⚒️ RENOVATION 🛠️ After a few weeks of closing down our building for renovations, we were finally able to enter the building today to begin the process towards opening. There was moving of boxes of books, shelving, shifting shelves and making a small impact on all the reshelving that needs to be done. Had a comp the other day. Committed to it late after aggravating a bicep injury, so I had to bump up to super heavyweight and try for some new PRs due to not cutting. PRs 700lb Yoke to 600 LB sled 30,000lb Semi Truck pull in 38 secs Solid run on stones up to 300 gassed at the 330 Also got to compete with @tbones_lifting, and he got 1st in Teen Heavyweight! (my first student I've been able to convince to try strongman) Thanks @stinemanator for being my number one fan. Now she gets to be my number one bicep massager. I must have books everywhere. They're the soul of a room. They reveal the taste, the interests and the secrets of whoever lives there. Diane Von Furstenberg • This is so true, but normally books aren't stacked up the walls in my guestrooms. But alas, the moving has begun. • We had insurance confirmation that our leak damage is covered (what a relief) so I'm beginning to move what can stay here upstairs (books, art, small items) and the rest of it (all furniture, clothes, everything in closets) gets moved out. Luckily we can store most of it in the garage - a moving company is going to wrap it all and haul it out when the time comes. Right now all the rugs are pulled up and either tossed (thank you Chloe) or in storage, so it sounds like an echo chamber. Having moved about 11 times I should be a pro at it, but it’s never fun. • The timeline is the only question mark, as is finding a place that will allow all of our creatures. But I'm confident it will happen - we are just in a holding pattern while all the details get ironed out because there are a lot of moving parts to this fiasco! We hope to be out in the next month or so and then back in 2-3 months. We all know how this stuff works - it's never as seamless as we'd like it to be. • I am terrible when it comes to the uncertainty and worrying about the animals, but I know it could be a lot worse and we'll get through it. In the meanwhile, the books look much more vast in number like this than they did on the bookshelves. And carrying them upstairs is quite a workout. Those are my weekend plans! • Happy Friday!

5 tons. The average library bound book weighs 1.5 pounds. The average shelf in our stacks held 25-30 books. There are 12 shelves per unit. We have 42 units in our adult fiction section. Each unit holds approximately 150 books. 150 books multiplied by 42 equals 6,300 books. Multiply 6,300 books by 1.5 pounds and you get 9,450 pounds. 1 ton=2000 pounds. Divide 9,450 pounds by 2000 (1 ton) and you get 4.725 tons of books. Had a solid day yesterday at the 563 Strongman Classic. I did a bunch of new events for me, and overall, I was really pleased with my showing throughout the day. Started with my first ever yoke walk. (600lbs for 25 ft followed by 705lbs for 25ft) I need to get a yoke because I firmly believe this could be a very good event for me in the future. After yoke, there was an axle press ladder (200lbs, 220lbs, and a miss at 240). Ladder concept was new, and I had 60secs to finish all three. *Over the last year I've had very limited pressing ability due to 2 long head bicep injuries, so I'll take it. Next up was my first tractor push and pull (50ft). Had two big equipment malfunctions with the handle getting stuck at the transition and the chain getting caught and the slack popping right as I was about to cross the finish line. I was on pace to win the event, but got knocked down to 3rd. It is what it is. *The fall ended up being a bit worse than I thought, and I lost a lot of strength and mobility around my elbow. After losing a point in the tractor push/pull, I needed to go all out on the car deadlift. Got 25 reps in 60secs. 26th rep was close, but I just couldn't lock it out in time. Going into the final stone event, I was tied for 2nd. The first stone I tried to load just wouldn't go. I had a heck of a time trying to crush the stone in order to get a good grip on it. Zeroed it, but the guy I was tied with also zeroed, so we went into a tie breaker. The tie breaker was a yoke press (elbow screaming with excitement :D ). I either got up to a successful 200 or 220, but boy was this one painful. Happy I got the reps that I did. (Also new event for me) All in all, I'm really happy with my overall improvements from my last comp. In the end, equipment issues or not, I had a fun time. Always room for improvement. One day after what was the beginning of my 4th year into strongman, I got 3rd overall, qualified for Nationals, and I am hungrier than ever to keep pushing. I saw @kenzienoelle.reads post a #jugglemytbrchallenge and I thought “hey I can do that” . It was really hard trying to hold on to both of these stacks and snap a photo at the same time. And my wrists hurt afterwards. But I did have fun doing this challenge. Worked up to a top set of 605x2. The audio of the 585x3 was great to hear on the playback. I don't often lift in a gym with other people around, so it was cool to see the support of everyone. P.S. I repped from the top because I'm trying to maintain tightness throughout (I've gotten a little sloppy with form, so I'm trying to fix that bad boy.)
