This story had so much and it took me a bit to unlock the magic that this story truly had, Meet Lily Temple, an actress on film who portrayed a fairy in a fairy tale. But as with all stories and acts of illusion, all is not what it seems with Lily. Enter Peter Driscoll who has been hired to find a gem that has been missing for years. Lily seemingly has access to this gem and it has appeared on film. What is the story of the gem and what is Lily's connection. Also woven into this tale is a Gardner and a very clever use of the story of A Tale of Two Cities. Dickens’ classic is used to craft and foreshadow. I was completely enthralled as this story began to unfold. There was definitely more to Lily than there first seemed to be. The story that unfolded was one of a young girl searching for something, someone. She was searching for God whether she knew it or not and her growth was beautiful and very natural. Her emotions and feelings were portrayed in a way that could be empathized with and could draw the reader into her story. She was an exquisite storyteller within the story. Peter had integrity and was a perfect guide to help Lily uncover what she sought. He was a safe place and their story was so cautiously and beautifully written. As for the gem, you are going to have to read the book. I would highly recommend it. I received an early copy through NetGalley and this is my honest review. #revellreads #theelusivetruthoflilytemple #bookreview #5star

“Let’s just avoid French prisons, shall we?” ~ The Elusive Truth of Lily Temple by Joanna Davidson Politano (Revell, April 2024 #gifted) First, I need longer arms. Second, but more important, my review of this very quotable book is now up on my blog, bookworlder.Wordpress.com - but does it live up to the story? Nope, because I had to stop myself from writing a rambling gush of spoilers! So happy I have more of her books waiting ❤️ #TheElusiveTruthOfLilyTemple #JoannaDavidsonPolitano #ChristianFiction #HistoricalRomance #Mystery #ReadGoodBooks #RevellReads #bookstagram

Book Review: “The Elusive Truth of Lily Temple” By: @joannadavidsonpolitano “Can’t you feel him calling out to you from every story that wraps itself around your heart?” A private investigator, a silent film star, a legendary sapphire…this story is one filled with intrigue right from the start. While Peter Driscoll is investigating a missing sapphire, his path crosses Lily Temple’s, and she is a mystery all her own. This story is one of fairytales and magic, truth and forgiveness, love and freedom. It will tug on your heartstrings. I went in expecting a mystery and some romance and found so much more. Politano weaves in truths of who we are meant to be, how much God loves us, and how we can start anew into this story so beautifully. I felt immersed in the characters and I loved all the twists and turns. I loved watching Lily find herself again. This was beautiful. *Thank you to @revellfiction for my gifted copy! Hello, everyone! It feels like forever since I wrote a wrap-up post, mostly because I seem to always be busy at the beginning and end of each month lately, and because I tend to average about 3-4 books a month. Which is still progress, but doesn't offer much to talk about. That said, April was a crazy month for me, and also offered some great reads along the way! I also finished my #currentread today, so actually it was closer to 4 books as I just read the last 40 pages or so of Pages of Promise by @jessicaashleyauthor this morning. 🥰 We also managed to finish the Passover movie we were working on just in time. We are all excited to see the finished product, and the children all did amazing! As we begin this May, I'm finding myself a bit drained. This year is going by so fast, and has been so busy that I haven't had a lot of time to stop and reflect and to really just relax. I'm taking a few days this week to do just that as I get to enjoy some much needed quite time and some quality time with God. I'm excited to see what HE has in store as we roll through a new month, and I know HE is working on some big things behind the scenes. May you be blessed! Shalom! . . . . #monthlywrapup #aprilreading #aprilreads #bookpost #booklist #bookslesstravelled #newseries #newbooks #newbookrelease #2024books #booksiread #toreadnext #toberead #currentlyreading #whatiread #bookseriesilove #booksimloving #christianromanticsuspense #christianfiction #romanticsuspense #romancebooks #lastnextnow #lastcurrentnext #whattoread #revellreads #netgalleyreads #netgalley #advancereaderscopy #bookreaders

Sandcastle Inn Irene Hannon ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Vienna Price returns to Oregon to visit her mom when she is let go from her high powered job in the hotel industry. Planning to stay a few weeks and consider her next position, Vienna finds that her bohemian mother has settled in nicely to small town life. She's even opened a bookstore in Hope Harbor that is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. Matt Quinn is a veterinarian from San Francisco visiting Hope Harbor to help his sister figure out what to do with the worn out B&B she purchased. Needing some space to decompress after a devastating loss, he's not prepared for the amount of work his sister's investment needs. This was the tenth book in the Hope Harbor series. We’ve always enjoyed this special Oregon-coastal town. Unfortunately, Sandcastle Inn didn’t seem to have the same amount of depth or spiritual content. Vienna had been focused on her career to the exclusion of all else up until she was unexpectedly let go by her company. She began to realize her investment had been misplaced in things that have no eternal value. The best takeaway from this book was seeing the impact Vienna’s mom, Bev, had on other townspeople. She invested in people, had a listening ear, and was an encouragement to everyone who entered her shop. We received an advance copy from the publisher. "I suppose I do enjoy my secrets. Better to be silent than vulnerable." The Elusive Truth of Lily Temple is an enchanting mystery. Two words I never thought I'd pair together for a novel but perfectly descriptive. Politano is an expert story writer, mixing historical elements with captivating character depth, slow build romance and political corruption. Driscoll is tasked with finding a missing sapphire that was last known to be with silent film actress, Lily Temple. What unravels is the history behind the truly elusive Lily Temple. She isn't who she seems and harbors more secrets than most would realize. Lily was one of my favorite characters. Her spellbinding nature and quietly loving heart made her a character with a well of depth. Driscoll made the perfect supportive cohort with silent charm and unmatched smarts. I loved how the author tied in quotes of classic tales at the start of each chapter. Each fit the next portion of Lily's stories. I've never come across a novel that beautifully captures the essence of a fairy tale alongside a detective type mystery. I lost myself in these pages and cannot recommend this novel enough to readers who love a mix of genres like this. I'll be searching out more from Politano. Atmospheric, witty and utterly intriguing. Thank you @revellfiction for the gifted copy! All thoughts are my own. This story had vibes of The Holiday though it was set in the summer. Who knew switching jobs with someone else could be so revealing, Jacqueline and Ginny both have a lot to learn in this delightful tale. This one is set in Seattle and in Idaho which are worlds apart. Having grown up in Idaho and near Idaho Falls, I was delighted to have my state featured, but always get a little distracted when details aren't quite like what I know. That being said, this story was a fun and light summer read, but did have some strong emotional vibes Jacqueline and Giinny could not be more different from each other. One relishes the glitz and the glamour and the other is a really hard worker that doesn't focus on the fashion. What would a job switch be with romance in the new areas. The male protagonists were well written and had character all their own. I have read this author before and love the touristy destinations she writes about. I love the small town vibe. There is conflict in the stories without it being overwhelming and unmanageable. I think this story worthy of other women's fiction summer reads that have come before it. This is a nice clean read with just the right touch of Christian influence I received an early copy from the publisher on NetGalley and this is my honest review. #lifeswap #revellreads #christianfiction #bookreview #summerread

