✍🏻 BOOKSTA REVIEW WEEK ✍🏻 I'm excited to participate in another #bookstareviewweek! A few weeks ago, before they announced it, I got caught up on a lot of reviews, but I still have at least three books to review. Will you be joining?

📚📚 BOOK REVIEW 📚📚 This is the kind of book I want when I read a thriller. I want something that completely surprises me, one where I can’t guess what is going to happen till the very end 💥 🀯 I honestly went into this domestic thriller completely blind and I think it’s the best way to go about your reading experience. Just know that it is a story that will take you for a wild ride.🎢 You will never know who is telling the truth and who is not, and in this case it’s an entirely good thing because it builds suspense towards some gasping reveals.😳😱🫢 . . . ABOUT THE BOOK : Simon and Vicky couldn’t seem more a wealthy Chicago couple with a stable, if unexciting, marriage. But with these two... absolutely nothing is what it seems. When a beautiful socialite is found hanging in a mansion in a nearby suburb, Simon and Vicky’s complex web of secrets begins to unravel. A whirlwind affair. A twenty-million-dollar trust fund about to come due. A decades-long grudge and an obsession with revenge. Both Vicky and Simon are liars—but just who exactly is conning who? Prepare to question everything you think you know in this wickedly clever novel of greed, revenge, obsession—and quite possibly the perfect murder.” . . . . . . My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #booklover #bookrecommendations #bookreviews #bookreviewersofinstagram #thrillerbooks #thrillerreads #suspensethriller #plottwistedit #domesticthrillerbook #psychlogicalthriller #reading #reviewathon #lovebooks #lookcloser #davidellis #bookaddict #readersgonnaread #murder #mystery #drama #mustreadbooks #mustread #jawdropping #readit

I thought this book was super fun. Felt like I was on vacation with the characters. Enjoyed the fake dating premise that turned into actual dating. Not the biggest fan of the forced proximity but I feel like it did work with the storyline. I vacation vibes were great and super cute. Also not the greatest fan of how the interview for a female gamer went initially even though I understand that that kind of thing probably still happens it was kinda icky to still see it portrayed that way. However by the ending it all works out for the better which I think is a big point of the main characters story. Just thought there could have been a better way to portray it. Overall great read nice pace. I’ve now read both her books and look forward to more. Thanks to NetGalley for the Digital ARC All opinions are my own. Thanks to Harper Perennial as well.

🧚 Psycho Fae 🧚 By @jasminemasbooks ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Psycho Fae is the 2nd book in the Cruel Shifterverse and it is just as packed full of action as book 1. More emotionally unstable FMCs, rude ass Omegas that actually want to be loved and more alphaholes. I ate this book up. Sadie’s dramatics are amazing and so relatable and she definitely needs therapy after everything in this book. Jax, Cobra and Asher are just as alpha hole as ever! #bookish #bookreview #reviewathon #omegaverse #fantasy #romantasy #fae #faecore #shifter #knotting #kindle #irishbooktok #irishbookstagram #bookstagrammer #anpostbookclub #kindleunlimitedbooks #kindleunlimitedromance #newseries

2/14/2024, 1:45:43 PM

Book of the week! Literally, because that’s how many days it took me to finish her 😖😂 also swipe to see my nails with a little open book on the ring finger 😭 I can’t get over it. Full review here and in stories ⬇⬇ 4.5 ⭐ #bookreview Based off feelings to avoid any spoilers: This book was a fun and typical SJM fantasy, definitely high stakes. I think my only complaint was how long it was. I feel like it could have been roughly 100 pages or so shorter. There were also a few info dump convos disguised as dialogue throughout the book that felt like a chore to get through. My moods varied throughout; I finished the first 200 pages in a day, then read the next 300 pages over 5-6 days, and then the last 300+ pages in a day. The last 200 pages FLEW by because you know how she does it. Storyline wise, I more or less loved everyone’s POV. Wasn’t obsessed with Ithan’s POV for some reason but I really enjoyed everyone else. My favorite thing about the book was the crossover, without giving too much away. I also really, REALLY loved the ending and I cried twice. Can’t wait to talk about that one! I’m going to listen to the audiobook too at some point because I ordered it.

