🤍coup de cœur🤍 Friends, mes amours et cette chose terrible 🥃 • Quand j’ai appris l’existence de cette autobiographie, je savais de suite que j’allais l’acheter. C’était une évidence. Ma vie a toujours été dévouée à Friends, depuis que je suis née, et même avant. Jamais rien ne pourra changer ça. Chandler est devenu mon personnage préféré en grandissant, parce que le sarcasme et son histoire sont au-dessus de tout. Le mec qui n’arrive pas à s’engager, qui en a peur, qui veut reprendre à fumer mais veut aussi arrêter, qui se sert des blagues pour se protéger de tout… On comprend encore plus avec ce livre à quel point Matthew EST Chandler. Durant 10 ans, Matty n’a jamais joué un rôle, mais juste lui. Et pourtant, je pensais que Friends l’avait aidé, à passé au-dessus de ses addictions, de son mal-être. J’avais tout faux. Et pourtant, j’avais espoirs.🥃 • Je crois qu’un livre ne m’a jamais autant détruite. Bien sur que j’ai pleuré, plus que sur n’importe quel livre, plus que sur certains films. Je ne pensais pas découvrir autant de choses, restées quasiment toutes secrètes depuis de nombreuses années. Les rumeurs existent, mais je préfère les faits. J’ai trouvé ça dur de lire, mais surtout d’aller dans les pensées les plus intimes de Matty. Et quelle force il a eu d’écrire ce livre. Pour l’apaiser de toutes ces choses, je pense. Pour tourner la page de toutes ces années, je pense. Mais surtout pour constater qu’il est toujours en vie, après avoir frôlé la mort tant de fois, et pour se donner le courage de continuer de ce côté sans retombé tout en bas. Matthew utilise énormément l’auto dérision sur son état, sur son cas, comme il l’a toujours fait. Nous n’avons pas l’impression d’entrer dans la tête d’un inconnu lorsque l’on connaît Chandler depuis des années. Hii 💌 𝐑 𝐄 𝐙 𝐄 𝐍 𝐒 𝐈 𝐎 𝐍 Jenseits der Magie - Tom Felton Für jeden Potterhead ein Muss! 🤍 Mich konnte das Buch von Tom Felton so in seinen Bann ziehen und überzeugen! Es war so interessant, Einblicke von seiner Seite zu lesen. Wie das alles angefangen hat, wie es dazu kam, dass er bei Harry Potter die Rolle von Draco bekommen hat und und und. Ich fand das einfach so interessant und mir hat das wirklich richtig gut gefallen! Auch die Schattenseiten vom Schauspiel. Tom gibt uns in dem Buch auch einen Einblick in sein Leben, wo es nicht ganz so rosig war und da sind mir teilweise echt die Tränen gekommen. 🥺 Hätte ihn am liebsten in den Arm genommen und geknuddelt 🫂💕 Das Buch hatte aber auch einfach so wahnsinnig viele humorvolle Stellen, dass ich mit lachen kaum noch aufhören konnte. Ein kleiner Bengel unser Tom 🤭 Wenn man das Buch liest, liebt man ihn einfach noch mehr. Auch diese Bilder von ihm und anderen, die in das Buch mit reingenommen wurden, finde ich so unglaublich schön. Als würde man sich ein Fotoalbum ansehen 🥹🤍 Man fühlt sich plötzlich mit Tom verbunden. Es war auch so schön zu lesen, wie die anderen Schauspieler so waren... außerhalb ihrer Rollen. Selbst die Brüder von Tom sind mir unglaublich sympathisch. 🤭 Für mich ist dieses Buch ein absolutes Highlight und ich bereue es, das Buch nicht schon eher gelesen zu haben. ✨WHY DID YOU STAY? REVIEW✨ Oh my god this book. I’d see so many stunning reviews for this when it was still fairly fresh and boy did it live up to my expectations. Do you remember back in 2018 when that long haired comedian was caught having a snog with his Strictly Come Dancing pro partner, the incredibly intimidating Katya? Well Rebecca does because it was on her 32nd birthday and the long haired comedian was her long term boyfriend. This book is so funny, so brilliant and yet also heart wrenchingly sad that I truly cannot stop thinking about it weeks on. If you like memoirs or stories about the trials and tribulations that come with being a woman around men being the worst, then you’ll love this book. It’s definitely one of the best memoirs I’ve read over the past couple of years.