Happy Thursday friends! 🌻 I will never get over how much I absolutely love that it feels like I’m reading a Hallmark Movie when reading one of Melody Carlson’s books! 💕 This book has been moved to the reread pile, because of how much I related to Ginny! Her job is one of my dream jobs: family owned inn (lodge), fixing it up to help it reach its full potential and efficiency, friendly relaxed environment, and truly helping people and making those connections! 🥰 I love the small town feel and want to move to the fishing lodge immediately. 😍 The minor characters at the lodge were fun to read and I loved the connection and family-like feel of the place. I enjoyed the sweet romance and truly finding where you belong and are happy and appreciated. 🥰 There were a few characters that I wasn’t the biggest fan of at first, but then we got to see some major character growth and I was so happy! It was realistic and refreshing to see. The only problem I have with reading Carlson’s books is that they end, when I always want to jump inside the story and stay with the characters! 💕 I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. #happyreading #bookstagram #bookworm #currentlyreading #justforthesummer #melodycarlson #bookreview #revellreads #revellfiction @authormelodycarlson @revellfiction

💜The Lady With the Dark Hair💜 Thank you to @revellfiction and @erinbartelswrites for my copy. This book is out now, so be sure and grab a copy! 💜Told in a duel timeline, it centers around artist Francisco Vella and his art. In present day, Esther takes care of her mother, as well as a flailing art museum in Michigan. The museum specializes in Vella’s art, Esther’s ancestor. His painting, The Lady with the Dark Hair, has always hung in her home but she soon discovers it may not actually be his work. The other storyline follows Viviana who has escaped her upbringing looking to start over. She meets Vella and starts to discover her own love of art as well as talent. Both women are on a path of self discovery, happiness, and fulfillment. If you love historical fiction and/or art history, this is the book for you! I really enjoyed the story and all its twists, as well as both main characters. 💜What kind of art is your favorite? Sandcastle Inn by Irene Hannon // A heartwarming read about new beginnings, hope and healing. Vienna Price comes to Hope Harbor to figure out her next steps after her job is eliminated, but she doesn't plan on sticking around. But she can't help but be drawn in by the wonderful people, and the community that welcomes her. Matt Quinn comes to Hope Harbor at his sister's request to help her with her failing Bed and Breakfast, and he enlists Vienna at the suggestion of her mother. An engaging read, with good natural relationship building, strong faith, and character growth. I loved seeing Charlie again with his mysteriously good timing, and sage advice. I loved coming back to Hope Harbor, seeing the familiar faces and healing relationships in this feel-good, faith-filled read. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. To celebrate her tour, Irene is giving away the grand prize package of a full set of the Hope Harbor series (10 books) and a $50 Bookshop.org gift card!! https://labornotinvain.blogspot.com/2024/04/sandcastle-inn-by-irene-hannon.html #celebratelit #sandcastleinn #faithfiction #irenehannon #hopeharbor #revellreads #bookreview

The Lady with the Dark Hair by @erinbartelswrites "Art is romance. It's seeing something and having such deep affection for it in that singular moment that you're compelled to capture it so you can revisit it again and again. So you can share it with other people. So you can make them see the worth in what you see." - Erin Bartels I think those sentences sum up this novel pretty well! Esther has done everything in her power to keep their family name and art history known and alive through their museum but when she runs into an old art professor, he may just upend everything she has ever believed about her ancestry. I just loved the storylines in this novel. The historical was so fun to read about women painters and the current day Esther working to keep things up and running while taking care of her mother. I really enjoyed Esther's character as well as her mother and that dynamic of taking care of a parent. The past and current day stories flowed so well within each eachother. I was rooting for Viviana the whole time. The search to uncover the truth about the painting is also what brings about some truth and lessons about family and that sometimes the truth is hard to accept. Thank you to the @revellfiction Blogger Program and to the author for the complementary novel. This review is of my own opinion and accord. ❓Do you have art in your house? #theladywiththedarkhair #historicalfiction #art #womenpainters #portriat #dualtimeline #motherdaughterrelationship #familyancestry #revellreads #revellbloggerprogram

