Posted @withrepost • @vandanachoudhary1 #BookReview #TheLeewayTowers by @abhih.singh ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Leeway Towers consists of two parts - part 1 from chapters 1 to 24 where the story is centered around 2020 and part 2 from chapters 25 to 50 centered around 2034. Kal is a happy teenager living with his grandfather when his life goes upside down. He returns back from his refugee in Australia and on the surface things seem fine, only on the surface; everything is peaceful and appears sorted. What forced Kal and his grandfather to shift to Melbourne as refugees and what awaited Kal when he returned, how both the parts are related forms the rest of the story. The book is an appropriate representation of the current society we live in albeit we not realizing where we are headed to, in the name of development and betterment of lives; exploiting resources without stopping and thinking where this we ultimately end. At 400 pages, when you first hold the book in hand, you might wonder what the author would like to convey given the short blurb speaks of corruption and unemployment. Though some chunks of part 1 seem bit slow, part 2 makes up with the racy content. Also, reader will be too impressed with how the author ties up both the parts seamlessly. Kal’s transformation from a carefree teenager to a mature individual in the second part is the highlight, along with simple language and unique parallel narration style. The fresh concept which almost feels like reality instead of being dystopian, forces the readers to introspect. The author impresses by taking care of even the minutest details related to the story. As the reader gets immersed in the story, the length of the book is easily forgotten. With a simple but slick cover design and strong characterizations, The Leeway Towers is a must read as the book is an all-round winner, as it scores on all parameters. #bookreviews #bookblogger #indianauthors #books #bookblog #bookstagram #bloggergram #bookstoread2019 #bookworm #bookstagrammer #readersofinstagram #reading #authors #vinfluencers

✨BOOK REVIEW✨ . The Leeway Towers by @abhih.singh . . It took me a while to finish this one! Nevertheless, it proved to be a thought provoking story for me. This book, The Leeway Towers by Author Abhi’s Singh, highlights some aspects of the social, cultural and political issues being faced globally today! The fact that the whole world is running out of resources and the time isn’t far when there will be wars among nations to fight for things as basic as water, food and shelter. So the inspiration of the author is quite evident. And I’m glad someone finally picked up the much needed issues to be addressed. Through the story of a young boy named Kali, and his grandpa as the main characters, the author has perfectly described the scenario in 2 parts, in the years 2020 and 2034. The book is slow paced but every paragraph, everything about the story makes you think about what the world is becoming today and also works as an eye opener, to take precautions because if we don’t, then we might have to face the consequences regardless of whether we are at fault or not. I loved the narration, however at some points there were details which kinda felt dragged, but all in all the story was a great read and most importantly, I learnt a lot from it. Title and cover are also quite intriguing and attractive, which is why in the first place I bought this book! Cheers to Abhih for curating such a powerful book. . . #theleewaytowers #abhihsingh #bookreview #bookblogger #indianbookblogger #indianbookreviewer #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #paperbackreview #kindle #ebook #amazonprime #amazonbooks #amazonbookstore #goodreads

QOTD - What's your weekend plan? . . Book Review - 124 . . Title - The Leeway Towers Author - Abhih Singh Publisher - Frog Books Genre - fiction Pages - 401 Format - paperback . . The plot of the story is divided into two parts - First part is set up in 2020 (present) in an island in the Indian Ocean. Due to over population there is a fight over resources, growing unemployment and corruption which results into civil war. Kal, (only school boy at that time) our protagonist finds his life radically altered by the conflict.  Second part is set up in 2034(future) where he finds peace and organisation all over the place after returning from Australia. But there's something odd about the order. Does a fringe group hold answers?  Grab the book to find out. . . Review - 1) The cover of the book is beautiful but non relatable and the title of the book is eye catchy.  2) The plot of the story is deep and amazing. In this book the author talks about political, social, cultural and environmental issues.  3) The first part seems to be realistic because the author highlights the current situation of the world in which we live like overpopulation, lack of resources etc.  4) The language used in this book is simple and the writing style of the author is good. I liked the conversational style of writing.  5) The characters are very well developed and described by the author. I liked the character of Kal which is very much sensitive.  6) The quality of pages and printing is very good.  7) The pace of the story could have been faster.  8) Overall, a good fictional story which is full of motivation. . . Rating - 4.7/5 . . I highly recommend this book to all. . . . Follow @motivationaldailythoughts for more...