Book 16: #sidesplitter by #philwang. So this is one of my #shelterboxbookclub reads. I didn't vote for it initially, but I'm really glad that it got picked! This is a sort-of autobiography slash observational essay about being Phil Wang - a comedian from both #malaysia and #britain. It's honestly really funny. I mainly read it on my lunch breaks at work and was probably snorting into my minestrone in a very distracting fashion. Wang riffs on a number of topics, some more serious than others, and manages to pose some thought-provoking questions. I didn't fully agree on his take on cultural misappropriation (his take was just don't be rude, but I'm more of the get an explicit ok first), but it still made me think. And laugh. Also there were some really lovely insights into Malaysia, which is a country I've (rudely) not thought much about. Perhaps if you're not British you'd also learn a bit about the UK. You'd certainly learn about British breakfast and desserts, which I definitely agree with his take on! Anyway, a good laugh, interesting topics, a whole chapter on food - what more could you want? 👋🏼There are two things I'd love your help with👋🏼 As most of you know, I'm about to finish writing my SECOND BOOK 🙊 And while I'm doing that...I've been READING out the chapters from my FIRST BOOK on YouTube. It's actually been bizarrely helpful & a veeeeery different experience to just reading them out to myself. Here's what I'd like help with... I'd really like to give each chapter a TITLE for when I republish the FIRST BOOK ALONGSIDE THE SECOND BOOK. But as you'll see if you watch the YouTube chapters (or read the book yourself), there's A LOT squeezed into each chapter 🙈 So having you suggest something would really really help since it's hard for me to know what resonates the most. Of course, I could just write the years that the chapter covers...or the country...but ideally I'd like to have something more unique. Especially since that means that it won't be as easy for someone to just flick to the chapter they think they might be mentioned in 😄 And then the second thing I'd love help with is the blurb on the back of the book. I purchased Melanie C’s autobiography Who I Am (or the Sporty One in America) on its release but it has taken me a while to get around to reading it. Now that I have, I wish I had a long time ago! It’s a really beautiful book and so inspiring. I’m a massive fan of the spice girls and I guess I was a bit worried that ‘looking behind the curtain’ may spoil it for me but it’s just so clear how much love and respect Melanie has for that time and the girls and has been through a big journey to be who she is now. I can’t recommend it enough. Also, I love that the chapters are named after Spice Girls and solo song titles!!! 4/5 ⭐️’s #imgladmymomdied is a dark and humorous autobiography by #jennettemccurdy . TBH this is a tough read. If it wasn’t for @jennettemccurdy ‘s ability to find the humor in the darkest of times, this would be an impossible read. This book has a lot of parallels to @t22felton most recent autobiography - growing up in the public eye, batting personal demons, and working in Hollywood. I love how Jennette is so honest and open about her experiences with her mom, her ED and working in the industry. I was fixated on applying for a creative research position in Finland recently and became obsessively mono-focused on preparations for a presentation after I was shortlisted for interview. When the day arrived I was so worked up that I could not be present, adaptable from moment to moment. I was a stiff robot, sluggish, in a state of semi paralysis. Brain fog. Hyper self-conscious. While I didn't perform optimally, I feel like this was a valuable lesson in non-attachment to outcomes. My yoga teacher Brent Laffoon preaches a useful mantra. “This is a gift". That's what I'm going to take from the situation- it was a gift of learning and preparation for the next interview, and more generally, something flagged for my self to sit with. #art #drawing #comic #autobiography #nerves #confidence

As I’m finishing up my current reads I wanna talk about my first COMPLETE read of this year. I was wandering around the public library and found Elliot Page’s memoir and I was like YES give me. I remember seeing him in a lot in movies during my childhood and I was a huge fan of Umbrella Academy when it first came out. I HIGHLY recommend this book! (PS don’t judge the fact it took a long time to read I’m a busy bee) (PPS… totally ignore me spelling memoir wrong. Canva didn’t let me know :/)