#BookstaReviewWeek ✒Just like a readathon but with writing reviews instead.😉😎 This #reviewathon is organised by Leighellen @mommaleighellensbooknook and Jennifer @jm_bibliolater  And now it also has its own account: @bookstareviewweek It kicked off on the 29th of Jan and will last until Sunday night. One week - as many reviews as we can write. And the best part of it all, it doesn't feel like a chore.😉😎 📚Because we have no set limit to the number of reviews we write. 📚Because we are part of totally awesome feel good chat groups. And perhaps the best part of it all: 📚Because this whole Review week is organised in such a manner that it gives you a perfect push to get reviewing without becoming overwhelming. And we even get to win prizes!!! One entry per review.😉😎 This is just the perfect thing to get me back into the reviewing trenches. Because I lost track of the number of books that I've recently read but didn't get to review!🙈 📚I should have posted a bookstack today with the reviews I'm hoping to write, but I decided against it. Just like last time. 📚No set TBR and no Must Review titles for me.❌ 📚I'll just review as many books as I can starting from today with 1 review a day as the target. 💪 📚Apart from that, we'll just have to see.🀩 So today I give you my #quillmadeofbooks instead of the 'Books-to-review' pic. A repost of last year's #makeitoutofbooks pic for this challenge. Because it's been a while since I did one of these and I needed a reminder. That 📚This is what I love doing.❀ 📚Being in a wonderful bookish community and chatting with other lovely Bookstagrammers out here. 📚Reviewing because I WANT TO and making bookish pics that are simply ME. Perhaps not as great, or pretty or sparkly as others out there, but quirky and different, just like ME.😍 ♥Hugs and light everyone And be kind.😘 📚📚♥📚📚 📚QOTD: What's one thing that you love doing? Apart from reading or course.😉😎 📚AOTD: I love doing glass painting and making puzzles.😍

*ARC REVIEW* *Thank you to @netgalley and @macmillan.audio for the arc copy in exchange for my honest review.* This book follows two twin sisters. One of the sisters was in an accident and suffers from amnesia. She relies on the other sister to help fill in the blanks of their lives. However, after a while, she’s suspicious that her sister is lying to her about their past and sets out on her own for answers. The things she starts to uncover are worse than she could have imagined. Right off the bat, this book started out interesting. There is immediately an accident and it grabs your attention right away. I saw this book had to do with twins and I am always one who hopes for the good vs bad twin trope so I had to check it out. It does give off the vibes of good vs bad twin for a while, but it doesn’t take long for you to use context clues and figure out maybe she’s trying to hide the bad stuff from the sister to protect her. I really liked the cover of this book, the main reason I requested it, so I was just waiting to find out how the rabbits related to the book, and I was not disappointed. I haven’t read a lot of books that have cults so this was interesting to me. I now know that I want to find a book centered around cults to dig more into that topic. The characters were all pretty likeable in my opinion. I felt like we were on a journey with the twin with amnesia. The other twin felt overbearing at times, but understandable because she almost lost her sister. You do get two timelines in this book. It will flip-flop between before and after the accident so that you can get some background info as the book progresses. This was a very well-done and unique psychological thriller. This is one that I would recommend to anyone wanting a good thriller or cult book. #arcreview #bookreview #thriller #thrillerbook #bookreviewer #4starread #whereyouend #abbottkahler #cultfiction #psychologicalthriller #arc #arcreader #reviewathon #earlyreview #audiobook #reader #book #books #booksbooksbooks #bookstagram #bookcommunity #booktok #bookish #bookishlife

which horror movie should I review next? 👻 this was a pretty good watch! I think the story could’ve been done a little better and the acting was a little clunky in places, but it’s a visually intriguing film with a dark, sad plot and some genuinely frightening moments. really do pay attention to the CWs and perhaps look up more detailed ones- the dark themes are HEAVY and very present, they show some gory stuff quite explicit. I do recommend the film but only if you’re in the right headspace! If you’ve seen it/you watch it now, comment what you think as I’d love to hear :) • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • { IMAGE DESCRIPTION } This is a plain pink text slide with brown text and a movie cover showing the word ‘eerie’ with three young women and a nun standing over them. The review reads: 31 days of horror - @wildflowerbrew spooky mini movie reviews <3 movie: eerie (2018) genre: paranormal horror director: mikhail red CW: g0re, SH, big focus on suic1de, violence, death, religious trauma summary: a counsellor tries to solve a mysterious death at a catholic school my thoughts: a deeply sad and dark film, some really tense moments and good scares! a heavy watch but worth it for fans of paranormal religious films There is a 3.5/5 rating at the bottom.

when in rome by sarah adams 3/5 ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ what a charming contemporary spin on the film roman holiday! the epigraph (“i was born with an enormous need for affection, and a terrible need to give it.”) perfectly set the tone for this cute and cozy small town love story. the plot was satisfyingly well-paced, heartwarming, and tender; i could NOT stop smiling at the fluffy writing and witty banter. this was such a delight! and yes, behind every hot girl is an obsession with audrey hepburn and scrabble.

