Und was soll ich sagen..... ich habe ihn noch mehr geliebt als den ersten Teil. Diesmal wird aus der Sicht von Signa und Blythe die Geschichte erzählt. Dadurch bekommt man noch einen tieferen Einblick in die Story. Dazu kommt, dass nicht nur der Tod personifiziert wird, sondern auch das Schicksal. Die Plot Twist sind wieder super. Der Schreibstil passt ebenfalls wieder so gut zur Story und die Zeit in der das ganze spielt. Bis zum Ende bin ich wieder nicht darauf gekommen, wer der Mörder ist. Und zu krönenden Abschluss gibt es wieder einen Cliffhanger, der mich gespannt auf Teil drei warten lässt. Do you have a favorite short story? I feel like sometimes short stories get a bad rep because they aren’t packed full of pages like a typical novel is. There’s so much to love about short stories though! Short story authors shine in their ability to pack so much into such a limited space. It’s actually quite impressive when you get into the nitty-gritty aspects of short story writing and realize just how planned and important every single word is. Authors aren’t putting down words willy-nilly but are actively choosing each word with planned precision to further their plot and characters. When you only have a few pages to get a story across you have to be meticulously with each and every word! On another, slightly related, note the short story genre is almost uniquely an American genre of literature. While traces of the short story can be found in early American literature, the genre itself remained in a flux state until it was largely defined by our boys Edgar Allan Poe and Nathaniel Hawthorne. Other American GOATs of the genre are Shirley Jackson (my queen), Ernest Hemingway, Zora Neale Hurston, Jhumpa Lahiri, O. Henry, Flannery O’Connor, James Baldwin, and the list goes on and on. Short stories are embedded in the American literary tradition and deserve a bit more loving in the main stream! Have you read any short stories recently? book 5 to me, this book and its predecesor are like spin offs from feyre’s main experiences in the first 3 novels. like “sam and cat” is to “icarly,” but where you rly just wanna see more of carly than they let you. the first 100 pages were hard to get through, for me. here, nesta treats her loved ones (and herself) horribly, justifying it because of her depression and trauma. i understand the message of this, but i rly just have a hard time standing behind someone mistreating others bc they themselves are suffering. one thing that rly was touching though was how relentless her loved ones were in their efforts to help nesta… how they never gave up or shied away from her. cassian told nesta at one point to throw everything she had at him, and he’d take it. i feel that describes this book pretty well. i’m so bummed to see this series end, esp w some loose ends not fully tied up for some of the characters!😫 alas. #acourtofsilverflames #sarahjmaas #acotarseries #nestaarcheron #bookrecommendations #bookinstagram #mylittlelibrary

Ravenhall Academy - Erwachte Magie Julia Kuhn Heute komme ich zu dem zweiten Teil der Ravenhall Academy. Hier auch zuerst das Positive. Die Gestaltung des Buches und das Cover haben mir wieder richtig gut gefallen. Die kleine Karte vorne im Buch und die Hexensprüche am Ende sind super schön illustriert. Genau wie bei Buch eins fand ich auch die Idee der Story super. Der Anfang des Buches hat mir auch etwas besser gefallen, als der erste Teil. Doch dann ging es leider nach dem ersten Drittel wieder steil bergab. Ich fühle einfach die Verbindung zwischen Lilly und Jason gar nicht. Die Plot Twist waren für mich leider auch keine Überraschung. Im Gesamtpaket haben mir beide Bücher leider nicht gefallen. Ravenhall Academy ~ Verborgene Magie Julia Kuhn Zuerst zu den Sachen die mir gut gefallen haben. Ich liebe die Aufmachung, das Cover, die Aufschläge und die tolle Gestaltung der Kapitelanfänge. Genau so wie die Idee zur Story. Doch da hört es leider auf. Irgendwie habe ich das ganze Buch lang darauf gewartet, dass es los geht oder die Handlung an fahrt aufnimmt. Leider kam das bis zum Ende nicht. Dazu kommt noch das mir etwas die Tiefe der Erzählung und die Verbindung zu den Hauptcharakteren gefehlt hat. Und Jason hat mich echt etwas genervt (😅). Sehr schade, denn ich hatte mich sehr auf das Buch gefreut.... Ich gebe allerdings die Hoffnung noch nicht auf und werde auf jeden fall den zweiten Teil auch noch lesen. Die Gründe dafür sind leicht offene Ende (bin ja schon etwas neugierig) und die Tatsache das Band zwei schon im Regal liegt. (you’re welcome.) the start of this book kindof reminded me of the hunger games—in that you’ve got a strong female lead who goes into the woods w a bow and arrow, despite the risks, so that she can feed her starving family.
