R U N C O M M U T E 🏢🎒 Packed off my nerdy little running rucksack and headed off for a run home from the office today. Overall it was really nice and whilst it takes longer than a cycle or the tube, it’s a hell of a lot nicer than getting on the tube at Bank at rush hour 🥴 It’s about 11k from the City to where I live, which is very do-able but takes a bit of planning! Unfortunately due to my work from home patterns I have to run with my laptop 💻 in my rucksack as I need it at home tomorrow, which is NOT ideal. My back is feeling it a bit now! I did my running rucksack up as tight and best I could but it still didn’t feel as secure as it should have. Some more experimenting needed methinks 💭 I used to run home from work quite a bit in a pre-covid life where I went to the office every day and just left stuff there. It’s a bit harder nowadays with a different routine but I’m glad I did it - decent midweek distance done, fresh air, money saved on the tube and home to pjs and pasta 🍝 Who else does a run commute to or from work? Weekend long run done and forever searching for quiet green spots in London 💚 This is such a lovely spot along the River Wandle trail in SW London, it’s quiet and peaceful and the only downside is the main roads you have to run down to get there! Such a funny old run today - it was SO much warmer than I expected and the heat definitely got to me, I hadn’t brought water so we did an emergency lucozade stop off at the co-op on the way home as I was sooooo thirst, I haven’t had to do a mid-run shop stop for a long time l! My Garmin also announced to me that it had identified a new maximum heart rate which is not what I wanted with the very slow pace I was going at 😂 Oh and on the way home a fly flew into my mouth too which was nice 🙃🙃🙃 (see my stories for some excellent timed live footage) Anyway we win some and we lose some! Still happy to have got 12k in the bank and to have got it done nonetheless! Happy #humpday 😀 Last night was track night and we did the Cooper test which frankly was horrible 😱🏃♀️As my school reports frequently stated’ could do better’ is probably how I feel about the result. Saying that with my current fitness my target was 6 laps and I got them so I’m probably being hard on myself!
