I love the way the timeline is set out. Lauren takes us from the present to the past and back again. I feel like everything plays on your emotions so much more that way. When her family home in the Hamptons sells, she decides to head home to help get it ready for the new owner. It’s the summer, she won’t be teaching, and her marriage is in shambles anyway so why not. But he’s there. Again. 🏕UNTIL NEXT SUMMER- Ali Brady - Thank you @alibradybooks and @berkleypub for the ARC, and @marensreads for including me in the #greenteam traveling ARC color wars! - This book gave all the nostalgic summer camp vibes. Set at Camp Chickawah the summer before they have to close down, Jessie decides to host an adult summer camp to try to boost profits. Her ex-camp best friend ends up coming to help, and of course a little bit of romance ensues, as well. I loved the focus on female friendship and seeing Jessie and Hilary work through their past issues and build a stronger friendship. Both of the love interests were also unique but swoon-worthy. If you’re looking for something summery and nostalgic that will leave you with a smile on your face I definitely recommend this one! - QOTD: Did you go to summer camp as a kid? Because I was in a 3 month slump where I didn’t wanna read, consume book content and had no interest in books. And then I picked this up and the love reignited. Malibu Rising is one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read - it follows the life of the Riva family; Mick and June and their kids Nina, Jay, Hud and Kit. The story is so interesting since it takes place in one singular day, on the day of the annual Riva end of summer party. But, within the first part of the book, we get flashbacks to the 60s where we see the love story between Mick and June unravel. 🌊🪩🐚🌅🏄🏼♂️🌤️ The characters were so challenged, fascinating and loveable. June had my whole heart, and I was breaking with her. She deserved so much more than what she was given:( and then the kids, Nina was so strong, and she took everything in her to make her family whole. Even if it broke her in the process. Also, Mick Riva was quite literally everywhere except with his kids???? he truly was scum of the earth 🤍 ☼.⋆｡𖦹 °˖ If you haven’t read this one yet, I highly, HIGHLY recommend it. The writing is so magical and keeps you engaged the whole time, and you’ll end up loving these characters so much. It truly is such an amazing book, and one that will forever be a favourite of mine. Btw, Taylor wrote TTPD about Mick and June, I will not be taking criticism on that bc just LOOK AT THOSE LYRICS???? Q. Do you have any fun summer plans yet? I had my winter coat on this morning, so even though these wee flowers are coming up, it’s hard to think about summer. Abby Jimenez’s Just for the Summer definitely got me craving some cottage time. My favourite part of this book was the friendship between travel nurses Emma (our heroine) and Maddy. I’d love to read a book about their adventures together. The romance is fun, with a dorky and sweet hero. This novel isn’t as light and fun as the cover implies though — it digs into Emma’s childhood trauma from a neglectful mother, and Justin’s struggles raising his younger siblings. I like romcoms that include a mix of laughter and pathos, so this worked for me. I wish Emma had been a more defined character (I’d love to know more about her job or hobbies), but overall I enjoyed this one. ⭐⭐⭐1/2
Honestly, this book was a rollercoaster. I convinced myself I knew the plot twists so much that I lost interest halfway through and then had the shock of learning I was wrong (about 3 times...) 🙈 This is a quick and easy read. It follows a woman called Gabrielle, the only survivor of a serial killer called The Tube Killer. Struggling with PTSD, she flees London and moves to a remote part of Cornwall to run a bookshop. After she witnesses a murder, she questions her own sanity and tries to piece her life back together. I would have rated this higher, but the writing itself had some questionable moments for me. The POV changed continuously throughout conversations, which I find difficult to follow personally. The epilogue was also very unnecessary and cringeworthy. Overall, a fun book that keeps you guessing to the end. Had the book been a little longer, we might have gotten more character depth, but a solid recommendation for a light murder mystery.