Song of Trinity ⭐⭐⭐⭐ @authorvadhan "I did not fight for the kingdom. I have no use for them. I fought for a simple principle of inheritance. The first son of the first son ascends the throne.” Song of Trinity by Vadhan unfolds in the aftermath of the epic battle of Mahabharata, in an epic story of colossal proportions. The story takes an interesting take when we head towards end of the world. Kali the god of Kaliyug plots his revenge from an impenetrable prison. The writing style is commendable The prose flows smoothly and effortlessly The narrative moves at a brisk pace, keeping readers engaged from the very first page to the last. The plot and character building is just beautifully done. There were a number of jump, black holes, bloodlines, etc that was written so well and not at all confusing but rather it made the story gripping and even better for fantasy/mythology readers. Every scene has logic behind it which made me continue reading without hesitation. This sure is a page turner. And the scene from the prison was mind boggling. For those seeking an immersive journey into a mythical world filled with gods and mortals, Song of the Trinity should be your next pick. Happy reading 💙 . . . #booktwt #booksbooksbooks #bookstagram #bookishlove #bookstore #bookstagrammer #booksforlife #bookreviews #reviewathon #songoftrinity #lifeinsidebooks #bookstack

georgie, all along by kate clayborn ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ 3/5 i read this a few months ago, but what a cute story! i adored these characters with my whole heart. it was a pleasure to witness such beautifully developed relationships and vulnerably based individual growth. georgie was an eccentric and sweet girl. i found myself relating to her lostness and wanting to go back and do things she never got to do. levi was the exemplary grumpy guy i grew to love once he started opening up. and hank!!! i am arguably hank’s biggest fan. this book thoroughly conveyed the rawness of self discovery, the power of letting people in, and was delightfully romantic.

Arc review: Title: The wrong wife Author: L. Steele Genre: Contemporary romance Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 Knight and Penny really had an effect on me since I read this book. This book was one hell of a rollercoaster ride which I ate it all up. knight is our morally grey billionaire and his trauma makes you cry and his villain origin story is like the most reasonable one. His development by the end and the twist and what he did still gives me goosebumps and i'm so proud of him cause it feels like i personally know him by this point. This book has a number of trigger warnings so please read them before going all in. Also it has like the best number of tropes, its a billionaire romance, workplace romance, best friend's brother, boss and employee relationship, fake marriage, forced proximity, bdsm and enemies to lovers. yeah it does have it all. The spice was the best i've ever read of, it beats fifty shades of grey. it has the wildest amount of sm*t i ever read. Every scene left me in awe, shock and I'm not the same person as before I read this book. Their chemistry is way off charts, also having a little more emotional connection from the starting would be a plus point. If you still dint read it go read it right away. p.s: I'm totally looking at clothespins in a different way after this book tho. #workplaceromance #bossemployee #fakemarriage #contemporaryromance #mafia #soldier #bdsmcommunity #soldierlife #knight #penny #arc #arcreviewer #reviewathon #bookblogger #bookreviewer #valentinepr #fillingmybookshelf #greyspromo #advancedreaderscopy #bookishlove #bookinstagram #bookshelf #tbr #toberead #tobereadpile #lsteele #lsteeleauthor #thewrongwife

🫏 Book Review 🐑 Said No One Ever by Stephanie Eding Pub Date: 04/04/23 (Swipe for complete synopsis.) Thank you @netgalley and @sourcebookscasa for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. We are in the final hours on the final day of BookstaReview Week. This will be the last review I’m posting for this event. I’m not 100% caught up, but I’m damn close! Thank you @jm_bibliolater and @mommaleighellensbooknook for hosting again! ‹This book has it all! Fresh starts, tiny house Air BNB, elderly pranksters, cheeky farm animals, and so much more! I was sold the moment the Old English Bulldog named Hilda was introduced in the very beginning!! Eding describes the bulldogs antics to a tee, and it was such a comical relief right out the gate. This book has all of my favorite tropes: grumpy sunshine, enemies to friends to lovers, and fake dating! The characters are so lovable (aside from both main characters overbearing mothers - ugh!). There's a spicy old lady and her grumpy grandson. There's a strong woman trying to find her way through recent life changes and navigate setting boundaries with her family. In addition to the rambunctious bulldog, there's a couple of "not-so-smart" sheep and a single "way-too-smart-for-his-own-good" donkey! While one of the overbearing mothers did redeem herself in the end, the reader doesn't see much of what happens with the other one. I think that is one thing missing from this narrative. The only other thing I would have liked more of is the romance between the two main characters. This was a closed door romance (which is more than fine), but I didn't really feel their chemistry either. Overall, I loved this book. I want to frame the cover and put it on my bookshelf! I would recommend this one to many of my fellow readers. What book has a cover you’d hang as art in your home? 🏷 #bookstareviewweek #reviewathon #stephanieeding #saidnooneever #recommendedreading #recommendedbook #netgalley #netgalleyreads #netgalleyreview #netgalleyreviewer #honestreview #honestreviews #honestreviewer #advancereaderscopy #advancedreaderscopy #advancedreadercopy #arc #grumpysunshine #enemiestoloversbooks

