Číslo 20 • Nález mrtvého muže na černé skládce, jehož tělo už stihly napůl ohlodat krysy, je sice drsný, ale detektiv Adam Bishop už si zvykl na ledacos. Když však kousek od oběti objeví nastříkané číslo XII a nedaleko číslo XIV, dojde mu krutá skutečnost: mezi odpadky se tu nejspíš nachází mrtvol víc. Hon na sériového vraha se rozbíhá – a velice brzy se Adama začne dotýkat i osobně. Zná totiž toho, kdo stanovil první číslo – dvacet – a zahájil odpočítávání. Sice ho chytili a uvěznili, ale zdá se, že ani mříže nezabrání tomu, aby bylo jeho hrůzné dílo dokončeno. • Kniha mi byla poskytnuta v rámci #spoluprace s @knihkupectvi_luxor za účelem recenze. • Za mě bohužel zklamání. Nebudu chodit kolem horké kaše a řeknu hned proč. V podstatě mi tam vadily dvě věci. Zpočátku jsem se nemohla moc začíst, děj mi nepřišel tak zajímavý, ale hlavně mi tam chybělo mi tam napětí, což je u thrilleru docela podstatný bod. Druhá věc je, že velmi podobný příběh jsem už letos jednou četla, ale napsala ho Freida McFadden pod názvem Za zamčenými dveřmi. A tady bych podotkla, že Za zamčenými dveřmi vyšlo v originále už v roce 2021.Těch podobností tam bylo opravdu hodně a celou dobu jsem si říkala, pokud se Sam Holland u Freidy inspirovala (diplomaticky řečeno), mohla ten příběh napsat aspoň lépe než Freida, ale nestalo se. Chyběla mi tam tak nějaká originalita, něco, čím by se tento thriller odlišil. Číslo 20 je ale takový ten klasický thriller, kdy mrtvol přibývá, policie tápe a osobní život hlavního vyšetřovatele je na nic, takže za mě nic nového. Co vy? Četli jste knihu? Adam Bishop vaikutti aluksi hieman ärsyttävän klassiselta kylmältä miespoliisilta, jota ei ylemmän tahon määräykset tai edes laki kosketa, mutta tarinan edetessä hahmo kehittyi ja näytti aivan toisenlaisen puolen. Romilly Colen hahmo taas oli oiva esimerkki sinnikkyydestä ja päättäväisyydestä. Kun on jo itse vaikeaa luottaa täysillä omiin vaistoihinsa, saati saada myös muut luottamaan niihin. Opin jo The Echo Manin kohdalla, että näissä kirjoissa ei kannata liiaksi kiintyä yhteenkään hahmoon, sillä kirjojen murhaajia ei paljoa kiinnosta onko joku tärkeä hahmo vai ei. Porukkaa niitetään kuin viljaa sadonkorjuun aikaan ja koko aika saa olla haukkomassa epäuskoisena henkeä ja pelkäämässä jäljellä olevien suosikkiensa puolesta. Mam nadzieję, że majówka mija Wam w radosnej atmosferze, bo pogody chyba nie mogliśmy sobie wymarzyć lepszej. Spędzacie ją w domu, czy wyjechaliście gdzie na odpoczynek? Przedstawiam Wam ostatnią z książek, jakie przeczytałam w kwietniu. Kiedy ją kupowałam kilka miesięcy temu, nie wiedziałam nawet, że w międzyczasie będę miała okazję przeczytać "Dwadzieścia", czyli drugi tom serii. Poprzeczka była zawieszona bardzo wysoko, więc odrobinę bałam się rozczarowania "Echo manem". Skąd tytuł? Fabuła oparta jest na seryjnym zabójcy, który w swoich zbrodniach wzoruje się na najsłynniejszych mordercach. Nie zna litości, nie ma zahamowań, a popełniane przez niego czyny są naprawdę makabryczne i okrutne. Jednocześnie trudno znaleźć jego trop, przewidzieć kolejny krok, gdyż w historii kryminalistyki seryjnych morderców nie brakowało... Na kim kolejnym razem będzie się wzorował? Kto stanie się jego ofiarą? Jak go powstrzymać? "Echo man" to powieść dla ludzi o stalowych nerwach. Atmosfera ciągłej gonitwy z czasem, by uratować niewinnych ludzi, nie pozwala odłożyć książki ani na chwilę. Choć to irracjonalne, miałam ochotę nie jeść, nie pić, nie spać, byleby nie robić przerw w poszukiwaniu psychopatycznego mordercy wraz ze śledczymi. Jeśli już o śledczych mowa - ogromnie podobały mi się postacie, stworzone przez autorkę - wyraziste, dalekie od doskonałości, pokaleczone przez życie, niezwykle interesujące. Zapewne gdyby nie one, sama fabuła, oparta na naśladowaniu niechlubnych seryjniaków, choć naprawdę