Travel food, Part II 🍳🥪🌮. . Our second and final travel day was another good day. I was telling Jeff how, for some reason, starting my day actually giving a f**k about my points just sets me up for a better, more mindful day. . Especially on travel days, I don’t care how many points I rack up; I go in knowing I’m going to go over my daily points. But I do try to mitigate some of the damage by making wiser choices than if I wasn’t tracking or if I tell myself “I’ll figure it out later.” . The egg white grill at Chick Fil A slaps and, for 7pts (300 cals), it’s more than than I’d spend on breakfast on the regular but it’s an excellent choice for on-the-go. . For lunch, we grabbed food and headed to a park/playground so the kids could get some wiggles out. I get the bootlegger club unwich with extra turkey, no mayo, add pickles and mustard (2pts). . For dinner after we checked into our airbnb, we ordered from Miller’s Ale House. Luckily, they’re listed in the restaurant section of the WW app so that made tracking easy! I forgot to take a picture of my food (there was a lot going on 🤪) but I got the chicken tacos, and those clocked in at 19 points. . Obviously, it was still a day I went over my usual 23 points, but, at the end of the day, I’m not mad or disappointed in how it all shook out. In fact, I feel pretty good about the choices I made and I didn’t have any of that “I wish I didn’t do that” guilt and shame before I went to bed. ✨ we love that food freedom! 🙌🏻. . Travel food 🚗 💨. . We hit the road for our annual pilgrimage to Florida ☀️ 🌴 and I’m just so, so happy to be headed towards sunshine for a while! . We’ve done this enough and it’s been long enough since I changed my lifestyle that I don’t really sweat the travel days that much anymore. . This morning, when we left the house before 5am, I had my protein shake + espresso (2pts) already made and ready to go and I threw together my classic egg + cheese + Canadian bacon on an English muffin breakfast sandwich (3pts) to eat on the road. . For lunch we stopped at chick fil a and I got grilled nuggets with honey roasted bbq sauce (2pts) and chicken noodle soup (4pts) and it was was great. I felt good about keeping my points in check and it was nice that we all got to eat at the same place without any of the “ugh what can I even eat here?!” anxiety. . I ate a bag of mini Doritos (2pts) while we sat in traffic through Nashville and a chocolate chip cookie (6pts) that I’d packed from home. . For dinner, we stopped at a spot we discovered last year that had the most outrageous and amazing tacos we have ever seen or had. Our kiddos were both exhausted and wild so Jeff grabbed it to go and we ate together in our hotel 🥴 I got chicken birria tacos and ate way too many chips. Very very good, but probably a million and a half points. A few sips of a prickly pear margarita didn’t hurt though 💃🏻. . All in all, it was a pretty good day and I feel pretty okay about the choices that I made. And that’s a good thing. ☺️ Tomorrow, we head to our final destination! Yahoo! My day turned out much better than I anticipated. We were supposed to go to Cane’s for dinner before the Big Daddy Weave concert but we were running late so we ended up at Chick-Fil-A which is a big difference. A box meal which is what we had a bogo for at Cane’s was going to be 38pts!! That already would have put me into my weeklies on the first day of my week and I don’t even care for Canes so totally not worth it for this girl! Breakfast was eggs and veggies Lunch was a protein drink Snack was a Quest bar and Halo Dinner was a spicy chicken salad with Honey Roasted BBQ sauce Chips that my hubby just started carrying to sell and I said I would try them for him since he doesn’t like heat. I was running from work to a doctors appt on the other side of town and I knew ahead of time what my plan was going to be👍🏻 I have been using @chickfila as my go to when I’m out and about lately but I don’t like the points on dressing and salads are good in the moment but don’t really keep me satisfied very long. I’m general, I have come to believe that @chickfila is one of the most @ww friendly fast food places out there. .
