This month marks 4-years since going full time with Modus! Four years ago, I took the leap, quit my full time job, and started doing the thing I loved most, which was helping people climb better, feel better, and have fun in the process. Let's do end of the year hanging challenge 😜 . . What's your max hang with one arm? Use weightbelt or if your weights go heavy enough hold weight in free hand. . . Flash back to this time last year when we conquered the 48kg Beast KB in the gym. It's a very different game holding KB in one hand or weighted belt. The lateral pull was real haha. Both hands now need to work. Loved it. . . But 40kg hang with weightbelt felt strong for 6/7seconds. Grip isn't one the most important things. It's THE most important thing ;) . . Egykezes húzódzkodás dokumentáció 📝 Az előző tervben 4x2 ismétléseket végeztem az ellensúllyal asszisztált egykezes húzódzkodásból, ahol 12 kg ellensúlyt sikerült lefaragni 9 kg-ra, 4 hét alatt. (Minél kevesebb az ellensúly, annál nehezebb a gyakorlat, mivel nagyobb terhelés tevődik a dolgozó oldalra.) A jelenlegi terv a következőképpen fest: A1: Assz. egyk. húzódzkodás @ 8kg 3x1 Magabiztos 1 ismétlések, (NEM 1RM terhelés❗️), ahol a cél -1 kg / hét, vagyis 4 hét múlva várhatóan már csak 5 kg asszisztálás lesz. A2: Assz. egyk. húzódzkodás @ 12kg 2x4-5 A cél itt a volumen növelése alacsonyabb, de még mindig relatíve magas intenzitással, ugyanazon gyakorlattal! A3: Széles húzódzkodás 1x ~bukásig Itt cél a további extra volumen, ill. a fogásmód következtében a célizmok egy kicsit más régióit, kicsit más módon történő megdolgoztatása, valamint fontosnak tartom, hogy az egyoldalas gyakorlatok mellett bilaterális mozdulatok is helyet kapjanak a programban. Kiegészítő gyakorlatok terén igen komoly szerepet kap a bicepsz, mely az egykezes húzódzkodás felső harmadában jelentős munkát végez, így ennek a területnek a szeparált erősítése abszolút indokolt. Potom čo mi @matkofeher doporučil @tofitko_palmovka bolo nutné vyskúšať každé zákutie. Úplne top gym v okolí Holešovic. Parádna zóna pre kalisteniku, silový tréning a nestratia sa ani stroje pre kulturistiku a kardio zóna. Vieš že majú aj saunový svet a wellnes? Zastavím sa častejšie 🤩. Keď som videl túto stenu s hastagom #stojkujainspiruj stojka v tréningu bola jasná. Po dlhšej pauze bez silového tréningu pre zraneni ruky aj nejaké tie váhy. Samozrejme poháňaný novou čokoládou od @chocolatebaure 💚 After @matkofeher recommended me an excellent gym, it was necessary to try every piece of equipment. Absolutely top gym in Holešovice area. Awesome zone for calisthenics, strength training and don't miss the bodybuilding machines and cardio zone. Do you know that they also have wellness ? I will stop by more often 🤩. By example, these particular row variations integrate pulling strength with balance. It’s interesting how many folks walk into a gym with their first goal being, “I want to do a pull up!” For some, there is a sense of frustration around not being able to do a pull up, but think about it: when in real life are you regularly required to do pull ups? #stoptheshamegame That said, pull-ups are not reserved only for athletes, & there are lots of real life experiences that benefit from increased pulling strength (raking leaves, playing tug-o-war at a picnic, rowing a kayak, lifting a suitcase off the floor, throwing a backpack on your back). Plus, developing pull up strength will also improve posture, help protect & stabilize your spine, & provide shoulder & back strength - ultimately providing protection from injury. Not to mention the feeling of empowerment & accomplishment when you get your first pull up! Build these through consistent effort, grit, & courage! When we don't Cali, we climb. Still pulling😂 . . Well, climbing was consistent 2-3 X a week thing, now it's 2x a month one but I'm going to change it, work on the fingers and get back to fun hard climbs. . . Avoiding London coronation madness and escaping to Climbing centre. Think I choose climbs well lol. Straight arm support and discussing moves, challenging but doable. Lovely way to Saturday. . . Exemplary technique by Jacqui! Jacqui’s been going from strength to strength lately, turning the 3-day-a-week training schedule with us to an almost DAILY practise of movement! She trains on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning in our private groups, where we keep the ratio of clients to coaches at 4:1 to maximise the quality of learning. #SmashTip I'm starting to