Author Interview - 5 . . Swipe 👉 for author's picture . . . Hello everyone, Today I am going to introduce you to the author of 'The Leeway Towers' . . Interview - 1. First of all introduce yourself I’m Abhih Singh, an author and music artist currently living in Pune. My education is in Liberal Arts, and International Relations. I’ve written two books so far, Roving in the Shine (2015), and The Leeway Towers (2018). I produce music using the alias Hill of Non. . . 2. Did you always want to become a writer? I’ve been interested in storytelling from a young age. My mother used to sing and read to us brothers, and my father used to tell us unique, creative stories about elephants. However it was only during my late teens, upon advice from my uncle, that I began a formal writing practice. . . 3. How would you introduce your book ‘The Leeway Towers’? The Leeway Towers is a political story set in the near future, on an island in the Indian Ocean named the Isle of Flora (IF), a place where corruption, environmental degradation, and unemployment create civil war conditions. Kal’s (the protagonist) home city Lear goes through radical changes, and he returns years later from refuge to find a place transformed from chaos to a beacon of order. But this control is maintained by technological means, and he finds himself aligned with an underground group intent on opposing the system. . . 4. What inspired you to write this book? I’m interested in public behaviour and it’s influences, be it media, faith, myth, advertising, culture, ideology, or force. The book is an exploration of dire projections, considering the quest for endless growth; and radically coercive, totalitarian solutions. A significant aspect may be described as design fiction, imagining contexts that technological advancement may bring about. The near future seems volatile and full of strange possibilities – that’s what inspired me to write this book. . . 5. Describe ‘The Leeway Towers’ in one line. The Leeway Towers is a science/design fiction political drama. 6. Are you planning other books? How soon can your readers ...continue on my blog. Link in bio. . . . R E V I E W #qotd: What is something that you learned in the last week? _____________________ The beginning of the book is a pretty good representation of how the world is right now. It has it all, pollution, corruption, unemployment; enough to make one depressed. Kal is a lovely boy going on about his life with his grandfather. In the second part, Kal returns to see the world changed and something just doesn't fit right. _____________________ 1) The typeface is comfortable with outstanding quality of pages. The text is error-free as far as I am concerned. 2) Lots of scenarios were being narrated simultaneously. A very good job was done. 3) A variety of characters and plot-points were introduced. It gave me fantasy-vibes. 4) The language is damn too easy. Almost conversation types. Some of the parts, I felt, were stretched out. It might have made me drop the book, but I returned for Kal. 5) The character development is commendable. _____________________ I would recommend this book to those who are into dystopian literature and would love to discuss the current situation of our society. _____________________ HASHTAGS: #bookstagramfeature #unitedbookstagram #bookish #booklover #bibliophile #booksbooksbooks #reviews #green #parksandrec #booksandtrees #booksbooksbooks #igreads #theleewaytowers #bookster #bookphotography #alwaysreading #bookaddict #literature #booksarelife #bookworm #booknerdigan

This story managed to be both fascinating and disturbing at the same time! Throughout the pages, I couldn't fathom how spot-on Author Abhih Singh was in his predictions. Mmany passages in this book were scary but also true of our world today (or at least, they could quickly become true). I loved this book, The Leeway Towers, simply because it was amazing to read about a society in which everyone is controlled. You can't even have your thoughts for yourself. Even though this novel was written recently, I think it is extremely important that people of today read it, simply because it touches on universal topics that will always be true and relevant. I think that everyone could learn from reading this story; it definitely leaves you with lots of things to think about and consider. This is a wonderful book! Simply read it; I'm pretty sure you will not regret it. The Leeway Towers by Abhih Singh is a book everyone should read. Not because it should be classified under science fiction, nor because it explores entirely new aspects of human nature, and nor even because of the breathtaking imagination of Author Abhih Singh, but because of the simple fact that if we want to “survive,” it can be crucial for our survival and of our world as we know it. ⠀ ⠀ One of my favorite books is The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoevsky. I believe that human beings are capable of doing what Dostoyevsky outlined and the world would be a far better place if they do. I can surmise that it is my favorite book because it talks about the world as I want it and think that it should be. But the perfect world can be entirely different for each and every one of us.⠀ ⠀ But The Leeway Towers talks exactly about the opposite and in this lies the reason why I think everyone should read it: it talks about a world surely enough nobody wants to live in. Dostoyevsky’s world can be realized with enormous effort, whereas Abhih Singh's can be realized when no effort is done to change it from what it has become. The world the book discusses is imminent if not already here.⠀ The Leeway Towers by Abhih Singh (@Abhih.Singh)⠀ ⠀ Available on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2KrW2NM⠀ ⠀ #TheLeewayTowers #AbhihSingh #ScienceFiction #BookishElf #ReadersLoveBook #Bookstagram #Bookstagrammer #BookWorm #IGBooks #IGReads #Books #Reader #BookLover #BookLove #BookAddict #Fiction #ReadersCorner #Bibliophile #BookNerd #Bookish #Literature #ILoveBooks #BookBlogger #AmReading