✨The Elusive Truth of Lily Temple Book Review ✨ I absolutely loved this story! It was beautifully whimsical and original, filled with themes of restoration and hope. I was swept away to 1903 England to a world of fairytales, secrets, and romance by Joanna’s poetic writing. I loved every minute reading it! I absolutely loved how Lily’s story slowly unfolds. At first her story is a complete mystery that is only hinted at, but chapter by chapter, it’s slowly revealed in all its complexity. And so is her character. At first, Lily is as elusive to you as the reader as she is to investigator Peter Driscoll. She is full of secrets and mystery but as the story progresses, she reveals her story a little at the time. The way the story is told made the book that much more suspenseful and compelling. I loved that Lily’s POV is written in first person! It made me feel really connected to her character. Peter Driscoll was such a lovable hero with his steadiness, integrity, and intelligence. I loved his desire to help restore broken stories and bring truth to light. He’s the calm-to-the-storm kind of hero and I truly love those type of heroes! He was the perfect match for Lily! The romance was beautiful! It made me feel the way the romance in a good classic movie does and I loved it! This book had the kind of dreamy setting that made me want to spend a day in a beautiful garden or cozy cottage with a cup of tea. It was wonderful! It was also so neat to learn a little about silent films, something I’ve never read about. The highlight of this novel for me was without a doubt the faith content. It was woven into this story so beautifully! The message touched my soul. It left me feeling so hopeful and inspired as I was reminded of a beautiful truth. For me, that is the best feeling I can have after finishing a book. In conclusion, I absolutely loved this book! It did more than entertain me— it made me think about why I love stories so much and left me inspired. If you love books that include elements of fairytales, faith, and secret identities, I think you’ll love this book! *Thank you to the publisher for sending me an ARC! All opinions are my own.

This was an interesting look at the possibilities experienced by Noah's wife and their family. It was written from several of their perspectives as they experience the building of the ark, the flood, and the aftermath of that. It shows the perspectives of Noah's sons' wives and the difficulties they had leaving their families behind and eventually losing them to the flood because they would not believe. It was interesting perspective. I enjoyed the story though some of the perspective did not entirely line up with my perspective of Christianity. That being said, it was a well written story and I enjoyed reading it. The experiences were relatable with a world that feels much like the world that they experienced prior to the flood. The book felt relevant and was enjoyable. I was sent an ARC by the publisher and this is my honest review. #revellreads #jilleileensmith #biblicalfiction #bookreview

I am featuring Never Fall Again (Gossamer Falls #1) by Lynn H Blackburn over on my blog! If you like Christian fiction or romantic suspense novels, I definitely recommend this story! Five stars! http://booksaresanity.blogspot.com/2024/04/never-fall-again-gossamer-falls-1-by.html?m=1 📚Book Review 📚 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Never Fall Again is the perfect balance of romance and suspense. I loved the small town of Gossamer Falls and all of the people in it. The town was full of people who were there for each other and all up in each others’ business. Exactly what you would expect of a small town! Landry and Cal hit it off right away and the slow burn romance was just right. Eliza was adorable and stole everyone’s hearts! I loved Cal’s family and how they all loved fiercely and were there for each other. Everyone wants a family like that. There were emotional and heart wrenching back stories and I loved the depth that made you feel what the characters did. Overall I loved the story and cannot wait to read more stories from Gossamer Falls! I really enjoyed this story. The suspense was light, but just enough to keep the mind going throughout the book trying to figure it out. There were plenty of clues towards what was going on, but also lots of distraction. What was not light was the arc involving the romantic lead. Their chemistry was wonderful despite their insistence on wanting to be alone. It was clear from the beginning that they belonged together. This fact did not detract from the story, it enhanced it., I love the setting and the families in this story. A little bit of an age old feud just made things even more interesting. I felt for Landry and her daughter and I fell for Callum, who wouldn't. With just the right touch of growth, love and forgiveness as well as setting up the stories for several characters, I found this story to be absolutely wonderful and I would love to visit this town again. There is nothing better than a good romantic suspense when you need a good escape and this one offered the perfect opportunity, As far as the suspense piece goes, I really did not see that coming. The romance was expected but felt organic. The story had the perfect touch. #GossamerFalls #revellreads #review #lynnhblackburnbooks

Never Fall Again Lynn H. Blackburn ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Landry Hutton moved to Gossamer Falls three years ago to rebuild her life. Working as the artist-in-residence at the exclusive resort, The Haven, has allowed her to build her pottery business. Finally ready to put down roots, Landry is ready to build a home that she and her daughter, Eliza, can enjoy. At the recommendation of a friend, she hires former Marine Callum Shaw to handle the construction. Cal's roots run deep in Gossamer Falls where he works in his family's business. Having been deeply hurt in a past relationship, he has given up on starting a family of his own. Though drawn to Landry, Cal is determined to keep his distance and protect his heart. We were so glad to open the pages of this new Blackburn series: Gossamer Falls. In our eagerness, we may have been guilty of reading this book quite quickly! Lynn took her time setting the stage for the town dynamics and extensive family connections, while building the romance between Cal and Landry. There were minor nuances hinting at the suspense later to come, but for a large portion of the book it felt like more of a contemporary romance story with deep family values. Before we knew it, the crisis was unfolding with two possible culprits making it difficult to narrow down the one most likely. We are highly anticipating the novella collection, Cornered, set to release on November 19, 2024 that includes Blackburn’s sequel to Never Fall Again. We look forward to returning to Gossamer Falls. We received an advance copy from the publisher. Meddling family or mind your own business? Do you have a preference in the stories you read? I love the GOOD kind of meddling family, especially when there are a lot of them to add individual quirks to the mix. You'll get that in spades with @lynnhblackburn's newest release Never Fall Again. Thanks to @revellfiction for sending me the book for review, which, btw you can find on my site wovenbywords.com! Landry and Eliza are newish residents to Gossamer Falls. They're ready to plant roots, but it seems like someone is intent on thwarting that, but WHO? Cal has grown up in Gossamer Falls with the Quinn clan all around him. Thankfully, Lynn provides a family tree at the front of the book to keep them all straight. Cal agrees to build Landry's home, but the longer he spends time with her, the more invested his heart becomes. This story covers SO many topics: adoption, interracial marriages, abuse, abandonment, church abuse, etc! It was all so well done! There's a reason I gave the story is 5 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟. This is the first book in the Gossamer Falls series, so now is the time to dive in to a good suspense! #gossamerfalls #suspense #neverfallagain #RevellFiction #revellreads