love these One Arm Rows more and more each time that I do them. I could say that this can be the bridging gap between doing the Mix Grip variations or other variations that need both arms to be performed.. it gives a more specialized approach towards the OAC because it removes the assistance hand.. (this will help you understand and learn how to move and engage in the OAC itself.. in the end the technique and the feel that you get while performing the exercise means way more then the strength alone) The things I noticed while doing these: - Learn how to setup the body, bench and ring height. - Hips should be somewhere below the bench and the strap should be vertical or slightly diagonal backwards for less intensity. - Not setting this up correctly will increase the intensity in the mid to the top part of the movement (This could be the goal afterwards if you want to increase and focus on that mid to top range if you have issues with the lockout itself) Doing this variation I found out that the mid to top part is mostly getting more work done, because when you pull and lockout at the top your body is almost straight (if you increase the height off the ring, you will find yourself almost getting off the bench itself), and when you are in that position you have most of the bodyweight transferred into your arm. So, if you have issues with that area like me I would say work on this and build up the volume. The bottom to mid part wont get that much work done when you compare it to the mid to top. You will have more leg assistance and you can arch and actually use as much help you need to finish the movement. Feel free to test different positions and see what feels best for you. If you can't perform 2-3 reps with alternating arms. drop the exercise and work on something that will bring less intensity. You don't have to do dragon flags to help support your front lever work, build some rigid core strength to support many other lifts/goals you have, strengthen back and shoulders...you really don't, but it bloody hell works too good not to. . . I mean look at the two posts. Any similarities at all? . . Few core exercises that are just pure gold in Cali are dragon flags, windshield wipers, hollows (side and regular), ab rollout, leg raises. . . Dragon flags are always/often part of front lever work for my clients. Single leg front lever have proven to be much more beneficial than straddle. Little recent finding. It's easier to keep consistency in and measure progress. Straddle can be wider one day, less the other but that all adds hell of a lot of change to hold. So single leg and half lay are likely my faves. . . So dragon flag and build those rows, get strong pull and practise the hell out of the levers. .. . Here's a couple clips of my training I did this month. My straddle panche is getting better slowly just have to keep going, cant give up now. My one arm pull ups are getting easier. My handstands are getting better, They're not as banana'd but I can never get a video of a good straight handstand lol. Heavy pull work : Vid 1 &2 one arm pendley rows with 110kg & 100kg max effort power work; Vid3 weighted ring rows (120kg body weight + 30kg plates ) reduction set to fail ; Vid4 one arm cable rows ; these days I prefer one arm pull variations for my most intense sets , I can hit the muscles harder but the nervous system and my overall recovery capacity less. One arm rows can be used for more specific approach for the OAC.. the really good thing is that you can use one arm rows in the beginning of the OAC training just by working on easier variations and by going more diagonal with your body, just like you would with the normal horizontal rows.. This variation in the video is somewhere on the higher intensity level which I struggle a bit with and I need to work on it little bit more.. I haven't done them that much in the past, but I am starting to implement a little bit more variety into my training instead of rocking the mix grips, pulley, negatives etc. OAR on rings could be used in many different ways as well where you can pull more with your biceps, more with your back, by rotating and any other way you saw ppl perform on IG.. I tend to hit different sets and reps depending on the goal and when this exercise is done (beginning or end of the workout).. Tempo - try to feel the movement and the control of every rep that you do.. Good unilateral work that feels way different from any other exercise like OAR with dumbbells or cables..
