Jeho temné myšlenky zašly ještě dál, když si přestavil, co by dělal, kdyby pod koly kamionu skončilo jeho dítě. Na základě těchto myšlenek se rozhodl napsat román, který mu však přišel tak temný a depresivní, že ho nejprve vůbec nechtěl vydat. Nakonec ale podlehl tlaku ze strany svého nakladatele. Pokud je vám námět povědomý, tak vězte, že velkou inspirací byla Kingovi povídka Opičí tlapka (1902) od W. W. Jacobs pojednávající o rodičích, kteří touží po návratu jejich mrtvého syna. A proč je v názvu románu slovo Řbitov? Originální názvev Pet Sematary úmyslně obsahuje gramatické hrubky. Anglické slovo cemetery zkomolily malé děti, když vyráběly ceduli na vstupní branku místa posledního odpočinku jejich mazlíčků. Another King book down, this time it was The Dead Zone. Another fantastic entry into King’s vast body of work, this kept me on the edge of my seat awaiting to see what would happen next. While I feel the last few chapters felt a tad rushed, the ending did overall stick the landing for me. "When they got here It would cast them, shrieking and insane, into the deadlights.” Reading It by Stephen King sure felt like walking through the sewer. It was incredibly descriptive about the grime and terror of childhood fears and took some very strange turns. It also felt too lengthy and overindulgent at times. I love how the movie took it in its own direction, though I really started enjoying it when I heard Love Removal Machine by The Cult playing on a scene. Regardless, few characters in the creepy clown trope have been as iconic as Pennywise the Clown. Drawing this was a good way to give stippling a break to get a hang of dynamic lighting. I love how thin, tapering lines are used to evoke panic, anxiety, or terror on the viewer, something I see used a lot in manga. It also felt great to sketch this on paper with my favorite color combination of red, black, and white. Gwendy dostaje dziwne pudełko od tajemniczego mężczyzny w kapeluszu. Na początku rozmowy nie chce przyjąć nic od nieznajomego lecz po namowie przyjmuje je. Nastolatka nie zdaje sobie sprawy że właśnie jej życie wywróci się do góry nogami i będą ją spotykały dziwne i przerażające sytuacje ale te właśnie pudełko będzie dla niej zbawieniem. Czy dziewczyna da radę wyzwaniom? Ich lese ja niemals die Klappentexte und hab mir einfach was anderes vorgestellt. Dieses Buch scheint allerdings auch ein recht beliebtes Buch zu sein, also war meine Vorfreude enorm hoch, aber ich sag’s euch wie es ist: „Es hat mich nicht wirklich überzeugt.“ Zu viel langatmiges politischen Zeug, Liebesgeschichte und Auf und Abs was Spannung anging. Immerhin gab es mal weniger Charakter die man sich gut merken konnte und mit denen man teilweise gut mitfühlen konnte. Ich mochte das erste Drittel des Buches sehr gern und dann hat es immer mehr abgebaut, auch wenn mal immer wieder Szenen waren die mir gefallen haben, bin ich froh es beendet zu haben und werd es nicht wieder lesen :) _____________________ Meine Lieblingsszene?: ACHTUNG ‼️ SPOILER, lesen auf eigene Gefahr ⚠️ Da entscheide ich mich wohl für die Abschlussfeier von Jonnys Privatunterrichts Schüler Chuck und alles drumherum. Heute gibts zum #kingdienstag die Rezension zum zweiten Buch des „Doppelromans“, den King und sein Pseudonym Richard Bachman im Jahr 1996 herausgebracht haben: „Regulator“ Ich habe es in der Rezi von „Desperation“ letzte Woche schon anklingen lassen. „Regulator“ ist der für mich schwächste Part - und das mit Abstand. Oder um es anders auszudrücken: Um Gottes Willen, was war das denn Bitteschön😅. Tut mir leid, aber hier konnte selbst David Nathan als Sprecher des Hörbuchs nicht mehr viel retten. Ich dachte ja, es wäre eine gute Idee, gleich nach „Desperation“ die Zwilling zu lesen/zu hören. Denkste! Mich hat es extrem verwirrt, dass jede Figur aus „Desperation“ in völlig anderer Funktion und mit anderem Charakter auftritt😅. Apropos Verwirrung: die relativ flache, und teils alberne Story - die eigentlich nur ein langer Shootout ist - reicht in Sachen Setting und Atmosphäre nicht an „Desperation“ heran. Mich hat hier nichts mitgerissen. Am besten haben mir noch die Einschübe zwischen den Kapiteln gefallen, die mal als Drehbuch, mal als Zeitungsartikel, mal als Tagebuch gestaltet sind. So wird wenigstens ab und zu Spannung erzeugt, sodass man zumindest doch wissen will, wie die Story ausgeht. Ich war enttäuscht! 