Thanks so much to @angryrobotbooks for sending me the ARC copy of The Last Shield by Cameron Johnston, @cameronjohnstonwriter . My review will follow once read. Blurb: A gender-flipped Die Hard set in a mysterious castle, Cameron Johnston's The Last Shield is an engaging fantasy read, perfect for fans of John Gwynne and Mark Lawrence. The ancient forest realm of Sunweald is bordered on two sides by far mightier nations – a precarious situation. At its centre, the Sunweald Palace is home to the Lord Regent and the heir to the throne, together with numerous precious and powerful artefacts. The Palace is protected by the realm's elite Shields, dedicated to guarding the royal line against all foes. A group of vicious brigands called the Wildwood Reivers have been stealing arcane artefacts and smuggling them across the borders, out of Sunweald. And the objects they most desire are stored in the mystical Wyrm Vault, hidden away deep in the bones of the earth, within the walls of the Palace itself. As political and religious tensions mount, Sunweald's druids prepare to enact rituals for the Summer Solstice – but the Wildwood Reivers and their treacherous allies have other plans. It falls to Briar, the commander of the Shields, to defend the ancient corridors and secret tunnels of the Palace. The odds may be against her, but she'll see every enemy head adorning a spike or she'll die trying… About the author: Cameron Johnston is a Scottish writer of fantasy and lives in the city of Glasgow in Scotland. He is a member of the Glasgow Science Fiction Writers' Circle, loves archaeology and mythology, enjoys exploring ancient sites and camping out under the stars. #fatguyreading #bookstagammers #bookstagramuk #bookstagrammer #bookstagram #bookstagrammersunite #bookstagramit #bookreader #booksbooksbooks #readingbooks #readbooks #readwhatyouwant #readstagrammer #readingforfun #readerfriends #readingstagram #readingaddict #bookreviews #bookreviewersofinstagram #bookreviewers #bookreviewer #bookreviewing #angryrobotbooks

Thanks to @lovebookstours and @rmschultzauthor . Readalong: 22nd April - 22nd May. Blurb: Kingdoms burn. Heroes soar. At the decimated outpost of Nevergrace, Cyran Orendain and his companions stand watch. They search for the Dragon Queen’s remains while awaiting the full onslaught of Murgare’s retaliation. But some of their own turn against them, and a village is ravaged by whatever lurks in the woods. With the young lady of the Never by her side, Cyran’s sister Jaslin arrives at the king’s city of Galvenstone to answer a summons. She will find the answers to the queen’s murder and the darkness lurking beneath the streets, no matter what—or who—stands in her way. Meanwhile, Pravon the dragon thief follows the unpredictable dragon assassin across the lands of Cimeren, hunting down emissaries who seek to bring peace to the kingdoms. For only one path can stop the coming war, and they will ensure this path is never found. Only those at Nevergrace sense the coming dangers—that which stalks the far side of the Lake on Fire and that which prowls within the forest. The growing shadows will consume all of the kingdoms and cover the lands in blood and dragon fire. ANSWER: It would have to be a book, maybe a copy of The Lord of the Rings. Or, eventhough I don't read e-books, a Kindle as I could fill it with lots of books, and would have to get used to reading e-books. #fatguyreading #bookstagammers #bookstagramuk #bookstagrammer #bookstagram #bookstagrammersunite #bookstagramit #bookreader #booksbooksbooks #readingbooks #readbooks #readwhatyouwant #readstagrammer #readingforfun #readerfriends #readingstagram #readingaddict #bookreviews #bookreviewersofinstagram #bookreviewers #bookreviewer #bookreviewing #lovebookstours #Ad #LBTCrew #Bookstagram #EpicFantasy

