💐May Wrap Up💐 I had an amazing month of reading! I feel like I haven’t had this good of a month in a long time and it was so nice enjoying most of what I was reading! I’m way behind on posting reviews like usual, but here’s the summary of the month! •11 books (9 physical, 2 kindle) •4,159 pages ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Return of Ellie Black Daughter of Mine ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Other Mothers The Mother-In-Law The Carrow Haunt📱 On A Quiet Street📱 Heartless Hunter ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Gathering Motherthing ⭐️⭐️ House of Flame and Shadow 🚫No Rating🚫 The Woman in Me ❌DNF❌ Mother-Daughter Murder Night I was really feeling the thrillers this month 😂 that seemed to be what I enjoyed reading the most. I also just wanted to mention I’m not rating Britney Spears’ book because it feels weird rating someone’s autobiography and life. I read it and I’m glad I did. Have you read any of these? Would love to hear your thoughts on them! • • • #maywrapup #booksireadthismonth #booksireadinmay #thecarrowhaunt #onaquietstreet #motherthing #thegathering #thewomaninme #thereturnofellieblack #theothermothers #heartlesshunter #themotherinlaw #daughterofmine #houseofflameandshadow #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #canadianbookstagram #canadianbookstagrammer #momswhoread #bookworm

✨ Current Read ✨ After reading The Vacancy In Room 10, it made me want to read more of @seraphinanovaglass books! So here’s my next thriller read, because clearly all I can read are thrillers right now! (…that fantasy hangover from TOG is still lingering) Have you read any of this authors books? • Synopsis • Who wouldn’t want to live in Brighton Hills? This exclusive community on the Oregon coast is the perfect mix of luxury and natural beauty. Stunning houses nestle beneath mighty Douglas firs, and lush backyards roll down to the lakefront. It’s the kind of place where neighbors look out for one another. Sometimes a little too closely… Cora thinks her husband, Finn, is cheating—she just needs to catch him in the act. That’s where Paige comes in. Paige lost her son to a hit-and-run last year, and she’s drowning in the kind of grief that makes people do reckless things like spying on the locals, searching for proof that her son’s death was no accident…and agreeing to Cora’s plan to reveal what kind of man Finn really is. All the while, their reclusive new neighbor, Georgia, is acting more strangely every day.

I have been the reading machine the last few days! Another really great psychological thriller in the books!🧐😂“On a Quiet Street,” does not take place on a quiet street! Every neighborhood has secrets … some much more than others! Three female neighbors unexpectedly become close allies in an effort to repair all of their very messy lives. One is sure her husband is having affairs, another is devastated about losing her son in a traffic accident, and another is living with a controlling husband and has lots of secrets. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. Would make a good summer read! I do recommend this entertaining book. #onaquietstreet #seraphinanovaglass #psychologicalthriller #psychologicalabuse #suspensestories # #bookstagrammer #Books #Bookshelf #Bookshelves #Bibliophile #BooksBooksBooks #HomeLibrary #BooksLover #BiblioTech #Biblio #Reading #Bookstack #bookcollectors #bookcollectors

I have never thought a book would be a good thriller if it doesn't have a shocking plot twist. The thing is, I've never been more wrong. Seraphina Nova Glass has proven to be a better storyteller than I ever expected. This is a thriller, no doubt about that. It doesn't have a plot twist that leaves your jaw on the floor, but it indeed keeps you engaged with outstanding writing skill and intense plots. I am so glad i found her book. Synopsys: Since the tragic hit-and-run that claimed her son's life, Paige's world has darkened. She is convinced the perpetrator is someone from their neigborhood. She is known for her grumpiness, peering into neighbor's homes with her binoculars, hope to find some clue about her son's murderer. Cora thinks her husband has cheated on him, but everytime she confronts him, he offers convincing explanations. All the while, their reclusive new neighbor, Georgia who has agoraphobia, she's afraid of leaving her houses. All of them has secrets, some big, some small, some deadly. It's about to be revealed one by one. #seraphinanovaglass #onaquietstreet #thrillerbooks #mysterythriller #suspensebooks #psychologicalthriller #domesticthrillerbooks #bookstagrammer

