Quite pleased to have got through 4 books. I went away with my two best friends to Cyprus for the week - we had quite a few activities booked in, so I thought I might have over done it book wise but happily I feel like I packed the exact right amount. I've shared a few holiday highlights - we had some great experiences, trekking in the troodos mountains (in a hail storm), horse riding, a boat trip fit kayaking. Just so nice to get away and really felt needed, definitely sad to be home! It's looking like another busy week / weekend. During the week it's work, MMA, climbing, and a hospital visit to see grandad and bore him with my holiday pictures. Weekend we're dogsitting overnight, got my friends babies christening, seeing friends in the evening for a pizza night, and meeting another dogsitting client Sunday. So just as full on as normal ๐ I appreciate that's quite a bit of detail but possibly explains why I keep dropping off of here ๐ฌ Anyway I'll post some reviews this week and dream of being back away Hope you've all been doing well, and reading some great books! ๐ What's been your favourite read in April so far?

Happy Thursday!! How are you all today? I still have a raging toothache, despite the antibiotics, so I'm thinking maybe it isn't an infection after all. I've been in pain for two weeks now and it's exhausting. So back to the dentist on Monday for X-rays. In happier news, after posting on my stories about being undecided whether to book a Christmas and New Year cruise for 2025, we booked it last night! Quite a few of you messaged me to say that you went away for either Christmas or your birthday as kids and loved it so we decided to go for it. We're all very excited! F has asked if we can eat out on her birthday and if she can wear a badge so the people in the restaurant knows it's her birthday. Such an attention seeker, just like her Daddy ๐ C has said that he doesn't want to wear a badge but I'm going to get him one just in case he changes his mind. Letโs talk chapters shall we? I saw @numberslady_reads complete this challenge and loved it as I hadnโt seen it before. All book lovers have their views on chapters Iโm sure, so thought Iโd share mine. ๐ Short or Long? I do prefer a shorter chapter. It just isnโt as daunting and makes the pace of reading feel more comfortable. ๐ Names or Numbers? I like a names chapter. I donโt really use the numbers to guide me through the book and how much Iโve read - I use pages for that. So a named chapter makes it more interesting. ๐ Single or Multiple POV? As a romance fan I am a sucker for a multiple POV. Yet, I do always love character driven texts where itโs single. So either or really depending on the book. ๐ Stop in the middle or end? โLet me just finish this chapterโ is something Iโm weโll know for. I can finish mid point if thereโs a natural break in text, but prefer not to. ๐ Do you check the chapter length before you start reading? I think it depends on how the books going and the make up of chapters. I do love the feature on my kindle for this though. ๐ Bookmark, dog ear or dust jacket? The dust jacket always comes off a hardback when Iโm reading for me. Always a bookmark, even if itโs a random something (price tag off clothes, bear yo-yo card etc). ๐ Has the โjust one more chapterโ turned into finishing the book? Of course it has! Hello booksworms! ๐ It's been a minute! I took a bit of an unplanned longish break from posting for a while - I had originally only thought about taking a week, but it quickly turned into almost 3. And now I'm back with a chatty post! ๐ When the year started I had planned to make a post every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and until this month I'd stuck to it, even when I didn't really feel like posting. The last few posts my heart wasn't in it at all, and I found myself asking why I was even bothering with the account. Engagement has been downright rubbish for me these past few months, and the whole thing was beginning to feel like a chore. I think all of this, added on to the fact that I've struggled to find a book I like this month until recently, and that I've felt a bit burnt out and overwhelmed at work lately, meant that my motivation to do anything beyond scrolling Tiktok was completely gone. But I knew I'd want to come back to this account eventually, because I actually really enjoy it as a place to hang out online (and let's be honest, finding nice corners of the Internet is a rare thing!) So, with all of that being said, I'm back to posting. But from now on my page isn't going