I’m going to be very raw and vulnerable, this is a picture of neurons in the brain. When one has a stress disorder, neuroplasticity is used as a way for one to essentially rewire their brains to overcome illnesses such as Bipolar, GAD, Depression, etc. So if you understand the lyrics to this song The Reeling, you can empathize with lead singer Michael Angelakos who has Bipolar Disorder and he pours his feelings into a lot of his music. I hadn’t posted on IG in awhile because I’d been a bit distracted! I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer on July 26 and have just finished 6 weeks of daily radiation and 2 full weeks, beginning and ending with radiation with my wearing a fanny pack with around the clock chemo! This event was on Thursday. I rang the bell feverishly to indicate the last of my treatments! HOWEVER, ringing the bell DOES NOT indicate that one is cancer-free! I’m claiming the VICTORY of Healing. Is there ever a time in your busy life, because all of out lives are busy, that something just hits you at one specific moment and someone Special pops into your mind that has helped you through a tough time? They didn’t have to reach out to you, they didn’t have to help you through a tough time, they just did it on their own because they care about you? You make time for the people you care about and that are important to you, no matter how busy you are. I can say, YES this has happened to me and I’m so blessed and grateful…I never expected it. I experienced it with MANY people when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and all the Messages, Cards, Texts, gifts and still checking in on me. I can’t Thank everyone enough. It’s Mental health awareness month. Thank God (literally) it’s gaining attention, becoming more talked about, less shameful. I’ve always been drawn to being an advocate for mental health issues-the thing that people never talk about, never seem to show signs of, and yet it absolutely cripples and kills 100s of thousands ever day!!! I’ve struggled like HELL at times since very, very young. Even as a teenager when no one else was into it and it was never talked about, I literally asked...actually pleaded, to please be allowed to go to counseling or therapy. But I was “high achieving”, outgoing, social, friendly, positive. I didn’t “need” it. Oh that shit proved to be wrong! I believe deeply in understanding and acknowledging that emotions and mental health rob us of physical health through diseases, illnesses, addictions. Not to mention those that succumb to the internal pressures and resort to suicide. I’ve dedicated a lot of my time and life volunteering as a peer counselor, grief facilitator, becoming a holistic health counselor/coach, and NLP practitioner. I’m constantly learning, listening, watching, monitoring studying the latest in psychology/mental health/mind-body. I’ve created programs for PTSD people and EAPs focusing on “tough guy” industries. My intuitive information in reading sessions & coaching is very largely, sometimes wholly, information and insight to share on the mental roots that are causing life, relationship, business, and/or health issues. I’m not just passionate about it, my heart lurches and my soul silently screams, “we have to help!!! We must pay attention and stop people from hurting-even if only a little.” I could write about the reasons it benefits us all in business and society to pay attention for DAYS! Today is world suicide prevention day. It’s so important that we talk to each other openly and honestly. We all hurt sometimes. We all experience loss. I could be wrong but I suspect that we all have demons and we all experience darkness and despair at times. But that’s all temporary. Why does it feel so hopeless for some? I think the challenge is in getting those most vulnerable among us to realize that’s it ok to fall apart sometimes. To help them to know that we all feel less than perfect no matter what it looks like on the outside. And to continue talking so that we make it clear that there is also light. Way more light. Way more good moments than bad. Way more joy than sorrow. Many more things to hang in there for, hold onto and look forward to than reasons to give up. We need to teach our children and young adults that whatever it is will feel better after they talk about it. And we need to end the stigma of asking for help. I struggle big time with asking for help. Just in ordinary tasks. I just can’t do it. I can’t explain why. Don’t know if it’s pride, ego, fear of failure, fear of rejection. So I can’t imagine the challenge when it’s serious rescuing you need. So let’s all practice. Just ask for help. And of course No judgment. Just support. For those who do ask for help. My door is always open. And there is always coffee and wine. And tons of dirty dishes and laundry and clutter is really we’re all a hot mess in one form or another. Some on the inside some on the outside. 💜

The Coffee Forward Movement is an advocacy to keep our connectedness alive. In this day that we tend to be connected to everyone, we are connected to no one. The mission is really simple: You can start by asking someone out for a coffeeforward date and its your task to treat the person and just ask the person “What do you feel like saying?”. You can engage in the conversation or you can simply just listen but whats more important is that you just be there for that person—- no judgements and just be present for that person. At the end of your coffeeforward date... tell the person, “thank you for allowing me to be there for you or thank you for sharing yourself to me....now its your turn to coffee forward date someone.” The person then pays-it-forward. 🎇🎆Bringing in 2018 w/ my loves! 🎆🎇 As I reflect on 2017, I can't help but feel emotional, grateful and excited! 2017 has been my year of change. I have transformed physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Not only have I been fighing the biggest battle of my life, I also said goodbye to my sweet grandma. 2017 was filled w/ ups and downs as it was for so many people. Some know the journey i have been on, some do not. I feel it is time to start to share a little bit of my story. 2017 has been the hardest and also the BEST year of my life! When I was 17 years old I developed an eating disorder. I struggled in darkness and alone for 15+ years of my life. For the past year, I've fought like hell to get better. To recover. I didnt know if I could ever recover but I knew I had to try. I had to because my life was falling apart. My health was deteriorating. Everything was slipping away. I was in such darkness. It hasn't been easy but its been SO worth it! I would do it over 1000 times to be free as I am today! Today I am proud to say I am free from the shackles of bulimia. I wouldn't be where I am today without my amazing loving husband, sister, family and ED coach. Each has played a vital role in my recovery and I am forever grateful!!!❤ As I sit here shaking with fear before hitting that "share" button, I want to thank you for taking the time to read this. Sharing my story is something that has been on my mind for some time. 2018 is going to be the year where I finally get to live free! To finally enjoy all my hard work. To fully experience all the joys that life has to offer! Because life is beautiful and far too short. Live in the moment. Have no regrets. Love madly. Step out of your comfort zone and do what you fear the most. For that is where you will find the greatest gifts. All my love! Cheers to 2018!

T.Holmes Foundation's Santa's Secret Mission has wrapped up and was a HUGE success! 2,922 Christmas cards collected! 34 grandparents adopted! 4 big gift baskets made for 4 local senior centers! 27 gift bags made! Plus on top.of that over a 120 goodie bags! With a few items left over for next year's event! All items have been donated to local nursing homes, a private facility, a mental health facility and to homeless shelters! a huge thank you to the T.