Grab a snack and a steaming cup of coffee or tea because you are going to want to settle in to read this one. ✨Book Review: As Landry Hutton settles into her new life, all seems to finally be at peace in her life as she starts the building of her new home until— something happens to bring her past crashing in on her and her daughter. Builder Callum Shaw quickly becomes involved in the case and Landry and Eliza’s life as he sees they need protection. Never Again has a blend of suspense, romance, and flawed characters to make this a good story. Landry was a wonderful mom, a creative artist, and willing to be vulnerable. Cal is generous, has a big heart, and I am glad to see he let go of his fears to see the possibility of a future with Landry. Here are some things to love about the book: 🌲North Carolina forest Small town 😬Suspense Pottery Landry’s daughter, Eliza 🐾Maisey, the Golden Retriever Cal’s family Maniacal villain This is the first book in the Gossamer Falls series, and I can’t wait to read more! Fun Fact: A Dance in Donegal was one of the first Christian Fiction Historical Romance books I read and I’ve read every one of her books since then! 🇮🇪 She is one of my favorite authors and I’ll continue singing praises for her books because I love the stories, Ireland setting and beautiful romance and faith threads! I think my favorite so far is The Maid of Ballymacool but honestly, they’re all AMAZING! 💚💚💚 @jenniferdeibel_author

⛰️ Book Review ⛰️ Title: Never Fall Again (Gossamer Falls #1) Author: Lynn H. Blackburn Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Release Date: March 12, 2024 I really wanted to love this one, but I must admit that it fell a little flat for me with the writing style and the pace of the story. I can see already from lots of reviews that I’m in the minority here, so keep an eye out for other reviews popping up. 😊 Here’s the scoop: I think that when I go into a book that is marketed as suspense, even romantic suspense, I crave a fast paced book that is FULL of suspense. I want to be on the edge of my seat the entire time. This book is more of a small town drama and love story where the mystery often takes a back seat to other aspects of the book. While there was definitely some suspense in the end, I didn’t feel like the story picked up at all until after the halfway point. I think this is mostly just a case of having different expectations. This is also a Christian fiction. However, I felt like the faith themes were mostly absent. Landry expresses a lot of “church hurt” in the book, but I did not feel like there was redemption to that part of the story. Yes, Landry finds community, but there is not a found church family necessarily or anything to redeem her experience and point to the gospel and true Christianity. That bummed me out. If you’re looking for a small town, just kisses romance, with some mystery and suspense, then I might recommend this to you! 😊 Thank you to @NetGalley and @revellfiction for my gifted e-copy in exchange for an honest review. #bookstagram #bookish #bookstagrammer #christianbookstagrammer #bookblog #bookblogger #booklover #booksbooksbooks #readersofig #reader #reviewer #bookreviewer #bookreviews #cleanbooks #bookrecs #bookrecommendations #romanticsuspense #revellreads #christianfiction

Do you ever take breaks in your reading? I like to cleanse my reading palette between fantasy books with light, easy reads. Usually historical romances if I’m being completely honest! The Irish Matchmaker by Jennifer Deibel was absolutely delightful. I haven’t read such a sweet, smeary historical romance in such a long time. I actually enjoyed the male and female main characters, Donal and Catríona. There were realistic and dealt with some of the same existencial struggles that real people experience. Even though the story line is a tiny bit predictable, I still devoured it. The story starts off in the 1905 in County Claire, Ireland, at the start of the Match Making Festival. Grumpy farmer Donal keeps a promise to his daughter and attends the festival in hopes of finding a wife through the help of matchmaker Cary. And what follows is a sweet slow burn realization of love. With this being set in Ireland, there are words that the author uses that I’m not familiar with but it didn’t distract me from the text in general. I also like how the author weaved teachings from the biblical Sermon on the Mount through out the story and as an eventual conflict resolution. If you’re a fan of historical romances, definitely add this to your TBR! Thank you to @revellfiction for sending me a copy to review. 🖤 #revellreads #theirishmatchmaker #jenniferdeibel #historicalromance #historicalfiction #christianfiction #irish #romancereads #cleanreads #bookstagram #bibliophile

Thank you @revellfiction for the complimentary copy of The Irish Matchmaker by Jennifer Deibel. I adored this sweet historical romance with an adorable flair of humor and relatable characters. Donel and his daughter Sara are trying to make ends meet. Catriona, the local Matchmaker, has her eyes set on the local upscale heartthrob. The novel follows a heartfelt theme that life may not always hand out what you think you want but in the end you'll find you have what you need if you listen. Catriona's inner fight between running from her humbler station and having a financially more stable life, her Matchmaking job, the festival and the quaint Irish town crafted a fun romance brimming with historical traditions I had never heard of until now. I also like how the author touches on struggling with faith and the difference between blind infatuation and a more realistic love. Relatable in it's themes, light on the religious inclusions, cute banter, adorable cheesy grin moments and a plot that sticks with the era and keeps you wanting to know how everything ends. I definitely recommend this novel to those who enjoy historical fiction romance and light Christian reads. QOTD: What tradition have you recently learned about? #RevellReads #TheIrishMatchmaker #JenniferDeibel #historicalfiction #historicalfictionromance #revellreads #matchmaker #historicalchristianfiction #irishromance