pomysłowa, nie wciągnęłaby czytelnika w sposób tak emocjonujący. Wraz z bohaterami przeżywałam każdy odkryty kawałek układanki, odczuwałam bezsilność, gdy nic nie szło po ich myśli. Czuję się w obowiązku zaznaczyć, że nie jest to książka dla osób, których obrzydzają naturalistyczne opisy okaleczonych ciał, krwawe miejsca zbrodni i brutalność, wylewająca się niemal z każdej strony powieści. One mogą wywołać niesmak i przerażenie. Ale... nie u mnie 😀. Dla mnie była to jedna z lepszych książek, jakie czytałam w minionym miesiącu. I didn’t know this was the second book in a series when I picked it up but it can be read as a stand alone without giving away what happened in the first book. This book has multiple POVs and left me throughly hooked all the way through. Not only do we get the detectives thoughts and POV but also the killers. I did not see who the killer was coming! And that’s the best part about reading one of these books, where the author can lead you down a path but keep you from fully figuring it out until the reveal. Recenzní výtisk mi byl poskytnut v rámci spolupráce s @knihkupectvi_luxor za účelem recenze. #spoluprace Na skládce jsou nalezeny mrtvoly a u nich jsou napsaná čísla, která značí, že se rozhodně nejedná o vrahovi poslední oběti. Adam Bishop a jeho tým se ujímají případu a snaží se dopadnout sériového vraha dřív, než stihne udeřit. Jenže všechno se zkomplikuje, když to začne vypadat, že vraždy spáchal muž, který je zavřen na doživotí. Je to jen náhoda, nebo skutečně tahá za nitky? Ačkoli se mi líbil autorčin styl psaní v její knize Kopírák, tentokrát mi sedl ještě o chlup víc. Příběh působí mnohem uceleněji, ale zároveň mu nechybí popisnost ani dynamičnost. Tentokrát přišla autorka s originálním nápadem, který se mi moc líbil a čtení jsem si tak užívala. V knize proplétá případ se soukromými životy jednotlivých členů týmu, což tvoří ještě zajímavější celek. Navíc si autorka nebere servítky a troufne si i na to, čemu by se jiní autoři vyhnuli. I když jsem z příběhu svým způsobem nadšenější než z Kopíráka, tak je tady několik věcí, které mi celkový požitek kazily. Autorka přišla s „překvapivým zvratem“, který nebyl vůbec překvapivý, protože ho použilo už mnoho autorů před ní. Navíc jsem si od chvíle, kdy se v knize objevila jedna osoba, říkala, že určitě bude v případu nějak zapletená a bylo to tak. Když jsem se nad knihou zamyslela po jejím dočtení, uvědomila jsem si, že autorka postupovala podle stejné kostry jako v případě Kopíráka, což knize také ubralo na atraktivitě. Postavám nemůžu nic vytknout. Od začátku jsem neměla problém se v nich zorientovat a autorka je popsala i do hloubky, takže jsem si k nim našla cestu. Navíc mě potěšilo, že se v příběhu objevilo i několik postav z Kopíráka, čímž autorka obě knihy ze série The Major Crimes propojila. V mnoha ohledech je Číslo 20 lepší než Kopírák, ale celkově musím knihu hodnotit hůř kvůli předvídatelnosti a opakováním vzorců, které jí ubraly na napínavosti. Ale i přesto jsem si knihu užila a moc ji doporučuji. ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Chystáte se na Číslo 20? Čtete rádi knihy o fiktivních sériových vrazích? Za każdym razem sprawca stosuje inne wyrafinowane metody, zawsze jest bezwzględny i niezwykle okrutny. Jego działań nie da się przewidzieć. Policja nie dostrzega między zbrodniami żadnego związku. W śledztwie prowadzonym przez dwójkę detektywów dochodzi w końcu do przełomu. Pojawia się teoria o naśladowcy, czyli zabójcy, który kopiuje najbardziej osławionych seryjnych morderców.. Będzie krótko i bez ściemy. Ależ to było dobre, mroczne, brutalne, krwawe i pokręcone. Włosy stawały mi dęba kiedy czytałam o tym do czego zdolny jest człowiek gotowy zaspokoić swoje rządze. Jak bardzo pokręcona musi być psychika człowieka zdolnego do tak makabrycznych zachowań? Číslo 20 - Sam Holland ~“Další nervydrásající thriller od autorky bestsellerového Kopíráka.”