A fabulous birthday filled with delicious goodies! This is the first day in 11 MONTHS since joining slimming world that I’ve gone over my syns and not actually counted them. Today’s lunch was leftovers as I still hadn’t made a soup but at least this time it was syn free. I also struggled to get up this morning and took two hifis for breakfast but then got all too easily swayed to buy some toast from the canteen at work which was delicious but 18 syns worth. I know I’m not sleeping well which is making me tired and then not exercising which is all leading to me eating more crap and feeling like crap so I need to snap myself out of it and get back on track. All a bit stressful at work and home but not eating healthily or exercising is making it all worse. I was at a work conference yesterday and had no say over meals! However I tried to control some syns… there was a LOT of chocolate on the tables to enjoy which I only had 1 twirl 🙈 for lunch we had cottage pie and a salad (which had a lot of cheese in!) Dinner was a starter of some soup (no one was sure which but we think vegetable!) dinner was chicken (yes I did eat the skin! I was starving!!) , a potato rosti which definitely had a form of meat shredded into it, onions and potentially aniseed… 🙈 green beans and gravy! Dessert was a banoffee mouse/ cheesecake however I wasn’t feeling this so I ate less than half and left it! Went a little off the rails yesterday but when you go to a lovely cafe after campaigning and they have soooo many different vegan cakes to choose from, what’s a girl supposed to do 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ (orange drizzle btw) I’d started the day carefully planning in my syns (4.5 syns for the hash browns) and had said no to sweets in the car and then the cake happened and then the Mexican good grains pouch (for 4.5 syns) in aid of emptying the freezer and cupboard (turns out I also have an unopened bag of peas) Then I didn’t take a photo of my tea or snacks and decided to open the wine so that tells you everything you need to know about Saturday evening all instead of going out for my run. I have felt like I’ve needed to rest a lot which I know is a little of the viscous circle of not sleeping well, not eating well and not exercising. 🎣 THE FISHPOOL INN 🎣 my Nan’s birthday weekend continued with another lunch today, this time with me, J, my cousin & her partner. we had some delicious food — J and I shared a truffle mushroom flatbread & some crispy pork belly bites and we all had their signature toast for the main — we had roast beef & my cousin who’s a veggie had the nut roast main. we were all stuffed afterwards but still managed to squeeze in a little slice of cake — Tesco’s finest lemon, lime & white chocolate 🤤 we also had some drinks — J 1.5 pints of shandy and I had a Prosecco elderflower spritz 🍸
We are hosting friends this evening for what we affectionately call: "Shit Movie Night". It's exactly as the name suggests, we pick a really bad film to watch and mock / enjoy as a group. Tonight's entertainment is "Samurai Cop" We have put together a selection of food for everyone that I'll definitely be eating, which includes: - jackfruit bao buns (7.5 syns each) - vegan sushi - Asian style slaw (free) - plant based tempura "no prawns" (1.5 syns each) As well as the usual non SW snacks like popcorn, chocolate, crisps, etc. which I'll try avoid / minimise. We have also set up a full bar area in the hope people drink some of the copious amounts of alcohol we have in the house. I should stress that this isn't a sign we have an alcohol problem - we actually drink very little but have amassed a collection through wanting to try things, or having been gifted bottles. I mentioned it twice already in posts today, but I enjoyed afternoon tea with my friend this afternoon. Last day of the over indulgence, which is Christmas as back to work tomorrow. 😭 Wish we were a board game and pub kind of family. Unfortunately, not as getting a basic conversation from my mum is hard enough, never mind adding in fun and laughter. Instead, I had the laziest days, done a bit of housework, and I eventually got around to reading Matthew's book tonight. Dinner was what a lot of people do boxing day pulling the leftovers together, so you don't need to spend another full day in the kitchen. I forgot to buy bread for leftover sandwiches, so vegan bagels with cheese and steak! 😂😂 I love Christmas but not going to lie. I am so glad this year is over with. Who knows, next year might be around people who actually love it as much as i do. Just need to get New years Eve out the way. I always really struggle with it. All that highlights reel from others, i don't envy their happiness. I just wish i could feel some of it sometimes. My new year is always dressed up on my own, usually feeling disappointed in myself, in tears watching Jools Holland realising that the "this year it's going to be different, I'm going to beat the depression, anxiety stop hating myself and find my confidence" never actually happened and everything is just been kind of the same. Really quite and lazy Christmas for me this year. Day is totally off plan as it should be on Christmas day. I did drag myself up to put the war paint and a glitzy dress on to get in the festive spirit. One good thing about Christmas in your own house you don't need to have turkey and I am just going to say it pigs in blankets, not really a fan. So I went for a rump wrapped in a sirloin thing from m&s, and it was amazing. Although I did overcook a little time, it rested, retro prawn cocktail, mums homemade turkey soup and dessert while watching forest gump on the sofa. Now, to have one to ten hendricks! It might not be traditional Christmas fare, but when the shopping is done, presents are all wrapped, dinner is prepped for tomorrow and the house is tidy the last thing I want to do is cook a big meal. In steps my mum with her bacon cheese and chive mac and cheese which is my traditional Christmas eve dinner sitting on the sofa watching Miracle on 34th Street. Not #slimmingworld in the slightest, but if you can ever go "off plan" this is the time of year to do it. It was only 1/2 off for me this week, so I'm still fighting for that 10 1/2 stone loss award, but it'll come being so close to target it was always going to be a slog. It will be chilled Christmas for me this year, no rushing around, no turkey, no high expectations. It was my husband's birthday yesterday and we had friends round to play poker (and drink). I've had a gift voucher for Doner Summer for nearly 2 years. My friend got me a voucher for my birthday the other year and then the Manchester branch closed down. Finally went to the Leeds restaurant today to use the voucher and savour the very non-SW food 😂😂 I had the "bad girl" kebab. A vegan Doner meat, garlic chick'n, salad and sauce on flat bread. My husband had the buttermilk chick'n, and topped tater tots. Dinner - aldi no beef strips fried off with onion and peppers, roasted veg and tilda peri peri rice. 5 syns. Lunch was an unplanned trip to Costa. What a morning! 🤦♀️ Ended up having to rush my dog to the vets after her morning walk as her eyes kept rolling back and she went super lethargic 😬 The vets were brilliant and got her in, they think she’s actually damaged her eye; so she’s now on painkillers and eye drops and feeling super sorry for herself! So my chilled morning of getting ready and having a healthy lunch before going out for tea and a concert with my friend went out the window 😂 just glad my girl is ok though! I didn’t have chance to have my leftover syn free curry before going for my train (decided to still go out - puppy is staying glued to my husbands side!) so ended up picking up a cheese and onion ciabatta and a hot chocolate from the station! Boxing app wasn’t working this morning so popped myself an a different app for 20 minutes, got my heart going but I didn’t enjoy it so literally did 20 minutes and turned my head set off, But it’s 20 minutes done in my final week of my Silver body magic 💪🫶🏻 My favourite app is now back up and running so Will be back on tomorrow for atleast half an hour, I am off plan today but still made sure to get some exercise in even if only 20 minutes.