☆ARC Review☆ Thank you @revellfiction Publication Date:03-12-2024 Never Fall Again Lynn H. Blackburn *Landry Hutton has spent the last three years rebuilding her life behind the gates of The Haven. The Haven is an exclusive resort on the outskirts of Gossamer Falls, North Carolina. Landry works as in-residence-artist but she’s decided it’s time to settle in permanently with her daughter, Eliza. Landry feels Gossamer Falls is a safe place for Eliza to grow up. Former Marine Callum Shaw always knew one day he’d join his family’s construction business in Gossamer Falls. Cal finds himself attracted to the funny, beautiful, and gifted artist who’s hired him to build her house. She’s everything he could dream of in a partner but he vows to keep his distance. He’s loved and lost before and doesn’t want a repeat. Landry’s pottery is destroyed in a suspicious fire and it soon becomes evident that Landry and Eliza are in danger. *A brilliantly written five star read! The setting is peaceful with a quaint atmosphere. The characters are extremely likable and well developed. I absolutely loved the Quinn/Shaw family. They’re fun, warm, and welcoming. Cal is the embodiment of what a good Christian man should be. Landry is a woman whose heart is as big as her faith. Following their developing relationship was tender and sweet. We meet Landry first who’s decided to finally have her dream house built. Landry goes to Cal who works with his family in their construction business. As Landry starts to come out of her shell a series of dangerous events begin to occur. Someone is after Landry but the suspect remains unknown. The author kept up the suspense as a game of cat and mouse plays out until the guilty party is revealed. Not many clues are given to the person’s identity keeping the story shrouded in an air of mystery. Cal and Landry share a common foundation in faith that keeps them going just as the close-quarter circumstances bring their friendship to the next level. The author kept me in suspense while capturing the presence of God in bad circumstances and the growing romantic relationship. @lynnhblackburn

Huge thanks to @RevellReads for my #gifted copy of @ptbradly1 Patricia Bradley’s Fatal Witness, Book 2 in the Pearl River Series. If you like small time crime fiction, this one is for you. I very much enjoyed getting to know our two main characters, and loved the romance that slowly develops. A tragic murder witnessed by a young girl, Dani Bennett cannot recall the night of her parents murder. For 25 years she is sheltered away by her Uncle, who does not tell her the truth about where she came from or about her Grandmother who has been desperately trying to find her all these years. A collision course of more murders, missing diamonds, finding family, small town detectives, and a K9 officer whom we come to love as the story deepens. I absolutely loved the roles the two dogs played in the book. I would have liked to see more details about the artistry both Dani and her Grandmother share. This was fast paced, with lots of twists and turns. Highly enjoyable and I am looking forward to the next book. A story mixed with family, faith, secrets uncovered, murders, small town police and detectives, forgiveness and the courage to keep fighting until answers are found. #smalltowncrimefiction #pottery #whodunit #RevellReads #PatriciaBradley #romanticsuspense #Tennesse #Montana #amnesia #ptsd #courage #faith #love #dogs #bookclubgirlssparta #christianfiction

What a compelling novel Sarah Sundin pens of WWII! Take one famous BBC reporter from the front, determined to broadcast live for his country and the world. Determined they hear the truth, not just the government line crafted to only encourage, truth be hanged. Add one Dutch refugee, a widow, who works for the department that evacuated children out of London to the countryside. Both acquire enemies as they buck the system, getting closer to each other. Will they survive both enemy and “friendly” opposition and will Aleida find her young, missing son before the war does? An incredible tale of personal bravery amidst a war you will feel very much a part of. 🚔 Book Review 🚔 Title: Double Take (Lake City Heroes #1) Author: Lynette Eason Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was my first romantic suspense novel–Christian romantic suspense in this case, and I really enjoyed it! Certain her would-be-killer-ex-fiance is dead after shooting him in self-defense 18 months ago, Lainie is a PA trying to move on with her life after her traumatic domestic abuse experience. James, her best friend’s brother, is a detective who winds up in her ER room just in time to help Lainie when it becomes clear that someone, someone who looks like her deceased fiance, is following her. When attempts on Lainie’s life begin to be made, James and Lainie must find out who the stalker is and how to stop him together. James and Lainie were great together and I really enjoyed watching their romance unfold, even under the intense circumstances. It was great to have two PTSD reps in this story, too. Parts of this story felt very realistic and others didn’t, but I didn’t mind. This story had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, and I was never quite sure who the bad guy was going to be! I actually listened to this as an audiobook and loved it as a fast-paced, engaging read to have in my airpods while I rocked my toddler to sleep again. And again. And again. Anyone else? 😂 #teething I’m really looking forward to reading Cole and Kenzie’s story later this year! #bookstagram #bookish #bookstagrammer #christianbookstagrammer #bookblog #bookblogger #booklover #booksbooksbooks #readersofig #reader #reviewer #bookreviewer #bookreviews #cleanbooks #bookrecs #bookrecommendations #cleanromance #romanticsuspense #christianromanticsuspense #christianbooks #revellreads