🇩🇪 Book Review 🇫🇷 The Room on Rue Amelie by Kristin Harmel Pub Date: 03/27/2018 (Swipe for synopsis.) We are in the final hours on the last day of BookstaReview Week. Thank you again to @jm_bibliolater and @mommaleighellensbooknook for hosting such a motivating event! This is another review I am posting months after reading it. Thankfully, I took some notes while listening so I was able to get a small blurb written up. The audio was very well done! The book starts out one way that leads you to believe it will end a certain way and then on the last like 10 pages you realize that was absolutely wrong and it’s something totally different. 😭 I never saw it coming, and it gutted me! My heart dropped into my stomach. It was beautifully done, but just heartbreakingly sad. The biggest thing to take away from this review is that while I don't remember all the details, I do know it is a well written story with a beautiful narration. If there’s one thing I’ve learned during this #reviewathon, it’s that I need to start posting my reviews more timely. But, if I don’t, I at least need to make sure I have notes to refer to. This book took me a couple tries to get into, but once it got going I was definitely curious to see how it would all play out, especially with a murder and a possible tie to WWII. Gabriel is a no-nonsense ex-cop turned private investigator who finds himself investigating the death of Sanne Melgaard. Everyone believes Yousef Ahmed, an Iraqi Muslim refugee, is guilty. Everyone except Gabriel’s ex-girlfriend, and he can’t tell her no. This story takes so many turns with several interesting characters. The path to the true killer makes for an interesting read. The setting, Denmark, is a place I want to visit and reading a book set there was such a nice change. This is the first in a new series and I am definitely curious to see where the author takes Gabriel next. Thank you to William Morrow via Bibliolifestyle for the copy of this book. This is my first Mitch Albom book and I am wondering what took me so long to read his writing. In this story, a lifeboat is adrift after an explosion. A stranger appears in the boat when asked who he is, he responds “I am the Lord.” What follows is the story of this group’s struggle to survive, and also their responses to the possibility that the Lord responded to their cry for help. What a journey this book was. The story alternates between the people on the lifeboat, through the eyes of Benji, who is writing, the news coverage of the explosion, and the discovery of the empty lifeboat. As a person with faith, I loved this book. I loved the response to finding out the Lord was in the boat, I loved getting to know the characters. I also often pondered throughout the story how I would react if I was one of the people on the lifeboat. Thank you to Harper Collins for the copy of this book. May 27, 2023 WOW! What a fantastic novel. This is based on the true story of the Richmond Theater fire, which I had never heard about. Set in 1811, when many things were going on in our nation. One tragedy, one night, and a community is forever changed, it is divided. The story alternates between Sally, Cecile, Jack, and Gilbert. We see how their choices affect so many around them. We see the disparity in race and class and how blame is easily and in some cases willingly placed where it absolutely shouldn’t be. The search for truth, for protection, for change is woven throughout this novel and there are things I liked about each of the characters who tell the story and how they added to overall picture of what happened that night and in the days that followed. This story was a unique addition to the historical fiction genre and I learned so much about an even I knew nothing about. I highly recommend this book to fans of the genre, fans of history, fans of books that grab you and don’t let go until the end. After losing my dad in 2021, I am drawn to memoirs that deal with grief, especially loss of a parent. This book covered that and so much more, and I am so glad I read it. Nicole Chung was adopted at a young age. As she gets older she begins to try to understand her parents, their lives, and her place in the world as someone who did not grow up with a lot. She begins to understand how her parents lack of money has impacted their health and healthcare. She begins to see the things they went without to take care of her. Nicole cannot wait to go to college and get out on her own. As often happens when we grow up and move out, we see things through a different lense. What follows is the story of her father’s and then her mother’s battle with serious illness which eventually leads to their deaths. Had they had access to better care, access to benefits sooner, so much could have been different. We also get a look at the guilt Nicole carries which also spoke to me. Guilt after losing a loved one is common and hard. We also get to follow Nicole’s journey to make peace within herself, which is a powerful journey. I highly recommend this book for so many reasons. The exploration of grief, different cultures, disparity in economic levels, and so much more is worth the read. Thank you to Ecco via Bibliolifestyle for the copy of this book. What a great story, especially for fans of Tiffany lamps or stained glass! I knew about the lamps, but I had no idea the amount of stained glass Tiffany produced or the process. That part, especially cutting and choosing the colors fascinated me so much. Then there are the Tiffany girls, women working in a time and in an industry women didn’t usually work in. I loved this aspect of the story. These women were talented, courageous, and determined to do a good job. Emilie, Grace, and Clara are just a few of the women in this story and they each have their own secrets. As their secrets are revealed and each faces their challenges head on, they will pull together in ways even they wouldn’t have expected in the beginning. I recommend this book for fans of historical fiction, stories about strong women, and also fans of art. I spent an unreasonable amount of time looking at photos of all of the creations done by Tiffany after finishing this book. Thank you to William Morrow via Bibliolifestyle for the finished copy of this book. 💍 Book Review 💍 After I Do by Taylor Jenkins Reid Pub Date: 07/01/2014 (Swipe for synopsis.) BookstaReview Week is quickly coming to a close. Today is day 6! It’s time to really crush those final reviews and get caught up! A big shout out to @jm_bibliolater and @mommaleighellensbooknook for hosting and offering amazing giveaways! After I Do felt like it could have been the start of my own personal memoir. I found so many pieces of the main characters’ relationship resembled the rise and fall of one of my own. I listened to this on audio. Of course the narration was incredible, as it is done by the amazing Julia Whelan. I binge listened over the course of two days. I think the ending was a little too “happily ever after” for the level of "real life feel" this story had. I guess the better way to explain that is the ending didn't seem realistic to what was going on throughout the story. It just seemed too far fetched. Per normal TJR standards, it was extremely well written! The ending was a beautiful way to round off a tough narrative so my thoughts are not really any kind of complaint. TJR can do no wrong, and here she delivers another 5 star read! How do you feel about HEA’s (happily ever after’s) that feel too good to be true when the overall content is heavy? Are you jaded like me? 😆 🏷 #bookstareviewweek #reviewathon # #recommendedreading #taylorjenkinsreid #tjr #afterido #recommendedbooks #autobuyauthor #juliawhelan #juliawhelanaudiobook #audiobooknarrator #audiobooklove #audiobooksofinstagram #audiobookstagram #honestreview #fivestarread #fivestarstories