5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 BOOK REVIEW Thanks so much to @angryrobotbooks for sending me the copy of The Redemption of Morgan Bright by @chrispanatier . REVIEW: The Redemption Of Morgan Bright by Chris Panatier is an absolutely beautifully written psychological horror mystery set in the unsettling, dark, murky world of Hollyhock Asylum. In this novel, the author showcases his masterful skills in storytelling as we , the reader, are taken deep into the depths of this truly unnerving world. The prose on display here is really top notch and just gorgeous and as you turn each page, the gloomy, deep atmospheric nightmare unfolds in front of your very eyes. I found the plot to be incredibly thought-provoking, well paced and haunting. Character development and depth is great and complex and I read this novel in just two sittings, staying up far too late one night to finish this impressive work. It's a story that lingers in your mind and will stay with you long after you've turned the last page. If you appreciate dark, atmospheric, unsettling novels, this is an absolute must buy. A huge 5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 's from me. #fatguyreading #bookstagammers #bookstagramuk #bookstagrammer #bookstagram #bookstagrammersunite #bookstagramit #bookreader #booksbooksbooks #readingbooks #readbooks #readwhatyouwant #readstagrammer #readingforfun #readerfriends #readingstagram #readingaddict #bookreviews #bookreviewersofinstagram #bookreviewers #bookreviewer #bookreviewing #angryrobotbooks #chrispanatier #theredemptionofmorganbright #Ad #AD

𝑇𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑚𝑒 𝑎 𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑦... Hello and happy Friday! Today I'm having a go at a great challenge I've seen done by Audrey @hook.me.a.book ♡ The idea is to write a story using book titles... Easy peasy, right? Here is my attempt, that went very dark very quickly... but with the majority of books on my shelf being thrillers I really couldn't expect anything else! (book titles are in caps). ONCE UPON A BROKEN HEART, THE SADDEST PRINCESS laid quietly UNDER THE WHISPERING DOOR feeling HOPELESS and SLEEPLESS. Thinking about HIM, of ALL THE BEAUTIFUL LIES he kept telling PEOPLE LIKE HER, the HEARTLESS man needed to be taught a lesson. He certainly was THE KIND WORTH KILLING, so she will have no regrets. Just lure him in THE BLACK HOUSE, LOCK EVERY DOOR, play your TWISTED games, and STOP AT NOTHING. She may even get away with it. After all, SOMETIMES PEOPLE DIE. And what then? She would just KEEP HER SECRET and keep living, ONE ORDINARY DAY AT A TIME. ★★★

Night Play, book 7 of the Dark-Hunters/Were-Hunters series, by Sherrilyn Kenyon (McQueen) @mysherrilyn. This is a reread of this series for me. Long overdue, at that! 😂 I am reading this series in the order from Sherrilyn’s website/Goodreads. Blurb: Bride McTierney has had it with men. They're cheap, self-centered, and never love her for who she is. But though she prides herself on being independent, deep down she still yearns for a knight in shining armor. She just never expected her knight in shining armor to have a shiny coat of fur...Deadly and tortured, Vane Kattalakists isn't what he seems. Most women lament that their boyfriends are dogs. In Bride's case, hers is a wolf. A Were-Hunter wolf. Wanted dead by his enemies, Vane isn't looking for a mate. But the Fates have marked Bride as his. Now he has three weeks to either convince Bride that the supernatural is real or he will spend the rest of his life neutered--something no self-respecting wolf can accept...But how does a wolf convince a human to trust him with her life when his enemies are out to end his? In the world of the Were-Hunters, it really is dog-eat-dog. And only one alpha male can win. #bookreview #books #booklover #bookish #kindleunlimitedromance #kindleromance #bookstagram #smutbooks #spicybooks #book #bookstagrammer #booktok #bookstagramfeature #bookstagrammers #bookstagramit #bookishpeople #bookstagramcommunity #spicyromance #instabookstagram #booksbooksbooks #bookstagrams

Are you a short story collections fan? I didn’t give much thought to short story collections until recently - now I find myself gravitating towards them more and more. Especially as my attention became a bit shorter and when I was in the mood to pick something up and put it down. This is why I jumped at the chance to join @thewritereads tour for Takeout Sushi by Christopher Green. Takeout Sushi is a collection of 17 illustrated short stories set mostly in contemporary Japan that explore feelings of belonging, displacement, and the strangeness of everyday human interaction. Takeout Sushi is was a mix of stories that I really liked, coupled with a few that weren’t for me. But it is a great example of the variety that I love in short story collections. As a reader who is particularly invested in endings - my biggest struggles were down to personal preference. There were times that I just wanted a bit more from the story itself. And maybe a bit more consistency to the overarching theme. Overall I enjoyed this collection and am still thinking about some of the stories! Takeout Sushi is out now and I encourage everyone to check it out. Thank you to TheWriteReads and @neemtreepress for my gifted copy!

