Fun fact: table sugar is low FODMAP and digestion friendly…..most artificial sweeteners are not 🫣 Most artificial sweeteners on the market today contain sugar alcohols (any word that ends in -ol like sorbitol, erythritol, mannitol) that are high FODMAP. Even natural honey contains FODMAPs! For those struggling with gastrointestinal distress, I’d steer clear of “keto” or “sugar free” treats, including breath mints and chewing gums. A homemade, regular sugar, gluten-free brownie should hit the spot if you have a craving (easy from-the-box recipe pinned on my grid!). If you do like sweetener, old favorites that are low FODMAP include regular table sugar (white or brown), maple syrup, or if you do want a zero-calorie option, stevia in the raw. FODMAPs are a group of short chain carbohydrates that can trigger symptoms of IBS. 75% of people with IBS who try the low FODMAP diet find relief. A parte ho provato a cuocere uovo sodo che mantenesse tuorlo morbido ma ho miseramente fallito, ho optato per cottura in padellino con olio vaporizzato (lo spray é tipo una gioia) e ce l’ho schiaffato su senza troppe esitazioni. A super healthy, delicious chicken and vegetable curry! I know I've been MIA for a while. Honestly I've just been carried away with little things in life. The one thing that has been consistent for me however, is making sure that I make delicious home cooked, healthy and satiating recipes for me and my partner every day. Of this I am truly proud of. It brings me joy and the best part is I never ever follow recipes and this allows for an unbiased outlet for my creativity to flow. I always use my intuition to tweak original recipes with cleaner, better-for-you ingredients and the results somehow end up being better than the original. This chicken and vegetable curry is an example. It is simply delicious, guilt free and satiating. I served it with my OG super healthy carrot salad recipe and a side of this creamy dreamy thick 3 ingredient vegan lentil mash dish I make often. Happy February everyone🌻 Yaayy - exactly one month and one week until it’s light outside after 6 pm! I’m sooooo ready for spring already ☀️ Here’s a fresh, light, but filling salad you can make for lunch You need: 2 cans of MSC-certified tuna, in olive oil 200 g or 7 oz GF pasta (I used my fave, @kaurakas from @leivonleipomo) Salad leaves (spinach, mangold, arugula, whatever you like) Box of cherry tomatoes 1 avocado 1/2 cucumber 1 bell pepper 2 spring onions A handful of kalamata olives Couple tablespoons capers Olive oil Salt and black pepper to taste Serves 4 (stores surprisingly well in the fridge for couple of days too, just add the yogurt dressing separately if you’re going to meal prep it 😙) Make it ✨ 1. Prepare your salad dressing (recipe in the comments <3) and set it aside in the fridge. 2. Boil your pasta in salted water and drain your tuna. Cut your veggies into small cubes. Assemble the salad by tossing everything in a big bowl. Add a drizzle of olive oil and pour in the salad dressing. Season with salt & black pepper. Pulled Oyster Mushroom Toast (5 min) Vegan by @jengoesnuts (GUTFRIENDLY) Guys, lunch is one of those moments where I’m always thinking what shall I have? 🤔Go to is always avocado toast 🥑🍞as you know 😎 so why not share one of my favourites? 😏This Pulled Oyster Mushroom Toast will make all you taste buds dance!💃🏻 Pulled Oyster Mushroom Toast (5 min) Ingredients (1 person): 🌱1-2 biiiiiig slices of organic spelt sourdough toast 🌱1 tbsp of olive oil 🌱1 ripe avoado 🌱1 tbsp of lemon juice 🌱1 tsp of bagel seasoning 🌱150g of oyster mushrooms 🌱1 tbsp of dark soy sauce 🌱1 tbsp of maple syrup 🌱1 tsp of rice vinegar 🌱1 tbsp of sesame oil 🌱1 tbsp of tahini 🌱Salt & Black Pepper Toppings: 🌱Roasted Black sesame seeds 🌱Coriander 🌱Spring union Method: Spread 1 tbsp of olive oil on both sides of the toast & toast in a pan or toaster until golden. Mash the avocado and add in lemon juice & spices of choice (EBB seasoning is bae). Spread on the toast. Pull the mushrooms apart and mix all the other ingredients together in a bowl. Heat up some oil in a pan and add in the mushrooms, salt & pepper and let them soften for about 3 min. Then add in the sauce and sauté for another 1-2 min. Gut Healing Detox Chicken Soup IBS and GERD friendly, super easy, budget friendly AND tasty. I've been fasting today to try and reset my poorly tummy. This morning I had an apple, celery and ginger juice and since them I've only had water or green tea. To make this lovely gentle detox dinner I boiled what was