De "lange trail" Zoals ik gisteren aan gaf, zou ik later deze week een lange trail lopen op Zakynthos. Als basis heb ik in overleg met Guido Tap / alltractive een route gebruikt en deze verlengt met highlights van deze kant van het eiland. Na 2km liep ik de badplaats uit, en begon het klimmen tot ong. 100 meter. Vanaf hier was het op en af richting de haven van Zakynyhos met vanaf de haven de 2e klim naar het uitkijkpunt van Bohali (wederom zo'n 100 meter) met een uitzicht over de "stad" en haven. Vanaf hier is het stijl dalen door de smalle straatjes terug naar de haven. Slingerend langs de kust naar Argassi waar de route rechtsaf ging en direct de berg op. Wat een moordend stijl stuk zeg! Als je achterom kijkt zie je hoe snel je de hoogte in gaat. Een kilometer of 4, gemiddeld zo'n 10% met super mooie uitzichten over de haven, en boven op de top (464 meter) een oud klooster. Vlak bij (dacht ik) nog een ander uitzichtpunt waar je de andere kant van de berg kan zien. Dit was wel 1.2km dalen (180meter) welke ik daarna ook weer moest klimmen! Vanaf hier slingert de route door een erg mooi gebied en route naar beneden langs een oude mijn tot zee niveau. Vanaf hier heb ik er nog een stuk strand aangeplakt en zo terug naar het hotel. Met een mooie 42km en 1000hm zit ik nu lekker aan de lunch! Cya on the trails!

Perun SkyMarathon 2024 (MČR), 45km / 3200m+ 🏁, ⏱️6:09:32, 30. místo celkově a 17. v kategorii M39-. Skymaraton pověstný svým výškový profilem trati a technicky náročným terénem. Je tak považován za nejtěžší trailový maraton v ČR a to byla přesně výzva pro mě. Protože byl start závodu až 9:15, vyrážel jsem okolo 6 ranní z domu směr Oldřichovice u Třince. Cesta byla svižná a už před 8 jsem byl na místě. Potom následovalo vyzvednutí startovacího balíčku, rozklus, protažení, nabalení potřebného paliva, hůlek a upevnění čísla.1️⃣7️⃣6️⃣ Na startu jsem potkal spoustu známých tváří (ještě aby ne, je to MČR) a byl připravený jít prostě pocitově v rámci tréninku a hlavně si závod užít. Po odstartování nás čekalo první stoupání na Javorový. Moc hezké. Znáte to, příval euforie, který zanedlouho vystřídá prozření a otazník, co to tu zase doprdele dělám.😅 Naštěstí mi pocit blaha zůstal až cca do 30 km, potom to bylo horší. 🙈 V průběhu trati se vystřídalo 4 ročních období. Svítilo sluníčko, do toho se běželo přes kameny, kořeny, bláto a i sníh na vrcholcích kopečků.☃️❄️ Oficiálně je psáno, že trať má 41 km a stoupání 3400m, ale všem, co jsem se jich ptal, jim hodinky naměřily cca 45 km. Mě o něco více, protože jsem se po druhém kopci ocitl sám na trati a to není obvykle dobré znamení. 🤦🏻♂️ Zaběhl jsem si asi kilák navíc. No co už. Na prvním kontrolním bodě jsem byl na nějakém 45 místě a do cíle se postupně prokousával až na konečné 30. místo. Co bych vyzdvihl je GRANDE FINÁLE v podobě druhého výstupu na Javorový a následný seběh po sjezdovce dolů do cíle. To stoupání totiž měří okolo 400m a je na něm 27% stoupání. Člověk jde prakticky po čtyřech a bojí se, aby nespadl a neskutálel se dolů.😅 Po více než 40 km a 3000 m výškových v nohách to není zrovna příjemné měl jsem chuť se na to vy*rat.💩 Nakonec jsem se nějak vydrápal nahoru a dolů už to byla hračka. 🧸Vůbec jsem neměl nohy na kaši a vůbec mě nebolel každý dopad na zem a pokus o brždění.🫶 Celkově hodnotím tento závod jako dobrý, výborný, dávám mu 10/10 a příští rok.💚 📸 @perunmarathon #skymarathon #trailrunning #adventurestartshere #salomonrunning #timetoplay #ultratrailrunning #beskydy #beskydymountains

It's national walking month! It's been a while since I've hiked properly let alone done anything long distance. Trail funds are a bit low this year so decided to jump on the Pennine Way North to South, walking towards home. That's 268 miles from Kirk Yetholh in the Scottish Borders to Edale, Derbyshire. I crossed paths with the PW when I was on the coast to coast in 2022 and thought to myself, one day my old friend, I will return. Completed it twice already South to North. 14 days the first time and 11 days the second. Time 🕰 The Greek philosopher Theophrastus once said, “Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend.” And it is true, so why not spend time doing things that you absolutely love?! Because most of society are trapped in the trading time for money, for most underselling themselves, & working in an environment that diminishes their life force. Today I was called to be in & near water - so I took myself off for a day at the beach. No time limit, constraints or restrictions. I have created a lifestyle which affords me an abundance of time. Therefore I am incredibly rich. I spend my time doing what I love, even when working… I am the creator of my reality & many years ago - I decided I am no longer working ridiculous hours. I want to have a lot of free time to enjoy life. To walk Teddy for miles everyday. To go to the gym. To meet friends for coffees. To travel. To stay in bed if I desired. I can do as I please, and I teach my clients how to do the same… Time is the most precious, non-renewable commodity anyone has. You are born with a set amount of time, and you have no way of knowing how much time you have left on this Earth at any given moment. That’s why it’s essential to make the most of your time and not take it for granted. I have seen time & time again how short life can be. From working in children’s hospices, family members, to losing my beautiful Godson (who changed my life forever & is why I am here in Scotland), & most recently one of my incredible best friends 💔 Not only do I want to live for me, I want to live for them too.
