The first stop on my #IndependentBookstoreMonth was @novelneighbor in St. Louis! I adore this store. One of my favorite features is the wall of staff favorites, shown in second slide, as I have consistently found gems here. Two of the staff like the same books I do so I’m eager to hear what they have loved! Four of the five books I bought today were recommended by either Kelli or Alicia! Kelli did a great job of selling me books! 😃 The remaining book was a MG that @no.more.shelf.control featured today and when I saw it and thought of what Melissa said, I grabbed it too. I highly recommend this store. The only thing it lacks is a great coffee shop!

Die Optik des Buches hat mich sofort überzeugt und da es das erste Buch von der Autorin war, welches ich gelesen habe, war ich wahnsinnig gespannt was mich erwarten wird 🎙️ Der Schreibstil war super angenehm und schnell zu lesen. Ich habe mich sofort wohlgefühlt. Auch die Idee der Geschichte, mit der Sweet Lemon Agency, das Hörbuchsprechen oder auch das Klaras Eltern Gehörlos sind hat mir super gut gefallen. Sowas habe ich bis jetzt noch nicht gelesen. Klara hat mir wahnsinnig gut gefallen. Ihre Leidenschaft für das Hörbuch und seinen Sprecher fand ich super süß. Sie ist einfach ein Herzensguter Mensch und man kann sie einfach nur ins Herz schließen. Ich konnte mich gut mit ihr identifizieren. 🌺 Noel brauchte etwas länger um mich von sich zu überzeugen. Am Anfang fand ich ihn nicht zu 100% sympathisch . Das hat sich aber sofort geändert als er mehr Zeit mit Klara verbracht hat. Ab dort fand ich ihn wirklich süß und er hatte richtiges Boyfriend Material. Auch Seine Entwicklung fand ich richtig gut. Hätte gerne mal seine Stimme in dem Hörbuch gehört 🎙️ Das Buch konnte mich echt begeistern. Ich hatte zwar hin und wieder Momente wo einige Dinge mir etwas zu schnell gingen aber alles in allem fand ich die Geschichte rund um Karla und Noel echt schön. What a wonderful day It was Canadian Independent Bookstore Day. @_curiouslyclaire_ and I headed out to explore some bookstores in the area that were participating in the festivities. Started at @rookerybookstore in Cambridge- a lovely little shop where I picked up a book and got some swag as part of the day! As we were in Cambridge, we stopped at @cafedumonde1 to see our pal Nadia, get some lunch and chat about “entrepreneur life”. Delicious as always. 📚 LECTURE TERMINEE 📚 : 🌻 HURLEMENTS 🌻 De @alexis_laipsker Par les éditions @editionsmichellafon 🖤 MON AVIS 🖤 : J’ai l’habitude de lire des thrillers psychologiques plutôt gentillets : avec du suspense, de l’intrigue et une fin « woaw ». Pour le coup, je n’avais jamais lu de thriller aussi glaçant. Je ne compte plus le nombre de fois où j’ai dit « beurk beurk beurk », où j’ai fermé les yeux en agitant les mains comme si ce que je venais de lire allait s’effacer de ma mémoire ou du moins, que mon imaginaire allait arrêter de fonctionner immédiatement. Malgré le fait que j’ai été dégoûté à chaque évènement traumatisant (pour ma part), j’ai adoré ma lecture (certainement mon côté sadique) ! C’était rédigé comme j’aime : ✔️ Des chapitres courts ✔️ Une écriture à la troisième personne ✔️ Une alternance de scène/personnage à chaque chapitre ✔️ La dernière phrase de chaque chapitre : glaçante à souhait ! C’est page turner sans l’ombre d’un doute. Le rythme est effréné, l’intrigue bien menée jusqu’au bout. J’étais complètement dedans et je ne m’attendais pas à ce dénouement et je dois dire que ça m’a coupé le souffle. @alexis_laipsker est un auteur avec un talent incontestable. C’est le premier de l’auteur que je lis mais cela m’a donné très envie de découvrir les autres. Une plume addictive et sanglante comme on aime ! Happy World Book Day Booksta!! It's our day to shine 🥰🥰 I'm so grateful for books and the love of reading. There's just something about how each book takes me to a different world 🌎 ✨️ Today is a day to celebrate authors, illustrators, everyone that is involved in the process of creating books, and of course the joy of reading itself. I always have loved reading from a young age. We used to have a speech therapist come into our house when I was rlly young to try to help my younger sister learn to speak. I was maybe 5ish, and she would bring all these little flip books to read with her and I can remember taking as many as I could so I could read them 😅🤣 