to be about making sure I post on certain days, or writing a review for every book I read, or sticking to a certain aesthetic. I want the account to be a place to just talk with you all about the books we're reading. Itโs not a proper renovation unless you hit some obstacles! Day two brings an AM of more dramas although they have been small so I really shouldnโt complain too much. โญ HAPPY SPRING โญ Good morning my loves, I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who noticed that I haven't been on social media and has taken the time to message me over the past few weeks. I honestly thank you from the bottom of my heart as all of your kind little messages have meant the world to me and I wish that I could hug every single person who went out of their way to send me a sweet message โก Over the past 6 weeks I have been really struggling with mental and physical issues due to my PTSD which has then lead to me going into a rheumatoid arthritis flare-up. I haven't had the best few weeks, it's honestly been some of the worst weeks that I have ever had mentally, but I am finally feeling so much better and feeling a lot more positive. So I feel ready to start posting on social media again and I'm hoping that I will never feel the way I did over the past few weeks again because it was quite a tough time. Hey, hello ๐โโ๏ธ This is not a review post. In fact, I am in no mood to write reviews these days. So, taking a step back and maybe we will explore other things here. Let's see how it shapes up. This is just a weekend chatty post to see how you are doing? How was your week? How is your weekend looking? Any plans for Valentines? My week started hectic but ended up being very productive. I was able to deliver something that was quite challenging, and it took a lot of brain power. But in the end, it was quite a gratifying experience. Now, I'm looking forward to a chill weekend. I am reading The Intelligent Investor, and I am having a steep learning curve. I need to keep on referencing external sources to understand the concepts, and hence, it is going a little slow. I am somewhere around the middle of this book. A little life sadly is going even more slow. The writing is extremely beautiful, and whenever I pick it, I get extremely awed by Hanya's writing. But somehow, this book is not calling me these days. I am still at Ch. 3, Pt.2. Listening to Conversation with Friends on Audiobook. As I near my 23rd birthday I worry โam I where I should be at my age?โ But then I stepped back & considered all the positive things: ๐๐ฝ I am alive ๐๐ฝ I have a roof over my head ๐๐ฝ I have food on the table & drink ๐๐ฝ I have a loving family & beautiful friends ๐๐ฝ Iโm blessed in many ways Itโs easy to think about what we should have instead of looking at what we do have. I thought at 23 I should have my own place, a successful job, a good income. But none of that matters in the grand scheme of things, I am happy, I have what I need & there is no rush. Things will fall into place when they need to! I feel like sometimes society & social media provides us with a false picture of where we should be, everyone is an individual, every life is different & you just canโt compare one to another. You move at your own pace, you do what makes you happy, you appreciate what you have, especially when so many donโt have the bare minimum. I count myself lucky & blessed for what I have, to many it wonโt be much, but to me itโs more than I could ever wish for ๐. So the moral of the story is, focus on your own story instead of comparing your lives to others, we are all different, we move at different paces & thatโs okay ๐๐ฝ. Things will come when itโs the right time! Just enjoy what you have now & the rest will come. Most importantly, life can be full of blessings ๐ฅ. Happy Wednesday evening ๐. Yesterday was a really exciting day for me, I got my dream car, Iโve been waiting years for this moment & it doesnโt feel real!! I am over the moon. Iโve had years of wondering if it would ever happen. One time we had a builder in & he said โyou donโt want a BMW, what you want is a Renault Cleoโ - I was like excuse me?! I had to laugh. I know my Beamer isnโt a brand new car, sheโs not got all the fancy computer & beeping when you reverse, I know sheโs โonlyโ a 2007 model, but sheโs my dream car, sheโs the year I wanted to buy, sheโs a diesel, sheโs an auto, sheโs had her engine rebuilt, sheโs bleddy beautiful & super fast ๐จ not that I wish to go fast in particular but itโs nice to know that if I wanted to take her on a track one day sheโd be