Publishing June 20. This book started off strong. A young family buying a house in a neighborhood that had secrets. I was intrigued by the fixer-upper aspect and wanted to see how they would settle into the neighborhood. What followed was pages and pages with characters I at one time or another wanted to have a talk with so they could snap out of it. There is very little if anything to like about the people in this book. They are all up to something. The twists come close to the end of the book, and I have to admit I didn’t see them coming. I do wish they would have come earlier so maybe the characters and their actions would have made more sense. No one was happy in this book! Are you planning to read this book? If so, please share your opinions. Maybe I missed something. Thank you to St. Martin’s Press for the copy of this book. PUB WEEK REVIEW: loved returning to Spice Isle Bakery with Lyndsay and the rest of the Murray family. Their relationships with each other, the culture, the food. This is only the second book in the series and I enjoy them so much. In this one, the Murray family is once again at the center of an investigation when a retirement party goes south. Emily Smith begins convulsing at the table shortly after beginning to eat and there are so many possible suspects, including Lyndsay’s mom who used to work with Emily. This family has each other’s backs always. They even get themselves in trouble trying to protect each other. The banter, especially with Lyndsay’s grandmother is one of my favorite parts of this family. I am definitely looking forward to the next in the series. 🎧 Book Review 🎧 Thank You for Listening by Julia Whelan Pub Date: 08/02/22 (Swipe for Synopsis) Today is day 5 of #bookstareviewweek hosted by @jm_bibliolater and @mommaleighellensbooknook. I’ve enjoyed catching up on my reviews and reading all of the others. My TBR continues to grow! 😆 I do wish I had written this review right after reading the book, through. I loved the story so much, and yet I'm having trouble remembering some of the specific details. I know without a shadow of a doubt that the audio was brilliant! That is part of what made this story such a unique experience. With this story, Julia Whelan proves not only is she a jaw dropping narrator, but she is the same as an author as well. I loved the characters and the mass number of tropes sprinkled throughout the story. I do remember a couple of heartbreaking scenes between the FMC and her grandmother (who begins to show severe stages of dementia). The experience is very much "on-page" so if that is a trigger for you, tread lightly. There is a specific reveal at the end that I loved so much!! It was just beyond perfect! I will most definitely re-read (or re-listen) this one at some point in the near future. How do you handle your reviews? Do you take notes while you read so you remember details? Do you post reviews right away? What is the magic equation for staying caught up? Does anyone know? 😜 🏷 #bookstareviewweek #reviewathon # #recommendedreading #recommendedbooks #autobuyauthor #juliawhelan #juliawhelanaudiobook #audiobooknarrator #audiobooklove #audiobooksofinstagram #audiobookstagram #honestreview #fivestarread #fivestarstories

