If you can figure out a targeted solution to the underlying issue, youโ€™ll have a greater chance at transforming your exercise habits. And donโ€™t discount the value of doing something, but not everything. If you canโ€™t work up the motivation to walk 45 minutes, go walk 5 minutes and see how you feel. Then if you feel great, keep going, but if you donโ€™t, give yourself permission to stop. Or if you donโ€™t feel like lifting weights, just do some bodyweight squats or lunges, or do some mobility exercises. Maybe once you start moving, your body will decide itโ€™s up for more. And maybe not. Either way, it doesnโ€™t make you a bad or a good person. Salut! Food has always been a huge part of my holiday plans. Itโ€™s part of the whole experience for me - traditional delights and enjoying the local cafes and restaurants. But it took me a long time to realise that the overindulgence and poor choices I was making before was actually spoiling my enjoyment of my time away. In the last four years I have I become much more aware of the link between the foods I chose to eat on holiday and how they make me feel after. Sluggish. Sickly. Bloated. By choosing more consciously I now enjoy my holidays so much more than I did when unsupportive foods were at the centre. I still have few carefully selected treats that make my holiday feel fun, exciting and free, like this delicious freshly baked croissant at the airport on Monday! It was just what I wanted. But I do it in a way that allows my body to feel fully supported and nourished. I was recently watching some videos from when I lost my initial 35 pounds of weight back in 2022 and reflecting on how my body feels and looks now. Since December, 2023 Iโ€™ve been hitting the gym @burnbootcampwilliamsburgva at least four times a week, and Iโ€™m seeing remarkable changes in my physique โ€“ Iโ€™m truly loving it! Itโ€™s not just about looking skinny; I feel genuinely healthy. Finally, Iโ€™ve started building muscle ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป And itโ€™s an amazing feeling! Day 13, and the suspense is killing me ๐Ÿ˜‚ Brecky was my absolute current fave - x2 Weetabix with strawberries, blueberries, honey, and cinnamon. Guess what I had for lunch?? Thatโ€™s rightโ€ฆa big, yummy salad! This time with smoked salmon and boiled eggs ๐Ÿ˜‹ On groups nights, I need a quick, no-fuss tea, so I had chicken with peppers and rice. I roasted a red pepper and some Sugardrop tomatoes, and heated up a cooked chicken breast. I pan fried a low syn pouch of Uncle Benโ€™s Roasted Garlic rice, adding some finely sliced fresh garlic, pepper, a sprinkle of Bouillon, and fresh parsley. Egg Drop Soup 1/3 Lean, 1.3 Condiments and 1/8 Healthy Fat Still need 2/3 lean and 3 greens Ingredients: โ€ข1 cup chicken broth (1 Condiment) โ€ข1/4 teaspoon soy sauce (1/4 Condiment) โ€ข1/8 teaspoon sesame oil โ€“ optional but recommended (1/8 Healthy Fat) โ€ข1 egg, beaten (1/3 lean) โ€ข1 teaspoon chopped fresh chives (1/21 Condiment) Directions: In a small saucepan, combine the chicken broth, soy sauce and sesame oil. Bring to a boil. Stir gently while you pour in the beaten egg. Cook for about 1 minute. Another month down. Down 3.5 lbs. Had to switch up my calorie deficit mid month and finally saw some results. Went from 1800 a day to 1650 with protein goal at 145g/day. I was probably eating closer to maintenance, but sometimes we just need to recalculate. This time around has been so much slower, but so much easier to keep up with day to day. These habits are far more sustainable than any "lose it fast" things I've done in the past like eating too low cals and so much cardio. Mac and Cheeze Simple and wonderful. I made a cheeze sauce with white beans, potatoes, carrots, cashews, miso and more. See my previous post (April 29) for the recipe. I heated 2 1/2 cups of cheeze sauce and served it over chickpea elbow noodles (8 ounces dry) for dinner. I love this comfort food dish. I got about 5 1/2 cups of mac and cheeze. Random Weigh In ๐Ÿ’ซ After deciding last week to go back into a very small Calorie Deficit (for 1 month only) I thought I would get my first weigh in to see how well I have done in the first week. Still doing my training alongside this and I feel less bloated and healthier, so doing this has