I love a cemetery. I love walking around and reading the headstones and the history associated with our burial sites. Some people consider this weird or macabre but I find cemeteries both beautiful and peaceful. So glad to find out I am not alone. Please excuse my cluttered living room, I was too excited about finishing this BEHEMOTH of a blanket and had to share!! This is my 2023 reading blanket, finished and weighing in at a whopping 6 lbs! (For reference, I am 5'5) I read 59.5 books (I definitely included the entirety of the last one, no regerts), spanning over 25k pages read. I challenged myself and read genres I don't typically read (sprinkling in my favorites, of course), and ended up finding some of my new favorite books! I don't think I'll be making another book blanket anytime soon, I think I'll try embroidering something next, but I absolutely adore this blanket and what it represents about my year. ✨Top 10 Books of 2023✨ I loved all of these books and read with pure enjoyment. Must reads of the year. I can and will be rereading all of these a concerning amount. I have only great things to say and recommend heavily. In 2023 I read a total of 78/75 books and it was fun. I pushed myself to start books I thought were interesting and only read what I wanted. I let myself sit and actively mood read. I’ve finished a lot of different fantasy series’ because of all my audiobook time. I didn’t reach the goal of finishing the SJM universe. Happy New Year, everyone! I hope 2023 ended on a positive note for you all. 🎆 I've been very inactive over December and the new year as I've been on holiday with some of my closest friends. Lots of secondhand bookshops were visited, and I also managed to acquire almost the entire set of Banana Fish Manga! I'm very proud of my reading progress in 2023. I don't remember the last time I picked up so many physical books! This year, however, I would like to encourage both myself and others not to feel like you need to read so much. I want to read more books spontaneously or when I feel like reading them, rather than being hounded by the need to finish as many as possible. I would also like to try and reread more books this year. I have a confession. I did not meet my 2023 reading goal. I read so many books in 2022 that I felt like I had been neglecting life, and decided to pair down. I definitely did! I set my goal at 200 and ended up at 187. I’m not upset! This year has been intense, and I’m happy with my life and the books I’m prioritizing! So, here’s my 2023 wrap-up! Closed out my 2023 reading by just barely hitting my goal of 72 books read. I managed to read 11 of the 12 books in my 12 books in 12 months challenge. The last is on the list still, I had been trying to find a copy through one of my local libraries without success. I only ended up reading 27 books. looking back on this year I only read for 6 out of 12 months due to being low energy during my pregnancy and then being too busy with a newborn 👶🏽😅😂 we’ll try again this year! - 5 books in Spanish ✅I have a hard time picking up books in Spanish bc my brain takes longer to process and it lengthens the time I take to read a book.