Kiss of the Night, book 6 of the Dark-Hunters series, by Sherrilyn Kenyon (McQueen) @mysherrilyn. This is a reread of this series for me. Long overdue, at that! 😂 I am reading this series in the order from Sherrilyn’s website/Goodreads. Blurb: Wulf is an ancient Viking warrior with a useful but extremely aggravating power-amnesia. No one who meets him in person can remember him 5 minutes later. It makes it easy to have one-night stands, but hard to have a meaningful relationship, and without true love he can never regain his soul. When he finally meets Cassandra, the one woman who can remember him, she turns out to be the princess of the cursed race he's sworn to hunt-and forbidden to him. The two of them must face ancient curses, prophecies, and the direct meddling of the Greek gods to find true happiness at last. #bookreview #books #booklover #bookish #kindleunlimitedromance #kindleromance #bookstagram #smutbooks #spicybooks #book #bookstagrammer #booktok #bookstagramfeature #bookstagrammers #bookstagramit #bookishpeople #bookstagramcommunity #spicyromance #instabookstagram #booksbooksbooks #bookstagrams

(Ignore the fact that I am reading “The Enchanted April” in May. 🥲 I started it on April 28th and life got super busy but, she will not be neglected any longer) TBRs are a good way to keep yourself accountable while reading. Elements of Art by Susie Hodge In art education, students are traditionally taught about 7 elements of art and 3 principles of art. This book seeks to look beyond those standards and challenges readers to explore additional considerations (although there is a little overlap with the traditional elements/principles). The 10 elements focused on in this book include Scale, Color, Light, Movement, Medium, Technique, Content, Location, Time, and The Artist. The book is split into two sections. Part 1 goes through the 10 selected characteristics of art. Part 2 presents the reader with several examples of art and highlights specific elements relevant to those pieces. A few artworks that stood out for me were The Monk by the Sea by Caspar David Friedrich, The Death of Cleopatra by Edmonia Lewis, The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh, Composition with Figures by Lyubov Popova, From the Top of the Great Pyramid by Lee Miller, and Cold Dark Matter: An Exploded View by Cornelia Parker. I found this book enjoyable and informative. I appreciated the images of various artworks. Having that visual aid helped me understand the characteristics being described. I personally don’t have much formal art training (though I do enjoy several creative pursuits at an amateur/hobby level). Even without much background knowledge in art, I still thought the book was easy to understand and fun to read. I think traditionally-educated artists might also enjoy this because it talks about art characteristics that aren’t always considered. Thank you to @NetGalley and Frances Lincoln Publishing for an Advanced Reader Copy eBook. ⠀ #Bookstagram #Bookstagrammer #BookstagramIt #ReadersGonnaRead #NoseInABook #BookNerd #BookAddict #Bookworm #Bookwyrm #BookDragon #NetGalley #AdvancedReadersCopy

🍁 2 May 2024 🍁. Friends. Will You be rereading Ember In The Ashes before the release of Heir?😍 . . . Ember Quartet is one of my favorite YA fantasy series. I found my initial review from Goodreads: A very cruel and harsh world inspired by Ancient Rome, combining elements from arabic/Islamic mythology. The oppression of the Scholars and the brutality of the Marshals, was written so well, the book explores themes of freedom and justice. It is no stranger to tragedy and devestation. The beautiful magical elements and world building was interwoven not limited to ghosts, jinn, so perfectly with the war/military ascpects. The Stakes kept getting higher in each book and there is so much tension, drama, bloodshed and emotipns The villianous characters all have depth and are interesting. I grew immensely attached to Elias, Helen and Laia. . . . Recommend a book or series that had involved main themes of Oppression and/or Revolution? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #bookaholic #booklove #read #bibliophilie #instaread #booksofinstagram #bookstagramit #booksaremagic #readabook #bookalicious #timetoread #bookpost #bookpics #bookcollection #bookmoments #alwaysreading #readreadread #readingtime #lovetoread #bookcollection #Bookdragon #bookmomentsa #sabaatahir #emberintheashes #emberquartet