Thank you @RevellReads for my copy of Sarah Sundin’s latest Historical Fiction novel, Embers in the London Sky. For any reader who loves WW2 era novels, this one is for you. What lengths would you go to as a mother to find your child that has been separated from you? This is what many mothers in this time period faced. Our main character Aledia is planning to escape her brutal husband, taking her 3 year old son with her. Until her plans are thwarted and while she is sleeping, her son Theo is handed off to strangers. She struggles to reach London in hopes of finding her son, and we are taken on a long journey full of witty characters, wartime London, radio news, murder, censorship, and ultimately hope. Author descriptions of the fires and state of night time raids were vivid and I felt as though I was watching on the streets as the night time skies filled with sirens and bombs. When Aleida meets a BBC radio correspondent, Hugh Collingwood, little did she know she was in store for an unravelling of truths and lies that blur the answers they both desperately seek. Murders, friendship, love, a telling of hope and faith that has you rooting for justice. I loved the weaving of the symbolic toy that you will come to learn about, and how a mothers love is never truly forgotten. I enjoyed the romance between Hugh and Adelia and cheered for them throughout the chapters. What would have made this story even better was less characters. At times it was confusing trying to figure out who was who. I also thought this could have been edited a bit and cut by at least 50 pages. Otherwise a good story about a part of history that was told from a Dutch refugee point of view, and you will learn a lot of radio broadcasting and what vital role this played in keeping the public not only informed but holding spirits up in a time of atrocity and war. #revellreads #embersinthelondonsky #bookclubgirlssparta #dutchww2 #historicalfiction #christianfiction

#Review #embersinthelondonsky @sarahsundinauthor #historicalfiction #historicalromance #christisnhistoricalfiction #WWII @revellfiction #revellreads She'd found her son, only to have him ripped from her arms again. Once. Twice. Thrice As I read this heartbreaking story, I couldn't help wondering how I would have survived the trauma of being separated from my child, but even worse, losing him during wartime. Would I have been as determined as Aleida or would I have spent my life grieving for the three-year-old who was taken from me? Author Sarah Sundin shares Aleida's emotional journey, beginning in The Netherlands in 1940, and leading her to London as she frantically searches for her little boy Theo. The dangers of WWII are always present, and the heartache never subsides, but Embers in the London Sky has so much more. Friendship, romance, and faith renewed; questions, murder, and the atrocities suffered during this war! I can always count on the historical gems and the faith nuggets that Sundin weaves into her books. I wasn't aware of the huge number of children who were separated from their families in World War II, and Sundin reminds us that refugees have always been met with resistance! Embers in the London Sky is a soul-searching combination of history, mystery, and faith; and I highly recommend this engrossing story to all who enjoy historical Christian romance. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. There was no obligation for a positive review.