a beast! Plus the most exciting thing is the fact that sheโs got *2* cup holders & wait for it, an *aux* woooo. The only thing thatโs a little bit annoying is the owner before the man I brought it from threw away the manual so I have no idea what all the buttons do, but fear not, the Internet is my fren ๐๐ผ๐๐ฝ. Also sheโs had a brand new MOT & service, just when you think it canโt get better hey! Also the boot is massive, it could fit a family of 5 in there, if you wanted to put your family in the boot ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ I feel like itโs nice to have the option ๐. Anyhoo, Iโm the happiest gal on the planet, I canโt wait to take her for a drive. Weโre going to take her to Lands End for a spin when we sort out everything ๐๐ผ Iโve been wanting to go to Lands End for ages. Do you have that Friday feeling or are you like me and working all weekend? ๐ด I am back again with all the books I am currently reading and my current opinions on them so far! Firstly we have The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien. As someone who has NEVER read any of his work I thought it was about time I got round to it! I was told (by the gorgeous @maireadreads and @microbookworms ) to start with The Hobbit for introduction to the world and I am so glad I listened! It is a sweet childrenโs story and I am absolutely adoring the world. Bilbo is just ๐ฅบ๐ Secondly is The Guest List by Lucy Foley which is the @talkwordytous book club pick for August. I am LOVING this book, like, it is so so addictive and difficult to put down. If it wasnโt for the book club I would have easily read this in a couple (maybe even one) sitting! Fast paced, addictive and constantly has you guessing - all things you want from a thriller! I am loving delving into this new genre and love our book club even more. It is wonderful and is full of incredible people ๐ Last but by no means least we have It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover which is a buddy read with the gorgeous @bookish.tam @livreads_ @basicbooktrovert and @emilyschapters and oh boy, this is one heck of a book. I am over halfway and I think I have felt just about every emotion there is! I am excited and nervous to continue this! @thestory.edit your taste is impeccable ๐ฅฐ. It is so raw and so character driven that you canโt help but feel like youโre inside the story. I am loving it! Well overdue read for me of a firm booksta fav! As always, I love reading more than one book as itโs nice to have variety and dip in and out of new stories and worlds when I feel like it! I've ordered a few things from @nastygal lately and I'm loving the items, especially how extra these sleeves are, but the sizing has got me a bit bamboozled. This dress is a 6 but could do with being a bit smaller to be honest. So I've reordered in a 4 ๐ฌ. I'm definitely not a 4 though, but I ordered a top and trousers recently too and they were huge on me, so again, I've reordered in a 4. So we'll see... This was me this afternoon enjoying an ice cold elderflower gin and lemonade with my current read - The Dressmakerโs Gift by Fiona Valpy. A completely different book to anything Iโm used to but Iโm really enjoying it! I just thought I would drop a few words of encouragement (as much for my benefit as anyone elseโs). You can overcome, achieve and get through anything. You are strong, amazing, incredible and just wonderful. ๐ Current Read ๐ Hello and Happy Thursday! Itโs almost Friday, we almost made it! Iโm off for the next 7 days and I am THRILLED! I feel like I have needed this week off in so so long. Obviously Iโm disheartened and sad as my boyfriend should have been travelling here today and now he isnโt. Moo ๐ฎ I am in love with these trousers from @sheincurve theyre so cute! I know itโs not the best to shop from stores such as SHEIN but for me itโs so hard to find a balance between affordability and also sustainability they donโt quite correlate. Anyway, how are you today? What are you up to? Iโm off to work in a minute which Iโm kinda looking forward to. These trousers came on their own even tho Iโve ordered more bits so Iโm hoping the rest comes in the next few days. I try and buy items that are multipurpose and will work all year round. And also can be dressed up or dressed down. I think these trousers would work with a nice top and blazer or a crop top and casual jacket. I love having quite a unique and diverse wardrobe with multiple styles and shapes in as it makes my style so much more fun. If you havenโt seen on my stories already. I thought