Hocus Pocus & The All-New Sequel ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hocus Pocus foi um filme que demorou anos a entrar na minha vida e depois tomou conta dela, por isso este livro era obrigatório acabar cá em casa. Melhor ainda, tinha uma sequela!! Estava então super entusiasmada para o ler, metade desse entusiasmo acabou com o novo filme (e saber que nada desta sequela foi adaptado..) mas lá decidi que estava na hora de o ler. Primeira parte é o filme e estava tudo bem! Gostei imenso. Agora a segunda parte, foi aquele livro “pastilha” que por mais que se mastigue não desenvolve, não anda, não melhora.. Não fiquei fã da filha deles e muito menos dos amigos, as irmãs Sanderson perdem também força e carisma, a irmã desconhecida é talvez a melhor adição a toda esta história mas nem ela chega para salvar uma história que é resolvida de forma atabalhoada e sem grande emoção. Honestamente, nem sei se gostaria que tivesse sido este livro o adaptado a filme em vez da sequela que a Disney nos apresentou, ambos falham em várias categorias.. Por isso, nem o livro nem o filme! The Hocus Pocus sequel book was released in 2018 and I thought I had all of the versions up until I recently got this one! This is the sequel audiobook version, but not the simple one CD version, this is the 10 disc version typically provided to libraries. This specific one was sold at a library book sale! As the sisters wreck havoc among the town, the girls must figure out how to stop their evil plans from coming to fruition. 🎬🧙🏻♀️ After almost thirty years, the much anticipated sequel to Hocus Pocus has arrived! The Sanderson sisters are back and as wicked as ever, with Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy clearly relishing being back in their witchy roles. The trio do not appear to have aged a day and look amazing! Their chemistry really is magical and their antics onscreen are so much fun to watch. 🎬🧙🏻♀️ This time around, the film has a feminist energy to the storyline and the sisters are portrayed in a more sympathetic light with a strong sisterly bond. I loved this aspect of the film and it gave the characters a lot more depth. The teenagers in the film were great and I found the portrayal of teenage female friendships so relatable to when I was a teenager. I did miss the original kids and it would have been nice to see some link between them and the new film. Overall though, I loved Hocus Pocus 2 and it is a worthy follow up to the original film. Lunedì in Streaming NO SPOILER Recensione Hocus Pocus 2, 2022, regia di Anne Fletcher Il primo Hocus Pocus l’abbiamo visto solo negli ultimi anni, ma ha saputo affascinarci per il suo carattere irriverente, simpatico e per la presenza scenica delle antagoniste che risultavano incredibilmente affascinanti e divertenti. Certo, fa sentire sulle spalle il peso degli anni e può non piacere ai giovani o a chi non è abituato a guardare vecchie glorie del passato, ma non ci era dispiaciuto affatto. Discorso diverso va fatto per il suo sequel, che non ci ha lasciati altro che amarezza e noia. Il film in sé non è brutto, anzi le tre streghe sono strabilianti come sempre e le tematiche sociali che vogliono fare da morale sono ben gestite senza che risultino smaccate o esagerate come capita spesso negli ultimi tempi. Tuttavia ci ha dato l’impressione di essere un seguito totalmente inutile, senza una vera anima e costruito solo per riportare in auge il capitolo originale, oltre che per far cassa. Probabilmente il motivo dietro questa chiarissima e nostalgica operazione commerciale è esattamente quello di spendere poco e guadagnare il più possibile, ma poteva essere fatto molto di più. Molte gag e dinamiche tornano, ma sembrano più riciclate svogliatamente che per rendere omaggio. Inoltre la storia di per sé non ingrana mai se non sul finale e dà l’impressione che il tutto sia solo un pretesto per far vedere come delle streghe del 1600 interagiscono con le tecnologie odierne. So my husband bought me this book last year and I figured with the movie coming out and it being the Halloween season it was time to finally read it lol. Granted I also didn't have to read the first 200 pages because it was just the entire first movie. Interesting point of view with merging new characters to the original story. It was a short and sweet. To the point. The second part was the new story based in 2018. You meet the daughter of Max and Allison, and her two friends. I loved watching this movie back in the 90’s and before watching the much anticipated sequel. —— 1. In 2018 (the 25th anniversary of the original movie) Disney published a novelization and a sequel novel for fans. 2. The sequel set in 2018 followed what happened when the Sanderson sisters were brought back from the dead yet again by the black flame candle. The idea might have sounded the exact same for the Disney plus movie that came out this year but that is where the similarities end. 3. Both sequels are set in Salem two decades later but they are two very different stories and completely different set of characters. I am assuming this had to happen based on what actors were available. 4. The novel was full of nostalgia and the Disney plus version as far as we can see none of them are related to Dani, Max or Allison. 5. In the film sequel we meet Gilbert who runs a magic shop what just happens to the old Sanderson house. This character was not in the original movie, but flashbacks make it seem like he was. 6. Both the book and film adaption have some information about the Sanderson sisters. The novel has information about their mother and a fourth sister. 7. In the book Winifred is clearly the villain while the movie tries to redeem her. —— Overall these were completely different stories and I enjoyed the novel more and was sad they couldn’t pull that off. Just finished Hocus Pocus 2. I was very excited when Disney announced a sequel to the original classic and overall, I wasn't let down! Although I didn't care too much about the new cast, I feel like they blended in with the ogs quite well! What really got me is the last few minutes when we said goodbye to the sisters possibly (or maybe not) for good. Seeing that Winifred couldn't live without her sisters was bittersweet and it was felt. Not to mention when the tear came from the book... Man! 😞🥱 Disney sure knows how to fck with my emotions! ✨Hocus Pocus✨ I read Hocus Pocus and the sequel last year and loved it! Last night I finally watched Hocus Pocus 2! Overall I liked it but wish it was more like the book sequel. The book sequel has more of the characters we all know and love and I recommend for anyone who hasn’t picked it up yet. I just finished #HocusPocus2 and I really enjoyed it. Not as good as the first but I wasn’t let down. My expectations weren’t that high since #sequels now are usually disappointing, but I felt like this was straight out of the 90’s whenever the #SandersonSisters were on screen. I enjoyed every moment with them. The one thing everyone’s watching this sequel for, they nailed it 👌 I didn’t really find the main kids that interesting compared to the original #HocusPocus. The climax was a bit lackluster but I’m able to look past it as an decent #sequel, even though I think they could’ve done better with the ideas they had in this one. Don’t let the negatives I have take away from your interest in the #movie. It’s no masterpiece but it isn’t garbage. I can gladly say I liked this movie. Will proabably see both movies again back to back on #Halloween.
