London Marathon 2024 A week to reflect and my emotions are still mixed. It was amazing! This race never disappoints - it is always incredible and this year the support and atmosphere was one of the best I’ve experienced. The cheer crews from @childrenwithcanceruk were awesome and there were several moments when the crowds gave me the boost to push forward. My fundraising has hit nearly £2,500 for such a fantastic charity and this is always something I’ll be proud of. However, it’s hard not to feel disappointed, this was my slowest ever marathon and in truth it was everything I deserved. I didn’t give the marathon training the respect it deserves, I cut a few corners, I went off too fast and ultimately I suffered as a consequence. I don’t give up and I’m determined to bounce back and try again. Beacon Beast Marathon Slightly over marathon distance multi-terrain challenge with some amazing views to remember. A unique figure of eight route based on the Bodmin Way incorporating five very different churches supporting runners along the way. Over 3000ft of elevation on the course makes this a tough marathon and makes you feel like you’ve really earnt your medal. The weather was perfect, which added to the views and made the race even more enjoyable. Tolle Bedingungen mit Rückenwind (Kenner des OEM wissen was gemeint ist), zwar etwas zu warm und sonnig, aber das hatte ich dieses Jahr bei Läufen bisher immer so. Halo, kto wyłączył słońce? 🙈 Było już tak fajnie i ciepło, a tu znowu trzeba wyciągnąć z szafy leginsy i czapkę. Całe szczęście od weekendu ma się ocieplić i oby już tak zostało. Pobiegałby sobie człowiek już tak na krótko 🏃🏻 W niedzielę pierwszy raz od Warszawy stanę na linii startu. Zapowiada się po prostu miły bieg na 5 kilometrów w Ogrodzie Botanicznym w ramach @botanicznapiatka. Antwerp 10 miles 🏁 PR 💥 Gestart in wave 3 met in het achterhoofd de gedachte dat we wel eens snel in de staart van de vorige wave konden belanden. De eerste 5km gingen vlot, daarna werd het steeds drukker. Ondanks het slalommen het tempo goed kunnen aanhouden en gefinisht met een PR op de 10 mijl, een sub 20 op de 5km en een sub 40 op de 10km! London Marathon 2024 Such an amazing day. Came for a sub 3:20, but was not on for it up until mile 20 then something clicked and I came into my own and was able to finish super strong. Great to get to see my family and friends out on the course and celebrate with them after. Buzzing to run 3:19:17. My fastest marathon in 5 years, 3rd fastest marathon ever, London PB, GFA and a FV35 club record. It’s now a tradition to have a medal photo at the end with my dad and his medal from 1995. The only way is up 🆙 Another solid weekend of climbing on these beloved stairs. Big session yesterday consisting of 90 minutes climbing and descending and a short loop to get back to the start. Happy with the session and banking over 11kms of 🆙⬇️🏃🏻 As I’ve spent a considerable amount of time training here for this block, it’s now getting to a point where I’m getting comments from local residents going about there day while I’m running past or 🆙⬇️ the stairs adjoining their properties which is abit of a laugh 🤣 Play my cards right and one may offer me a coffee or some baking 🤞🤣😂 This morning back at them same stairs this time doing our whānau stairs session which was completed in sunny and warm sunshine, 💯 percent better than yesterday’s grey, cold and wet session. Anyhoo, happy with where I’m at in this training block but still more work to do before the big dance in four weeks and coming face to face with those Furber stairs at the end of UTA100! Trail or road?🤔 After yesterday’s 25k in Lake District organised by @trailevents.co I had a thought that Paris marathon two weeks ago was…relaxing 🤣 I may be slightly exaggerating as I still don’t feel my legs and IT bands are crying to the moon but it’s such a different running… how your heart rate jumps, how your body (legs!!) have to cope with constantly changing paths and surroundings.
