Talia Hibbert - Falling for Eve Brown [unbezahlte Werbung] übersetzt von Sybille Uplegger Hm.. Ich kann gar nicht genau sagen warum. Aber das war nix für mich. Leider! Nachdem ich Band eins Chloe Brown sooo gefeiert habe, hatte ich mich sehr auf ihre Schwestern und deren Liebesgeschichten gefreut. Dani Brown konnte mich schon nicht mehr so überzeugen und leider hat es Eve Brown und ihre Geschichte auch nicht geschafft. Vielleicht liegt es ein wenig an dem Humor der Autorin oder der Geschichte, wie man es sehen mag. Mir kommt das alles seeehr überspitzt und gewollt spicy und witzig vor. Versteht mich nicht falsch: ich liebe spicy, ich liebe witzig und ich weiß das es in vielen, vielen Romcoms auch sehr überzogen und überspitzt ist. Aber leider hier hat es im Endeffekt für mich nicht gepasst. Was ja super schade ist. Die Charaktere waren zwar süß, aber irgendwie war es mir egal was passiert, beziehungsweise ich hatte da einfach genau null Meinung dazu. Auch die Liebesgeschichte von Eve und Jacob habe ich leider null gefühlt. Tja und Drang das Buch weiter zu lesen hatte ich so gut wie nie. Aber ich wollte es beenden und habs ja schlussendlich auch durchgezogen. Was nicht so schwer war weil eins muss ich sagen: es lässt sich trotz allem super schnell lesen. Es tut mir im Herzen weh aber ich kann leider nicht mehr als 2.5 von 5 Sterne geben. Nja man kann aber letztendlich auch nicht alles lieben und feiern und manchmal ist eine Autorin einfach nix für einen. IVE BEEN MISSING OUT AND I HATE MYSELF FOR IT. like this book was so popular and now i know why T.T i started this bc someone on twitter said this one has the „he is kind to everyone but her”or something alone the line🤓 this was such a sweet swoony cute read, with dual POV. bro, the mmc's POV melted me from the very first page, my boy is smitten!! no no he was not actually smitten, HE THOUGHT SHE WAS A POSH GIRL, so he kinda "hated" her. but oh thanks to a brilliant cat!!! our mcs got closer and oh my god. i love every minute second of it!! i was blushing !! A LOT !! the way the mmc describes our girl is SO BEAUTIFUL, oh red, the tortured artist you are. their tensions were SO HOTTTTT omg yall, they havent even kissed but i was feeling THINGS or it was just my hormones cuz im about to get my period LOL this is such a lovely romance book, this book WAS romancing alright. i was heady and in love, couldn't stop smiling GAHHHHHH. But I have to confess that while I started reading the ebook version I switch to listening to the audio book on Spotify 🤷🏽♀️ there is something about Talia’s books… they are hard to get into. Maybe because they are written in the third person. This book follows Eve and Jacob. Eve is basically a mess up and her parents are tired of supporting her financially. she is given an ultimatum to get her act together or else. She runs into Jacob (literally lol oh… with her car) she ends up working for him as a chef. They are both on the autism spectrum. Loved their banter!!! This is a grumpy sunshine love story. At first you think these two characters are way too different to be together but they work! This is worth the read…. Eve i Jacob jsou úžasné postavy, které toho hodně skrývají, a jejich tajemství nám jsou představena až s postupem knihy. Prostředí B&B a malého městečka jsou pro pohodovou romantiku jako dělané. Tentokrát se díváme z pohledu nejmladší ze sester, jež bojuje se zodpovědností a nástrahami dospělého života. Její rodiče jí dají ultimátum a ona je nucena si rychle najít práci, avšak shodou okolností se připlete do života mírně upjatého, rozvážného majitele B&B. Děj je úsměvný a roztomilý, úžasná současná romantika, která nám představuje ztřeštěnou černošku s křivkami a slabostí pro barvené oblečení jako kontrast k zachmuřenému autistovi, jehož láskou je jeho podnik v malém městečku. Dynamika grumpy x sunshine a počáteční