At this point Kal is a young boy living in the city with his stern grandfather, caught up in schoolwork and social anxieties stemming from the consumerist nature of Lear. Part Two picks up several years later, when Kal revisits the IF after living in Australia. The Lear he encounters is an entirely changed place, highly ordered, sparser looking, and with a population that’s oddly quiet. More than anything, The Leeway Tower is the core of dystopia. It shows us everything that is wrong with our world, everything that has been wrong with it, and most importantly, everything that could go wrong in the future. In addition to presenting the reader with a possible future that to most of us would seem like our worst nightmare, it has a philosophical core bound to enlighten just about anyone on a thing or two. #TheLeewayTowers #BookishElf #BookReview

The world the book discusses is imminent if not already here.⠀ ⠀ Part One of the book The Leeway Towers follows Kal and scenes from different settings to build a mosaic image of the place. At this point Kal is a young boy living in the city with his stern grandfather, caught up in schoolwork and social anxieties stemming from the consumerist nature of Lear.⠀ ⠀ Part Two picks up several years later, when Kal revisits the IF after living in Australia. The Lear he encounters is an entirely changed place, highly ordered, sparser looking, and with a population that’s oddly quiet. ⠀ ⠀ More than anything, The Leeway Tower is the core of dystopia. It shows us everything that is wrong with our world, everything that has been wrong with it, and most importantly, everything that could go wrong in the future.⠀ ⠀ In addition to presenting the reader with a possible future that to most of us would seem like our worst nightmare, it has a philosophical core bound to enlighten just about anyone on a thing or two.⠀ ⠀ #TheLeewayTowers #BookishElf #BookReview

Part One follows Kal and scenes from different settings to build a mosaic image of the place. At this point Kal is a young boy living in the city with his stern grandfather, caught up in schoolwork and social anxieties stemming from the consumerist nature of Lear. The other scenes depict the build-up of discontentment amongst various groups in different locations in the IF, leading eventually to armed revolt. Nawaz, Pradhan, Rana, and Sammy are the rebels at the heart of the struggle. The conflict eventually reaches Kal and his life is changed after a series of explosions lead to the loss of his grandfather. He escapes to his parents’ home, and they all leave by boat as refugees. Part Two picks up several years later, when Kal revisits the IF after living in Australia. The Lear he encounters is an entirely changed place, highly ordered, sparser looking, and with a population that’s oddly quiet. Kal makes friends and explores parts of the city, notably The Pink Range, where food is grown, and The Pedal Units, where a large section of the population is kept occupied making electricity via cycle generators. The remarkable changes in the look and feel of the place, and its people, leave Kal feeling uneasy, leading him to suspect some form of oppression. Kal makes friends and explores parts of the city, notably The Pink Range, where food is grown, and The Pedal Units, where a large section of the population is kept occupied making electricity via cycle generators.⠀ ⠀ The remarkable changes in the look and feel of the place, and its people, leave Kal feeling uneasy, leading him to suspect some form of oppression.⠀ ⠀ The Leeway Towers by Abhih Singh (@Abhih.Singh)⠀ ⠀ Available on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2KrW2NM⠀ ⠀ #TheLeewayTowers #AbhihSingh #ScienceFiction #BookishElf #ReadersLoveBook #Bookstagram #Bookstagrammer #BookWorm #IGBooks #IGReads #Books #Reader #BookLover #BookLove #BookAddict #Fiction #ReadersCorner #Bibliophile #BookNerd #Bookish #Literature #ILoveBooks #BookBlogger #AmReading

The Leeway Towers is a political story set in the near future, on an island in the Indian Ocean named the Isle of Flora (IF), a place where corruption, environmental degradation, and unemployment create civil war conditions.⠀ ⠀ Kal’s (the protagonist) home city Lear goes through radical changes, and he returns years later from refuge to find a place transformed from chaos to a beacon of order.⠀ But this control is maintained by technological means, and he finds himself aligned with an underground group intent on opposing the system.⠀ ⠀ The Leeway Towers by Abhih Singh (@Abhih.Singh)⠀ ⠀ Available on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2KrW2NM⠀ ⠀ #TheLeewayTowers #AbhihSingh #ScienceFiction #BookishElf #ReadersLoveBook #Bookstagram #Bookstagrammer #BookWorm #IGBooks #IGReads #Books #Reader #BookLover #BookLove #BookAddict #Fiction #ReadersCorner #Bibliophile #BookNerd #Bookish #Literature #ILoveBooks #BookBlogger #AmReading
