Had some snap to my pop so I decided to make it crackle. First time clean and jerking 245 in literally close to two years so that’s pretty exciting. Started with sprints worked into jumps with single leg broad jumps then went at it on seated verts. Best (last) shown. ~29 inches Moved into cleans.I got to 205 and the bar felt empty so I kept going up on cleans till I hit 245. really had no good reason to jerk the weight, but I’ll never pass on an opportunity to smash a jerk. Plenty to work on in the clean but this was promising . Riding hot on the high of that CnJ I moved to paused squats and hit a top set of 320x4 (planned 3). Rather than back down for another set I opted to spare myself the added fatigue from the axial loading (as to not negatively effect my central drive going into the next couple training days) and moved on to machine work then 2 miles on the elliptical. The leisure ride was for mental health. Nothing better than casual ride on a sunny spring afternoon. Overall feeling good. Life and training moving in the right direction. Move much and be well. Tri-Set Training ⬇️ Doing tri-sets is basically just super-setting 3 exercises in a similar movement pattern (in this case, upper body push). I did a 90% 1RM Bench Press, followed by a Med Ball Explosive Drop Chest Press, and finished it off with Band Assisted Explosive Push-Ups. If you are short on time, these are great.