left of a rotisserie chicken for an hour and kept the stock, pulled off all the chicken that remained and put it back in a pot with the liquid. I chopped two celery stalks, the green parts of three spring onions, two carrots and two small potatoes. I added all of it to the pot and popped in a bouquet garni sachet, then I put the lid on and let it all simmer for 3 hours. I added a small amount of salt but NO pepper and finally blended it a little with my immersion blender to make a nice thick soup. This actually made enough for two servings so I'll have the rest tomorrow. Hopefully by then my gut will have recovered a little from the hammering it's taken this last week and it's back on the wagon for me... ••MISO SALMON•• *3 servings* (I bought a large salmon filet from Aldi and cut into 3 smaller portions) •Miso glaze: whisk together 1/2 T. Tamari, 1/2 T. mirin (sweet rice wine), 1/2 T. white miso paste, 1/2 T. rice vinegar, 1/2 t. pure maple syrup, and some freshly grated ginger. •Spread sauce over the top of salmon. Cook on your broiler setting for 8-10 min (until internal temp 145) watching to make sure it doesn’t burn. •Salad: mix 1 large spiralized cucumber, 2 large shredded carrots, a handful of egg tops of green onions, and sesame seeds. Toss with a little mixture of red pepper flakes, Tamari, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. (Leave out pepper flakes if a little spice bothers you) •Top salmon with sesame seeds when it’s finished. Is it just me, or is #meatloaf coming back in style? Ok… it's probably just me, but the other day I was compelled to make my own healthy adaptation of this retro classic and let me tell you - it was a culinary win! I used organic grass-fed beef, lots of organic shredded carrots, zucchini, and onions, and gluten-free bread crumbs. It's also #lowFODMAP #GutFriendly and won't cause that classic post-dinner belly bloat. Here’s the recipe! Ingredients: - 1 lb grass-fed organic ground beef - 1 cup shredded carrots - 1 cup shredded zucchini - ¼ cup green onion, coarsely chopped (green parts only) - 1 free run egg - 1 cup gluten-free bread crumbs (or 1 cup GF crackers, crushed) - 2 Tb Worcestershire sauce, gluten free - 2 Tb tomato paste - Salt & pepper to taste Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 380℉. 2. Add all ingredients into a bowl and mix together with your hands. 3. When well mixed, transfer into lined or greased loaf pan 4. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until fully cooked in centre (160℉) and brown on top. 5. Rather than complete avoidance, it is important to recognise that many times, it is down to how you cook the cabbage and what else goes with it. This gut-friendly cabbage recipe is well tolerated and full of nutrients and fibre. Today, I used: chesnut mushrooms, leeks, tofu, chopped Brazil nuts and sumac (a middle Eastern spice). Cruciferous veg, including cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, or kale, are a source of sulphur, which can get converted by gut bacteria into hydrogen, hydrogen sulphide, or methane. These intestinal gases can be responsible for bloating, belching, bowel alterations, flatulence, and pain. A tip for cooking cruciferous veg 👉 throw a slice of lemon to the boiling water. Who's a fan of warm sweet Cinnamon Raisin Bagels?🥯🥯🥯 These are PALEO, GRAIN, GLUTEN, and DAIRY-FREE. I've already eaten half the batch so I will certainly need to make more. Honestly, the pecan butter truly makes it 10x better but almond butter will certainly work as well. Perfect for Christmas morning yet healthy enough to eat every day! Ingredients: 1 tsp baking soda 3 eggs 2/3 cup pecan butter 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract 1/4 cup coconut sugar (or omit for unsweetened) Mix above ingredients with an electric mixer until a loose batter forms. Stir in desired amount of raisins and transfer to either a doughnut pan or cupcake tins and bake at 350F for 20 minutes. Allow to cool before removing from pan. #lilsipper