I’m going to be very honest and say that at first I wasn’t at all sure about this book. I did keep reading and I am glad I did. This book is unlike anything I have read and the more I think about it the more things I realize I liked. It’s so unlike anything I have ever read and I definitely want to read the author’s next book. Ess wakes up and has no idea who she is, where she is for what happened. All she has is a note basically telling her what not to do and to just live her life. What follows is Ess’s search for answers and also learning who she is and wants to be. It was so interesting realizing she had some knowledge, for example how to sail, but no recollection of learning it. In the background of this story and also playing a major part is what has happened to our planet by the year 2038. So much of this could happen regarding areas being underwater and increased daily temperatures. The book being set in the future, but not so far that it seems out of reach was also interesting to me. The year 2038 is one most of us will live to see and we are already seeing things described in this book. This story is quite the journey with Ess. I found myself wondering what I would do in the same situation. I’m still not sure. Thank you to Sourcebooks Landmark for the copy of this book. Audiobook Review: I love this series! There is something special about Miracle Springs and these characters. This newest installment, Paper Cuts is a fantastic addition to the series and might just be one of my favorites. I love how Ellery gave the reader a reminder of each woman’s backstory. They have gotten so close since the first book, and they have grown so much too regarding their secrets. The weaving of the secrets into the story was so well done. I love that we got to meet Estella’s father. Between his past and Nora’s coming to the forefront in a big way, the ladies had their hands full getting to the bottom of the latest murders in Miracle Springs. Meeting Kelly and her son, Tucker, was wonderful and when her identity was revealed, I felt everything Nora felt. I really enjoyed seeing her and Grant’s story develop also. Having someone in my life on the Autism Spectrum, and having taught students in the past with Asperger’s, I loved the inclusion of Tucker in this story. Fans of this series will love this addition to the series and so will fans of cozy mysteries. I got to listen to the audiobook thanks to @tantoraudio and it was outstanding. Cris Dukehart did such a good bringing these characters to life. I read the other books in the series so it was so fun to compare the way I thought the characters would sound to the way they were done by the narrator. They became even more real after listening.Thank you @tantoraudio. (Pub Date - April 18, 2023) Based on an extraordinary true story and soon to be a major film produced by and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, The War Magician is the remarkable tale of the man who used the powers of illusion to fight the Nazis -- and created the most remarkable feat of legerdemain since the Trojan Horse. Today is also day 3 of #bookstareviewweek hosted by @jm_bibliolater and @mommaleighellensbooknook, so it’s the perfect time to let you all know how incredible this story really is! The War Magician is a fascinating read! It is fast paced with lots of historical detail. It is gripping! It is flat out amazing! You will not be able to put it down, so don’t miss out on this one. Wow, THE DROWNING was a FANTASTIC suspenseful thriller. @tj_author has written a gripping novel about a world she’s familiar with as a former flight attendant. Thank you @libro.fm for my copy of TJ Newman’s newest thriller, out May 30th. The audio is top notch and pulls you further into the intense storyline Newman has created. The Drowning follows the story of a downed commercial airline not long after it takes off outside of Hawaii. It follows the main characters Will Kent and his daughter, Shannon Kent as they fight for their lives with a handful of other passengers trying to escape the plane as it crashes into the ocean. When they have to make a decision to close the doors in order to save their lives, the story takes on a “part 2”ish vibe while the plane sinks to the ocean floor 55 meters below the surface. Enter Will’s soon-to-be-ex-wife, Chris and her team as they battle against time to save the surviving passengers while the leaders on the surface struggle to make decisions. The novel is more than just a thriller though, its about the pain of loss, the beauty of a life lived together, the ups and downs of life as the passengers reflect in the heat of the moment. It includes the wistful reminiscents of grief induced decisions and remorse. It is a fast-paced thriller that is pregnant with emotions and is just SO WELL DONE. If you enjoy thrillers I think you will really like this one, if you enjoy deep emotions, level-headed characters, and surprise pasts, you will also like this. Do you have any major fears? Be on the lookout for more reviews this week! I’m participating in #bookstareviewweek with @mommaleighellensbooknook & @jm_bibliolater !!

Review!! This book has some interesting information if it and even gave me ideas for my own battle with chronic illness. The inclusion of someone from the past similar to the author intrigued me. Reading about both accounts also made me view my own struggles in a new light. It’s so easy to feel alone when battling chronic illness. What I wasn’t expecting was the deep dive into politics that at times definitely lost me. The history was fascinating, but this book wasn’t exactly what I thought it would be given the description. I found myself frustrated with some of the author’s proposed solutions knowing that in other countries those solutions do not work as well as people would like them to. I definitely agree that things need to change here in America. The way things are regulated, the access to healthcare, the treatments only available to a small number of people because of the cost. There is definitely a lot to be learned in these pages. Thank you to Harper Wave via Bibliolifestyle for the copy of this book. I’m looking forward to participating every day and seeing all the amazing reviews out there. To kick us off, I’d like to share a pre-Booksta review, because @readwithrosemary has gorgeous blooming lilacs, and she graciously took this picture for me! Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly (Swipe for synopsis) I loved every single thing about this book! The author is an absolute genius, weaving the historical aspects of the story into a narrative based upon her research. The end result is a beautiful, heart wrenching, exquisite story that is wonderfully told throughout every page. I highly recommend this novel to all historical fiction fans! There are two other books in this series (Lost Roses and Sunflower Sisters) that I have not read yet, but I intend to change that by the end of the year. Martha also has a new release called The Golden Doves. It is not a part of this series, but it sounds equally amazing! I already have my copy and will be reading it ASAP as well! #BookstaReviewWeek ✒Just like a readathon but with writing reviews instead.😉😎 This #reviewathon is organised by Leighellen @mommaleighellensbooknook and Jennifer @jm_bibliolater  and it's the perfect opportunity for me to catch up with due reviews I kept putting off. Today is the day it kicks off and it will last until May 27. This is just the perfect thing to push me out of my Social Media slump and get me back into the reviewing trenches.  It's fun and a pleasure to be a part of. And it makes me happy.❀ 📚I should have posted a bookstack today with the reviews I'm hoping to write, but I decided against it. 📚No set TBR and no Must Review titles for me.❌ 📚I'll just review as many books as I can starting from today with 1 review a day as the target. 💪 📚Apart from that, we'll just have to see.🀩 That's why I went for this #quillmadeofbooks instead. My first #makeitoutofbooks pic after a very long time. And by making it, I found a little bit of my happy place again. 📚This is what I love doing.❀ 📚Being in a wonderful bookish community and chatting with other lovely Bookstagrammers out here. 📚Reviewing because I WANT TO and making bookish pics that are simply ME. Perhaps not as great, or pretty or sparkly as others out there, but quirky and different, just like ME.😍 ♥Hugs and light everyone And be kind.😘 📚📚♥📚📚 📚QOTD: What's the last thing that made you smile. 📚AOTD: This bookish pic I set up today.😍

