The prequal to The School for Good and Evil, tells the story of how School Masters Rhian and Rafal slowly grew apart and would eventually one would turn on the other. I couldn’t wait to return to the incredible world @somanc had created and I was not disappointed. These two books were a rollercoaster ride right from the start and as much as I thought I knew how the story was going to end (I mean we all knew what happens because we learn it in School for Good and Evil) the end completely blew me away. It has been a time since the moment I finished reading the book and the moment I’m writing the review, so it won’t be as fresh as it would have been then. But I kind of liked it. Kind of because it was pretty hurtful for a girl feeling identified with the lot of emotions shown there, especially Agatha’s. For when she thought she was right. And for when she noticed she was wrong. I felt like Sophie too, when she was desperately looking for someone that loved her. So it was painful. But it also showed me that I was right to think that one of the things this story was teaching me was to be true to myself. They weren’t and that’s why everything happened (uhm, Tedros was truer to someone else than himself, but I liked that, he was soft and cute and open and loyal to the person he loved, trusting them a lot more than himself, and for that I forgive him). Also because they don’t communicate, I really don’t understand! You’re honest and open from the start and you save a lot of that. It was maddening, a bit, but that’s how that story is. At least it had a happy ending for everyone, but the villain. Well, the Big Bad Villain and his league, because it has lots of villains and not all of them deserved bad. I like happy endings. Though honestly I didn’t expected the book to finish right were it did, thinking that it would show us some of what it talked a lot during the three journeys, but that’s okay. I can be content with it. Even when my friend didn’t read it with me this time, she didn’t even start it at all.

THE LAST EVER AFTER BY SOMAN CHAINANI Book 3 in The School for Good and Evil (spoilers ahead) • Each united with her true love, Sophie and Agatha are worlds apart. But the fairytale world hangs in the balance as old Evils rise from the dead and stories are being rewritten. If there is any hope of survival, Sophie and Agatha must choose which side they fight for, together or apart. • I am strongly of the opinion that Book 2 should not exist, and we should have skipped straight to this one. A little rewriting, and this one would be perfectly the sequel. But it’s fine. I must say, I prefer this story’s new characters. Pulling in old fairytale names (Cinderella, Merlin, etc) was to be expected, I suppose, but I think this story is better when those famous characters are mentioned instead of involved. I also think that Agatha deserves way better than Tedros AND Sophie, but that’s just me. This book was better than its predecessor and equal with the first in its series. I know there are more sequels after this, but for me, this is a good ending and a good partner to the first School for Good and Evil. 7.5/10

✨Cosples 2023✨ Někteří z vás si toho nejspíš už všimli, začínám se čím dál víc věnovat postavám z knížek a k vašemu zděšení toho plánuji ještě víc. 🙈 V tomhle duchu se nesl i cosples. Zamilovala jsem se do knížní série Školy dobra a zla a to díky filmu, který vyšel už minulý rok na podzim. Samozřejmě i zde jsou knížní předlohy o dost pestřejší a člověk v nich vidí, jak hlavní hrdinky dospívají, chybují a poznávají sami sebe. Tohle je nejvíce vidět právě u Sophie, kterou jsem si nejvíce zamilovala i přesto, že má pár zlých zlozvyků a když něco chce, je schopná jít i přes mrtvoly (doslova). ✨Cosples2023✨ Some of you may have noticed...I started making cosplays of book characters and I'm planning to continue with this madness.🙈 Of course Cosplay ball was one of the conventions where I had one of them. I fell in love with book series The School for Good and Evil and that is all thanks to the new movie which was released in Autumn. The books are still more colorful and I really enjoyed the way how characters were growing, making mistakes and learning about themselves. I think Sophie is the one with the biggest character development and also the one I have fallen for. Why are these books always so long to say so little? At least this one didn't seem as problematic to me as the previous two. But Sophie always wavered back and forth between Good and Evil and it just dragged on for so long. He also once again put the prince in between Sophie and Agatha, which he has done in every single book and it's annoying. The Schoolmaster has regenerated to a young, hot man and wants Sophie for his bride, and allows Sophie to teach at his school. Meanwhile, Agatha and Tedros have reunited with old heroes past their prime who are working against evil. Tedros reunites with his mother, Guinevere, and Sir Lancelot who are hidden on an island. In order to save the world, Agatha must convince Sophie to destroy the Schoolmaster's ring. There is also a subplot about Agatha and Sophie's mothers and their history, which was entertaining, but which was told very quickly by a third party, so didn't contribute much to the 650 pages (yes - so long - and for what?). I can't not finish the series but… I hope the rest have been cut down much more. Here is mine🌷 song - "Mastermind" Taylor Swift The last ever after by @somanc ✧✧✧✧✧ 5/5 stars I just want to start by saying that is probably my twentieth time reading this book. This book that just means the world to, this book that I used to reread before going to bed, every single night, hoping it would protect me from nightmares. The last ever after is a novel that taught me so much about love, true, real love, a love that lives forever and ever. This book just holds the purest moment of love where all of our dear characters get to be so vulnerable with each other, while they are questioning their relationships and end story. Now, onto the characters, Tedros finally breaks out of his shell, he still keeps his shield but we do get a huge insight on his past and reasons why he used machotism as a coping mechanism and became so self-aware when it came to choosing his future queen. Agatha is evolving as well and as such a character development throughout this whole book, she questions herself and realizes so much about love, friendship and life. Her and Tedros are constantly changing and their relationship couldn't be more perfect. One thing I do love about that is how they both get to demonstrate how the perfect ever after doesn't exist while still making us dream about meeting a love as pure as theirs. Sophie is also discovering so much about herself, I just love her, she's too iconic for us. Lastly, this might contain some minor spoilers but I 've warned you, I just want to finish by mentioning Merlin, one of my favorite character in this series, he is just so wise and the truly started my love for the old wise character that is so intelligent. Overall I will always love this book that is the passageway to my soul. Love you, bye🕊️

The world-building, the characters, the arcs, the plot twists; I was so hooked! 🤍 I won’t spoil it, but there was ✨one✨ plot twist near the end that I’m not too crazy about—but I can overlook it since I love everything else about this book. I love MG fantasy, I love fairytales, and I loved getting lost in the world of The School for Good and Evil. 🤍 This is such a great premise and the execution definitely delivers. I know there’s more books in the series that expand on the trilogy and I can’t wait to read those, too.

The Last Ever After by Soman Chainani ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫 After exploring possible endings in the first two books in the series, Sophie and Agatha are back and ready to find their last ever after. This book was great fun just like the books that came before it. There is not too much I can say without spoiling previous books but I have fallen in love with this series and all of the characters in it. There were so many points in this third book where I was really unsure where Chainani was going but the book came together beautifully in the end. I know there are more books in the series and maybe I'll get to them eventually but for now I'm really pleased with how the first three wrapped up and I'm happy to take a break from this world for a bit and go on some new audio book adventures.