Lentil + carrot VEGAN patties RECIPE ✨ These homemade patties are my absolute favourite veggie patties and they are so easy to make with very few ingredients. dEATS: Serves 3 (2 patties each or alternatively 1 larger patty each) - 1 can lentils drained - 1 large carrot grated - 1/2 tsp cumin - 1/4 tsp paprika - 48g oat flour (ground oats) - 1 tbs soy sauce - Mash drained lentils in a bowl - Add grated carrot - Add cumin and paprika - Mix to combine - Add oat flour (I grind up rolled oats) - Add soy sauce - Mix and combine all ingredients and form into patties (I make 6 patties but you could also make 3 larger patties instead) - Fry in 1 tbs onion and garlic infused olive oil in a frying pan for about 4-5 minutes on each side (or until desired crispness) - Enjoy in a burger or with a side salad, side chips, mash potato, scalloped potato’s…whatever takes your fancy! #ibs #ibsfriendly #ibsfriendlyrecipes #vegan #veganburger #veganpatty #veganpatties #vegetarian #lowfodmap #lowfodmapdiet #lowfodmaprecipes #lowfodmapvegan #lowfodmapfriendly #fodmapfriendly #guthealth #healthyrecipes #healthy #recipes #vegetarianrecipes #vegetarianpatties

🍕HOMEMADE PIZZA🍕 . i’ve been trying so hard to get to grips with FODMAPs recently but will inevitably make some mistakes, my first being spelt flour🤦🏻‍♀️ honestly, i’m still not clear on the whole thing but it seems that wheat-free flours are generally okay and wheat-based flours can be okay in the right amounts IF they are sourdough🧐🤔 . regardless, this recipe was really quick & easy and could easily be made fodmap-friendly and gf by using buckwheat flour instead✨ . props to @naturally.sar for the base recipe🤩 - 1/2 cup spelt flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp olive oil & 1/4 cup warm water (original recipe was 1/2 cup water but i found this was waaay too much with spelt flour). . i made a tomato sauce using 🥄tomato purée 🥄garlic infused oil 🥄tomato passata 🥄mixed herbs and topped with spinach, tomatoes, olives and basil. (i managed to make the sauce fodmap-friendly at least!)

Bounty baked oats with frozen raspberries. Perfect for when you want something sweet 🍫 I make up the recipe as I go along but this is what I used: ▫️40g oats blended ▫️1/2 scoop of vegan vanilla creme protein powder ▫️1tsp baking powder ▫️1tsp cacao powder ▫️1tsp milled seeds ▫️4-5 drops of @myprotein coconut flavdrops ▫️2tbsp Greek yoghurt ▫️almond milk ▫️1 piece of @pureheavenly dark choc with sea salt; cut up into little bits Bake for 10mins at 190°c. Low FODMAP Lamb Ragu 😍 with gluten free pasta? Yes please! . Today, I felt like making something deliciously warm and hearty. . I bought a beautiful lamb shoulder from @ausmeatemporium, removed the excess fat and cut into chunky pieces . As always, I used @cobramestate Garlic & Onion Infused Olive oil for flavour and @freefodfoods Onion Replacer Powder in my sauce 😍 . I let this pot of deliciousness simmer for 8 hours, and used some @latinafreshau Gluten Free lasagne sheets, by cutting them into thick slices and quickly boiling them for a few mins! . Say hello to my favorite breakfast.... Chilaquiles🤩 My “IBS-friendly” Chilaquiles recipe is great if you’re following a gluten-free, low FODMAP, or Peak Frequency diet. With all the delicious flavor & mild heat, your stomach will thank you for this breakfast! Check out the recipe below: 1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a 9” by 9” baking dish with disposable parchment paper 2. Add a bag of white corn unseasoned tortilla chips to the baking dish 3. To make our salsa verde, we’re going to add 1 cup of roasted tomatillos, 2 tablespoons lime juice, 1/2 of an avocado, 1/2 cup cilantro, 1 teaspoon sea salt, and 1/4 cup of water to a blender 4. Blend until smooth then pour 3/4 of your salsa over the corn chips in the baking dish 5. Next, bake for 10-15 minutes until softened 6. While that’s cooking, whisk together five eggs then pour into a preheated skillet to make scrambled eggs 7. After the chips have cooked, remove them from the oven and top with your cooked scrambled eggs 8. Drizzle the other 1/4 of your salsa over the the eggs 9. Top with sliced radishes, avocado, micro greens, cilantro, and cotija cheese 10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Today is Thanksgiving + more than ever I am reflecting on how grateful I am. For my health, my support system, my husband who is my absolute rock - or as we jokingly call him, my "bag of sand" because he grounds my "vata" brain. My list could go on and on and on, but the one thing I want to make sure I don't forget to pay extra special thanks + gratitude towards is ... you. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Whether this is the first post of mine you've ever seen or the 100th post of mine you've ever seen. Whether you've been following me since before the food photography days, or you just got here. Thank you. You make me excited to do what I do, to share my absolute love and obsession with food with you. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ And I'm SUPER grateful I get to do this all day everyday, for us all. It's been my dream of dreams to be a full time food photographer + recipe developer and to watch that unfold before my eyes sometimes DOES feel like a dream. I'm working harder than I ever have in my life (and I've had some preeeeetttty hard jobs!) but I would not have it any other way. You guys, I have a little bit of a crush on this Paleo Chocolate Banana Bread. Not that it is likely coming as a surprise to you, being that I've posted 900 reels of it throughout the week, but I mean, would you just LOOK at it! It's truly a chocolate lovers dream and I can say that with confidence because I am a chocolate lover and I have had dreams about it.⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Sometimes I really impress myself with how amazing my baked goods come out. #humblebrag I love when I offer someone {insert baked good here} and they sort of curl their lip + say "Oh, it's gluten free/paleo? Is it weird? It probably tastes weird, huh?" and then I watch as they take a bite and immediately change their tune.⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ "Wait, you mean YOU can eat this?!" is my favorite response. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Being gluten free/grain free/paleo/refined sugar free/low FODMAP does not.... What's one food you would take with you to a desert island!? Jars & Jars of Nut Butter 😂 Or maybe these Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pretzels. The PERFECT NO BAKE combo of salty & sweet. ...... Years Ago: All Nut Butters, especially PB used to be off limit foods. I couldn't even buy it or the jar would be gone in 1 day!! Then I would feel guilty and punish my body the next day. However, I realized by allowing myself permission to eat a spoonful I no longer would binge the jar... I knew I could enjoy more everyday instead. Now I'll eat a sandwich or two with my favorite combo. Grab The Recipe! 👇 ...... Ingredients ½ cup Peanut Butter or Granola Butter @kweenandco (use no maple syrup) 2 tbsp pure maple syrup 2 - 4 tbsp coconut flour About 48 Grain-Free Pretzels @fitjoy 3oz Dark Chocolate @hukitchen Freeze Dried Raspberries @natierrasuperfoods ..... Instructions 1️⃣In a small mixing bowl, combine the nut butter and maple syrup. Stir to combine.(Omit if using granola butter) 2️⃣Stir in the coconut flour one tablespoon at a time until a thick, smooth dough forms. If your nut butter is relatively thick, you’ll likely need about 2 Tbsp. If your nut butter is runnier, you’ll need closer to 4. 3️⃣Lay out pretzels on a parchment-lined baking sheet. 4️⃣Roll the nut butter mixture into tsp balls and place on a pretzel. Place another pretzel on top and press down, making a sandwich. Repeat until all mixture is used. 5️⃣Place in the freezer while you melt chocolate. 6️⃣Melt the chocolate in the microwave for a minute. Whisk until smooth. 7️⃣Dip half of each pretzel sandwich in the chocolate. Repeat until all dipped. 8️⃣If desired, sprinkle with freeze dried fruit, while the chocolate is still warm. 9️⃣Place in the fridge or freezer until chocolate is firm. When I was invited to participate in this month’s #saksmonthlycollab I immediately accepted, but with major hesitation. This month’s collab is all about breads of the world + I have not been so successful in my bread baking attempts. I thought maybe I’d make a new banana or zucchini bread recipe or perhaps attempt sourdough again. One night I found myself rewatching the Italy episode of @ciaosamin ‘s Netflix series “Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat” + was absolutely drooling while she made focaccia with a local baker. In that moment I knew exactly what I’d attempt: Gluten Free Focaccia! ⠀ ⠀ I had some fresh rosemary left from my last visit to my mom’s house so I decided a garlic infused olive oil rosemary sea salt iteration was exactly what I’d go for. Now, I have little to no experience with baking bread so I immediately took to Google to see if there was a recipe I could try + ended up stumbling upon @chewoutloud ‘s Rustic Rosemary Garlic Bread recipe. It wasn’t gluten free nor was it a focaccia recipe, but I thought to myself “eh, this looks like it will work. I’ll just wing it.” (Truthfully, I think that to myself often!😂)⠀ ⠀ Turns out, winging it worked. Chocolate + Peanut Butter. Hands down my all time favorite combo! I think I get this from my Dad, with special emphasis on the peanut butter part. Growing up, he would put peanut butter on E V E R Y T H I N G.