This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune Narrator: A.J. Bridel Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Steam: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Pub date: 5/7 Thank you so much to @netgalley and @berkleyromance for my advanced copy and @prhaudio for my complimentary audiobook #prhainfluencer Lucy shows up on Prince Edward Island a few hours ahead of her best friend for their girls trip. When she meets a gorgeous local named Felix at an oyster bar, she can’t believe her luck. She needs to let loose, and winds up spending a steamy night with him. Imagine her shock when she discovers that her handsome stranger is actually her best friend’s younger brother who’s explicitly off limits. This book was such a joy to read! 🥰 Fortune’s writing paints vivid scenes of sandy beaches and crashing waves that transported me straight to the island. The book has a romantic feel, with the love between Lucy and Felix, the cut flower farm dreams, and the Anne of Green Gables references. Each page seems infused with warmth and charm, and Fortune’s characters leap off the page with their vulnerability and authenticity. The overarching theme of the story is Lucy’s journey of self-discovery, told in past and present tense over a five-year period during her time on and off the island. She’s torn between her love for her best friend and the love she has for Felix while also trying to find her place in the world. This story truly reads like a love letter to female friendships and also to PEI. I went back and forth between my ecopy and audiobook copy, and A.J. Bridel does an incredible job bringing all the characters to life. I felt truly immersed in the story thanks to her brilliant narration 🙌🏻 This is going to be the book of the summer, and whether you’re a romance fan or simply need an uplifting read, this is the book for you! Read if you like: 🏖️second chance 🏖️right guy wrong time 🏖️best friend’s brother 🏖️friends to lovers 🏖️single POV 🏖️open door spice 💭If you had the occupation of the MC in your current read, what would you be doing?

✨️Book/Audiobook Review✨️ 📕🎧: When Among Crows ✍️: @veronicaroth 📅: May 14, 2024 🗣: Helen Laser, James Fouhey, Tim Campbell 🕑: 4H 37M Loved! Ah, I loved this so much. This is the modern fantasy with a darkly gothic atmosphere that I always crave but rarely find! Anything can happen when so much is hidden where us normal folk can’t look or see! Even though this is relatively short at just 176 pages or 4.5 hours audio, I still felt like I got a full lush experience. That’s not to say I wouldn’t like more, because, yes, please! I loved the characters and the world they lived in! Built loosely on the Baba Yaga folklore, this focuses on one man’s epic quest to find Baba Jaga for his own, very personal, reasons and the exceptional characters he meets on the way. What I really loved about this is that it’s not just a warrior’s story but it’s about found family, the struggle against love, loyalty and family, and about following one’s heart against everything they’ve known to be true in their lives. Cryptic, I know, but this is a definite must read and I’ve been recommending to everyone. 🎧: What a joy to listen to! All the narrators complimented their roles and brought this story to life! Bravo! 👏 Thank you so much @TorBooks and @MacMillan.Audio for these gifted copies! 🗯: What book have you been recommending to everyone lately? Drop your recs 👇 Stay bookish, my friends 🖤

BOOK REVIEW Thanks so much to @randomthingstours for sending me the copy of What Everyone Knows About Britain* (*Except the British) by Michael Peel. Published on 25 April 2024 by Monoray / Octopus Books. Blurb: In WHAT EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT BRITAIN, Michael Peel digs into the national consciousness with the perspective of distance to pull apart the ways in which we British have become unmoored from crucial truths about ourselves. He shows us that from many perspectives we are no different from other countries whose own national delusions have seen them succumb to abuses of power, increased poverty and divisive conflict. The battle over Britain's narrative is the struggle for its future and its place in the world. So, how do we escape the trick mirror - and see ourselves as we really are? REVIEW: In  What everyone knows about Britain, except the British, Michael Peel explores Britain but from more of an outside perspective. He delves into the deepest reaches of the British psyche in an attempt to discover why, as British people, we tend to shy away from the real truths about ourselves and Britain's past. For me, it's certainly true that us British people tend to avoid these types of discussions. It can be difficult to face up to some of Britain's dark past. It seems there are many people who are just blind to the corruption and greed that has lead to so much injustice poverty here in Britain. So in this book, we read about how we could change, move forward and see our true selves. I found this to be an informative read with facts to back up what the author discusses. It's easy to read by most people I think and I read this in two sittings 4 stars from me. #fatguyreading #bookstagammers #bookstagramuk #bookstagrammer #bookstagram #bookstagrammersunite #bookstagramit #bookreader #booksbooksbooks #readingbooks #readbooks #readwhatyouwant #readstagrammer #readingforfun #readerfriends #readingstagram #readingaddict #bookreviews #bookreviewersofinstagram #bookreviewers #bookreviewer #bookreviewing #randomthingstours