BOOK REVIEW 📖 Book: On A Quiet Street Author: Seraphina Nova Glass Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5/5 Genre: mystery thriller Synopsis 👁‍🗨 Brighton Hills is an exclusive community on the Oregon coast. The kind of place where neighbors look out for each other. However, once you take a closer look behind the luxury and beauty. You will find Brighton Hills is full of secrets. You have a wife who believes her husband a cheater. A grieving mother who lost her son in a hit-and-run, and a reclusive young mother who recently moved in to the neighborhood. What can they be hiding? Thoughts 💭 From the very beginning of this book I was hooked! My favorite thriller to date. It was chaotic, funny, and action packed. Many times my heart rate was elevated seeing the story unfold. Qotd: what was the last book you DNFed? ☕ Coffee and currently reading I am almost halfway done with this book and I think I'll just have to accept that Seraphina Nova Glass is just not my cup of tea... Or coffee. I am always intrigued by her books, but the slow pace is just not for me. It's always a bitter pill to swallow, when I have to give up on such a popular author, but when it's not the right fit, you just can't force it. But I'm halfway done and I don't want to DNF it because sunk cost fallacy, you know. #readersofinstagram #readersofig #readers #bibliophile #bookblogger #fortheloveofreading #whatiread #ilovebooks #booknerd #igreads #bookclub #booklove #instabook #author #onaquietstreet #seraphinanovaglass #thriller #graydonbooks #coffeeandcurrentlyreading

On a Quiet Street, Seraphina Nova Glass - 4/5 stars You guys know I’m critical of thrillers usually but idk what’s been going on lately - I’ve either read some really good ones or I’m finally over my thriller snobbery 🤣 I liked this one a lot! A little implausible like all thrillers are, but overall it kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting to go on longer walks, do chores longer, etc. just to keep listening longer! Book Review 🫶🏼 On a Quiet Street by Seraphina Nova Glass Genre: Thriller Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Swipe for Goodreads Summary ⏩️ Review: This book turned out SO much different than what I thought. The plot took so much of a turn. I went from laughing at the beginning to the weird things Paige would get caught doing to having my jaw drop at the major plot twists. I definitely recommend reading the trigger warnings on this one because there is a lot of domestic abuse. This book is pretty fast paced and just keeps twisting as it goes. The ending was perfection and i predicted absolutely nothing. Now i want to look into more books by this author. I’ll be processing what i just read because i fully felt the emotions of the characters. Book #19 of 2024: On A Quiet Street by Seraphina Nova Glass ~ I read this one for my office's book club (for ~reasons~) and was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it. Thrillers are usually a miss for me, but I felt like there was some originality in the twists. I also really appreciated how the three women worked with each other instead of against each other as is typical for these type of stories! ~ #books #books2024 #booksbooksbooks #alwaysreading #goodreadsreadingchallenge #storygraphreadingchallenge #onaquietstreet

Three psychological/suspense thrillers with badass female protagonists! All three I would consider a quick read 🫶 On A Quiet Street - Seraphina Nova Glass (304 pages) Goodreads Rating: 4.2 My Rating: 4.2 I could not put this down, each chapter had you needing more. I loved how the three main women supported each other, super empowering. Just so good! Takes place in Brighton Hills on the luxurious Oregon coast. Cora thinks her husband Finn is cheating. Cora’s bff Paige, whose son was recently killed in a hit-and-run, makes it her mission to catch Finn in the act. All the while, their neighbor, Georgia, is acting more strangely each day.. Don’t Look For Me - Wendy Walker (339 pages) Goodreads Rating: 4.0 My Rating: 4.2 I loved the mother daughter relationship that the two mains had. They were both super likable which hooked me. I did find the plot predictable otherwise I would’ve rated this higher. Molly Clarke’s car was found abandoned miles from home. There was a note left from Molly at the nearby hotel.. Don’t look for me. Molly’s daughter, Nicole, knows her mom and doesn’t think she is possible of doing this to her family. But can Nicole find Molly? The Whispers - Ashley Audrain (323 pages) Goodreads Rating: 3.8 My Rating: 4.2 The way this author writes from women’s perspectives really intrigues me. The Push (her first book, this is her second) was better imo but this was still a great read. I loved the multiple points of view & there was strong character building throughout the story. Whitney throws a barbeque in her well-to-do neighborhood as the picture-perfect host. But then everyone at the party hears her explode on her son, Xavier. A couple weeks later, Xavier falls out of his bedroom window and is in the hospital where his life is on the line.. This neighborhood turns into chaos putting all their relationships at risk. #bookgram #booksbooksbooks #thrillerbooks #psychologicalthrillers #booklover #OnAQuietStreet #SeraphinaNovaGlass #DontLookForMe #WendyWalker #TheWhispers #AudreyAudrain #thrillers #bookreview

