I am learning to like Leg Day a little more. One squat at a time. To say that I could not feel my legs after the first set of statics is an understatement. Each round has 40 squat variations and 60 lunge variations! This Bootcamp WOD albeit bodyweight, is not one for those who are in the habit of skipping Leg Day. Glad I found this WOD on IG and tweeked it slightly. Reworked the sequencing and added some running. DO NOT skip leg day🦵 Ladies I know you won’t but boys I repeat…DO NOT skip leg days! In fact, leg day should be considered the most important day in your training schedule. Most of the muscle carried by a human body is in the lower half. So whether your goal is to build muscle or lose fat, legs should be a priority. Simply put, they can pack a lot muscle mass and turn your body into a calorie burning machine. More Muscle = More Calories burnt Now from body stability or an aesthetic point of view, lower body training will lay the foundation for a strong and steady torso. It will give you a proportionate look. Effective lower body training causes a massive release of growth hormone and testosterone - key elements for building muscle. A little bit of science for the fitness nerds like me. The study, published in Frontiers in Neuroscience, stopped mice from using their hind legs for 28 days, while ensuring they otherwise lived as normal. Afterwards, the scientists examined an area of the brain called the sub-ventricular zone, which is responsible for nerve cell health. The mice had 70% fewer stem cells than the control group of mice who were free to complete whatever exercise mice usually do (lol). Worse still, two sets of cells that exist to support and insulate nerve cells didn’t fully mature for the inhibited mice. It's the smallest postural corrections that make all the difference. If you plan on doing two leg-day workouts, it would be effective to split up your training even further: one day for glutes and hamstrings and another for quads. I usually do not post videos or pictures of me working out but I'm so proud of this progress. Few months ago I let go of all my excuses for having bad knees, bad ankles , and poor hip and ankle mobility to start growing trunks. I started of hardly being able to 185lb deadlift. Today I was able to hit 275lb x 5 reps, 275lb x 6 reps, and 275 x 5 reps. Felt so good to see the progression. This is the most I ever deadlifted. Trust the process and let go of all excuses on why u can't do it. I'm getting these damn tree trunks! Quadzilla in the making. And YES JESUS did love me during these sets 😂 For all the lifters out I would much appreciate any advice I how to perfect the deadlifts and get even stronger. #bodybuilding #legday #donotskiplegday #deadlift #quadzilla #trunks #trusttheprocess

Legs are by far one of the most elaborate muscle groups. The legs essentially have 4 main muscles which are the glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, and calves. The glutes are your bottom, many individuals who want to grow their glutes tend to focus on glute exercises. A good glute exercise is glute bridges. The quadricep muscle is located on the front thigh whereas the hamstring is located on the back thigh. A cool fact about the quadriceps is that it’s the leanest yet strongest muscle in your body. A great exercise for quadriceps is leg extensions and a good exercise for hamstrings is leg curls. The calves are located beneath the knees on the back and help with the movement of the ankles, feet, and toes. A common calves exercise are calves raises. Many individuals skip leg day, but as you can see it’s neglecting 4 main muscles of your lower body. TURN UP THE VOLUME for funny gargling sounds! My girlfriend was watching me squatting and said to me that I was making funny sounds right when I finished the set. It was not until I had watched the video that I noticed what she meant. I was trying to keep my core as tight as possible. Maybe there was just air leaking out. Prepatellar bursitis/bursopathy has been slowing me down for too long! Movements without complete flexion of the knee joint do not seem to worsen the condition. Actually, I think I finally found the right treatment to get that bursa to its original size again - more on that on another post. Because of the bursopathy I did not really jump for a few weeks so I decided to follow @nathanaelmortonn 's 3 Month Squat Guide in order to strengthen my tendons and have them ready once my knee is ok again. I also noticed that my bursa is fine with heavy eccentrics done slowly.

I’m a fan of recording my workouts in order to check my form. An app that REALLY helps is the #ironpathapp . It basically traces the path of the barbell in order to make sure the path is straight.