BOOK REVIEW Thanks so much to @randomthingstours for sending me the ARC copy of The Night In Question by Susan Fletcher, @sfletcherauthor . Published on 18 April 2024 by Bantam / Transworld @bantambooksuk , @transworldbooks . Blurb: Florence Butterfield has lived an extraordinary life full of travel, passion and adventure. But, at eighty-seven, she suspects there are no more surprises to come her way. Then, one midsummer's night, something terrible happens - so strange and unexpected that Florrie is suspicious. Was this really an accident, or is she living alongside a would-be murderer? The only clue is a magenta envelope, discarded earlier that day. And Florrie - cheerfully independent but often overlooked - is the only person determined to uncover the truth. As she does, Florrie finds herself looking back on her own life . . . and a long-buried secret, traced in faded scars across her knuckles, becomes ever harder to ignore. REVIEW: The Night in Question is the story of 87 year old Florence who lives in a care home and finds comfort in the company of the care home 's Manager, Renata. Renata then dies, it's fuled as suicide, but Florence is not convinced and determines to find the truth. I found this read to be engrossing and interesting In that the main character is an octogenarian, which you don't see too often, and that it's set in a care home, which again, you don't see often. There are moments of sadness, but lots of happiness too and I found Florence to be a great lead character. It's an enchanting read about second chances in life and I'm sure it'll warm your heart. The plot flowed well, the characters had decent depth and I read this in two sittings. 4 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 's from me. #fatguyreading #bookstagammers #bookstagramuk #bookstagrammer #bookstagram #bookstagrammersunite #bookstagramit #bookreader #booksbooksbooks #readingbooks #readbooks #readwhatyouwant #readstagrammer #readingforfun #readerfriends #readingstagram #readingaddict #bookreviews #bookreviewersofinstagram #bookreviewers #bookreviewer #bookreviewing #randomthingstours #susanfletcher #thenightinquestion

I had a fantastic reading month in April! (I also might be a bit behind in school-related work 🫣) 1️⃣5️⃣ total books across a bunch of different genres. Standouts: 💜 Ferris. Kate DiCamillo. Enough said. 👑 Queen of Shadows. Okay, I’m all the way in for Throne of Glass. CanNOT wait for vacay to be able to tandem read Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn. 🪦A Grave Robbery is the NINTH Victoria Speedwell book and I could not love her and Stoker more. My favorite so far! 🤐The Woman they Could Not Silence is FANTASTIC narrative nonfiction. This book will make you so angry and also you’ll be fascinated all the way through. 🐙Secrets of the Octopus only cemented my love for these weird little creatures even more. Sy Montgomery has my heart. 🤯 Wellness was a 600 page book about a marriage in trouble, a bunch of random rabbit holes about topics like extreme wellness trends, conspiracy theories, FB algorithms, and placebo effects. It left me with a little bit of an unsettled feeling like is ANYTHING real?! But it’s also about how our childhood experiences shape our understandings of the world and ourselves and how we bring those selves to a marriage and how that can be hard sometimes. I think this one will stick with me for a long time. 😍Funny Story and Rom Commers were the perfect bits of romance I needed this month. Annnnd, truly, I really liked or loved everything I read this month! What was your April favorite?