Fatal Witness Patricia Bradley ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We were pleased to return to Pearl Springs, Tennessee for Bradley’s second book in her Pearl River Series. This book brought new characters alongside previously introduced people from the first book in the series. Dani Collins has no memory of growing up in Pearl Springs for the first nine years of her life. Her mind has blocked the events of her parents’ murders and her former life. However, the grandmother she left behind has never given up hope of finding Danielle. Circumstances collide when Dani’s photo appears in a feature of a pottery magazine. Her grandmother, Mae, is certain this is her beloved Danielle. Mae Richmond immediately turns to neighbor and local K-9 officer, Mark Lassiter, for his help. As he and Dani connect, it becomes clear this is no longer a 25-year-old cold case and both their lives are now in jeopardy. We enjoyed the characters and storyline as Dani and Mark struggle with their own form of fear even as they are drawn closer together. The murderer was easy for us to pinpoint, but the overall book was compelling and one we were eager to continue reading in order to quickly reach the conclusion. We received an advance copy from the publisher. Fatal Witness is a fast read, with likable characters and interesting plot. Dani Bennett, talented potter and artist, receives a mysterious phone call from an officer from Pearl Springs Tennessee.  Returning that call, starts Dani on a journey that ends in both tragedy and reunion.  Dani's parents were murdered 25 years ago, and she saw the killer.  The problem is Dani doesn't remember anything before she was 9 years old when she moved to Montana with her Uncle Keith.  Dani travels to Pearl Springs, unknowingly triggering a series of events and discoveries.   The plot included a sweet romance, is quick paced and well resolved. I would recommend this as an easy read with likeable characters and a clean message focusing on clinging to God in fear. Full review on my blog! Link in Bio! ✨BOOK REVIEW✨ Really enjoyed this one! 🇮🇪🇮🇪💚💚Jennifer @jenniferdeibel_author does NOT disappoint with her newest release, The Irish Matchmaker. I have read every one of her books and they consistently deliver captivating tales filled with profound emotion. In The Irish Matchmaker we follow the daughter of a well-known matchmaker, Catriona Daly. She is helping widowed cattle farmer Donal Bunratty find a wife to help take care of their family farm and raise his daughter by his side. He attends the matchmaking festival as a wish for his young daughter, only to end up not finding the one he thought he would. But what happens when the one doing the matchmaking appears to be the woman of his dreams? The story goes on from here as Donal and Catriona get to know one another but Lord Osborne’s son, Andrew, throws a “cog in the wheel” we will say in all the matchmaking..... This Christian Historical Romance is set in Ireland and Jennifer always has the best descriptions and dialogue for the setting and characters. You really feel like you are there with them. The characters always touch your heart too. I love a good single Dad story finding love again - one of my favorite tropes - and this was so sweet as his little girl stole my own heart! The story did take a little bit for me to get invested but around the 50% mark, I finished the book so quickly and loved the ending. The romance was sweet - I thought originally it was going to be a love triangle, but it wasn’t really a serious one, as we knew Andrew was not a good guy from the beginning and Donal and her had a great connection together. My favorite part of this is the ending and the Sermon on the Mount scriptures and discussion with his little girl. Absolutely beautiful. I will always recommend Jennifer’s books - solid clean, Christian Historical Romance. No content warnings or triggers to report as the romance was completely clean with kisses only. :) Thank you to Revell and Jennifer for allowing me to be on the Launch Team and providing me with a copy to honestly read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Embers In The London Sky Sarah Sundin 3.5 stars This was a new author for the two of us. We could definitely feel her appreciation for the World War II era with the depth of historical background she included in her novel. Her information spanned from The Netherlands to Scotland, while keeping the majority of her focus in London. We followed the story of Aleida and Hugh through 1940 and 1941. Sundin included heartbreak, grief, friendship, intrigue, racial bias, and love throughout her story. However, the most compelling character we embraced was Hugh Collingwood, a BBC radio correspondent. He was a curious and charming figure who portrayed true grace and mercy. He owned his mistakes without shifting blame and offered forgiveness as a true sign of character. Hugh illustrated how much we should focus on the people in our lives and control the words we speak. Admittedly, this historic period is not a favorite of ours, and while wartime is chaotic, there seemed to be many storylines competing for attention. Nevertheless, Sundin managed to intertwine a sweet love story amid loss and pain. We received an advance copy from the publisher. Happy Tuesday friends! 🌻 Oh my goodness did I ever LOVE this book! 😍😍🔥😍 This one has been added to my favorites pile and is tied for first place in my favorite Patricia Bradley novels, tying with Deception…Clayton Bradshaw is just all sorts of my favorite kind of hero! 😍 This book had me from the very first page! I couldn’t stop reading and wanting to know what would happen next! I can’t tell you how much I absolutely LOVED Mark Lassiter! 😍😍🔥😍 He’s everything I love in a hero! A godly man, protective, sweet, caring, and just absolutely precious! And I loved him with Dani! How he treated her and protected her! *happy sigh* 🥰 I also loved Dani’s character and how she grew throughout the story! 💕 One of my very favorite parts about reading a series is getting to see characters from previous books, and seeing Alex and Nathan made my heart oh so happy! 🥰 Patricia Bradley’s writing is some of my very favorite! I love her characters, storylines, action, suspense, and the faith involved! This book, like all the others, but even BETTER, had me so invested! 🔥 I was flying through the pages and thinking about it whenever I was forced to set it down. I can’t wait to read book three in the Pearl River series and see which characters’ heads we get to dive inside and watch fall in love (I have a couple guesses and I reeeeally hope I’m right!) Thank you Patricia for another absolutely incredible read! 💕 And just look at that cover! 😍😍😍😍 I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. HAPPY BOOK BIRTHDAY to this wonderful read! 💍 Book Review 💍 Title: The Irish Matchmaker Author: Jennifer Deibel Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This story is about a small Irish village with an annual matchmaking festival. Not far from the village lives a widowed cattle farmer, struggling to survive financially with a charming young daughter. When the festival comes to town, the farmer is thrust into finding a match, and the daughter of the village’s famous matchmaker is tasked with finding the match for him. Maybe she’ll find a match for herself as well! This was a sweet and very endearing historical romance. I loved how the author’s writing really gave you a feel for the Irish setting and you could hear the accents so well. Donal, Catriona, and Sara were such lovable characters, and I really enjoyed watching their stories unfold and intertwine. A theme of this Christian historical fiction is God’s providence, and I really enjoyed the references to the Sermon on the Mount. If you want to be transported to 1905 and the Irish countryside, I’d definitely recommend this one! 🌸 The Irish Matchmaker by Jennifer Deibel Book Review 🌸 I’ve read Jennifer Deibel’s last three novels and enjoyed them all but I think The Irish Matchmaker might just be my favorite so far! I loved the Irish setting, the characters, and the fun matchmaker plot. Oh, and the cover is gorgeous!🥰 I really liked both Catríona and Donal! Their romance was so sweet and fun.💗 Donal was such a good father to Sara. I loved watching as Catríona warmed up to them both. 𝑵𝒆𝒘 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘 The Divine Proverb of Streusel Sara Brunsvold @sara_brunsvold Revell @revellfiction / baker house @baker_book_house 👩🏻‍🍳. “With every crumble she shakes from her palm, she pours a prayer from her lips…She sows seeds of love into hate, mercy into hurt, hope into gloom, giving freely of the faith she possesses” 👩🏻‍🍳Nikki, the main character, has had her world shaken by her parent’s sudden divorce and her father’s abandonment. It isn’t until she flees in the night to the home of her paternal grandmother that she realizes just how much pain/anger/grief that she is feeling and that her father endured in his childhood. Going through her grandmother and great grandmothers recipes she finds messages of hope, lovingly baked into the directions for food from her German ancestors. 🍪This is a story of finding your heritage, your faith and your way home again. Forgiveness is easily said then done and this book hit me personally right between the eyes. I have always heard that God gives us one mouth and two ears because we need to listen more than we speak. Listening to another’s story gives us the insight into how they think and make decisions. This book, although fiction gave me pause into some of the more challenging relationships in my life. 👩🏻‍🍳 Sara has a way with words that rivals few I have seen recently. You are immediately drawn into her story and become attached to her characters. I can’t believe this is only her second book. The wisdom that she entwines in her stories stay with you long after the book returns to the shelf. I can’t wait to see/read what she churns out next. 📖 Thank you Revell and Baker house publishing for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own. ❓Do you prefer 𝒃𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 or 𝒄𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈? ✨BOOK REVIEW RELEASE WEEK✨ Embers in the London Sky by Sarah Sundin @sarahsundinauthor This WWII story will leave you with so many emotions - it’s a must read! We have war, mystery, a bit of romance and a mother who will stop at nothing to find her son in London. This is the second book I have read by Sarah and I can’t wait to dive into more of her backlist! This book starts off with a emotional punch - our main character Aledia is with her abusive husband and young son during their escape from the Nazis in the Netherlands. While she is asleep, her husband tears their son from her arms and gives him away to a random man and woman because he is embarrassed of his son’s hand deformity. When Aledia wakes up, she realizes what has happened and is devastated - determined to find her son. Before she can even discuss what happened with her husband, he is killed from effects of war. Left a widow and alone, she is desperate to find her son in London. She makes her way there and meets a BBC reporter - Hugh Collingwood. Hugh and Aledia work together to find her son, along with unraveling a murder mystery along the way. All of this is occurring in the midst of bombs in London. As a mother of a young boy the same age as Aledia’s son, this book tugged at my heart strings in many ways. I was so invested and connected to our characters and the slow burn romance was beautiful in the end between Hugh and Aledia. They went through so much together. The faith element in this shows us that God never leaves us, nor forsakes us and He walks with us even in the valley of the shadow of death. I loved the ending so so much. I was in tears. Your heart will be broken and restored by the end. You are truly transported right there in the middle of all the events taking place. A perfect Christian historical fiction with everything I love in a good book. Highly recommend! Thank you to NetGalley and Revell for a copy to honestly read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