Mely's Read ‐ Thriller 🔪 Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The story follows three women living in the same community, a community that to the average person seems to be quiet, lovely and kind of perfect, but the more you get to know the characters and their stories, the less safe that gated community is! Plot twists were so unexpected! It's all about who's lying, who's watching out for the truth & who is simply just trying to survive another day. This was my first novel by this author and I was not disappointed. The unexpected twists in this book are literally impossible to predict! It is extremely fast-paced and has everything you are looking for in a thriller and drama. It is filled with lies and deceit so at no point do you know if the narrators are telling the truth. Kudos to @seraphinanovaglass for capturing this on paper! (Or on Kindle in my case) ✨ The story follows three housewives and is told from all of their points of view. Cora has a daughter, and she thinks her husband, is cheating. Paige is dealing with the grief of losing her son in a hit and run. And Georgia, who is more closed off with a new baby. On A Quiet Street 🏘️🤫 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Author: Seraphina Nova Glass Genre: Suburban Thriller ••• If you need a fast-paced, can’t turn the pages fast enough, invested from beginning to end suburban thriller… this is it 🤩 I had four different people recommend this one in the span of two weeks last year, and it’s been on my list ever since. I looked and looked for it at bookstores for months and FINALLY found it 🙌🏻 And wow, did it live up to the hype! We open with a hit and run in a quiet neighborhood that ends in tragedy 🚗 Fast forwarding one year later, a family is still looking for answers. But we soon find out that this gated community has plenty of secrets (and very nosey neighbors) to go around 🤫 I often find that I gravitate towards one storyline more than others in multiple POV structures, but in this book, I was equally invested in all three women’s perspectives and how they were connected. I’m also a big fan of amateur sleuthing done well (even if not always by the most ethical means 😅), and it was a wild ride seeing how the women got the information they needed to dig up answers 🔎 This book also has a very satisfying ending, which was the perfect conclusion! 👀 I can’t say too much else without giving spoilers, so I’ll keep this review short! If you’re a fan of Shari Lapena or Jamie Day, I think you’ll especially like this one 🌟 💭 Do you have any nosey neighbors or neighbors who have turned into best friends? Our next door neighbor in Nebraska was always the person to go to for all the dirt on everyone on our street 😂 She knew everything about everyone, and we’d sit out on her driveway for afternoon drinks!

On a Quiet Street by Seraphina Nova Glass 🤫 Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5 Hands down, this was the best domestic thriller I’ve read. I typically am not a fan of them bc they can be a bit triggering but I was so impressed by the writing & how engaging this was. Rated this 4.5/5 only bc a few things that came to light were a little convenient BUT the way it all came together?? Obsessed. I was actually sweating reading this. These characters were everything. Very desperate housewives vibes. If you want an unputdownable thriller, a book to get you out of a reading slump, neighborhood drama, scandal, affairs, women empowerment and murder, this one is definitely for you. Actually, even if you don’t typically read books like this, I STILL recommend reading this one. It was THAT good. February reading wrap up // February Book club pick. On a Quiet Street by @seraphinanovaglass was our pick for the month and my ONLY read for this month. I’ve never experienced quite a reading rut like this before, but the slump is real. With so much going on in my personal life, I struggled to even get through this book, however, the storyline in this book did truly get me hooked. There was no criticism across-the-board with this one because it had us all hooked from the beginning. Multiples story, lines and POV, you never knew where the book was taking you. Three women, and their three spouses, it felt like a roller coaster in this quiet little neighborhood town. Someone compared it to a desperate housewives vibe, and that was probably the most relatable comparison I could come up with as well. It kept me hooked, kept me guessing, and did not disappoint in the end. Though I had a few unanswered questions in the end, none of those questions were plot line breakers to change my opinion of the book. A friend of mine recommended this, and I am so glad she did, as it was a hit among us all. Highly highly recommend this one (4⭐️ for me)! #bookclub #februarybookchallenge #botm #onaquietstreet #bookstagram #thriller #thrillerbooks #thrillerreadersofinstagram #suspense #whodidit #booksta

