E niente... quando fa male, fa male 🦵🏼...ma io cerco di essere serena e di sorridere lo stesso. A volte è più difficile mollare che continuare, per una come me che è abituata a reggere di testa. Dopo le prime 2 ore ho iniziato a risentire alcuni doloretti che speravo fossero passati, ai quali ho dedicato poca cura perché sono sempre impegnata a risistemare gli altri piuttosto che me stessa. Un vero peccato dato che per il resto mi sentivo bene, ancora tanto energica, con nessun problema intestinale nè di freddo o vesciche dopo 7h ore di gara (e questo per chi fa le ultra non è affatto scontato!). Quello che mi rimane però è il piacere di essere ritornata in questo mondo ultra che mi mancava da alcuni mesi, dove c'è famiglia e ci si sente a casa. La lista dei grazie qui è infinita, partendo da @simoneleoultramaratoneta e @weareimpossibletarget che hanno organizzato tutto al meglio e mi hanno accolta con affetto. Ma grazie anche a tutti quelli che erano lì ad incitarmi e a supportarmi ad ogni giro di circuito. Un grazie speciale va però a @giorgiocalcaterra che mi ha accompagnata nelle mie 7 ore di gara, cercando di tranquillizzarmi nelle pause dovute ai dolori e che sarebbe stato disposto a continuare ad assistermi nonostante il freddo umido della notte. Ho deciso di fermarmi in maniera serena anche e soprattutto grazie alla sua presenza, che mi rassicura e mi dà supporto nella corsa come nella vita. Another Britain’s Ocean City Half Marathon in Plymouth and a new PB at 1:51:13. Happy with that although I reckon I couldn’t have shaved another 3-4 mins off that as I maintained a 4:36/km pace for the first 15km but the tank was empty at around 17km (pushing too hard) and I fell off the pace significantly for the last few kilometres. Try again next year with a more sustainable pace (but knowing me probably not 😂) Amazingly my wife who’s previous course time was 2:06 achieved an incredible 1:52 knocking a whole 14 minutes off her time! Proud is an understatement!! Justyn has been wanting to do a 25k run. He’s got the half marathon sorted but wanted to push himself further.. Today we set out to do a half… but half way through he said to me he wants to do 25ks. He was ready to quit at 22.5 as he was supposed to be back working, but I wouldn’t let him give up with only 2.5ks to go. Work can wait a few more minutes.. His legs may be sore, but he did it! And now (with only slight encouragement) she has signed up for the Hull 10k on 9th June, which we’ll be running together. She has supported me through everything including all my races and training 7 days a week, so it’s been great to return the favour a little bit. As a man it’s easy to forget how easy life is in terms of your ability to get on with things as and when you like. It is very different for women as during a certain time of the month it can become challenging to just get up and go 🤔 16 weeks of training for the ABP Newport Marathon 🏴 and everything was going so well until we both started suffering with Planar Fasciitis (PF) towards the later stages of training. Dee had the PF worse and was in pain during the pre race warm up. It was sad seeing her tear up before the race had even started😢 I advised she could sit it out, but she decided to get on with it. I worried terribly for her for every single second that went by. I was so relieved when I heard her name announced as a finisher. I was shocked to see her with her energy gels intact. Going through the emotions and frustration, she only took a gel at 5 miles for the entire race! You teach me what it means to be resilient. Sunday Funday. Started the day marshaling a local 5k event. It was cold, wet & windy, but everyone did great. Long run in glorious weather (waited for the rain to bog off) with @run.b4.sun who hit his furthest run distance by doing his first 10k and more, finishing on just over 9 miles and held it well. 🙌 Finished the run back at the gym for a good stretch out and using this vibrating machine thing which is meant to help push out lactic acid 🤷♀️ & is hilarious! It made my eyes wobble and brain shake and when sat on it (for back of thighs!!) it set off my Garmin emergency contact thing which is super loud on my phone - I need to sort that out as not the first time that's gone off! Then in for a sauna, steam room, quick blast under the ice shower and jacuzzi. I like these things, but get bored after a min in each. I can't do relaxing! #adhdbrain Tea out, Red Dwarf and Baby Reindeer before a good night's kip. 5k later, but going easy as saving my little legs for next Mondays Big Way Round trail run in Winchester. Late afternoon run. Today's plan was 8 to 12 miles. However, I was feeling better than yesterday and enjoying the run. I ended up going 15.1 miles. Moderately hilly course and some wind. This evening I also stretched, did some foam rolling, and resistance bands. Total weekly mileage was just shy of 68 miles. Thankful to be getting back into the groove. My mileage will increase some and should be more consistent in the coming weeks. Chris is running a half marathon race this Saturday morning in Indianapolis. I'll be cheering. I'll be joining him to race in June in Missoula, Montana. And another 13.1 in the books just 3 weeks after my hundred miler! This morning I ran the Glass City Half Marathon in Toledo, OH. I definitely knew there wouldn’t be a PR today so I happily ran