**BOOK REVIEW** 4 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Florence Claybourne is 84 years old and has fallen in her assisted living home. While she waits on the floor for help to arrive, she tells a story of the recent happenings at the home and how they correlate to the past. This book is very well written with a lovable cast of characters. It has so many insightful quotes I almost ran out of sticky tabs to mark them. I believe it was a pretty accurate portrayal of aging and the complications that come with it, the choices you make in your life, and how you are so much more than the worst thing you’ve ever done. I found parts to be very difficult emotionally as there are themes of dementia and obviously assisted care living in the book. My only criticism is that it became repetitive and slow towards the middle of the book but it picked back up in the end. #bookreview #bibliophile #booksbooksbooks #bookrecommendations #bookreviewer #bookish #ratebooks #reviewathon #review #elsie

revieww ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 The velvet knife by Krishna Verma is an engrossing read. I found this book in my goodreads recommendation and the title was captivating, so I thought to give it a try and bought the book without even readin' the blurb. I believed that it would be mere crime-fiction with the hint of thriller but no, its so much more than just that. The story revolves around five friends who are living together in Mumbai for work purpose. Everything was okay until one murder happens and all four of them are suspected. And, suddenly another death and everyone of them are at risk. Want to know the reason behind the murder and who iss the real killer? read the book haha. Loved how the book starts with a poetry. The glamourous world created by the author was fantastic. The narrative of the book was perfect as it keeps the reader engaged till the end while creating suspense and tesnsion. The intense plot and unpredictable plot-twist at the end was incredible which made it page-turner. Overall, a must read for everyone who loves crime, thriller and bollywood as it gives the glimpse of darker side of showbiz. #bookstagram #book #books #bookrecommendations #bookreview #bookreader #reviewathon #review #bookreviewer #bookreviews #reviews #thevelvetknife #krishnaverma #thrillerbooks #thriller #thrillers #romancebooks #romance #mystery #fiction #fictionbooks #krishnavyukta

✹ Carrie Soto is Back ✹ I put off reading this book for a while because I thought “oh it’s just about tennis, tennis really isn’t my thing.” I should’ve known better! TJR can do no wrong, even if it IS about tennis. Carrie Soto is the world’s greatest tennis player
or is she? This novel is about so much more than tennis. It’s about strength, stubbornness, the double standard, misogyny, love, instinct, perception, personal turmoil, and just how far someone will go for greatness. This book got me in the feels, especially the focus on the love of a father. It’s a great, quick read. #qotd Did you play any sports growing up? 📢 Hello! I'm giving my first steps in the @netgalley world and thanks to NetGalley and @Bookouture I received a copy of The Doctors Wife. It looks like I'm in a domestic thriller streak lately after having just finished The Perfect Marriage. So, here's my review of The Doctor's Wife. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ I really enjoyed the way the narrators "acted" their reading. They were great! The dual POV in this book enables the reader to get to know better each character through their actions and thoughts. I truly enjoyed the possibility of having both perspectives. I really liked the village description at the beggining, it was really good to set an ambiance and to allow the reader to feel as a witness of the story. Besides, a little village with a beach and wonderful views is always nice to imagine. The mistery of what each character was planning had me listening non-stop to discover what would happen. I must admit that towards the ending there were some twists that felt unnecesary to me. I would have liked a few more details on the first two twists instead of extra twists. The pace was really captivating but towards the ending it all felt a little rushed. However, all in all I enjoyed the book. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for providing me a copy of this audiobook.