📚RESEÑA📖❤️ "Misery" de Stephen King. Publicado en el año 1987. ◇ ♡ ◇ 📖SINOPSIS: Paul Sheldon es un escritor popular, que escribe las novelas románticas de una saga llamada "Misery Chastain". En una tormenta de nieve, Paul sufre un accidente de vehículo y se rompe las piernas. Por desgracia para nuestro protagonista, fue rescatado por una enfermera llamada Annie Wilkes y que ahora, con las piernas rotas en una cama, depende absolutamente de ella. El problema es que ella misma se declara su fan número 1, y está enferma de la cabeza. ♡ 🔍OPINIÓN: Creo que es uno de los mejores libros de terror que he leído en mi vida. La angustia, el dolor, la impotencia que genera Stephen King con esta obra, es absolutamente increíble y digna de experimentar y aplaudir. Es muy original. ♡ Es de esas historias que van subiendo en tensión cada vez más, y que casi no puedes creer lo que sucede en las últimas páginas. El título es perfecto, porque es un juego de palabras con la obra de Paul Sheldon y con la insoportable miseria que debe sufrir en casa de Annie Wilkes. A propósito de ella, me parece un personaje que se queda contigo para siempre. Pocas veces he visto o leído, a un personaje femenino que diera tanto miedo. Hay una secuencia a mitad del libro en donde descubrimos su pasado y todo lo que hizo; es espeluznante. Además, hay dos escenas extraordinarias y perturbadoras con respecto a Annie Wilkes, actuando como un verdadero monstruo de la naturaleza que no sería detenida por nada del mundo. ♡ Hay varios fragmentos que ahondan en la profesión del escritor, lo cual me ha encantado y es muy interesante para estudiar. ♡ En conclusión, me parece una obra memorable, intensa, muy perturbadora y escrita de forma magistral. Like most readers, I don’t like being told I can’t read something, hence the purchase of this used book. It contains four short novel and I can go to almost any bookstore and get three of them. The other one, Rage, has been taken out of publication and I believe understandably. A small bit of King lore: Stephen King published Rage as a standalone in 1977. It was then published in this collection in 1985. The plot centers around a high school shooting done by one of the students (back when this was published this was not common as it sadly is today). It was found after publishing the plot of the book resembled some actual shootings years later and for this reason King took it out of publication. In one of the actual shootings the book was found in the locker of the shooter. As a person who writes and fantasizes about being published, I can’t imagine sitting there and being told my novel was found in a killer’s possession and his act of killing resembled my story. I don’t view this as a banned book, I think it’s much more complicated than that, and I don’t fault Stephen King for taking it out of publication. But as I said above, I don’t like being told I can’t read something so I did spend the most money I’ve ever spent on a book to read, in this edition, 170 pages of a story I have been told isn’t even that good…. I have no regrets. I really enjoyed Rose Madder, Rosie McClendon is an excellent protagonist and Norman, of course, a terribly great antagonist!😱 I am impressed with how well King handled the domestic violence topic.