antipatie smíchané se vzájemnou přitažlivostí nám představují známý koncept, jenž funguje na principu neurazí, nenadchne. V příběhu se setkáme se zanedbaným dětstvím, autismem, strachem ze selhání i problémy s navázáním sociálních vztahů. Celkově však knihu hodnotím kladně, neboť všechny postavy byly sympatické a emočně vyspělé, takže se člověk nechytal při četbě za hlavu. Irgendwie brauchte ich anfangs schon einige Zeit um mit Dani warm zu werden. Keine Ahnung warum, vielleicht war mir ihre Art, ihren Ansichten einfach etwas zu überspitzt geschildert? Ich weiß es nicht genau, was aber schlussendlich auch egal ist den nach ein paar Startschwierigkeiten konnte sie mich doch überzeugen und für sich gewinnen. Zafir war mir irgendwie gleich sympathisch, aber wie könnte es auch anders sein?? Ein Grumpy!? Ja hallo, da bin ich doch sofort dafür zu haben!! Aber auch die Geschichte nimmt dann doch eine Richtung an die ich sehr feiere. Fake Dating ist einfach eins meiner liebsten Tropes und es war auch hier wirklich super den Beiden zuzusehen wie sie sich gegen ihre Gefühle wehren, obwohl es ja am Ende doch nutzlos ist sich da quer zu stellen. Herrlich. Was ich aber etwas schade fand, das super wenige Brown Sisters Momente in der Geschichte vor kamen. Irgendwie habe ich in Erinnerung das, das in Band eins doch mehr war und ich die Dynamik der Schwestern extrem geliebt habe. Aber ich hoffe einfach das es in Band drei wieder etwas mehr davon gibt. Ich gebe Dani Brown 3.5 von 5 Sterne und freue mich sehr auf Eve Brown und somit die letzte der Brown Sisters. I saw a bunch of the books accounts that I was following hopping on this trend so I thought I should make some too. No matter how many of Talia Hibbert’s books I read (I’ve read 13 so far) Get a life by Chole Brown will probably always stay my favorite. As a person with a chronic pain disorder, I very rarely feel seen by books and this book not only helped me to remember that I am so much more than what I can’t do. Talia created a character with Chloe that isn’t defined by her disability but also where her disability did not see inconsequential like some authors do. I definitely see Get a Life Chloe Brown as an example as to why disabled people should tell disabled people’s stories. Okay so I suck at captions when I say basically everything I wanted to on the slides, however, to give you the short version of what I said I think the Brown Sisters trilogy is an exceptional interconnected romance series. I think it’s so exceptional that the books deserved their own dedicated post. I had so much fun reading these books, and to be honest there is something so comforting about them. Despite the fact that some of the earlier books have outdated references, I think her work is such a solid argument for how brilliant the romance genre can be. Now I didn’t think these books were perfect. However, I did love them and the experience of reading them. I also know that I’m one of the last people on bookstagram to read these books so I’m probably telling you something that isn’t news to you. Despite that - please enjoy these reviews 💗

#BookReview: Take A Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert. Zafir Ansari, you have my heart. THE best book boyfriend. I really loved this book. It’s definitely my favorite of the brown sisters so far. I haven’t read eve’s book yet so this potentially could change. For now, Dani Brown is the Brown sister. I loved everyone in this book. There isn’t one character that annoyed me and even the miscommunication between Zaf and Dani made sense to me. In ‘Get a Life, Chloe Brown,’ I felt like Chloe and Red were doing the most but this time around I felt everything was completely justified. Side-note, Zaf reminded me of Roy Kent from ‘Ted Lasso’ and that made me love him even more. star rating: ★★★★★ #qotd: who’s your ultimate book boyfriend?

