Pero antes de bombardear nuestros sentidos con parafernalia puramente barroca y efectista, nos entregó no solamente un sólido remake del film del 78 de #georgearomero , sino también una película de zombies hecha y derecha; con un guión simple, pero redondo y económico de parte del mismísimo #jamesgunn (Guardianes de la Galaxia, Peacemaker, Super), a quien debió llamar de vuelta antes de hacer la bazofia de #armyofthedead ; y un reparto sólido y diverso que le entrega su propio sello a cada personaje. Desde el caótico inicio y los estupendos créditos iniciales, acompañados por "When The Man Comes Around" de Johnny Cash, hasta el final, el film no deja un solo momento de respiro al espectador, ya se trate de las secuencias de acción o de los diálogos y conflictos personales. Cada personaje toma decisiones lógicas e inteligentes, y al momento en que dejan de hacerlo, pagan las consecuencias. 📽️ Night of The Living Dead 🍺 @trippinganimalsbrewing Return of The Tripping Dead - Sour ale with cherry, coconut, almonds and vanilla This is one of those films that I genuinely can’t remember a time when I hadn’t seen it, I must have been shown it when I was far too young, or caught it on TV late at night or something, it’s genuinely creepy and changed the landscape for an entire sub-genre. It was so great to catch this on the big screen! Un ama de casa se aburre todo el santo día en idem y decide probar eso del satanismo introduciéndose en un tea party ocultista con el que saciar su sed de nuevos hobbies, no sintiéndose estigmatizada por necesitar escapar del monótono encierro de ser insulsa, rica y aburrida cargando el lastre emocional añadido de un marido conservador, absorbido por la ambición y maltratador. Como se suele decir, de tanto arrimar el ascua a la sardina te quemas, y los coqueteos, o el nuevo carácter desinhibido de la doña la convierten en blanco fácil de las groupies del maligno en rituales pandemónicos y aquelarres lisérgicos precedidos por, entre medias, una velada de sugestión fumeta departiendo sobre el edadismo. La misma claustrofobia, planos locos y juegos con luces y penumbras para volver al asedio atrincherado en un microespacio cerrado por la noche, solo que contra un mal no tangible... más bien inducido. No es estrictamente terror. Pero los miedos reales es lo que tienen, que pueden ponértelos por corbata tanto o más que otra clase de sustos.

Rating: 5/10 Watched at the cinema! Without this movie my favourite show The Walking Dead probably wouldn’t be possible along with other zombie greats and I appreciate the hell out of this film so much! My rating might not reflect but I liked it. It was just quite dated which made it harder to watch especially with some really stupid decisions from characters, I understand this being one of the first but as a personal preference it was dated for me. Also a lot of errors within it. It introduced the concept of zombies and whilst Romero had different versions back then especially as they didn’t look your typical type of zombies you might come to know the setting up for future films to adapt from is great! For the 60’s too it was quite unapologetically “brutal” as you had some real violence from time to time even involving a child which isn’t common anymore. Quite progressive for the time to also have a black lead! The female presence though was also dated with lots of screaming instead of dialogue. The ending was amazing though, it reminded me very much of The Mist which funnily enough is a Frank Darabont film. Super shocking! It is definitely a classic but definitely dated in my books to be considered a great movie. The casting of a great Duane Jones in the lead role is an incredible choice, the low-buget gets a lot out of its effects and striking cinematography, but the awkward pacing makes for this being a bit of a drag at times, and the awful supporting performances and their idiotic characters make this a frustrating watch at times. First today is Zombie Flesh Eaters (1979) Strangers searching for a young woman's missing father arrive at a tropical island where a doctor desperately seeks the cause and cure of a recent epidemic of the undead.
