First full body pix in more than a year. The reason? Well I gained weight, my health wasn’t up to par and unfortunately the treatment made me put on weight. And let’s be honest I kinda fell out of the fitness wagon. I used to train up to four days a week and all of a sudden finding time to fit in a session was way more complicated that it should be. Between unemployment and starting a new position I just couldn’t find the will and the drive to go to a class. This is the way life is, I can try to find myself excuses but it would be useless. So for the last month or so I started back again a routine. Trying to do CrossFit twice a week and my end goal is to add a boxing session in between. Back on the fitness wagon for around 2 months now.... working out each day and eating pretty well. Not going too badly 😏 Clearly feeling a bit smug and got ahead of myself today, though. My confidence did not match my abilities 🤣🤣🤣 Did @carolinegirvan Iron Series Day 3 after work, and instead of a stretch, I thought I'd make the most of the sun and go for a walk. An unexpected surge of motivation meant that my walk was actually a 5k run. Bad times that the motivation only lasted for half of the run. The second half was a disgusting slog!! I've had much better runs, but for the first one in a looooooong while, it wasn't totally shameful. You never really know where your going to end up…. When I started these home workouts in May 2019, it was to gain healthy weight, find confidence in my skinny body and to find the energy I was so desperately craving. Never in a million years did I think it would lead me here. With many ups and downs, major surgeries to a lower back injury I never thought my body could transform into something so strong and powerful. Looking back it was a tough start, there were times I feel off the fitness wagon. (More than I care to admit lol) but one day it just clicked. The more consistent I was the more I realized it created a new found meaning to my life. My mood was better, my energy levels increased and I became more confident in my body. What’s my point with this post? It doesn’t have to be pretty. It doesn’t have to be 100% on point. It doesn’t need to be crazy intense activity It doesn’t need to be 100% balanced I mean, of course it helps to get those most desirable results but you literally have your entire life to get it right. Yes, there will be times you want it more and you’ll work harder towards it but there will also be times you just feel burnt out and need to listen to your body to rest - AND THAT’S PERFECTLY FINE!! It’s your life, live it but be mindful of your goals too. They are just as important as you are!! What is ‘it’? 🤷🏼‍♀️ I wish I could tell you exactly. But I think ‘it’ is different for everyone. What I do know is, if you’ve fallen out of your routine and want to get it back, only you can do it! Here’s some of my top tips to getting it back… 1. Hire a trainer or buddy up Accountability might be what you need! Book in for classes, pt sessions or schedule a session with a friend. That way, you’re less likely to back out! 2. Remind yourself where you started Sometimes people quit because they feel disheartened with their progress. Remind yourself where you started, look back at old progress pics and stats to see how far you’ve come 3. Set new goals I think a refresh always reignites motivation. Start thinking about where you want to go and set some goals to get there 4. Re-evaluate what didn’t work You need to decide what didn’t work last time and re-evaluate what to do moving forward. Set yourself up for a success before you start! Hopefully these tips help you if you’ve fallen off the wagon. Just remember sometimes you have to give yourself a kick up the butt initially to get yourself going again. Then hopefully it’ll become habitual 💪🏽

A jacket potato, 2 quorn fillets and shredded cabbage, peas and edamame beans sautéed in a little "I can't believe it's not butter Light". I normally have my jacket spuds swimming in butter so wasn't overly excited about this potato, but I thoroughly enjoyed all of it. I love green veg so that's a winner too. The most used word in these times. ⁣ “ Fallen of track”⁣ ⁣ I mean apart from covid.. but we wont go into that.⁣ ⁣ Starting your new diet⁣ ⁣ *drops calories by 1,000 a day, 0 carb , increased step count by 15k a day , now exercises 6 times a week when currently does 1 workout ⁣ Everything is exciting & your smashing that obscenely low calorie intake ⁣ ⁣ Saturday hits, your family arranges a get together and there is lot of food. ⁣ You have to give in,⁣ ⁣ Sunday hits, and so do your emotions ⁣ ⁣ Your suddenly overwhelmed with the thought that for the 3rd week in a row you have fallen of the imaginary train track⁣ because its just to hard⁣ ⁣ And its all over and ruined.⁣ ⁣ Mentally your forcing yourself to feel like a failure even though its just food⁣ ⁣ Even though 3 weeks ago you didnt care about eating food over your calories ⁣ ⁣ If you step back a moment ⁣ ⁣ Understand that your putting an incredibly stupid amount of pressure on yourself by ⁣ ⁣ 1 - Setting to unreasonable goals⁣ ⁣ 2 - Pretending that your weight loss is going to be a seamless⁣ ⁣ The moment you really nail down and remind yourself that your journey NEEDS to be sustainable, manageable and ACTUALLY FIT INTO YOUR CURRENT LIFE⁣ ⁣ The sooner you will stop falling “ off track”⁣ ⁣ And start understanding this is a much bigger picture