I took a few years of a break when I went for my Bachelor's as there was so much reading in my undergrad (English major ofc 🥳) that reading outside of hw just felt like a chore for a little. I reconnected with my love of reading a little over 2 years ago, shortly before my grandmother passed. She was a teacher for 39 years and ALWAYS took us to Barnes & Noble for a book or two whenever she had us. She's one of the reasons why I'm such a big reader and I owe her an eternity for that 💖💖 When she was declining I remember turning to books again for the first time in YEARS and ummm....here we are! Forever grateful for my grandmother for nurturing that love of reading, and I'm so grateful for my books each and every day. Die finale Entscheidung steht an und die Rebellen die das Land Illeá bedrohen, werden immer gefährlicher. 📝Inhalt (ggf. Spoiler enthalten!): America hat sich nun entschieden um die Gunst des Prinzen zu kämpfen. Jetzt stehen ihr nur noch 3 Mädchen zwischen ihr und Maxon. Aber für welche wird er sich entscheiden? Zumal der König mit allen Mitteln versucht Maxon und America auseinander zu bringen. Zur gleichen Zeit setzen Rebellen den Palast immer mehr unter Druck. America wird auch klar das sie nicht nur für sich kämpft, sondern auch für ganz Illeá. 👉Fazit: Der 3. Band ist definitiv ein guter Abschluss. Er ist von Anfang bis Ende spannend. Die Geschichte zwischen Maxon und America spitzt sich richtig zu und man fiebert einfach mit. Der Druck steigt auch spürbar, gerade weil der König unaufhörlich versucht den beiden zu zusetzen. Zusätzlich machen auch die Rebellen immer mehr Ärger und das gibt dem Buch die gehörige "Würze". As a completely objective third-party observer with no personal interest in the matter (aka no life of my own, living vicariously through fiction etc etc), I felt the extreme need to pair some of my Austen faves with #TSTTPD lyrics. This is huge tumblr behaviour from me and those days are BEHIND me but I momentarily forgot how fun it is to be a fangirl and I thoroughly enjoyed making this. A Sunday arvo well spent 🤭 Anyway some of these genuinely made me weepy and some of these made me laugh and the whole album screams Marianne but I tried to share the love. Further thoughts welcome as always. Jane herself included twice because she would have loved this album in all its melodramatic glory and I stand by that. I am once again begging someone to make a good Austen biopic.

A Willa é uma personagem que adorei, super divertida. I love history, but the Jacobites are not my field so this was a bit hard to get into at first. Once done, I thouroughly appreciated it. There are some interesting characters here, f.e. the MacGillivrays, Donald Mòr, the Farquharsons and Julia Rose. Lots of intriguing and fun moments. A story based on true events, very well and interestingly told and with a good conclusion. . Und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht 🩷 Ich mochte Nash und Lina im ersten Band. Jetzt liebe ich sie. Ihre Geschichte ist mir sofort ans Herz gegangen und das Buch hätte für mich noch ewig weitergehen können. Ich meine Hotshot und Angel? Kann man nur lieben 🩷 Es war so schön wieder in Knockmout zu sein und die Bekannten Charaktere wieder dabei zu haben. Aber auch die neuen Charaktere waren super interessant und konnten mich sofort überzeugen. Zu lesen wie Nash mit seinem Angriff und den Folgen zu kämpfen hat war schmerzhaft. Man konnte so gut nachempfinden was er durchmacht und wie sehr es ihn belastet. Umso schöner war es als Lina in sein Leben gekommen ist. Ihre lockere und schlagfertige Art war einfach super. Man merkte schnell wie sehr die beiden sich guttun und brauchen. Ihre Geschichte ist atemberaubend, heiß und einfach schön. Ich musste sehr oft lachen. Besonders über Naomi und Sloane🌸 Ich liebe diese Reihe einfach. Das Setting, die Charaktere, den Spice. 📖Review Deon Meyer - Leeuw📖 ➡️Swipe om te zien waar het verhaal over gaat ❓️💜Heb jij al eens iets van deze schrijver gelezen? Dit was mijn 1e kennismaking met deze schrijver en die heeft mij aangenaam verrast. Het boek leest makkelijk weg ook al heeft het 500 pagina's. Het is goed opgebouwd met afwisseling tussen rustige en snellere scènes met spanning. Het verhaal wordt verteld uit verschillende perspectieven dit is overigens niet storend dit maakt het verhaal juist duidelijker. Er zitten veel cliffhangers in het boek wat het spannend maakt. Het is een heerlijk detective rechercheur verhaal en je puzzelt zelf mee naar de oplossing gedurende het verhaal. Alleen het plot vond ik wat ongeloofwaardig, het past wel bij het genre maar toch vond ik dit jammer. Verder vond ik het een leuk boek! 