with Billy for the first 10 until the half and marathon split then I ran the last 3 on my own. We ran a pretty steady pace the entire time and for the last 3 I did pick it up a little bit. I did have to stop to use bathroom a couple times which I lost about 40 seconds the first time but about 4 minutes the last time waiting. Due to Magdalena's injury and marathon training, the start to 2024 has had to be strictly structured training plan involving no trail running. But now London 2024 is in the past, it was time to get the trail gang back together (less Andy Farrant as was running Newport marathon today) for a run around our playground. God i have missed trail running and the feeling you get when running trails compared to road. Ma a Városmajortól mentünk fel a Normafára a Diósárkon keresztül, majd a Budakeszi úton vissza. Végig aszfalton mentünk, mert Márkó bubival jött, ami keményebb volt neki, mint felfutni a Normafára.😃

Hetzelfde rondje als onlangs, maar nu met Tessa en een stukje ingekort. We wilden het stukje Reichswald eigenlijk eerst ook niet doen, maar eenmaal terug toch nog maar dat rondje van 5km erbij gedaan. In het Reichswald nog even een lekkere stroopwafel naar binnen gepropt. Het weer was prima en ik liep dit keer makkelijker dan vorige keer. Zal wel door het kapsel komen, weg met die aangevreten bontjas. De route was natuurlijk weer geweldig! #mookerheide #stroopwafel #groen

Today was the #donordash 2024! Marc and I have focused on eating healthy and living a healthy life this year. My 5K times have been frustrating me the past two years. After so many early wake ups, lift sessions that felt useless, and learning about clean eating we are both going in the right direction with our weight and mindsets. I had a goal to beat and did so by 2 minutes!! 50. @zittauer_gebirgslauf !! Für uns ging es am Samstag nach Olbersdorf zum traditionellen Gebirgslauf. Patrick wollte seine Siegesserie über die 17 km fortsetzen und ich wollte, nach dem dritten Platz im Vorjahr, meinen ersten WK nach der Geburt unserer kleinen Tochter Emilia, bestreiten. Patricks Ziel war sehr ambitioniert da sich starke Konkurrenz aus dem Norden angemeldet hatte. Doch wie sagt man so schön "Konkurrenz belebt das Geschäft" und wir haben uns sehr gefreut Hannes und Mattes vom TeamK Sports wiederzusehen. Am Ende machten die drei die Podestplätze unter sich aus. Patrick konnte seinen kleinen Vorteil, den er aufgrund der Streckekenntnisse hatte nutzen und am Ende den Sieg nach Hause bringen. Knapp dahinter kamen Hannes und Mattes ins Ziel. Ich denke es wird nicht das letzte Duell der Drei gewesen sein. Beim nächsten WK werden die Karten wieder neu gemischt. Danke an @teamk_sports für eure Gutscheine wir werden Sie sinvoll investieren. Ich konnte mein selbstgestecktes Ziel, das Rennen "durchlaufen" erreichen und belegte am Ende bei den Damen über 7,5 km noch den vierten Platz. Ein weiterer Dank geht an unsere Kinderbetreung, ohne die ein Start nicht möglich gewesen wäre. . Wir freuen uns schon auf das nächste Jahr. . So Leute… die Frühjahrs-Halbmarathon-Saison ist für mich, im wahrsten Sinne, gelaufen. Der Stimmungsvollste war sicherlich der Halbmarathon in Venlo, knapp gefolgt von Berlin. Wobei ich die Veranstaltung in der Hauptstadt, dank Restalkohol gepaart mit ungewohnter Wärme, nicht wirklich genießen konnte. Den schnellsten Lauf hatte ich dann beim Halbmarathon in der recht großen Stadt westlich von Braunschweig. Seit Montag laufe ich wieder nach Twaiv-Trainingsplan, der Plan hat das Ziel mich ein wenig schneller zu machen, in ein paar Wochen werde ich dann umschwenken und den Fokus auf mein Highlight des Jahres, Köln Marathon, legen. 2024/04/07 Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris 💚 Jour J pour notre 3ème marathon (2ème en amoureux 🥰) Objectifs : Pour Aurel, finir sans douleurs et en prenant un max de plaisir ! Pour Élo, profiter de ce moment à deux, vivre ce grand événement ensemble ! Départ prévu dans le SAS des 4h, et vu la taille du SAS ça va être long 😅 20 minutes plus tard nous voici partis ! Ambiance de folie tout le long du parcours, on passe devant les plus beaux monuments de Paris : place de la Concorde, opéra Garnier, le Louvre, musée d'Orsay, la dame de fer 🗼🇨🇵, ou encore le grand palais... Quel spectacle pour les yeux ! Ça en ferait oublier qu'on est là pour courir un marathon et que cette promenade de 42,195 kms va se montrer exigeante. En effet, Paris n'est pas tout plat. Les quelques sorties de tunnels après 35 kms et la longue pente de l'hippodrome d'Auteuil se font ressentir. Mais la tête est là et nous avons le cœur fort, ce qui va nous guider vers l'arrivée. Les 2 derniers kms sont noir de monde, l'effervescence et les encouragements en font presque oublier la fatigue. Portés par cet élan populaire, nous nous envolons vers le tapis d'arrivée !!! Une nouvelle fois, main dans la main, nous passons sous cette arche symbolique au bout de 4h12'57 d'efforts 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏼♂️💜 Toujours une belle émotion et une grande fierté. Objectifs atteints : pas de bobo et un max de kiffe 🤩🤩 Ravito final grandement apprécié (y'avait du saumon et des cookies 😋😋) Maintenant, repos, avant les 10 kms de Poitiers samedi prochain. Prochain objectif marathon : aller chercher un chrono 4h ⏱️ pour cela l'ambition est de boucler nos prochains semis en moins d'1h45...
