We’re back! Tell your friends 😮💨 In 2023 I had one goal - read the Wheel of Time. Many of my bookworm friends have recommended it to me, but I have been intimidated by the 15 book series, especially because I don’t listen to audio books and I prefer to read series in as close to one-go as possible. I started the Eye of the World on January 1st finished the prequel, New Spring, on December 1st. I averaged over 30 pages a day to finish 4.4 million words. The first chapter of each book starts the same (after some weirdly long prologues), and I fell in love with the intro: “The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again…..The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.” That is some PROSE and gave me chills Every. Single. Time. My other favorite thing about WoT was the wild amount of characters. Through 147 unique character POVs, I got to see the entire continent, learning about the cultures and the characters as well. Plus I love a reason to consult the glossary/index. My favorite book was probably The Lord of Chaos, followed by the Knife of Dreams and the Great Hunt. Seriously if you are struggling with books 8-10 you are NOT ALONE! They are boring as hell. But I did find joy in getting to spend more time with all the characters. Thank you Robert Jordan for giving me a memorable year and kudos to Brandon Sanderson for finishing the series off! P.S. Don’t go thinking that this is all I did last year. I also read 14 other books and started writing my own! The Shadow Rising by Robert Jordan This was a reread for me but I will be honest I had forgotten a great deal and I definitely think I enjoyed this book more on the second read. At times I could not put this book down. Perrin has always been my favourite character in the series and I loved the fact we got so much more of Perrin in this book and Perrin on his own without Rand all the time. I also loved how we ended up back in the Two Rivers and got to meet people from the first book again and see their characters develop further. Perrin’s chapters were definitely the chapters I couldn’t put down and flew through. My least favourite character in the series so far is Mat. Mat has got to be one of the most annoying characters I have ever come across in a book series. I keep hoping he will improve and become less annoying. I have many books to read to see whether a less annoying Mat will ever happen. I would have really liked to have seen a bit more of Egwene in this book but once she met the wise ones she kind of disappeared from the story and just became a background character. Thankfully, we got to see plenty of Nynaeve and Elayne in this book as I always love Nynaeve’s spirit and stubbornness. They had plenty of dangerous adventures of their own. Rand is definitely growing up in this book. He accepts who he is and his destiny and he starts to plan and work out exactly what he needs to do to fulfil his destiny. I really enjoyed seeing this side of Rand and I liked how he integrated in with Aiel. I absolutely loved this book but I am glad I decided to read it alongside other books. Well the slump is real. I had a really hard time getting through this one. I didn’t want to pick it up. The one good thing going for it is that it’s shorter than the previous books. Met će ostati uz Randa, Perin će se vratiti u Dve reke, a u Tar Valonu dolazi do preokreta među Aes Sedai. Što se tiče likova, i dalje su mi favoriti Perin i Faila. Tu je i Moiraina ali ona mi je nešto utihnula. Prati Randa zajedno sa Lanom, ali mirna je. U ovom delu imate i onaj "awwww" momenat koji me je slatko nasmejao. Prva četiri dela su mi priredila razna iznenađenja koja nisam mogla da pretpostavim. Jedina zamerka koju bih imala je da Rand ne treba da se bavi politikom u ovom delu 😁 Negde sam videla u komentarima da je Džordan razvukao radnju i dosađivao sa opisima nekih možda nebitnih stvari. Ja sam nekako na te njegove opise i sporu radnju navikla, pa mi za sada ne smeta. Svaki put sam se uverila da sve to dođe na svoje. Robert Jordan - Kolo času Ak milujete Pána prsteňov a niečo podobné vám chýba, tak Oko světa - Kolo času I. je ním jednoznačne inšpirované. Nie je to čistá vykrádačka, ale veľmi príjemne napísaná fantasy. Keďže všetko už bolo vymyslené, je len na autorovej šikovnosti ako dokáže niečo uchopiť po svojom a Robert Jordan to spravil spôsobom, že som mu to uverila od prvého slova po posledné. Knihu som si aj vypočula a v blízkej dobe si mám v pláne pozrieť seriál, nemá až také hrozné hodnotenie na ČSFD. TV Review: The Wheel of Time, Season 2 As mentioned before, I mostly stick to book reviews, but I’m making an exception for this one because 1) it’s based on a series of widely-loved