After a while of no running because I was fasting with our church I am so glad to get back into it. Started the run yesterday with a SUPER easy 3.8 mile run! 🥵 and had full body strength day because I’m trying to keep away from injuries. It honestly felt great. I only took 2-3 breaks! #firsthalfmarathon I dreamed about it from my first run in July 2020 and now that finally happened. I ran with my heart, which had so many emotions during the race. Purvi has been running with Sportshack since the very beginning. With so many outstanding runs to date, she managed to run a fast 10 km during a tempo run in 51:44 minutes last week. She doesn’t really need the motivation to be consistent for her runs the fear of her not being able to complete the run helps her breakthrough every procrastination that comes her way. For the time trial on Sunday, 13 th March 2022 her goal is to break 49:30 for 10km. It's never too early or too late to start running. Imagine being this consistent and regular with fitness. Tried something different for today’s run. I ran at zone 2 at about 9 to 10 minute miles and an average heart rate of 124, was tuff at first cause your body wants to go faster but settled in about third mile. Have to say I feel great my body doesn’t feel to burnt out and definitely didn’t feel it on my joints. I see many runners on Instagram running at zone two for longer periods of time and seem to be getting faster. Tapping back into speed work 💯 Sometimes it’s about using your head and experience during a training block. Around 2 weeks ago after a speed session I felt my hamstrings really tighten limiting opening my legs for speed. So I listen to my body and held back for 2 weeks still running but at an easy pace keeping the engine ticketing over. Now 6 weeks off race day I realistically have 4 weeks of hard graft to sharpen up my speed to be peaking in 6 weeks 💥 If this was a year ago I would have run myself into the ground and had a injury 💯 It’s So important we learn from our mistakes and listen to what the body is telling us 🙏🏽 Happy with today session over 800ft in elevation 8 solid miles tapping into some speed along the way. Y es por ese motivo por el qué creo que es importante realizar un análisis de sus causas y sus posibles soluciones ⠀⠀ 🤷🏻♂️𝗖𝗔𝗨𝗦𝗔𝗦🤷🏻♂️ ⠀⠀ 1️⃣Lo primero, es aclarar que el origen de una lesión puede ser multifactorial y debemos tener un enfoque global para abordar el problema ⠀⠀ 🔥Esta lesión se puede manifestar a través de una sensación de quemazón en la cara externa de la pierna, normalmente en la cara externa de la rodilla ⠀⠀ ➡️🦵Entre sus causas encontramos la desviación de la rodilla hacia dentro cuando el pie contacta con el suelo, oscilación lateral de las caderas excesivas o la influencia de la fatiga en nuestra forma de correr ⠀⠀ 👉👈Todas estas casusas apuntan a una falta de control ⠀⠀ 👍¿𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗔 𝗠𝗘𝗝𝗢𝗥𝗔𝗥 𝗢 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗥?👍 ⠀⠀ ☝️Como casi siempre, lo primero encontrar el origen. No vale con reposar 2 semanas, ponerse hielos y estar a base de antiinflamatorios. Porque de esa forma, seguro que el dolor para. ⠀⠀ 👎Pero lo más seguro es que cuando vuelvas a correr aparecerá. ¿Por qué? ⠀⠀ ☝️Porque no hemos encontrado el origen de la lesión (Soy y seré muy pesado con este punto siempre)😂 ⠀⠀ 💪El entrenamiento de fuerza, de técnica de carrera 🏃🏻♂️y de propiocepción nos ayudará a: tener un mejor control y estabilidad de nuestra postura al correr, resistir más a los cambios originados por la fatiga y dar fortaleza a músculos como el glúteo medio para evitar ese pico de rotación interna de rodilla ⠀⠀ 👇¿𝙰𝚕𝚐𝚞𝚗𝚊 𝚟𝚎𝚣 𝚑𝚊𝚜 𝚝𝚎𝚗𝚒𝚍𝚘 𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚎 𝚍𝚘𝚕𝚘𝚛? Then and now. It’s a tough hard road. Your have ups and downs days where you can’t get your legs going, days where you have to alter what your meant to be doing as your not right physically or mentally. Stick to your plan, listen to your body respect your body. Recovery is so important. Worry about what your doing and not others as it’s your journey no one else’s. Listen to others and there advice we can always learn from others. My running journey has been an amazing experience. I started off slow and steady averaging 10-20 miles a week. Built up over the year and a half to now 60 plus miles weekly. Its not been easy and had lots of obstacles to overcome. I’ve made friends for life, set up a running club that regularly gets 50-60 local Athletes off there sofa and out in the open @shinfield_running_club 🔵 we are now making another step and adding a junior section headed up by my amazing wife @javier_valentina_sienna 💙. Had my 1st taste of a podium and it’s left me wanting more👍🏽👊🏽 anyone wanting to get into running do come down to @shinfield_running_club or your local @parkrunuk. What ever you do always give your all👊🏽 as you get out what you put in. I always like reflecting on Sunday’s race every race day is a learning curve. This time I learnt not to give up even though when your going through a rough patch as things can change quickly. I pushed myself to a limit I hadn’t yet reached HR got up to 190 which is my high. Always research the event (flat,hilly,terrain) this something I never done. Mentally had to be strong as I kept getting overtaken had to dig deep to get myself back into the pack. Leave yourself time to get to events and get prepared correctly (I was late) remember to always enjoy what you do 🙌🏽 train hard now in preparation for @bournemouthmarathonfestival With a couple of half’s for training in between.
