It was such an active week. Not only am I replacing the walkway I put in last year, I hit the gym and did my normal 2 mile sunrise walk everyday, and I got a walking pad for my desk. It’s amazing how much more productive I feel because I am not sitting. I also got lots of sunshine, had great conversations, fun meals eaten outside, sunrises and sunsets, hot mineral soaks - seriously a great week. Sitting should be done sparingly but it seems to be our default. Start noticing how much you sit and attempt to reduce that amount. Instead of watching that next program, get up and walk around your yard, go to the park, or walk around the block. If you have a lot of desk work, get a walking pad like mine. I have a link for it in my bio at the top of my page. If you must sit, at least do it outside so you’re getting natural light. 131,215 steps this week. I had 2 days with 20,000+ steps. My sleep scores are amazing with the extra movement too. Walking is such a great way to spend time. #noexcuses #accountability #accountabilitypost #walkingpad

Hey gals, 👋🏽 I know how overwhelming the start to a fitness journey can be. 😬 Especially with all this free information on the internet. Sometimes you just don’t even know 🤷🏼‍♀️ where to start. It can be so challenging knowing what to believe and who to trust on these platforms. I totally get that! So to help you out sis , I have listed 5 things I would do if I were back in your shoes. Read them below x 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽 If I was new to fitness this is what I’d do; 1️⃣ FOCUS LESS ON “CALORIES BURNT” AND MORE ON LEARNING AND UNDERSTANDING WHAT CALORIES ACTUALLY ARE AND WHAT THEY ARE MADE UP OF (MACROS) 🥦🥑🍎🍇🥝🍋 2️⃣ SPEND LESS TIME ON CARDIO EQUIPMENT AND MORE TIME LEARNING HOW TO STRENGTH TRAIN SAFELY 🏋️‍♂️ 3️⃣ WOULDN’T SKIP UPPER BODY DAY IN THE FEAR I’D GET BULKY. THAT’S JUST NOT GOING TO HAPPEN 🙅🏼‍♀️ 4️⃣ TAKE PROGRESS PHOTOS 📸EVEN IF YOU DON’T WANT TO. YOU’LL THANK YOURSELF, TRUST ME 🫢🫢👇🏽 And the 5th thing I would do which to me is the most valuable step you could make early on in your fitness journey; ⭐️It would be to invest in coaching. Seek guidance and support to take the frustrating guesswork out of the beginning.⭐️ Not once have I ever made an investment into coaching and regretted it, or felt as if it wasn’t worth the money. It’s important to constantly be learning and growing. I often look back and say to myself “Wow! Look at how much life has changed and how far I have come!” I started as a personal trainer at a gym called Equinox in the Yorkville area of Toronto over 10 years ago. I loved it! I was a total SPONGE trying to learn EVERYTHING I could about the industry and fitness. I even won an award and received Top 10 trainers worldwide for earning education points. 🤓 As they saw my knowledge progress they soon gave me the classroom to design and teach classes in. It was the BEST! What an empowering experience to see what amazing opportunities come from embracing learning new things and growing. Fast forward to today, and that desire to keep learning and growing is still every-present! Currently I am enrolled in my 200 hours to become a Yoga instructor this Spring/Summer. I am super excited! Many of us believe that once we commit to something, we MUST see it through AT ALL COSTS. The universe knows I believed this many times over, mostly to my own detriment. Maybe it’s what we were taught as kids. Maybe we think we’ll be seen as weak, a cop-out or a flake if we don’t follow through. But sometimes, a decision we make just isn’t for us, in our gut. This is your reminder to, please, hinge at your hips.⁠ ⁠ Hip hinges are a fundamental and foundational movement pattern. This means that, unlike push ups, life offers you many opportunities to hinge at your hips, thus strengthening and increasing the range-of-motion of your glutes and hamstrings as you deter lower back problems. ⁠ ⁠ Working on the back body muscles, as the hip hinge does, is also excellent for building and maintaining power, mobility, and stability. ⁠ ⁠ For all these benefits and more practice your hip hinges with good form when you…⁠ ⁠ …wash your face and brush your teeth at the sink⁠ …need to pick something off of the floor⁠ …have been sitting for a while (it’s a great stretch)⁠ …are picking up a heavy package or setting one down (squats are also good for this)⁠ …play with your cat while wearing heels and a bikini bottom because you think it will be funny on social media⁠ ⁠ So are you doing them regularly?⁠
