It's Fri-yay - and that means it's also an Active Recovery Day!  My Core Circuit was only 2 exercises, but since they were unilateral, it was really like 4 moves.  They may not look like much, but they worked the deep abdominal muscles. Today was my 1st Moderate Carb Day in a long while.  What are Moderate Carb Days? Lately I’m loving roasted squash and zucchini - and zucchini is supposedly great for fighting inflammation; both are low-carb foods. A little olive oil, mixed salt (and pepper), 425 for 10-ish minutes and they melt in your mouth. They are great cold or warm. I packed them in a to-go container with @traderjoes High Protein tofu and balsamic drizzle. Today I had them over eggs (mix with egg whites and they become fluffy!). Want something sweet? So in order for anyone to know what I’m doing and to join me on this journey, then I have to eventually make a post…right? What better time to take a big leap than that the first day of a new month. . . But I have hesitated to do anything because this sort of page requires a level of vulnerability, that to be honest, I’m just not comfortable with. I’ve said it a million times over, “If I could be a hermit I would.” I struggle with allowing people into my personal life and thoughts. To witness my imperfections and see me in the raw. And I think the reason for this is… I care too much. I care what you think of me, and how you feel about me. I want to be liked by everybody. But I can’t continue to hide out. I also feel deeply about the people I’m connected with. I care when your sad, and if its because of me. When I get attached to you….I’m attached. And if I hurt you or let you down in anyway it’s hard for me to overcome that. So I put up walls and a tough exterior to ward people away, because I’m scared. But I really do desire to help other women who have gone through their own physical struggles. . . So….this is me taking bold action. Here in this space I’m going to do my best to allow you all in. I want you to see the good, bad, and ugly. I want to show you the ups and downs of my own personal health and fitness journey and I hope that in doing so you will find something in me that you resonate with. . . And I do believe, if channeled right, your weaknesses can sometimes, also be your strength. So this is me saying I care about you as a person and if you find that you are like me and have struggled with your body image and have struggle with staying on track then I’m your girl. May 1st kicked off with a challenging run. Wednesdays are for hills and today’s training called for a warmup, 45 sec. hills with a jog down x8, and cooldown jog afterwards. The warmup and hills weren’t that bad but the 15 minute run back to the car about did me in. 🙋‍♀️Are you still living for the weekends? I was! 🤷‍♀️I’m guessing you’re waiting for those results to kick in too… Same!😖 You may think just two days of treating yourself isn’t going to do much to your progress, but I promise you, it is. 5/7 days of the week is 70% and your C grade isn’t going to give you A+ results... I know you’re working hard, but you can’t outwork a bad diet. There’s a reason I emphasize so much on nutrition & diet — because it is the #1 factor in whether or not you see results. Instead of living for the weekend, I encourage my clients to embrace a life of balance ALL THE TIME. I’m not saying to never eat the cookie or piece of pizza… I still enjoy all the things! BUT by learning how to properly fuel MY body & learning what the food I was eating was made (by macro tracking), this helped me break the cycle of bingeing on the weekends after a week filled with restrictions and undereating!