Dance With The Devil, book 5 of the Dark-Hunters series, by Sherrilyn Kenyon (McQueen) @mysherrilyn. This is a reread of this series for me. Long overdue, at that! 😂 I am reading this series in the order from Sherrilyn’s website/Goodreads. Blurb: Zarek's Point of View:Dark-Hunter: A soulless guardian who stands between mankind and those who would see mankind destroyed. Yeah, right. The only part of that Code of Honor I got was eternity and solitude. Insanity: A condition many say I suffer from after being alone for so long. But I don't suffer from my insanity-I enjoy every minute of it. Trust: I can't trust anyone...not even myself. The only thing I trust in is my ability to do the wrong thing in any situation and to hurt anyone who gets in my way.Truth: I endured a lifetime as a Roman slave, and 900 years as an exiled Dark-Hunter. Now I'm tired of enduring. I want the truth about what happened the night I was exiled-I have nothing to lose and everything to gain.Astrid (Greek, meaning star): An exceptional woman who can see straight to the truth. Brave and strong, she is a point of light in the darkness. She touches me and I tremble. She smiles and my cold heart shatters.Zarek: They say even the most damned man can be forgiven. I never believed that until the night Astrid opened her door to me and made this feral beast want to be human again. Made me want to love and be loved. But how can an ex-slave whose soul is owned by a Greek goddess ever dream of touching, let alone holding, a fiery star? #bookreview #books #booklover #bookish #kindleunlimitedromance #kindleromance #bookstagram #smutbooks #spicybooks #book #bookstagrammer #booktok #bookstagramfeature #bookstagrammers #bookstagramit #bookishpeople #bookstagramcommunity #spicyromance #instabookstagram #booksbooksbooks #bookstagrams

Having never read this author before I wasn’t sure what to expect. Burns delivers a complex study of a dysfunctional family dynamic, and a very character driven story. I was entranced in this story for some reason, wanting to know what happened to each and every character. Why they acted the way they did, and how each person became that way. Set in 1999 in the small town of Mercury, Pennsylvania, the story revolves around the Joseph family (dad, mom & three sons) who own and operate their own roofing business. As the story progresses, we learn of the many secrets the Joseph family is hiding. We see how Marley, the new girl in town, has made herself a part of the Joseph family as well, even though the matriarch may have never really liked her. Mercury is about wanting to have your own place in the world while at the same time being loyal and most importantly loved by your family. Also there’s a mystery built into the story that takes a surprising twist. 4/5 ⭐️ #mercury #amyjoburns #libraryreads #bookstagram #booklover #igreads #bookworm #bookreview #bookish #instabooks #bookrecommendations #winedownreads #bookclub #readersofinstagram #bookstagramit #readaholic #bookcommunity #TBRlist #readmore #booksholics

🏳️‍🌈💗Posing with one of my favourite books on the PLANET!! In Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, Saenz avoids stereotypes and accurately captures the second generation Latino experience. An excellent focus on coming of age issues that hit home, generational trauma, coming into one’s own, figuring out love and what it means to be happy. Throughout the entire story we watch as Ari’s anxiety around his purpose is soothed once Dante makes his mark in Ari’s life. I could reread this book 100 times over and still cry during the whole thing. This book humanizes and validates EVERY CHARACTER’S EXPERIENCE!! I’m so happy this love story exists. Thank you so much Benjamin Alire Sáenz. #bookstagram #litfic #scifi #beckychambersbooks #mitchalbombooks #bookshelves #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #booksofinstagram #bookish #bookphotography #bibliophile #bookaesthetic #bookworld #bookstagramit #readreadread #readingislife #allthebooks #featuremybooks #bookster #literaturelover #booktography #bibliofeature #bookpic #cheerstobooks #tinybookmoments

Thanks so much to @kaleidoscopictours for sending me the copy of The Girl Who Couldn't Lie by @radhikasanghani . My review will follow on 14th May, as scheduled. Blurb: A fresh, funny story about white lies, brutal honesty and a bangle with special powers, from award-winning journalist and author Radhika Sanghani. Priya Shah lies. A lot. She pretends everything in her life is perfect, so she doesn't disappoint anyone. But when she puts on a bangle left to her by her Ba - the one person she was always honest with - she finds herself unable to tell a lie. Priya is mortified. She tells her dad she hates his cooking, she tells Dan Zhang about her huge crush on him, she shares her best friends' secrets at school. She can't get the bangle off, and she can't stop the truths pouring out of her. As more things go wrong, and Priya's truth-telling spirals out of control, can Priya learn to be honest without hurting the people she loves? #fatguyreading #bookstagammers #bookstagramuk #bookstagrammer #bookstagram #bookstagrammersunite #bookstagramit #bookreader #booksbooksbooks #readingbooks #readbooks #readwhatyouwant #readstagrammer #readingforfun #readerfriends #readingstagram #readingaddict #bookreviews #bookreviewersofinstagram #bookreviewers #bookreviewer #bookreviewing #kaleidoscopictours