I would switch up this weeks post by doing it in the morning as I eat my breakfast. Which, btw is AMAZING. Pancakes and a proper coffee ๐คค โก How are you feeling this morning? I have woken up feeling a little better. I feel a little overwhelmed but I hope that eases as the day goes on. Iโm trying to remind myself that going at my own pace is okay. My cr is A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire and I am LOVING IT. Before this I think I hadnโt gotten myself into a bit of a reading slump and I have only just realised since diving back into these books. They are like a comfort blanket for me, the world, the characters and the connection just amazes me. I love it. โก What are you doing today? I am hoping to have a pretty chilled day. I notice what is triggering to me and I am trying my best to stay away or I get overwhelmed. And being overwhelmed makes me feel down. Doesn't it feel like a different lifetime? โจ 'Pink Paradise' โจ Thank you all so much for your interaction with last night's post! This painting was probably the most popular which I find quite amusing because it's probably the one lower down on my list - I'm always one to be drawn to the bold and bright colours! It just goes to show how different everyone's tastes are and that I shouldn't disregard any work as it more than likely suits someone! Today I've been working hard to get my paintings sorted online across a few platforms. Making pottery is hard sometimes. From this firing 6 pieces broke before bisque and other 2 after the glaze firing. Anyway I am happy to see my improvement, even with broken pieces. This is a nerikomi piece and I learn a lot making it, from start to finish. So that's what matters, experimenting and learning on the way. Even if I end up with just 10 usable pieces ๐ Happy making!

๐บ๐ฒLittle by little I improve my mugs technique and learn more. When I started doing ceramics, my pinch pots were really rough and they always turned into bowls or plates. After a while, they were taller, but really far for good enough. Now I am at a place where they are not perfect at all, but I like them more. They are still a little heavy but each one I make is a little lighter. And also my fingers marks are always there, but oh well, what can I do ๐ ๐ช๐ฆLa tรฉcnica de mis tazas va progresando poco a poco. Cuando empezรฉ a hacer cerรกmica, la tรฉcnica de pellizco me costaba mucho y todas las piezas se acababan conviertiendo en boles o platos. Despuรฉs de un tiempo, conseguรญa mantener la pared un poco mรกs alta pero estaban lejos de ser suficiente. Ahora estoy en un punto, donde les queda para ser perfectas, pero me gustan mucho mรกs. Siguen siendo un poco pesadas, pero cada una que hago tiene las paredes un poco mรกs finas. Las marcas de mis dedos siguen estando ahรญ pero bueno, que le voy a hacer ๐
โข READING SLUMP + LIFE UPDATE โข . #QoTD : How often are you in a reading slump? ๐ค . . I've been in a reading slump for almost 50 days now. It is definitely frustrating at times but frankly speaking, I just don't have the energy or focus to read after work and with life going on in full swing. When you're a part of the bookstagram community, you pressurize yourself to constantly read or constantly post about books causing unnecessary stress. Reading should be enjoyable not stressful. So if you're in a slump, that's completely okay. There's nothing wrong with it. Give yourself time, do things which are relaxing instead. โค๏ธ . . What have I been doing these days then, you ask(well nobody's asking but still)? โจ . โจ Working my ass off because the product I'm working on is going live in the next quarter. ๐ . โจI finally got to go out last weekend for a friend's marriage to this gorgeous palacial resort. Probably my first outing this year. #Throwbackpic when we went to @nasiandmee last year and I had sushi for the first time ever. Sushi had always fascinated me and it had been on my bucket list for a very long time. I ordered the New York salmon sushi which had salmon, cucumber, avocado mixed together with Japanese mayo. I had initially thought that my mom and dad would also taste it but they weren't in a mood to experiment so I ate all 4๐ I was so excited that when the sushi arrived I immediately popped one in my mouth and didn't even notice the chopsticks and the sauce which I'm assuming was soy sauce near the sushi so I literally ate almost 3 of it without dipping it the sauce so it kinda did feel a bit bland and it is like a acquired taste thingy but when I had the last piece with the sauce it was much better.