Opinião da Mafi 🎶 Lido em 2021. 🎼"Vê-se cresces Eve Brown" é o terceiro livro da série das Brown Sisters e que bom foi ler estes livros, um por mês e conhecer estas irmãs. Aqui conhecemos a última irmã, a Eve que tem muitos sonhos, muitas ambições mas também é muito indecisa, andando sempre a saltar de trabalho em trabalho mas sem um futuro garantido. Até que os pais lhe cortam o seu fundo, ou ela orienta-se de vez e começa a trabalhar a sério ou então eles não vão continuar a ajudá-la enquanto ela procura o emprego perfeito. O problema é que Eve esforça-se mas nunca parece ter todas as aptidões necessárias para ter sucesso. Inesperadamente vai ter ao 'Bed and Breakfast' de Jacob que só por acaso precisa de pessoal urgentemente para trabalhar e aqui temos o ponto de partida para até último livro. É impossível dizer mais alguma coisa do que já não tenha dito nos outros livros da autora. Adorei a Eve, adorei o Jacob, o romance deles e a evolução da Eve durante todo o livro. A autora é muito boa em relações de "odeio-te mas afinal gosto de ti". Todos os livros da série começam com os protagonistas em conflito e depois transforma em romance e este não foi excepção. É sempre divertido ler este tipo de narrativa porque sabemos logo que vão ficar juntos. Gostei muito do Jacob, ao principio ele é um bocado frio mas a sua frieza tem uma razão e vemos que afinal é um homem com um coração bem bondoso. The topics she discusses are gold. We don't have enough of that, and I appreciate her a lot. I loved Danika Brown. She was so freaking relatable to me. I loved her with all her sharp edges and uncomfortable insecurities and her kind heart. I don't know what stopped me from enjoying it more. There was something standing in my way while reading the book. And I couldn't get myself involved with the romance as much as I liked. My guess is that friends with benefits trope could not be my cup of tea. I'm still not sure. My best friend gave them 5 stars so I immediately had to buy them from The Ripped Bodice. So far I’ve only read Get a Life, Chloe Brown and loved it! Chloe is our fmc with fibromyalgia (twinsies 👯♀️) who is scared to enjoy life and decides it’s time to finally start living. She meets Red, a broody artist, when she moves in to her new apartment. And an unlikely friendship and then slow burn romance occurs between them 😍 It’s witty, funny, charming, fun to read. A true RomCom. Chloe is relatable and realistic. Kicking up my feet and swinging them back & forth type of giddy! ✨💞 REFLECTION 🏷️ "Take A Hint, Dani Brown" - enjoyed & loved chatting about <3 I loved getting to know Dani & Zafir! This was the perfect comfort read that didn't feel like it lacked depth. I loved the way grief by death and grief by hurt was held and told throughout! Talia Hibbert has remained constant for me in good mental health representation. As an anxious gal myself, my heart always feels warm whenever anxiety is met with care & wanting to learn how to support rather than dismissiveness. [the bar is low 🤪] One of the main reasons it just wasn't a five star read for me was just the fake dating. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the fake dating trope. Something just didn't hit for me. Maybe it was almost too manufactured? I have no idea.