April was for Taylor Swift, rereading and finishing Zodiac Academy after loving this series for the last 3 years, some arcs from my favorite authors (@juliesotowrites and @junodawson and @meganbannen), and quite a few spooky reads! I was reading books like it was October and not April, but I love a good ghost story. 🎻 Not Another Love Song & Restless Stars were my favorite of the month. Not Another Love Song honestly could be my favorite of the year. 🎻I am still processing The Familiar. But I’m always obsessed with the FMC entering her villain era. 🎻 Lily Mayne is the GOAT of MM monster romance, and Moth is my grumpy dream man. 🎻 Bringing Down the Duke and The Undermining of Twyla and Frank were adorably perfect. 🎻 Queen B has me so excited for Human Rites I could puke. 🎻 Saleb and Torius forever. No tutaj było naprawdę dobrze! No trochę brutalne, ale serio. 🌷APRIL WRAP UP🌷 What a lovely month it was! 🌷Spring gifted us with so many warm and sunny days just like miss Swift gifted us with TTPD (which is a chef’s kiss). I watched also a so long-awaited Challengers movie directed by the master Luca Guadagnino. 🌷This month we also had a release of Taming 7 by Chloe Walsh (the fifth part of my favourite Boys of Tommen series) and Funny Story by the queen Emily Henry. 🌷April was a good bookish month. I’ve read 10 books and I enjoyed each of them. My 5✨ reads are: — Saving 6 by Chloe Walsh — Happy Place by Emily Henry — Aristotle and Dante Dive into the Waters of the World by Benjamin Alire Sáenz And here are my 4✨ & 4.5✨ books: — Keeping 13 by Chloe Walsh — Taming 7 by Chloe Walsh — Lingus by Mariana Zapata — Redeeming 6 by Chloe Walsh — Loving Mr. Daniels by Brittainy C. Cherry — Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren — Full Tilt by Emma Scott So excited that I found only good titles in April and honestly I can’t wait for my May reads (which will include Funny Story and Blue Sisters for sure). 🤍 And how was your April? Any good reads? Waiting for your recommendations. 🌷

“So long as we live on, we carry inside us all that they destroyed. That is our triumph.” ✨: Do you prefer duologies or trilogies? While I grew up on trilogies, I’ve actually come to prefer duologies! Things get wrapped up so nicely and it’s concise! Although sometimes there’s so many plot points that books benefit from having more lol How pretty are these books?? I need to reread Song of Silver soon so I can start Dark Star Burning! What’s everyone’s first read of May? [ID: an angled photo of Song of Silver, Flame Like Night and Dark Star Burning, Ash Falls White on a wooden board surrounded by fake flowers, a white sweater, open books and a candle.] #allthebooks #toberead #readingtogether #bookblog #bibliophilelife #unitedbookstagram #alwaysreading #bookstagramit #readingismagic #bookrecommendations #bookpics #bookloversofinstagram #reader #booksconnectus #bookstagramcommunity #bookclub #bookishlife #readingcommunity #booksonbooks #tbrpile #bookshelf #igbooks #booksofig #readingisfundamental #songofsilverflamelikenight #darkstarburningashfallswhite

𝘈𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘭 𝘸𝘳𝘢𝘱 𝘶𝘱 💐 💭 what has been you’re favourite read this month?? I read 14 books in April. I have had a few surprises, but I’ve also had a couple of disappointments that I’m still bitter about! My biggest surprise was an ARC of “Up The Ladder” I recently finished, and if I’m honest it’s left me in a bit of a reading slump I enjoyed it that much!! But my ultimate favourite of the month has to be the “These Hollow Vows” duology, I loved it so much! Books I’ve read this month: ➻ Night Shift - 3★ ➻ What the River Knows - 4.5★ ➻ Little White Lies - 3★ ➻ These Hollow Vows - 4.5★ ➻ These Twisted Bonds - 5★ ➻ Not in Love - 𝗗𝗡𝗙 ➻ The Dixon Rule - 4.5★ ➻ Taming 7 - 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 ➻ Wildfire - 4★ ➻ Ricochet - 4★ ➻ Girl Abroad - 3.5★ ➻ The Unhoneymooners - 5★ ➻ Flawless - 3★ ➻ Up the Ladder - 4.5★ Looking forward to seeing what May brings! I’m loving being in my romance era but I really want to sink in to a few good fantasy books this month!

