Lots of confusion and doubt. The mystery cleverly unfolds and ends with an absolute bang. Cliff-hanger - oh yes! I am now on the hunt for the sequel. "I’m classified as a Level 5 threat. Here's a pattern featuring the book clipart I showed you guys earlier! These are the kind of books I grew up reading- the classics, hardbound in a vintage format. Something about the old book smell and leather covers just intrigues me. I still love reading books this way to this day, though I have to be careful about the binding. How do you like your books? Hardback? Soft bound? Digital? I'm a sucker for my Nook, I still have it back from 2010, AND IT STILL WORKS PERFECTLY. That is where I am reading the Folk of the Air series currently.
What are you reading right now? Right now I am working my way through a YA series that I'm really enjoying- The Folk of the Air by Holly Black. Her writing is so lyrical and the worldbuilding is incredibly lush. I could literally paint anything from her books- it's that vivid. YA gets a bad rap at times but I still love it. This is a painting of one of my passions! Books! I have been a bibliophile since I was a little kid. This painting is actually a part of a clip art set if you would like to use it in some of your graphic design, or just to beautify your to-read list!

#theshining #review For a book written in 1977, I think it held up pretty well. Somehow I've gotten through my life without seeing the movie. I've seen clips, but not the entire thing. I've only read 1 King before, Dreamcatchers. I really liked it. I attempted to read The Dark Tower, but didn't get far. King seems to write paragraphs and paragraphs of description. I find myself skimming over to get to the next scene. I'm not sure when his writing style changed, but I didn't find it here. This is a 659 page book, (my edition), and I couldn't wait to pick it back up to see what happened next. There is some language in here that I didn't like. The character was talking to himself in parts, but I still didn't like that. You would think a novel written in 1977 would be past that kind of language, but here we are. Aside from that Hallorann was my favorite character. I connected with all the characters including the hotel. I've been to Oregon where the outside of hotel was filmed. I know they used a different one for inside, but either way it would look different to me now. I think this book did a great job with the wrap up. I would have liked to see a "double-tap" on the bad guys. I'm very interested in Doctor Sleep. It looked completely different in the movie trailer. I really enjoyed finding out about "the shining". I think my family has that too. I have come to a few conclusions after reading #allsystemsred #murderbotdiaries book one. 1- I love Murderbot. 2- I may be Muderbot. At 144 pages, these books are easy and awesome. I don't have book 2, so I'm skipping over to book 3. I think there are 4 diaries, then the novel #networkeffect comes out May 5th! The robot deciding if it has human feelings and watching soap operas is just the cutest. I joined @bookofthemonth #bookofthemonth #botm club this year. One of my qualifications for myself is I MUST read at least one of the books I pick per month. Why? Because I had a choice of 5. More than a normal subscription box. I don't have an excuse for receiving a book that I may not like. I was trying to read some thrillers. Branching out in my genres.