Book: A Court of Silver Flames Author: Sarah J. Maas Rating:⭐⭐ This book was by far the worst one in the series. It was incredibly slow at the beginning and insanely rushed at the end. The good parts of the book were rushed and didn’t fit into the depth Maas went in at the beginning of the book. I also did not like the change of narrator. The whole series was narrated by the main character and this book (the last book in the series) was narrated in the third person. The intimate parts were poorly written. I often found myself cringing. All in all the series was wrapped up nicely, but I wish there was more of a closing with the main character who Maas focused on throughout the series. #bookstagram #booktok #book #bookreview #reviewathon #readingjournal #readersofinstagram #readingvlog #readingchallenge

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done a review! But here we go! It’s been a mediocre reading month for me but here’s one i actually really liked! Thank god! 😅😅 This was surprising! Especially because my BFFs name is Sara Ellis.. (characters name is Sarah Ellis
and there’s another character named Sara) i got a kick out of that! This was a dark read and i loved the journey and the slow unravel of what Sara was all about and trying to figure out what happened to Sarah. I thought i had it figured out but i was so wrong. The twist was great! It’s gritty and has such dark topics. It’s layered and i couldn’t stop til i finished. Sarah’s POV was a bit juvenile at first but i think that was intentional. I was going to do two different posts for this book until I realized I had enjoyed the first so much I read the sequel immediately afterwards 😂 so I just decided to combine the two into one. S.K. Ali did an amazing job bringing Janna (and her family and friends) to life. Both books did a good job showing that everyone has flaws, and how some people can grow from these flaws and some, unfortunately, choose not to. Books: Saints and Misfts & Misfits in Love by S.K. Ali

𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 Omg what a suspenseful read!! I was at the edge of my seat rushing through this book because i needed to know what was going on!!! Where was jake! Was he dead?? And who do i trust???? There were so many times i said ok one more chapter
😅 who needs sleep. I loved the bond between Lily and Christian and he was such a great husband
but i did not trust Lily. 😬 There were so many points where i held my breathe for what was going to happen next. And then the twist and hit and I’m like oh sh@t!! Like 5 pages before it was revealed, i was like wait
 i know! So clever! Loved this book! Thanks so much @htpbooks for this early copy!! 🀩😍 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ————— What’s a book you just could not put down?? #fivestarread #htpinfluencer #justthenicestcouple #netgalley #thrillerthursday #marykubica #favreads #throwbookthursday #readingtime #bookreview #review #reviewathon #booksiread #booksirecommend #readthis #favauthor #favoriteauthor #bestread #bestreads #goodreads #bestbooks #bestbook #epicreads #pageturner #thrillerthots #suspensethriller #whodunit #mystery #goodbooks #goodbook

Review: If you could see the sun by Ann Liang ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 “𝑰'𝒅 𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒗𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒐 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒖𝒑 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒅” Synopsis: Alice Sun has always felt invisible at her elite Beijing international boarding school, where she’s the only scholarship student among China’s most rich and influential teens. But then she starts uncontrollably turning invisible—actually invisible. When her parents drop the news that they can no longer afford her tuition, even with the scholarship, Alice hatches a plan to monetize her strange new power—she’ll discover the scandalous secrets her classmates want to know, for a price. But as the tasks escalate from petty scandals to actual crimes, Alice must decide if it’s worth losing her conscience—or even her life. Thoughts: I LOVED this book. I mean it’s academic rivals to lovers in an elite boarding school so- It was such a fun easy to read book. I really like the writing style if the author too and how she developed Alice’s character throughout the book. The cover is literally so gorgeous too. Henry was my favourite character (no surprise there) AND THE FACT THAT HE’S A SWIFTIE??? The romance was slow burn BUT IT WAS LITERALLY SO CUTE. The plot was engaging if not slightly predictable, which was the only con in the book tbh. Alice was an amazing character and I loved to see her struggles and achievements throughout the book. Once again it’s a great debut novel and I don’t really read contemporaries or romance but this is an exception. . . . . QOTD: What’s your favourite academic rivals to lovers book? . . . . Reminders of Him Colleen Hoover ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I have read a few Colleen Hoover books now and what I love about them is how bingeable they are. I always find myself struggling to put them down as I need to find out what happens. Kenna has just been released from prison, she’s had a really hard time over the last few years after making some mistakes and we find out very early on that she is trying her hardest to get her daughter (Diem) back into her life. My favourite character in this has to be Ledger. He is put in a very difficult position and it’s interesting to see how it plays out, especially as you can see both sides of the story and you just want what’s best for Diem. My only real criticism of the book is the ending, without giving much away, it all suddenly seems too easy for people to change their opinions and it felt unrealistic, even though it was the perfect ending- I just think it was a bit too perfect and easy to wrap up. I read this as a beach read on holiday and devoured it whilst laying by the pool, however if you find books can make you emotional I’d probably recommend not to read in public!