#bookreview #newrelease ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The best thing about Almost Pretend by @nicolesnowbooks is the simplicity of the plot and the power of the writing. It's a story you have probably read a million times as s romance reader. A grumpy billionaire, an eccentric sunshine artist and their fake engagement for the sake of a greater cause becoming a great love story. But the reason you should still pick Almost Pretend is to experience Nicole Snow's beautiful writing. The way she effortlessly delivers all consuming feelings in every page. The way she makes everything poetic, even the heartbreak, even the hot scenes. Before I knew, I was invested into this heartaching story with brilliant contrast of humor. ✔️Billionaire romance ✔️ grumpy-sunshine ✔️enemies to lovers ✔️fake engagement ✔️opposite attract August Marshall is so deceptively grumpy and brooding. He is a man who has been betrayed, hurt, dragged through the mud of public court. He cannot afford to fall in love and definitely not with a storm like Elle. She is exactly opposite of his controlled calm world. She is pure beautiful chaos. With a big heart and bigger personality. She is sweet and adorable and witty and totally unfazed by August's grumpiness. She has seen grief and abandonment too but she has still chosen to see the brightness of life while August hide in the shadow. August and Elle came closer slowly with each day they spent pretending together. They both felt the very complicated emotions deep in their heart but for the sake of saving themselves from pain, they tried to ignore and resist. The author placed each piece of their puzzle with meticulous care and intention and I was completely lost in the process. Elle forced August to face the scary ways of falling in love and like all great book boyfriends, he finally lived upto the task. Elle deserves nothing less than the all consuming obsessive devotion from a man like August. The HEA was so swoony and sweet. #QOTD Predictive text game..I can Almost Pretend that... I took this mosaic photo while in Alexandria, Egypt, researching my Antonius Trilogy. Sadly, not much is left of "ancient" Alexandria. Two-thousand years of earthquakes, tsunamis, and war has pretty much obliterated most traces of Antony and Cleopatra's world. However, this mosaic of a dog and a strange looking container was discovered in the early 21st century while construction on the NEW Library of Alexandria was occurring. It is such a vibrant piece and dates from the time of Cleopatra--the last Pharoah. Hi book lovers! April went by in a blur but I didn’t quite manage to read as much as I would’ve liked. I only tackled two books, and here they are. In the middle of my re-read of The Mortal Instruments series I read Scarred by Emily McIntire. I have to say, I liked Hooked better. I am not super familiar with Hamlet so it is possible a lot of details went over my head, but overall I found it a bit flat and slow, especially in the beginning. The spice, however, was top notch. I then went back to City of Glass and honestly I loved the interactions between the characters and how much they grow and overcome their limits. I will continue with my re-read of this series, but not straight away. How did your April go? ✨APRIL WRAP UP✨ I know I say this every month, but time is flying! I can’t believe it’s May! April was a very busy month for our family with birthdays, youth sports, friends and family visits. May is only going to get busier and my reading always takes a back seat this time of year. I had a great reading month in April, with 11 4.5 and 5-star reads, and a total of 16 books read! Audiobooks came through for me once again, and I was able to listen to 9 books this month. All of my reads were ARCs and thankfully I enjoyed most of them. As always, I’m behind on my reviews, but my Goodreads is up to date if you’re ever curious about my star ratings or what I’m reading 😍. Here’s the breakdown: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • Kill For Me, Kill For You 🎧 • Effie Olsen’s Summer Special 🎧 • Happy Medium •Learn Your Lesson •This Summer Will Be Different 🎧 •4th Degree •The Five Year Lie •The Paradise Problem 🎧 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 •Wild Love •Hott Take •Just This Once 🎧 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • The Rom Commers🎧 • Crossroads 🎧 ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 •Truly, Madly, Deeply •Home Is Where The Bodies Are 🎧 DNF •Darling Girls 🎧 💭What was your favorite book in April? It’s hard to choose this month, but if I have to pick a favorite, I’ll say The Five Year Lie. 💭What are you looking forward to reading in May? I’m so excited for my buddy read of Savor It!

Artificial Wisdom by Thomas R. Weaver, @tom_weaver Genre: Crime | Thriller | Mystery Pages: 386 Publisher: Chainmaker Press. Blurb: SALVATION HAS A PRICE.
