We need to stop seeing exercise as something we do short term. The minute you tell yourself that exercise is always there for you. Something clicks 🤯 You realise you've been looking at it all wrong... If exercise is part of your life - forever. You no longer have this on/off plan attitude. You're no longer failing every time life needs to take priority. Its not a case of being good or bad. Its just part of you, who you are and what you do. 👉Some times you're doing it more consistently than others. Which is great. 👉Other times you've got to scale back to focus on other things. I admit I’ve been lax over the last several weeks about exercising. It’s not my favorite thing to do and during the busy days of December, I didn’t force it into my schedule. It’s time to get back at it. (Please read that with a big sigh….) . I’m getting back at it because I’m discovering my muscles are feeling tired and achy from weird sleep positions and such; I’m noticing my “age” more. When it warms up, I want to be able to hike and kayak and do whatever I think I should be able to do! I’m not asking to be Wonder Woman, but I do want to be steady and firm on my feet. . Paul talks about standing firm in Ephesians 6. “Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.” (Verse 11, NLT) • Just like I need to exercise so that I stand firm physically, we must put on all of God to stand firm spiritually. • Just like exercise strengthens us and improves our balance, regularly putting on the presence of God strengthens us spiritually and improves our ability to solidly stand regardless of our circumstances. • Just like exercise can be difficult and rewarding, learning to live from a place where we are consistently in God’s presence is challenging and absolutely fulfilling. . So I'm not going to lie, I have loved not exercising the last week or so, and was somewhat unsure as to how I'd feel getting back to it with two fitness classes and a PT session but from the minute I entered the studio at the Sports Park and put that music on, to the final stretches for my PT session, I felt 🥳🥳🥳. Welcome to 2022. I’ve taken some time off from posting for the holidays. I kept asking myself when it would be the best time to start back up. I just decided the time was now. . If you’re one of the folks that sometimes feels a little let down after the holidays, I totally get it. It doesn’t have to rise to the level of Seasonal Affective Disorder, but winter blues are a thing. Sitting under a blanket just seems like the thing to do. . I've been a Pilates beginner more than a 100 times and I'm not ashamed. The first time I tried Pilates, every time I've been injured, every time I'd had surgery, every time I've been without practicing Pilates for some time I'll go back to an essential level and hear me out, it's ok. Being a Pilates beginner is not something you should be ashamed of. Actually, this is exactly the place where you need to be when restarting after you've paused your training. Whenever you are coming back to exercise you need to start slowly and progress the load and the exercises to avoid injuries. Hello all!!! I’m back!!! With almost 3-5 months of not posting I’m here lol! Week 6 is done. Tried something different. On one of the days before my workout I applied Deep Relief on my shoulders and chest and did a #scenttent with what was left on my hands after rubbing it all in. So during lockdown and up until we got puppy I was so strict with my fitness and doing it at least 5 days a week! i struggled to keep it going after we got puppy 🐶 I felt my tummy was firming up nicely but The last few days I’ve noticed that gone 🙈 I am so annoyed with myself but it was difficult to keep that routine whilst looking after a young pup. Being back at work and dog walking I am getting over 10,000 steps in which is fab! So as of tomorrow and at least three times a week I am back on #t25workout . Discofit will be a Monday night only as I’m working during the day. Day one post lockdown - the last few months have been crazy and for me they were super busy. Being so busy has meant I’ve not exercised, I’ve eaten rubbish food & drank way too much!!! I don't normally share anniversaries of injures and had trouble finding the right words. It has been a year since I found out I fractured my ankle after I got back from the east coast. I endured weeks of wearing walking boot a cast and then a walking boot again and then physical therapy. So far in that time, I've been able to maintain a good exercise routine and will be getting a check up this week to make sure everything continues to work the way it should be. #tuesdaytbt #backtoexercising

My first OFFICIAL jog 🏃‍♀️ 👟 🥳⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ With my new running trainers 😍⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The emotions on tying up trainers for the first time in 2 years.... ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Will I be as good as my last run? ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 😬The excitement ⁣⁣ 😳The nerves ⁣⁣ 🤭The judgement from others ⁣⁣ 🥺 My own judgement ⁣⁣ 🤢 My stomach churning ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 💭 The self talk that was about to fill my mind as I was entering what was once a dangerous addiction and didn’t serve me in a healthy way ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ And I reminder myself that I wasn’t her anymore, I wasn’t the Jessica who punished herself through exercise I’m simply on a journey of healing and regaining my health and keeping it 🙏⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I said to myself ...⁣⁣ “It’s okay whatever you do, enjoy it and I’m proud of you the moment you step out of the front door “⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ See I’m just proud of where I am now and my journey of how I got here ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ It doesn’t matter what my last run was, it’s who I am now and the lessons I’ve learnt 🙌⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The rush of good feelings flooded through my mind and body as I was jogging, actually doing it with no pain ! 🤭🤗🤗🤗⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 💨 The wind against my cheeks, my heart racing, I was in a zone that once consumed me so much in a negative way that I thought was positive, but today I enjoyed every moment ! 😍⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I used to hate running, but I knew my body needed the punishment 😡 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ That day? Through my own journey of self love and self care I enjoyed it and I’m proud of every step I took. I couldn’t care who was looking at me and more so I didn’t even thinking about what they was thinking of me, it was all irrelevant to my present moment. I wasn’t going to let anyone ruin it for me or my own thoughts ruin it 🤩⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Where ever you are on your journey, pushing yourself to take your first step out for a walk or pushing yourself to run an extra 1k, focus on you! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Don’t compare yourself to what you achieved before or someone else, because it matters what you do now - FOR YOU 🙏⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This is in any area of your life you want to grow, not just exercise, I found happiness when I had my fitness ( and other things ) taken away from me because I fell in love with me so always do what is best for you, your mind and body 🥰⁣

So, today I got back on the Total Gym. It had been collecting dust and holding empty boxes for way too long. ❤️ I deserve to treat my body better than I have been. Today was the first day in nearly 4 months I have done any exercise 😳Yes it was an effort, yes I felt like I was gonna die, yes I sweated my ass off, yes I’m going to make an effort to be more consistent and look after my health more. It’s not a New Years resolution at all as that’s my travel plans but I do want to look my best while I explore Orlando in 97 days. I’m posting to keep myself accountable. I’ve lived in my complex since April 2019 with a gym and never wanted to touch it. Lucky I get to have the lap pool as my view and the palm trees.
