I will dive into any and all variations or genres - including those classics we were forced to read in high school English. My ‘go to’ genre has typically been thrillers and/or crime fiction. Nos cuenta la historia de Effy ella es muy fanática de un escritor y cuando la familia de el arman un concurso para redecorar la casa de el, ella sabe que al estudiar arquitectura es ideal para ella, pero en la mansión se va a encontrar con un estudiante de literatura que duda de todo. Chicos la tensión que se vive durante todo el libro no es normal, literal que no van a querer que se termine pero a la vez van a querer saber la resolución y por lo menos yo no me la ví venir ni ahí. Es un libro bellísimo, por momentos muy poético, con mucho feminismo, sobretodo hacia el final. El tema de los Rivales, pocas veces lo ví tan bien desarrollado como acá, el momento en que ellos se conocen es absolutamente genial y les va a robar más de una risa. Lo más importante es lo adictivo que es, literal que no van a parar de leer. El desarrollo de la historia me encantó! Y los protagonistas son un mil. I was at the age where I wanted to read adult books because I wasn’t enjoying YA and I have no idea where to go. And I started with Beach Read and I haven’t slowed down since. We are following Daphne as she has moved in with Miles after their partners leave both of them for each other. Daphne has uprooted her life to move in with Peter as they are waiting for their wedding day. I love Emily Henry’s characters. Daphne is a librarian and I want to be a librarian. And I fall in love with every man she writes. I also appreciate that her books explore difficult topics the characters are going through. Not only do they provide shade on hot summer days, but they also produce the oxygen that we need to breathe. They purify the air and can help with floods. They give shelter to many species and they help heal the earth. Trees also communicate with each other. They will send nutrients to other injured trees to help them. Isn't that incredible? Everyone everywhere should be planting trees. The world needs more trees. Earth needs help and planting trees is a great way to help heal our Earth. This is a cornerstone thriller that created the unreliable narrative age. This one is a classic page-turner. Im on a mission this year to read the famous thrillers I haven’t read this year. When presented with a case of a missing husband & child, the mother’s plight tugs on Kit’s heartstrings. But, all is not as it seems. As Kit & Jackson unravel the mystery, they find more than they bargained for, putting lives in danger. Kit & Jackson are such a fantastic team. It was fun seeing their domestic life mixed in with solving crimes. Kit’s a terrible cook, but her sweet affection for her husband more than makes up for it. Their pet armadillo’s antics provide some funny, lighthearted moments. Bella’s an adorable one year old & I loved how Kit & Jackson compete to get her to say mama & papa. I also enjoyed the romance between Martha & Inspector Baggett & the quirky Mr. Catchpole & Harvey. The mystery was complex with several twists & turns. It kept me on the edge of my seat with an especially intense ending. It’s very much a Dickens-like story that doesn’t shy away from Society’s gritty aspects. Ich lese ja niemals die Klappentexte und hab mir einfach was anderes vorgestellt. Dieses Buch scheint allerdings auch ein recht beliebtes Buch zu sein, also war meine Vorfreude enorm hoch, aber ich sag’s euch wie es ist: „Es hat mich nicht wirklich überzeugt.“ Zu viel langatmiges politischen Zeug, Liebesgeschichte und Auf und Abs was Spannung anging. Immerhin gab es mal weniger Charakter die man sich gut merken konnte und mit denen man teilweise gut mitfühlen konnte. Ich mochte das erste Drittel des Buches sehr gern und dann hat es immer mehr abgebaut, auch wenn mal immer wieder Szenen waren die mir gefallen haben, bin ich froh es beendet zu haben und werd es nicht wieder lesen :) _____________________ Meine Lieblingsszene?: ACHTUNG ‼️ SPOILER, lesen auf eigene Gefahr ⚠️ Da entscheide ich mich wohl für die Abschlussfeier von Jonnys Privatunterrichts Schüler Chuck und alles drumherum. Dear Gods of Jade and Shadow, I absolutely love the way that Moreno-Garcia creates complex magical worlds that twist and turn. I don't know a lot about ancient Aztec or Mayan mythology, so I loved delving into this new world. Casiopea was a lot of fun to get to know and, as much as I hated him, Martin ended up being so much more than I thought. You are a deep, fantastical story full of ancient folklore and magic.

