Hereโ€™s a client of mine who loves to run and is facing with some knee related issues. Her structural bias and configuration just makes it hard to get off the ground. And with gravity as a constant pushing downwards, it just makes it even harder. Sheโ€™s squeezed up top and wider at the bottom which just amplifies the downward pressure, her way of working around is to utilize compensatory strategies that lead to her knee issues. The goal is to reduce pressure up top, and teach her how to ascend her guts / pressure straight up instead of bending things. We canโ€™t change her structure/configuration but we sure can help improve her strategies to overcome it. Now sheโ€™s having less knee tension, and able to complete runs almost discomfort free, more work to be done, maybe a better shoe can also assist her in which we will be exploring ๐Ÿ˜Ž Credits to @bill_hartman_pt UHPC model for the concepts and ideas ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ interested to know more do check his model out ๐Ÿซก Hereโ€™s an example of activities to reduce pressure up top and get her to ascend things up efficiently.
