When it comes to training my shoulders I focus on 2 things: 1. Form & Technique: learn to leave the ego at the door. The amount of weight you lift is insignificant and irrelevant if you’re doing the damn thing wrong and then once you hurt yourself, your gains will cease from there. 2. Mind Muscle Connection: whenever I begin a lift with my free hand unless I’m using both, I’ll touch the muscle where I want to feel it and make sure that it is engaged throughout the movement. If I’m using both, then I think about where I want to feel it and focus on that area solely.