really helped me feel amazing. Twice Baked Cauliflower 4 Servings 1/4 Lean, 2 Greens, and 3 Condiments per Serving **Serve this side dish with an additional Green and 3/4 Lean such as: 3.75 ounces of 93% ground beef, steak, or pork 4.5 ounces of grilled chicken breasts 5.25 ounces shrimp, tilapia or 99% ground turkey** Ingredients: 4 cups cauliflower florets 3 ounces reduced fat cream cheese, cubed 1/2 cup sour cream 1/4 cup green onion, sliced 1/4 cup Kraft reduced fat parmesan cheese 6 slices turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled 1 cup reduced fat sharp cheddar cheese, divided Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray a glass casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray. Place cauliflower in a large pot of boiling water and cook until cauliflower is tender. Drain well and mash with potato masher, leaving some chunks. Add 3/4 of the bacon, green onions, cream cheese, sour cream, 1/2 cup cheddar cheese and Parmesan to the mashed cauliflower. Spread mixture evenly in a small glass casserole dish. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese and reserved bacon. Bake 20 minutes covered or until hot and bubbly. Remove the lid and bake an additional 5 minutes or until cheese has melted. Playing with Cheeze Sauce I combined several recipes and made some cheeze sauce by using up what I had in my fridge. I boiled the potatoes and carrots, but mashed the potatoes (skin on) by hand to keep them from getting too sticky. Ingredients 3 Yukon gold potatoes, diced 2 carrots, peeled, diced 1 cup Cannellini beans, drained and rinsed 1/2 cup nutritional yeast 2 T lemon juice 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1 1/2 tsp onion powder 1/4 cup cashew powder (or you could use cashew butter or cashews) 1 tsp miso 1/4 tsp turmeric 1 cup water (save the potato cooking water) Directions Boil potatoes and carrots until tender 10 minutes or so. If using cashews, toss those in to the pot too. SAVE THE COOKING WATER!! Set the potatoes aside to cool separately. In a food processor, put the carrots, (cashews if using whole nuts), cannellini beans, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, spices, cashew powder and miso, along with 1/2 cup of the cooking water. Pulse/blend, scraping down the sides of the food processor several times. *Mash the cooled potatoes by hand. Add the other 1/2 cup of water to the food processor along with the mashed potatoes. Blend cheeze mixture until smooth, but not too long, or the potatoes will get sticky. - Embrace the fluctuations in your fitness performance and redefine your best! Now when you place expectations on yourself, you tend to overestimate what you have to give. Especially when it comes to fat loss. Youโ€™ll sit down, say you want X in Y weeks. And then just list everything you need to get that result as fast as possible. 10k steps a day. A 1000-calorie daily deficit. In the gym 4 times a week for 60 minutes a pop. You think you need to give EVERYTHING, on EVERYDAY. Guess what. Youโ€™ll crash and burn within two weeks. Change your definition of success. Instead of success being doing EVERYTHING. Make it by doing your best. One week your best might be hitting 10k steps, a harsh calorie deficit and four 1-hour long workouts. One week it might be brushing your teeth twice a day, getting 5000 steps in and showing up to your spin class 10 minutes late. If you can go to bed and say to yourself, I did the best I could given the circumstances. Then be happy with the results you get, be that 2lbs lost or maintaining your weight.

โœจ๏ธ ROASTED CHICKEN โœจ๏ธ Having a cooked chicken in the fridge has been key for me. If you're in a hurry you'll always have dinner ready in about 15 mins just adding frozen veg. I got meals for 3 days using one large cooked chicken. And it's soo much cheaper and tastier than chicken fillets. Another 4 weeks of averaging 10k/day throughout the week. Weekends are always less, but do more during the week. Even being sick yesterday and today and getting minimal steps, still got the 10k average! Do what you can! If you can do more, do more. If you have to do less because you're body is telling you to, then do what you can. There will be days you don't feel your best or are busier or more stressed out.
