When the alarm goes off at 4am it can sometimes be a mind, and physical, game to get up to be at the gym at 5am. What does taking care of your health look like for your future self? What do you want to be able to do? Me: it’s living to the ripe old age of 100yrs young, cause you know Madison is going to need her momma forever. And I want to live long enough to help her sister physically as long as humanly possible. Plus I would love see my girls as little old besties 👯 I was having fun playing around with these old age photos filters. And it’s really weird seeing what the future me could potentially look like, hopefully less wrinkles, lol. I’m holding on to these though because it’s a reminder that if I want to even have a chance to live that long then it means I’m going to have to keep striving to take the best care of myself. The last picture is the best one. Who knows what we will really look like but seeing Madison as an old lady is surreal and great motivation to keep moving. Every year it gets harder to remember my age... My brain still thinks I'm somewhere between mid-thirties to early forties. Funny how this is, eh? Don't get me wrong, I have many days where I catch a glimpse in the mirror and wonder where the f*^! all the wrinkles and sun spots came from?! But for the most part, I don't feel on my way 60... like at all. Here's what [I think] has helped me keep feeling young'ish and what I hope will continue to keep me feeling my best to 60, 70, 80 and maybe beyond (one can wish ☺️) 🍏 good nutrition (hey, I'm a nutritionist - that one had to be #1) 💪🏼 strength training: muscles does so much more for your body & brain than just look good 👟 walking, walking, and some more walking - take every opportunity you can to be on your feet, solid studies show how much longer and healthier we live when we stay off our butts! ❤️ love and laugher; might sound cheezy but social connections are among the top contributors to healthy aging as well 😴 good quality sleep & enough of it: my sleep took a nosedive during/after menopause, so after trying many things, I've found an over the counter solution that does the trick for me. Today I want to celebrate Kerri, who is in our 8 week challenge and, like most of my clients in the challenge, are starting to see or feel little changes in their bodies in just a few weeks! Thank you Kerri for the reminder that we are not perfect and we should not strive for perfection.
