I’ve climbed the o2 twice. Although that’s not that wild, it is my wildest thing so far.. Bucket list- be fluent in a language other than English, go on a safari trip. Being an adaptive athlete is absolutley great. As a kid I wasn’t allowed to do PE at school, so it’s so nice to take up space in the fitness world as a disabled person. Climbable is a program that utilizes rock climbing to integrate recovering wounded warriors into the adaptive sports community. Climbable launches as soon as the remainder of the needed funds are raised. Climbable was founded by US Navy Veteran, 4x US Paraclimbing Team Athlete, National Ability Center Ambassador, and Move United Warfighter Ambassador Jared Lenahan. Jared recovered at Walter Reed for close to five years. Around Jared’s fourth year of recovery, he found his way into the adaptive sports community only because he happened to be in the right place at the right time. Jared’s journey through recovery taught him first-hand that the adaptive sports community is THE community that recovering warriors need. Why? The military focuses on recovery, but not life afterwards. So many warriors go through recovery for years, only to be told that they’re unfit for duty. They’re often given 6-9 months before being kicked out. Losing your community and support system is devastating. Climbable introduces warriors to the adaptive sports community before they lose their military community. Climbable shows them a streamlined path to transition from recovery to some of the highest levels of physical, emotional, and psychological ability. Climbable will start by bringing 10 warriors to SportRock Gaithersburg. Jared will teach the warriors about climbing, recovery through sport, life after the military, and introduce them to the greater adaptive sports community. In September 2024, Climbable will fly the warriors to the National Ability Center in Park City, Utah for a four-day paraclimbing and adaptive sports camp to continue their adaptive sports journey.

Hi! I’m alive and well! Here is a photo dump of little moments that happened (somewhat) recently. Here is a little recap on my life: My name is Gillian and I’m 28 years old with cerebral palsy. Pictured are two of my favourite beings: my dog AJ and my boyfriend Antony. I like to share little bits of my life to show that people with disabilities are just as weird as everybody else, and to hopefully make others like me feel less alone. I never had a platform where I could learn about living a “normal” life with my disability, vent, and learn how to cope with all the things. I didn’t know what my life could look like. BTS of our first day of production on “After the fall” And boy what a day it was…. Great start to the production of after the fall. A documentary about adaptive adventure @darrenedwards_adventurer as he prepares to take on his biggest challenge yet. To sit ski 333k across Antarctica. Our first day started with one epic backdrop at west midland air ambulance base. A big thank you to the crews and staff at the aircraft hanger for letting us film. We came together as a film crew for the first time after months of prep and knocked it out of the park. Looking forward to many more shoot days to come. Additionally, they saw an 18% increase in participants, with 1,096 individuals benefiting from Vermont Adaptive’s year-round programs.
