My number one travel necessity: a well-stocked Kindle. I am off to Berlin to meet with my team next week, then on to Provence for an extended long weekend birthday trip. Air France has VERY strict carry on weight limits so bringing physical books is not an option, but my Kindle solves that problem. I also love that the Paperwhite is waterproof so I can bring it with my to my hotel’s pool and spa 😍 Today I’m halfway through The Graham Effect by @ellekennedy33 while I wait to board my flight. I’ve got the new Emily Henry on deck when I finish this. Any other suggestions for my vacation reads?

Just finished this book 5 minutes ago and OMG!!!!!📗 The craziness of it all had me gasping, lifting my jaw off the ground and crying 😭 Ms. Evelyn Hugo was going through it. ⭐¡Hola a todos! 📚En esta entrega os traigo el libro "El apartamento 16". Este libro es de ciencia ficción/terror, aunque os digo que miedo como tal no produce, para mí se quedaría más en suspense. Tiene unas 416 páginas en formato papel y su lectura nos toma de media unas 10 u 11 horas. En ella hay dos protagonistas e iremos intercalando su historia dentro de la propia historia. 📖Tengo sentimientos encontrados con esta novela. En mi forma de ver está muy bien escrita y usa palabras en más de una ocasión bastante cultas. También describe detalladamente las cosas, tanto es así, que a veces se me hace un pelín pesado. Al principio me pareció muy entretenida pero la parte media del libro se me hizo algo lenta. La parte final está bien aunque me faltó algo más. This book had my heart breaking in parts. Having a little girl myself of similar age really got me emotional, how would life even go on without her, I can't begin to imagine. However, it's such a beautiful story of love, life, loss and healing after losing a loved one and the minefield of the journey through life whilst grieving. After reading this book I did Google The Wind Phone and found it to be a place that does exist in Japan. It's a place where you can pick up the phone and have a one way conversation... talk to someone you have lost, or even someone who is still here but you can't find the words to say outloud to them...what a beautiful idea that is. It made me feel warm inside, a metaphorical hug. Onderstroom - Linda Jansma ⭐⭐⭐✨ Een nieuwe thriller van Linda Jansma is altijd een goed idee! Wat ik extra leuk vond aan dit boek is dat het zich afspeelt in een voor mij bekende omgeving. Ik kon me tijdens het lezen levendig voorstellen hoe Hester met haar pupillen op het Friese water zeilde. Door de dood van haar dochter heeft Hester wat een gesloten karakter gekregen, wat het verhaal extra duister maakt. Wanneer er nog een meisje dood wordt aangetroffen, verschijnen er allemaal vraagtekens in mijn brein. Hoe gaat dit verhaal verder lopen? Is er een verband tussen deze twee dode meisjes? This book was everything that I hoped it would be and I loved ever second of it! Tragedy introduced Dani (an orphan) and Malone (a police officer) when she was a child. 15 years later, a murder mystery and fate brings them together again. Now an adult, Dani is an intriguing beauty with an intuitive gift which may be the key to helping solve the mystery and catch a killer who is targeting the indignant “unknowns” of Cleveland. Reluctantly, Malone agrees to involve her in his investigation. The story is vivid and full of real-life historical events of a city held captive by a serial killer. The true crime and grittiness of this aspect of the story was intriguing. The slow burn romance between Malone and Dani is intense and swoon-worthy. Both characters are fighting - one to remain detached from the other and one to break down walls. Watching Dani chip away at Malone’s hardened nature until he is full of nothing but adoration and love for the girl he’s tried not to fall for was beautiful. I love a good grump turned softy story and this didn’t disappoint. Highly recommend it!
Life’s Too Short by Abby Jimenez ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Finished up my reread of The Friend Zone series and thereby ended my reread of all of Abby Jimenez’s books. I love all her books and it was great experiencing them again. This book is a good reminder to not dwell on things that are out of your control and to really appreciate life, big things and small. Firstly, I'd like to say how much I love Reuben, finally a character who doesn't want to work at all when he comes to an alien planet and he sulks for the first few weeks!! He is my spirit animal. He is such a complex and interesting character, and he is soo funny damn. The planet he's taken on sounds so fun and interesting, and I loved the descriptions we got from Reuben!! And Vo'ak is our alien mc and he is so fun, I loved his arrogance and softness , I love how throughout the book he's learning and paying attention to Reuben and his needs and feelings. I loved seeing him told off, not only by Reuben but also by his friends. What this book makes great is the characters. We get to meet such great characters in this little tribe. Even if we had short interactions, we could easily fall in love with them! The spicy scenes between Vo'ak and Reuben were incredible,even with the language barrier, there's always consent. There is so much I love about their relationship and chemistry, I could go in heavy detail, but I won't because who has the time for that!! There were so many times I laughed out loud, and there were times I literally had to put my kindle down to sit in shock. I also have to say I appreciate how Reubens trauma was handled!!! In conclusion, I had so much fun and enjoyed this book a lot!!!! Can't wait to read the other book in this world, it's coming soon I believe!

You guys! I finally have my Kindle! ✨ I'm so over the 🌙 excited about this as I wanted one since the Kindle Fire was released over a decade ago. Tbh, I once had the hardest time switching from physical books to e-reading but when I was gifted the Sony E-reader for my birthday (I think in 2012?) I never looked back. Oh my gosh how I loved being a reader even more after having this virtual library to take with me whenever and wherever. I also felt so much more comfortable holding my e-reader for nightly reads versus a physical book. Don't get me wrong, I still love my physical books dearly and have always continued to do so - but now I only buy them occasionally. My old Sony E-reader still had one of those covers that came with a tiny night light. So old-fashioned lol! In 2019 I got gifted the Kobo Aura H20 Edition 2 for another birthday as my, by then, old grandpa Sony, was really in need for a succesor so he could go enjoy his much deserved retirement. I absolutely loved my Kobo as much as I once loved my Sony and still do. My Kobo holds a library that could last me a lifetime and I still use it quite often. However, it's not the fastest e-reader around anymore either and it doesn't work with the Amazon books. Now the time has finally come to welcome my 1st Kindle! 🥳 I choose the Kindle paperwhite Signature Edition and I couldn't be more excited. It's not a replacement for my Kobo as the Kindle will be used for Kindle | Amazon books only and that's exactly what I purchased for. Amazon has SO MUCH good deals in the horror and thriller genre, it's insane! So far, Im in love with my Kindle, it's comfy, it's fast, the charging lasts forever, it's very user friendly, I adore the warm light and the way Amazon transfers your books immediately to your Kindle is so convenient as well as the Kindle app! Anyway, this gift to myself couldn't have come at a better time as I still have a long recovery to go (it's baby steps after this last surgery) and with the loss of my dear dad on top, I'll be checking out from the real world for a while and just focus on my well being & my recovery. Reading really brings me so much joy and peace 💚 The Kindle truly adds to that!