release day review Darling Girls Sally Hepworth Wild Meadows a place that was supposed to bring acceptence, safety and love but instead brought fear, trauma and dread. A place of nightmares. And now Jessica, Norah and Alicia must return OHHHHEMMMGEEE, Sally does it again. This is defenitly my new favorite Hepworth, hands down. It has darker, and grittier elements to it for sure. With immense intensity building with the turn of every page and flashbacks thrown in, there was no way I could look away. The plot is deep and heavy. And the way Hepworth put her mesmerizingly addictive spin on things was just fantastic. I just can't get over the way she does domestic. Its sooo good. They aren't sisters by blood, but by coincidence. Brought together by lack of family care and bound together by their traumas they faced together. This is trio I defenitly sympathized with and enjoyed seeing a deeper sight into their lives. And it was magnificently refreshing to see although they weren't biological siblings they still guarded and loved the others as if they were. Just go read it. I promise you won't be disappointed. Nightmare Girl by @authorgenavie Rate: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ ✨ I received this book as an ARC for my honest review✨ Thank you to @authorgenavie and @theauthor.agency for sending me this book📚 I loved that I was able to grab an ARC of this book from this newer author, and I can’t wait to read more of their work. Nightmare Girl had me hooked from the very beginning. It was like a roller coaster ride! The story has dips and turns while also mellowing out at times to throw you in another loop. The drop at the end made it impossible to put the book down. Lazarus may be morally gray, but he gave off major golden retriever vibes, and I loved every second of it. He reminds me of foreign men who talk about marriage after the first date😭😂. Lazarus had the perfect amount of sugar, spice, and everything nice, with an extra drop of crazy. Leighton’s personality irritated me when dealing with certain characters, i.e. Hallie. I understand Leighton was lacking in the friendship department, but girl, Hallie was a walking red flag. Loved that she would just sock people when they scared her, and I wish I had seen her grow into herself more. Lazarus and Leightons’ romance is mysterious and perfect. No matter how crazy Lazarus is, he will go to the ends of the earth to protect Leighton. The relationship is not what you would call traditional or normal, but it works for them. She is his light, while he is her darkness. Also, DADDY Lazarus is goals! В том возрасте мой книжный вкус ещё не был сформирован, да и любовь к книгам не была привита. Поэтому это была чуть ли не первая книга, которая мне понравилась. Потому что она соприкасалась с моими подростковыми чувствами. А то, как она написана, меня мало беспокоило. Стейс Крамер до сих пор пишет книги и её новая книга "Юность подарит первые шрамы" попала в мои лапки и была прочитана за короткое время. Меня удивил объем, но слог у автора лёгкий, поэтому первые сто страниц прошли незаметно. Из-за обилия диалогов и действий, во время чтения мне казалось, что я смотрю сериал. Впечатления о книге сугубо положительные, на удивление. Я принимаю все условности и спокойно слежу за развитием сюжета. Переживаю за героинь. Я удивлена, что спустя 10 лет мне всё ещё нравится эта автор, что я не переросла её книги. И мне интересно, как она будет развивать своё мастерство дальше.

Почему одни только смотрят, а другие открывают?.》 ㅤ ◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆*:◇:*:◆ ㅤ Желание прочесть эту книгу возникло из-за сравнения оной с "Тайной историей", но по факту это скорее "13 пп". Только тему самоYбийства так и не раскрыли. Книга представляет собой сборник историй от разных лиц, окружавших покончившего с собой героя. Мне лично больше запомнилась история Алёши, соседа по комнате. Юноша не справился с внутренним демоном, оказавшимся диагнозом ПРЛ. Но на погибшего Никиту по сути всем.. плевать. Кажется, что мать переживает, но была ли у неё искренняя любовь к сыну? Или это лишь желание иметь что-то своё, то, что не принадлежит её мужу? За родительскими ссорами Никита был второстепенным, Агния слишком погружена в собственную историю и вполне могла не заметить проблемы ребенка. Экспрессивный и современный слог автора не тяготит и время за чтением проходит незаметно. Бывало после главы я глубоко вздыхала и говорила "вау, это было хорошо". Да, хорошая история на осенний пасмурный день.