✨BOOK REVIEW RELEASE WEEK✨ Fatal Witness by Patricia Bradley @ptbradley1 is book 2 in the Pearl River Series and it will certainly keep you on the edge of your seat needing to know ALL the things! Fans of book 1 will be happy to see Alex and Nathan back in book 2 as they help K-9 Officer Mark Lassiter work the cold case of Dani Bennett’s parents murder and her learning her true identity after being in hiding in Montana for the past 25 years. Dani has no memory of her life in Tennessee or the murder of her parents. She returns after her Grandmother, Mae Richmond, finally finds her from a photo she notices in a pottery magazine and the story goes on from here as Dani starts to uncover her past and relive old memories to figure out what happened many years ago. This book kept my interest from the first chapter. As a Tennessean myself, I love the Tennessee setting in this series. The suspense in this one is top tier as you are eager to continue to see all the reveals to come. Someone is always breaking in somewhere, watching and tracking our characters and with many suspects, you’ll find it difficult to figure out the killer up until the very end. It will keep you guessing, which I loved! The faith content in this book was very nice and woven in beautifully. Dani’s Grandmother Mae also truly steals the show - she is feisty and strong willed - we love to see it! The romance between Mark and Dani was sweet, even thought I did want a little bit more between them in the ending. :) Mark is such a great guy who had some past trauma he was trying to work through and scared to love again but Dani was willing to be right there with him through every emotion and I loved that. I also loved seeing Nathan and Alex from book 1 helping throughout the suspense and getting some additional backstory with them. This book could technically be read as a standalone, but I think you best enjoy it after reading book 1 in the series. If you love a good Christian romantic suspense, I highly recommend this series. Thank you to NetGalley and Revell for a copy to honestly read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

#bookrelease & #bookreview Wow! This second book in the Pearl River suspense series is more intense & even better than the first! From the first chapter, Fatal Witness grabbed hold of my attention & didn’t let go. This compelling mystery centers around a young woman who can’t remember what happened 25 years ago when she witnessed her parents’ murder. Now found by her grandmother after her picture appears in a magazine, she’s slowly regaining her memory. When she returns to the small Tennessee town where the murders took place, her life & those of her loved ones are put in danger by a killer who is determined to prevent her from remembering. This story kept me hurriedly turning the pages. When Dani Bennett decides to return to Tennessee, the suspense ratchets up even before she gets there when someone breaks into her grandmother’s home & Mae suffers a stroke. From there, the intensity increases as someone’s determined to take Dani out before she can remember who killed her parents. Handsome K-9 Officer Mark Lassiter who helped in finding Dani is a huge support. Their instant attraction turns to more as they find themselves constantly in danger when Dani’s parents’ cold case is reopened. I enjoyed the romance between them & the touch of faith that’s woven throughout their story. I also loved Dani’s feisty grandmother Mae who’s an amateur detective with her own crime board. The mystery kept me guessing with several red herrings. There are quite a few suspects and while I had my suspicions, it wasn’t until close to the end that I started putting pieces together. I also enjoyed seeing Alex and Nathan again from the first book. It’s an edge of your seat story that’s hard to put down and easily read in a day. Although Fatal Witness is part of a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone. However, those familiar with the first book will enjoy seeing familiar characters again. #BookRevew : EMBERS IN THE LONDON SKY by Sarah Sundin Embers in the London Sky is a compelling story of a mother’s love set in the chaos of WWII London. Aleida’s search for her son unfolds as a slow burn narrative, with a backdrop of the air raids and bombings. It was heartbreaking with so many lives lost and properties were crumbled to the ground.  In the thick of it all, journalists like Hugh, risked everything to deliver the truth.  I can relate to his health concerns so it kept me on edge every time he went running towards the bombs.  I liked Hugh’s engaging personality and charisma. He drew people in with his warmth including Aleida. I appreciate that their romance was realistic considering the time and circumstances. I love the cover but it’s more beautiful to me now after reading Aleida’s story. It’s a memory that’s etched in her heart. I admired her determination to seek for her son, her willingness to help others and her newfound strength to seek justice.   I’m thankful to the author for opening my eyes to the resilience of the people in London during WWII. This poignant story will surely capture your heart and remind us that God sees us. His love and acceptance will transcend even the most trying times.  Rating: 5 ⭐ Pub date: 06 Feb 2024 Thank you Revell for the complimentary copy. All opinions expressed are my own.
