once you've learned & practiced proper failure reps, lengthened partials post-failure are useful intensifiers. they squeeze out the last few stimulative reps you can still do even though you can't do a full rep anymore, in the most stimulative position (when the muscle is stretched). I wouldn't suggest these on everything all the time - failure is very fatiguing, so reps past failure are even more so. try incorporating for your body part of focus, only on the last set, to start, up to a max of all sets for most of that body part, and not forever. I made a point in one of the slides here to think of your reps like a hydraulic system - closing (lowering back to starting position/eccentric) should be resisted & much slower than opening (concentric). don't slam the door. this continues with partials, until you barely move. partials aren't bouncy - discipline them just like the full reps. you'll find you get more partials on a pulling movement than a pushing one - pushes tend to fail more abruptly, partly because you can push harder when the top of the rep is basically a tension-free micro-rest (the middle of a push rep between concentric & eccentric isn't hard to hold, but a pull rep is). but I digress. 🎥 : @d_k_h_138 📍 : @jujimufu land ~ 🛠️link in bio to work with me⚒️ @teamevilgsp @boujiebarbarian

Training dump from the last week or so. The deadlifts in a suit are starting to get smoother. The same weight last week that was a grinder was moving smoothly for multiple sets and reps this week. LYING DUMBBELL REAR DELT RAISE The Lying Dumbbell Rear Delt Raise is an effective exercise for targeting the muscles in the back of your shoulders. To perform this exercise, lie face down on an incline bench with a dumbbell in each hand. Start with your arms hanging straight down towards the floor, palms facing each other. Keeping your arms straight, raise them out to the sides until they are parallel to the floor. Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the top of the movement, then slowly lower the dumbbells back to the starting position. Including the Lying Dumbbell Rear Delt Raise in your routine can help improve your shoulder strength and posture. Here's an example routine that incorporates this exercise: 1. Barbell Shoulder Press: 3 sets of 8-10 reps 2. Lying Dumbbell Rear Delt Raise: 3 sets of 12-15 reps 3. Bent-Over Dumbbell Rows: 3 sets of 10-12 reps 4. Seated Arnold Press: 3 sets of 8-10 reps 5. Face Pulls: 3 sets of 12-15 reps Remember to start with a weight that challenges you but allows you to maintain proper form. As you get stronger, gradually increase the weight. Take breaks between sets to allow your muscles to recover. And most importantly, listen to your body and stop if you feel any pain or discomfort. Quick update from today’s session 🏋️‍♂️: I aimed for a 205 lbs shoulder press, but guess what? I hit 185 lbs instead. And that’s perfectly OK! Remember, progress is progress, no matter the pace. Small wins in each session. I have long term goals for each lift, big goals, but in every session I focus on the next small step. If I focus on the fact that I want to add 40 kg to my presses it can be a bit unmotivating because that goal seems so far away. If I focus on the fact that I can add 1-2 kg and I can match reps in this session and I tick that off then I know I am one step closer to that big 40 kg goal. That’s a more direct goal. But if I can tick off those 1-2 kg added in each session then all of a sudden I will have ticked off the big goal of 40 kg. In order to do this though I must be there, 100% there in each session and approach it like it’s the most important thing in the world, which at the moment for me it is. EVERY SESSION is a chance to step closer to the bigger goal, so you decide what you are going to do with this session, how are you gonna approach it?