~ Na nelegální skládce je objeveno tělo v zuboženém stavu, napůl sežrané krysami. Hned vedle nacházíme nastříkanou římskou číslici XII a kousek opodál v suti XIV. Nalezená mrtvola zřejmě nebude jediná. Policie čelí sériovému vrahovi, který oběti odpočítává. Ale to není to nejhorší. Detektiv Adam Bishop nejspíše zná vraha, který odpočet započal. A tato spojitost má dosah jak do jeho profesního, tak i do soukromého života. V cestě za dopadením však stojí jeden zádrhel. Vrah sedí už pěkných pár let za mřížemi, ale odpočet, který před několika lety začal na čísle 20, i přesto pokračuje. Kniha jako taková byla fajn, ale první polovina spíše slabší. Zbytek se začal trošku rozjíždět, místy se objevuje i napětí (blbý je, když se do téhle fáze dostanete v 10 večer 😁). Navíc po odhalení pachatele přichází v posledních kapitolách dovětek, kterým nás autorka navnadila na další pokračování. Co hodnotím určitě kladně, je hlavní postava. Detektiv Adam Bishop je sympaťák a má něco do sebe. Označení “nervydrásající” považuju za trošku nadhodnocené, ale je to těžké, když už má člověk o sériových vrazích něco načteno. Autorčinu první knihu Kopírák jsem nečetla, a zatím se na můj wishlist nejspíš nedostane. To było niesamowite! Od prologu aż po epilog ta książka trzymała mnie w napięciu! Już dawno nie czytałam tak dobrze skonstruowanego thrillera! Autorka dołożyła wszelkich starań, by czytelnik poczuł strach i niepewność. By poznał zło, które wzięło górę nad człowieczeństwem. To genialny thriller, który jest obowiązkowy dla fanów gatunku! „Dwadzieścia” to druga część cyklu Major Crimes. Nie czytałam pierwszej części i początkowo byłam pełna obaw, czy odnajdę się w akcji, która z rozdziału na rozdział rozwijała się w szybkim tempie. Przypuszczam, że znajomość pierwszej części jest pomocna w odbiorze, ale z drugiej strony jestem przykładem, że można, czytać „Dwadzieścia” nie znając fabuły „Echo Mana”. „Dwadzieścia” to najlepszy thriller, jaki w tym roku czytałam. Piszę to z pełną świadomością, ponieważ wciąż czuję jego klimat i obezwładniający strach, który paraliżuje moje emocje. Zło czające się w człowieku i sposoby, by je okazać, są niesamowicie realnie przedstawione. Traumatyczna przeszłość, która bierze w posiadanie duszę małego chłopca i pcha go w otchłań zemsty. Pragnienie miłości i akceptacji, które staje się motorem napędowym zbrodni. Makabryczne opisy okaleczonych ciał, dzikie wysypisko śmieci, wszechobecna śmierć i wyścig z czasem. To wszystko tworzy wyjątkowo mroczny klimat, który nie tylko trzymał mnie w ciągłym napięciu, ale też zmuszał do przemyśleń na temat czarnej strony człowieczeństwa, która tak często ostatnio się uaktywnia. Lubię mrożące krew w żyłach powieści, które nie pozwalają na szybkie odgadnięcie meritum zbrodni, które w pokrętny sposób krążą wokół sprawcy i mylą tropy, które nieustannie podsycają napięcie. Książka Sam Holland posiada to wszystko! Doskonale skomponowane elementy thrillera i kryminału porywają czytelnika w wir toczących się wydarzeń. Bijzonder wel dat dat voor mij een goed boek kenmerkt 😉 Prima los te lezen van de echoman. Trigger warning: huiselijk geweld en kindermishandeling Flaptekst In het holst van de nacht arriveert rechercheur Adam Bishop op de plek waar een flink toegetakeld lichaam is ontdekt. Het is een gruwelijk tafereel, maar het met spuitbus aangebrachte cijfer boven het lijk bezorgt Adam pas écht koude rillingen. Er zijn namelijk al meer slachtoffers, en bij elk lichaam is een nummer gevonden: 20, 19, 18… De moordenaar telt af, maar waarom? Adam heeft geen idee wat het motief is, totdat dr. Romilly Cole bij hem aanklopt en hem erop wijst dat de zaak overeenkomsten vertoont met een reeks moorden die vijfentwintig jaar geleden plaatsvond.