Feeling a little vulnerable posting this journey. But hey. Maybe it helps others who have fallen off the fitness wagon like I have, unable (and now generally unwilling) to trek to the gym, trainer or studio during this continuing pandemic. I installed this home aerial apparatus from X-Pole thinking I’d be training far earlier and more often. Yet with all of the work associated with a new move and a new job, not to mention waiting forever on equipment including my practice mat for 6 weeks ... well it’s meant I’ve done next to zero. Here is the first time I’m getting back on the hoop for anything other than load testing since March. Blisters ensue! (Not shown: conditioning work done on Lyra earlier)

This is going to be THE THING that changes my life!” Then...my plans would change and I’d miss 1 workout or I’d end up going out for drinks and fast food with Tyler instead of cooking at home. And I’d let that get to me. I let that little bit of “off-plan” behavior send me in a tailspin and I’d “fall off the wagon.”  Friends, I have a truth bomb for you. ✖✖THERE IS NO WAGON!✖✖ There is no all or nothing when you’re living a HEALTHY LIFESTYLE! Once I finally wrapped my head around the fact that those beer nights and days where I missed a workout weren’t going to make me lose all my progress and that I could pick right back up where I left off...THAT was when my life changed. That’s when I finally took control of my life!  Does anybody else struggle with this “all or nothing” mindset? I love kettlebells... One of the best way to train ur clients is use kettlebell workouts which will develop strength and improve their metabolic rate ..also improves their stability.. Kettlebell clean and press is my personal favourite. Mite look simple..but need a proper technique and form to perform this. Before performing this ,give a proper mobility for ur shoulders,hip & then ur wrist! U must activate ur Transverse abdominis , then u must know how to do a kettlebell clean first. This is the basic technique which u must know as it teaches u how to handle a kettlebell perfectly....initiate ur hip, pick the kettlebell off the floor go for the clean and all the way to the top for the press. Balanced diet is nothing but, the each and every meal should have the rite proportions of macros( carbs, protein & fats) and rite amount of micros. If u r a person who wants to reduce weight and u cut down ur carbs from ur diet by avoiding rice forever, there is no one dumber than u in this whole world. 4. It's essential not to workout in a A/c room and also should turn off the Fan if u wanna lose fat! Well, this is one hell of a statement u would have heard a lot more times in most of the gyms. That's stupidity..lemme u say u something.. the optimal temperature for workout is 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit. Some people prefer outdoor workouts during weekends and that's great.. but they must keep in mind that the temperature is within the optimal level and it should not be either low or high that our body won't withstand such hotness leading to health issues like heatstroke..as the humidity of the air and our body already stated to dissipate the heat through skin which makes it even more hotness around ur body thus putting to danger...hence if u do outdoor workouts in summer drink lot of fluids and be hydrated during the session.. And for cold weather, the same principle applies that if the temperature goes below 0 degree and so on, our body can't withstand it and leads to frostbite and hypothermia... And for the fat loss guys, who wants to reduce them it's not mandatory to wear a sweat suit or something to drop a sweat nor turn off ur air conditioner and fan. What happens when u wear such suits and turn off ur cooling systems around ur atmosphere doesn't do any good other than water loss from ur body . But what u feel is " we are losing more fat through sweat" it's a whole new level of misconception that's been in existence from a very long time..thereby u will lose more water and creates dehydration and health related issues will follow sooner or later if u continue to do so..
