Did you know @subaru_lv partners with Lee Canyon? When we’re up here, we always try to spot the #leecanyonoutbacks. Today we took some of the #subiedogs to @leecanyonlv today on #upperbristleconetrail. It’s easily one of our favorite trails, especially in the #fall when the #aspentrees are changing color. Seeing the old #bristleconetrees is amazing as well, as #greatbasinbristleconepine is one of the oldest living trees on earth. The whole #bristleconeloop is 6.3 miles. I drove 600 miles just so I could photograph Pinus longaeva (the Great Basin Bristlecone Pine). This tree is only found in the mountains of California, Nevada, and Utah and only grows at an elevation between 7,200-12,000 feet. Most are found around 9,000 feet. I have always had a bizarre fascination with this tree. Bryce Canyon Day 3- We finished up our visit by doing the Bristlecone Loop trail, a short 1 mile hike at the very end of the scenic drive. We also checked our the Yovimpa Point outlook where on a very clear day you can see all the way to the Grand Canyon! Our final stop was the Bryce Point/Paria View Overlooks. They were the perfect last stops as they are possibly the best views in the park.

May 18th - The Mossy Cave trail is off the beaten path here at Bryce but completely worth the short drive it takes to get there. This we did in the morning. We did it! We made it to the TOP of Griffith Peak, the THIRD highest peak in Southern Nevada with an elevation of 11,059 feet! It was a GREAT LM Squared Adventure! The weather was chilly and we enjoyed the adventure with my puppy Lyla, delicious snacks, and a friendship that just made the miles fly by. At the end we felt strong knowing that we accomplished what we came to do. Together we experienced the pure peace and beauty of the Bristlecone Loop Trail today. Lyla took on her first trail adventure with all the excitement of a Husky in love with exploring. She smelled the flowers and was just so happy to be in nature and out of the heat of Vegas. It’s a 6.3 mile moderate hike in Lee Canyon, which is 35 miles northwest of Las Vegas by Mount Charleston. You can can hike, run, mountain bike, and take your dog. Trust me; we saw it all out on the trail. We finished off our adventure with lunch at Big Horn Grill at Lee Canyon Ski Resort, where we enjoyed the majestic views of wild horses roaming the ski slopes. Next was Bryce Canyon National Park. It didn’t disappoint. We started by taking a snowy walk around Bristlecone Loop. The fresh snow on the trees were beautiful! We followed what we thought was mountain lion prints for a while but i think it was just a dog print. Ha! Then a hike down into Queens Garden. The red rock hoodoos covered in snow were so beautiful! So many more amazing photos that I couldn’t add to this post to share but I had such an amazing road trip with @katelynramsey in November. We took 2 weeks and traveled through four of Utah’s national parks(Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Arches), Colorado(Vail, Boulder, Denver, Colorado Springs), New Mexico(Santa Fe, Albuquerque) and Arizona(Flagstaff, Page, Sedona). Saying that I’m excited to get out into the world and see more is an understatement.