See I updated my counting a little 😉 I was a little afraid as I tried to listen to the Princess Trap and couldn’t find it in me to like it. But I wanted to listen to something different this month and I saw I could get all three books from the Brown Sisters series for my monthly audible subscription so I went for this book for the chronic illness prompt! I devoured this audiobook in two days. It was cute. I liked the sarcastic tones and also how Chloe’s illness was described and how she tried to keep going despite of it. Act Your Age, Eve Brown is my all time favourite romcom book. And I truly mean romcom. Romantic COMEDY. I was reading through all of my kindle highlights to add some quotes to show off Eve and Jacob and the way I was laughing at 99% of the things I highlighted. Eve and Jacob’s dynamic is fantastic and they are a delight to read about. Talia Hibbert is an incredible writer and I love how well she wrote the grumpy x sunshine dynamic into Eve and Jacob’s relationship. They are practically polar opposites yet work in every way possible. She also did a great job with the neurodivergent and plus size rep. I think it may be time for my annual reread🤭 p.s scroll to the end for some spicy surprises hehe

🩵💛Take a Hint, Dani Brown (2020) & Act Your Age, Eve Brown (2021) wrap up the spicy Brown Sisters trilogy. Dani, a professor of English & Women’s Studies, falls in love with ex-rugby player & uni security guard Zafir Ansari. Zaf struggles with PTSD & anxiety. Dani is a workaholic & commitment-phobe. The two become a social media phenomenon after Zaf saves Dani from an elevator and is filmed carrying her bridal-style out of a building during a drill. Wanting to capitalize on Internet fame to garner attention for his nonprofit, which helps boys deconstruct internalized toxic masculinity, Dani & Zaf strike up a fake relationship to keep the Internet buzzing. But emotions on both sides don’t feel all that fake. Read this if you love a man whose emotional intelligence is off the charts. Zaf is in therapy, identifies his triggers, and helps others do the same. I loved how being with Zaf reminded Dani there’s more to life than the grind. This is the 2nd novel I’ve read this year that deconstructs #girlboss mentality. More than anything, this book was about accepting vulnerability. 5/5. Eve’s story was a little different, and that’s because Eve is a little different. She’s blunt, wears graphic T-shirts 24/7, needs music to function, and can’t help but drop a dirty joke. Against all odds, she falls in love with Jacob Wayne, the manager of a B&B where she decides – at random – to work as a chef when her parents give her a tough-love talk about her job-hopping. Jacob makes sure every detail is perfect at his inn and doesn’t take kindly to Eve barging into his life, despite being so desperate for a chef that he hires her. Jacob is on the spectrum and everything about Eve pisses him off… until it doesn’t, because she’s a perfect fit and sees right through him. I’m starting to see a pattern with Hibbert’s third acts. They’re quick. Like GALCB, I thought the big conflict of this one was rushed and a little overdramatic. Jacob blows up after a misunderstanding that he treats as DEFCON-1, but after all, what’s a romantic conflict without some level of overreaction or miscommunication? I’ll forgive it for the body positivity and neurodivergent representation any day. 4/5.
𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝗴𝗲, 𝗘𝘃𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗛𝗶𝗯𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 Summary: In the third book in the Brown Sisters series, the youngest sister, Eve Brown, is struggling with what to do with her life, and when her parents tell her it is time to grow up, she runs away and hits Jacob Wayne with her car after unsuccessfully interviewing to be the chef at his B&B. With his injuries, Eve stays to help, and together, they run the B&B and grow closer. Best Line: “ ‘Eve,’ he said, ‘everything about you matters.’ And then he briefly considered ripping out his own tongue.” Review: This was the January read for the HEA book club at @blue_cypress_books, and it was so nice to get back to book club! While I don’t normally like reading series out of order, the Brown Sisters series works just fine individually. This was a sweet romance, but I do think I just don’t love Talia Hibbert’s writing style. At the beginning of this book, I felt both of these characters were very stereotypical and uninteresting, especially Jacob and his autism, but as the book went on, and we got more inside his head, I began to like it more, although I still didn’t like the way Eve talked; it just didn’t seem realistic. I appreciated the discovering that you have autism as a woman rep in this book and found it very relatable. Jacob, besides his autism, didn’t seem to be a super fleshed-out character like Eve since his story entirely revolved around loving her and his B&B. I quite liked the B&B and the side characters in this one, especially Montrose and his sisters. Altogether, while not my favorite, it is a fairly good romance.

Like any type A girly would do, she decides to make a step by step list detailing how she will “get a life”. She begrudgingly enlists the help of her apartment superintendent, Redford, and an alliance forms despite their differences. My thoughts: This book was so absolutely lovely. The characters were flawed, but lovable and the audiobook narrator gave them unique voices and accents truly bringing them to life. Chloe has fibromyalgia and is not once reduced to her chronic illness. She also gets to be sassy, determined, and a bit prickly (which I LOVE in an FMC). Red performs beautifully beside her as a love interest, layered like a handsome onion.
