Be it lunch or dinner. Rules: Fist full of carbohydrates (rice, noodles, rice vermicelli, kuay teow) Palm full of protein (meat, tofu, eggs, beans) Hand full of green vegetables I like to load my plate with 2 palm full of vegetables because they are good fiber, and keeps me full for a longer time. In the previous decades people referred to diet as a way of eating less or starving oneself. The term diet simply means an eating style, what to eat and how much to eat. If you want to gain weight, you will eat more in your diet, and vice versa. A flexible diet is similar to a balanced diet. In life we balance with most good and some bad. This is where the 80:20 rule applies. The 80:20 rule refers to 80% of your foods being nutritious, whole food sources and 20% being more junk/desirable foods. Eating within calorie count helps to maintain or reach your goals but you still need to consume foods containing all the vitamins, minerals, fiber, as well as, your macronutrients: protein, carb and fat. Having 20% of desirable foods and/or drinks help with your sanity, thus it will help you to stay on track and do it for a lifetime. Balance meal is as simple as ABC. TOAST 2 slices Spicy Tuna 1 canned Cucumber 1/2 stick Should taste good with 1 cup of canned corn too. Will try that next time. I like having simple meals like that. I dont get sugar spike and feel drowsy after the meal. I find myself functioning better and no sweet tooth cravings after the meal. Best of all it took me less than 5 mins to prepare.