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 stars!! Abby Jimenez does it again! Just for the Summer is the perfect beach read. All of the characters are so lovable you can’t help but become so invested in their lives! Abby does an amazing job of doing her research which is one of the reasons why it’s so easy to become immersed in her stories. Upon first glance, I wondered how a rom-com could possibly be 400 pages long. However, this book touches on way more than just Emma and Justin falling in love. That being said, definitely check trigger warnings before reading this novel as it deals with familial issues, mental health disorders, etc. Despite the heavy topics, this book was fun and lighthearted. I almost did not pick this one up because I did not care for the second one, but I am glad I did. I really enjoyed learning much more about Meddy’s culture, and thought the Aunts were much more tolerable in this one. I love that the aunts are ride-or-die for another even though they bicker endlessly. Like the other books, I found the plot to be completely outlandish and over the top, but in this book it somehow worked. 💥Book review💥 "Το Μένος" ✒Alex Michaelides 📚@dioptrabooks Σελ.358 🔹️Ανάμεικτα θα έλεγα τα συναισθήματα γι αυτό το βιβλίο, ούτε κρύο ούτε ζέστη. Δεν ήξερα την υπόθεση αλλά έχοντας διαβάσει την σιωπηλή ασθενή το πήρα με κλειστά μάτια. 🔹️Σε ένα μικρό ιδιωτικό νησί απέναντι από τη Μύκονο η σταρ του κινηματογράφου Λάνα Φάραρ καλεί την παρέα της να περάσουν εκεί το Πάσχα. Οι 7 ας πούμε φίλοι καταλήγουν 6, ένας είναι νεκρός, ο δράστης είναι ανάμεσα τους. Λόγω του μένους(πολύ δυνατός αέρας) παγιδεύονται στο νησί. Εκεί ξεκινάει το δυνατό μέρος της ιστορίας, από τη μέση και μετά γιατί στην αρχή ήταν πιο γενικές πληροφορίες χτίζοντας το προφίλ των πρωταγωνιστών. 🔹️Σε γενικές γραμμές με ξένισε κάπως η γραφή ώντας τριτοπρόσωπη αλλά με τον αφηγητή να συμμετέχει, βέβαια δεν μπορώ να μην αναγνωρίσω το ποσό δύσκολος και έξυπνος είναι αυτός ο ιδιαίτερος τρόπος γραφής. Σε πολλά σημεία μιλούσε απευθείας στον αναγνώστη. 🔹️Δεν συμπάθησα ιδιαίτερα κάποιο χαρακτήρα ούτε μου δημιούργησε έντονα συναισθήματα όπως σε άλλα θρίλερ. Είχε ανατροπές αλλά όχι αυτές που θα γουρλώσεις τα μάτια και θα πεις ΤΙΙΙ;; Κάπου έπεσα μέσα με τις προβλέψεις μου και κάπου απλά είπα οκει αυτό ήταν. AUDIOBOOK REVIEW Title: Secretly yours Author: Tessa Bailey Length: 384 Genre: Romance Rating: 3.6/5.0 Reading Secretly yours was a fun experience. The main element that made the romance fun was the vastly different personalities of Hallie and Julian. While Julian is a disciplined, uptight college professor, Hallie is chaotic and is unable to keep a schedule. This difference in personalities created an entertaining dynamic. However, I thought the relationship development missed depth. I wanted to see more connection to be completely convinced that these two characters should be together. The main conflict in their relationship was their different personalities. This was convincing in the beginning of the book, but the repetitive argumentation became frustrating in the end. Especially Hallie used their personalities as an excuse to self-sabotage the relationship. The cast of characters was entertaining. While not completely well-rounded, both Hallie and Julian demonstrated enough depth in their characters to be relatable or to sympathise with. I would have liked to see a little more character growth, but overall, they were likeable protagonist. I also enjoyed the relationships the protagonist had with their friends and family. They had fun personalities and added necessary commentary or criticism on the behaviour of the protagonists. The story was set in a small town in the Napa Valley. The descriptions of the wineries and the gardens created a summery atmosphere. While there were some details about wine making, it was not essential to the story. Also, the community aspect of a small-town romance was not as present as it could have been. In conclusion, Secretly yours is a solid romance perfect for the warmer months.
