That’s it I’m done! We’re breaking up!! 😖 I haven’t been able to wear these jeans in months but decided to try them today and was excited they fit. But guess what, against my better judgment, I stepped on the scale this morning and had gained a pound after being super focused on my nutrition this week. BUT, I also have been making big gains in my workouts and even used some 15 lb weights today! 😃 So I know I’m gaining muscle. 💪🏼 I toyed with stopping my workouts and just focusing on my nutrition this month but I love how I’m feeling and I’m losing inches even if the scale doesn’t show it. So I had Brooklyn take this picture and then go hide the scale from me. 😂 I’m going to solely focus on how I feel and how my clothes fit and stop chasing a stupid number on the scale. 🙄 Don’t let the scale define you! Struggling with lymphedema and lipedema, my body will always be categorized as "obese" by medical standards. [Soapbox...the BMI chart is outdated and not the best standard for determining health.] I know the scale doesn't reflect my worth or show the work I've put in the last several years. But sometimes I allow it to tell me I'm failing. That's where other tools are helpful in a health journey. Photos show the progress! When you are stuck in a cycle of restricting and over doing cardio it really becomes boring. When you feel like all you want to do is loose weight it consumes your mind 24/7. Food becomes scary. And exercise becomes a chore or which you only do to burn calories. If you want to change that the best advice I could give to you is change your mindset and outlook on why you exercise. Exercise to feel good and strong not to just burn off what you eat. Don’t be dictated by what the number says on the scale. Eat to fuel your body and enjoy. Stay consistent. Be patient and know that progress is on going thing and doesn’t happen over night. You can change that narrative you’ve made for yourself.
