A Little Tempting by Kelsie Rae ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 I am still emotionally traumatized from the first book in this series A Little Complicated. It's one of those books that is going to live rent-free in my head forever. This review will have spoilers for other series written by Kelsie Rae. In this book, we follow Dylan Thorne, daughter of Colt and Ashlyn, from Don't Let Me Fall. As was hinted in A Little Complicated, there is something between Dylan and Everett, son of Macklin and Kate from Don't Let Me Break. (There is a reason I made a family tree bookmark for this series 😂). What seemed to be feelings in the form of a strong protectiveness from Everett is actually hiding something deeper from their past. Reeves is a "ladies man" and hockey teammate of Everett. He has an eye on Dylan, and after a masked game of hide and seek that ends in a kiss, he keeps his identity a secret, not thinking himself good enough for her. After being paired up on a photography project, sparks fly between them. For me, Reeves carried this book. I didn't really connect with Dylan. She was written with an extremely awkward personality, and while I know that was a result of a hockey accident when she was young, I just couldn't get past that. That's a personal preference for me, I can understand characters who get flustered or awkward during stressful situations. But when it is a characters entire personality, I don't like it. All on all, I really enjoyed this book and think it was a good continuation to the series! ⭑ BOOK REVIEW ⭑ i absolutely flew through this book; once i started, i simply could not put it down. i had such a fun time reading it. there were so many fun scenes in this book with amazing banter and some very unique character interactions that i loved so much. Colt was such a great male main character. i fell in love with his depth and his tendency to go out of his way, not only for Ash, but for Ash’s friends as well. he is genuinely the definition of actions speak better than words. She has these little videos where she talks about a hypothetical situation which turns out to be a scene from one of her books and dang it if I didn’t make my first TikTok purchase after that. 🤣 Thennn to make matters worse when I got the book it came with this free novella which of course I had to read first because it’s a novella right? 🤣🤣 And spoiler alert I am completely obsessed. 🤩 This is a super quick read (less than 40 pages) but it’s a novella so I’m totally fine with that. But the best part is though she be tiny she is GREAT. I really enjoyed this read. Somehow it had all the best romance aspects and gave me all the little goosebumps and butterflies. I've seen a few reviews for Let Me Love you piss on Ashlyn and Colt's story arc and I wanted to come out and say I found their struggles incredibly well portrayed and realistic. Life and love is not always straightforward and easy, relationships require compromises and the way Ash and Colt worked through their problems made them stronger and I loved it for them. Kate and Mack's story is my favourite and I adored their parts in this book. I loved how Blakely and Theo's engagement was highlighted while in Don't Let Me Down, that covers the same scene from different perspective it was a small mention and a nuisance at that. It's not my favourite book in the series. 📖: Don’t Let Me Break 🫶🏽 by @authorkelsierae Macklin Mfkin Taylor 🥰 is the best. Just like this song Katie girl loves his blue eyes 😍 Kate is the MFC who has epilepsy and she is ok with being alone. She doesn’t think she deserves a HEA, because she will be a burden on someone because of her diagnosis and Mack said “hold my beer” Our boy Mack reads romance books, listens to her and is okay with being “boring” 😍🥰 He takes her out and makes sure that she will be safe because certain things can trigger a seizure. Also THE GYM SCENES 🫢🫡😮💨 This is slower than book 1 and 2 but it didn’t even matter tbh because they were just so amazing together. 📚A Little Complicated by Kelsie Rae ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5 🌶️🌶️.5 / 5 So I’ve been in a really bad reading slump for the past 2 weeks 😔 I’d start a book but had a hard time finishing it. I DNF 2 books since. I reread them giving them a second chance but I just couldn’t. But this book, for some reason it got me out of my slump. (I think I needed a small break from dark romance 😎) Saw it on my TikTok a lot and gave it a shot. Personally it’s predictable. But I just couldn’t put it down. Such an easy read. Finished it in 2 days. Small little tragedy in the end and felt a little rushed but not? I’m not sure how to describe that but IYKYK.