📚 LECTURE TERMINEE 📚 : 🌻 PERSONNE NE DOIT SAVOIR 🌻 De @clairemcgowanwriter Par les éditions @hautevillefr 🖤 MON AVIS 🖤 : J’ai écouté ce livre en version audio pour avoir l’expérience et l’ambiance d’un thriller en « temps réel » et ça a fonctionné car la personne qui lit ce livre y a mis le ton et changeait sa voix à chaque personnage. Grâce à cela, on ne perd pas le fil de l’histoire et on sait facilement qui parle. Ce jeu d’acteur nous plonge dans l’ambiance du récit et nous tient en haleine à chaque chapitre. L’intrigue est la suivante : qui est l’agresseur ? Dès le début, les soupçons sont sur Mike et tout, absolument TOUT, porte à croire que c’est lui. Personnellement, j’ai eu des doutes directement car cela me paraissait trop simple. Pourtant, au fur et à mesure, le doute continuait de s’installer en moi, mais une petite voix dans ma tête me laissait à penser qu’il y avait poisson sous caillou 🐟 L'épilogue : mais quel retournement de situation ! 😱 Je ne m’attendais pas à ça ! L’autrice m’a bien eue et j’en suis très contente car c’est exactement ce que je recherche en lisant un thriller psychologique. Un plot twist en apothéose et une fin dont je me délecte (peut-être mon côté sadique 🤗) Vous voulez savoir de quoi je parle ? De qui je parle ? Quel crime ? Roman prati radnju od njihovih desetak godina do ranih četrdesetih. The scream I scrempt when I unwrapped this bad boy for my birthday 🥹 I always wander secondhand bookshops in the hope that I’ll see a Mr Boddington’s Penguin Classic but have never been so lucky (and this isn’t surprising, most people know what they’ve got + these editions weren’t released in Aus as far as I know) so to OWN one?!?! Die Dark Castle Reihe ist alles davon und noch viel mehr🖤 Auch der 6te Band, Dark Risky Castle konnte mich wieder komplett überzeugen. Von Anfang an war Spannung da, gerade weil die Bücher immer mit einem gemeinem Cliffhänger enden. Man war sofort wieder in der Geschichte drin und man kann einfach nicht aufhören zu lesen. Innerhalb von 2 Tagen habe ich das Buch verschlungen. Diesmal muss Madison einiges mehr über sich ergehen lassen. Besonders in der ersten Hälfte musste ich oft mit mir kämpfen nicht das Buch an die Wand zu werfen. Einigen Charakteren hätte ich gerne ins Gesicht gehauen. Aber wie Madison nunmal ist, lässt sie sich nicht unterkriegen und ist wahnsinnig stark. Ich hätte in diesem Buch Extrem Respekt vor ihr. Aber auch die Lords waren Feuer pur und konnten mich wieder sehr in ihren Bann ziehen. Man lernt sie mit jedem Buch mehr kennen und lieben. Was anderes geht auch garnicht. Besonders Joaquim gefällt mir immer mehr. Ich bin sehr gespannt noch mehr von ihnen zu erfahren. Die Dark Castle Reihe ist wirklich unglaublich gut, spannend und sehr Spicy. Und ich liebe alles daran. Von mir aus könnte sie noch unendlich lange gehen. Ganz besonders gefällt mir das Rote Cover. Ich finde es einfach nur super schön. Ich bin sehr gespannt wie die Geschichte rund um Madison und die Lords weitergeht. A bear crosses their paths one day and each sister reacts very differently to the sudden presence of the bear in their lives ... I lapped this one up. My built-in sympathy for, and solidarity with, oldest daughters was tested and my ability to like unlikeable characters was proven. I didn’t see the ending coming but I don’t see how it could have ended in any other way. For some reason (maybe the cover??? I don’t know) I was under the impression this was historical fiction but it’s modern, set in the wake of the pandemic (but not distractingly so) and it was such a quick read. I flew through it. Loved it. 🐻

She explores the world in silence but all the comes to a stand still 300 years later when she enters a bookstore and the owner remembers her! This book was a slow burner and once I got into it I was hooked I enjoyed the haunting eerie feel to it and the concept BECAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR! I go back to her books over and over again. There is just something about a gentleman in a historical romance that makes you swoon.
