The events pick up right where it left off, from Book 1, following one of the side characters that we learned a little about - Sasha, who was Claudia’s friend that she rescued from their settlement. 🔥 Diving straight in, I was a little worried that I might not enjoy this book as much, because the premise behind the initial storylines are similar BUT Ruby made it its own and this book was just as enjoyable. Each couple is different - which essentially helps differentiate each book from each other and not have a repetitive vibe. There are different arguments, different personalities and each FMC has different priorities and needs. 🔥 More details on Drakoni history is discovered in this book as well, which just adds more mystery and intrigue to their background, an introduction for new characters, and the setup for the next book. The Aspect and Anchor series is SUCH an immersive fantasy read. I was apprehensive to start the second book because I was convinced the plot of the books would be too similar. This was not the case at all. I know these books are CRAZY long if you’re used to her sci-fi reads but this series is so worth it! The world building is interesting, but not confusing and everything is paced really well. Wow. I thought that I knew what my favorite Ruby Dixon book was and it turns out that I was wrong. It is this one. I shouldn't be surprised seeing as the God of Death is essentially my ultimate dream man. 😍 Rhagos was all that and so much more. It was really fun seeing which aspect he would be and while it was fairly easy to decipher it was still so enjoyable getting there. I absolutely adored Max and loved her sunshine personality that was the perfect companion to Rhagos. The men on this planet are so lacklustre that we have to re-imagine them as 7-feet tall aliens with provider instincts!!! 👽 If this isn’t a cry for help I really don’t know what is 🥲I’ve been reading all the books from the series but I’ll only review the first one (keeping all of them in mind). Some of the books have great plot, others just have good smut. A few definitely have questionable characters but if you remember they’re fictional aliens it doesn’t really matter much🙃 This is not for beginners. Je zou het los kunnen lezen, maar krijgt wel meer verduidelijking wanneer je ‘Barbaarse ijsplaneet’ eerst leest. ❄️In dit deel maken we nader kennis met mens Liz en blauwe alien Raahosh. De eigenzinnige Liz heeft nogal wat moeite (begrijpelijk) om te wennen aan het feit dat ze ontvoerd is door aliens (2x) en haar lot vanaf nu bepaald is. Haar manier om hiermee om te gaan is het haar voorbestemde partner, de ietwat norse en eenzame Raahosh zo moeilijk mogelijk te maken en overal tegenin te gaan. Dit zorgt voor grappige situaties waarin je zelfs een beetje medelijden krijgt met die arme bazig blauwe alien. ❄️Verder vond ik dit deel veel overeenkomsten hebben met deel 1. De strekking was vrijwel hetzelfde met wel iets andere tropes en details. In this first tale we meet Georgie, a 22-year-old who went to sleep in her own bed and wakes up in a spaceship surrounded by other 22-year-old females, in good health, who are not pregnant and have no family close by. She learns that one woman in the group was given a hearing device to understand what their captors are saying. After some traumatizing experiences and revelations, they are left to fend for themselves on a strange planet, one they initially hope is Earth but very quickly find out it is not. Georgie, being unwittingly named the leader, strikes out in search of supplies, or help. She encounters a barbarian of the icy planet they have landed on, and after a unique greeting and some awkward attempts at interspecies communication she convinces him to take her to the other women. Their tale is spicy, entertaining, and (surprisingly to me) kept me wanting to know "what's going to happen next"? I am totally invested in what happens to these women and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Prócz infantylnej bohaterki głównej mamy równie infantylnego głównego bohatera🙈 Wielki kosmita, który myśli tylko jednym i o jednym, kiedy widzi Georgie. Dodatkowo sceny g, są tutaj czymś normalnym i akceptowanym przez główną bohaterkę, a sceny stosunków i zbliżeń są najzwyczajniej w świecie obrzydliwe. Tak wiele osób polecało tą książkę na booktoku i bookstagramie (i to takie osoby które lubię i myślałam, że mamy zbliżony gust czytelniczy), że pierwsze SMUTne sceny mnie tak zaskoczyły, że aż zmroziły🥶 Dawno nie czytałam tak dziwnej i obrzydliwej