fantasy novels and 2) The Wheel of Time was my introduction to one of my favorite authors, Brandon Sanderson, whose characters feature prominently in my character art on this page. So, first, a bit of background: When I heard that WoT was going to be adapted for TV, I pretty much decided that I’d be happy with an adaptation that was the same characters, same world, and same major plot points/events, but I’d be okay with the characters taking different paths to get to those plot points/events. After all, it would be impossible to take a series of 14 huge novels and condense them down into 8 seasons without having to make some major storyline changes to get everything to flow well, and the fun thing about The Wheel of Time is that you can just imagine an adaptation as a different turning of the Wheel. So Season 1 rolled around, and it was… mixed. My biggest issue was that the tone was off for much of the season, feeling more like a melodrama at times (no disrespect to melodramas, but that’s not really the vibe the books have). There were also some changes I really was NOT happy with, the most notable being a certain character who is introduced only to be killed off in the first episode. However, there were enough points throughout S1 where I found myself going “oooh! They nailed that!” or catching fun little Easter eggs and foreshadowing that I found myself cautiously optimistic about Season 2. And blood and bloody ashes, did Season 2 surpass my wildest expectations. (Con’t in comments)

Hikayedeki evrenin adı ne bilmiyorum ama Çark diye bir şey var, bu çarktan kasıt zaman/kader ağı ve gerçekten ilginç bir çıkış noktası, desen diye bahsettiği şey de yine kaderin ağları denebilir, özgün terimler işlenmesi hoşuma gitti. Bir tane yenidoğan ejder var o dünyayı karanlıktan kurtaracak ama ilk sezon onun bile beş çocuktan hangisi olduğu belli değildi. 2.sezonda ejderi gördük ama o da yanlışlıkla karanlığın efendisini öldürdüm sanıp aslında en güçlü yardımcısını ortaya çıkarmış. Mal🥶Sonra kendi kendine tribe girip arkadaşlarına ve sevdiği kıza kendini öldü gösterdi, uzaklara gitti huzurevi gibi bir yerde temizlikçilik yapıyor orada yaşlı bir amcaya bakıyor ve bir kadınla yatıyor ne ayak anlamak mümkün değil. Sen koskoca ejdersin burada ne demeye bok temizliyorsun da demiyor kimse, bir haller bir tavırlar öf içim şişti. Had a good feeling when went to get it from the locker before last weekend. It was on route for about a week. 🗡️Avis🗡️ La Roue du temps Robert Jordan 2,5⭐️/5 Un avis vraiment très mitigé, c’est la première fois que je vis ça. La série m’avait beaucoup plu mais je dois avouer que le bouquin ne m’a pas transporté dans l’univers. Je ne me suis pas senti happée par l’histoire, qui pourtant dans l’idée me plait, mais il manquait ce petit quelque chose, cette petite étincelle qui m’aurait fait m’attacher aux personnages. Sauf pour le personnage de Moiraine là vraiment je dis bravo. La longueur des chapitres (parfois presque 30 pages 🥵) n’a sûrement pas aidé à me sentir bien dans ma lecture non plus et il y avait vraiment beaucoup de longueur, par moment c’était vraiment très mou. Je ne sais pas encore si je lirais la suite de la saga parce que pour le moment ce serait plus me forcer qu’autre chose. Fui apanhada a ler A Sombra Alastra, o quarto livro da série A Roda Do Tempo de Robert Jordan. É um calhamaço gigantesco com muita informação, mas pouca ação. Achei que comparado com os outros volumes, este foi o pior. Isto porque se repete, mas mesmo assim avançamos na história, mesmo que lentamente. ✅ As lutas foram a melhor parte do livro. Nynaeve e Rand defrontam renegados 🫣 ✅ Quando a história estava “parada” as Aes Sedai fazem algo que não estava à espera 🤯 De resto Perrin parece aquele velhote de 70 anos sempre a queixar-se e a dizer que não é um líder ou senhor, mas continua a dar ordens 🤭. Rand é o tipo que sabe tudo, mas não conta a ninguém os seus planos. Nem ao leitor e ainda se põe a rir 😜 sozinho como se tivesse piada. *best Rand moments ❤️ Love Mat. We’re onto the sixth book in the Wheel of Time series now! The Fires of Heaven ended up being really good, though I found myself a little bored in the middle. Going into this one was a little daunting with its 1007 pages but it didn’t disappoint. The world gets even larger and Jordan does a good job of describing it. There was pretty good balance between character development and plot. Rand is much more likeable in this one. He actually pulls himself together, grows up and realises he cannot escape his destiny. The female characters are becoming stronger as the book go on and I’m definitely liking them more and more. Overall a good instalment of the Wheel Of Time world.