książki. Wow. Ruby Dixon knocks another one out of the park! I've been in a reading slump lately and RD always gets me out of it. I did mess up a little and I didn't realize that I should have read The King's Spinster Bride first so I'll be reading that one next. I have read it previously but it's been a while so I can use the refresher. This story was so fun and I really enjoyed the world building. I was a little surprised at how long the story was! I definitely was expecting a short, fun read, but 650 pages caught me off guard. The main characters were so well thought out and the entire idea of the aspects was such a unique and fun twist. I enjoyed the banter between Aron and Faith so much and I adored when Faith would make Aron laugh. The romance was a slow burn but I really just fell for both of them. My first Ice Planet Barbarians book! I am not sure I would recommend just jumping literally in the middle of the spin-off series if you actually like to understand what’s going on. I was just cruising along, having a good time. 😊 I absolutely adored Devi and N’dek. They are just so cute together. Devi was adorable, genuinely as a fellow science girl, I would love to be her friend. Like cutting up dead things you found on the beach sounds like a great time, what are you talking about? I loved her curiosity and how INTO her work she was. That’s what science nerds are like, we aren’t all serious! The audiobook does a good job conveying her rambling way of talking when she’s going on a rant about something she’s interested in. I love her attitude towards this new planet and how she’s just making the best of things, and I love that she is so willing to help N’dek make a prosthetic leg, even though she’s never done anything like that before, she’s just willing to try. And N’dek! I may have messed up reading this book first actually…because I’m not sure any of the other alien guys will live up to the standard he set 😅. He’s so grumpy and sick of being pitied at the beginning, but he seeks Devi out for help and just connects with her. He trusts that she isn’t pitying him at all, and immediately sees how smart she is. He loves her curiosity and encourages it, answering all her questions and just watching her make connections that he hadn’t thought of. Their intimate scenes are just so full of exploration for both of them, I loved it. And I loved N’dek’s journey of getting his confidence back and learning to walk on the new prosthetic. He has this cute little cockiness that comes out. Also, not as possessive as I think maybe the others get. He gets a little annoyed with S’bren when he thinks he’s interested in Devi (more than annoyed at the end, but there were extenuating circumstances), but it’s never directed at HER. Kira wraz z kilkoma innymi ludzkimi kobietami utknęła na obcej planecie. Jej życie zmieniło się o 180 stopni. Brak elektryczności, nowych technologii, właściwie powrót do prehistorii i mieszkania w jaskini. Niestety, choć pogodziła się, że powrót na Ziemię jest niemożliwy, nie potrafi spokojnie żyć. Egzystuje w ciągłym strachu, że ci, którzy porwali kobiety, powrócą. Jedyną iskierką radości jest dla niej Aehako, współplemieniec, który dąży ją głębokim uczuciem. Tylko czy coś z tego będzie skoro Kira nie może dać mu potomka..? Dosyć ciekawa historia, choć mam jedno zastrzeżenie, nigdzie nie ma na książce informacji, że jest to kolejny, trzeci już tom. Dlatego też ciężko z początku zrozumieć, o co chodzi, jak to się stało, że ludzkie kobiety znajdują się na jakiejś dziwnej planecie? Z czasem przyzwyczaiłam się do braku niektórych wiadomości. Romans Kiry i Aehako poprowadzony dość ciekawie. Choć mam wrażenie, że już trochę wyrosłam z tego typu książek. Zabrakło mi napięcia, emocji, choć było poprawnie i jeszcze kilka lat temu byłabym zachwycona. Mimo wszystko polecam, jest to lekka fantastyka z gorącym romansem, którą czyta się całkiem przyjemnie. It’s while she is out on her own that she meets a seven foot, horned, blue barbarian, named Vektal. Vektal states that Georgie is his mate and he wants to protect her anyway possible … but Georgie isn’t sure she wants to stay on this planet and has to make a choice and fast before the new planet kills her. I didn’t think i’d enjoy this … yeah I was wrong. I’m ready to read every single one of these. This was such a short easy read that left little to the imagination 😏😏. Ella una inmigrante de Vietnam que no sabe ni el idioma y que viene a conquistar a un chico de origen vietnamita a pedido de la madre. Solo puedo decir: ¡LEANLO!