On a Quiet Street by Carla Kovach ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Thank you to @netgalley and @bookouture for the ebook of On a Quiet Street by Carla Kovach. Leah suspects that her husband, Cain is having an affair. Next thing you know, a teenager ,Charlotte, shows up on her doorstep claiming to be her daughter. Leah assumes it is Cain’s illegitimate child but soon finds out that Charlotte alleges she is Leah’s daughter. This was a slow burn for me, told in different time lines and multiple POVs, we slowly find out the past and if Charlotte is who she says she is. I didn’t really like Leah’s character but her story and mysterious past kept me reading. It really picked up with a lot of action and big reveals in the last third of the book - filled with so many twists and connections between all the characters. Definitely an entertaining and suspenseful read! #OnAQuietStreet #NetGalley

Book Review! Thanks again to such a great publisher, @bookouture and @netgalley for this edge-of-your-seat, domestic thriller! I LOVED the ending, the plot and writing style. Will be reading more by this author! Leah is a dutiful and loyal wife to Cain. Cain has difficulty with loyalty and has cheated on Leah in the past. Present day, she suspects her husband is cheating again. He comes home late, hides his phone, lies about where he’s been and smells like rose perfume. So, is Cain cheating again, is he gaslighting Leah every time she confronts him? Or is she just jilted from their past, not letting go of past mistakes? On A Quiet Street🏘 Seraphina Nova Glass Publish date: 05/17/2022 Thriller 310 pages ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Book Club- Kendall’s pick🤍 ABOUT THE BOOK: This story is told through POV’s of 3 women living on the same street. Paige is grief stricken over losing her son in a hit and run “accident” last year. Georgia is an unhappy housewife who won’t talk to anyone. And Cora is convinced her husband is cheating on her but doesn’t want to believe it. When the women team up, secrets start to spill. MY THOUGHTS: If you’re looking for a fast psychological thriller that you could finish in 24 hours, look no further. This was such a quick, addictive and fun read. I was annoyed any time I had to put this down because I was desperate to continue. The twists are uncountable, characters are likeable and the ending!!! There were so many layers, this just felt like a super thought out book and it was so fun to discuss with my book club! #onaquietstreet #seraphinanovaglass #thriller #thrillerbooks #books #bookstagram #bookish #bookreview #bookreccomondation #booksta #bookworm #booklover #bookstack #tbr #tbrpile #bookworld #booksbooksbooks #bookoftheday #bookgram #booksyoushouldread #read #reading #alwaysreading #readersofinstagram #instaread #currentlyreading #bookish #booksofig #booksofinstagram #bookphoto

On A Quiet Street by Carla Kovach Thank you for the ALC @netgalley and @bookouture~ Available Now Phew, what a ride On A Quiet Street was. This was a fast paced thriller with lots of twists and characters involved. Leah suspects her husband is having another affair, her mother recently passed away, and a girl comes by claiming to be their daughter. Leah is reeling from all this news and trying to figure out who is telling the truth and what really happened with an incident when she was 16. This book definitely had my attention the whole time and I finished it very quickly as I was always wanting more and struggled to put it down. I loved the telling from different perspectives. The book starts with Leah telling her story, then moves into the “daughters” point of view where lots of gaps and questions start to get filled in. I enjoyed the different perspectives at different times, versus back and forth as it went. If you are looking for a psychological thriller for your next read this should be it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • #bookstagram #readingonsunset #reading #netgalley #onaquietstreet #carlakovach #bookouture

As a huge fan of the author's Detective Gina Harte Series I couldn't wait to get into this one! 'On a Quiet Street' is a standalone domestic thriller which I found a good enough read but in all honesty it didn't really click with me, maybe my expectations were set roo high because of how much I enjoy the Gina Harte series but whilst I read until the end, it didnt thrill or excite me, Leah and her husband Cain enjoy a quiet and comfortable life but there are obviously troubles in their marriage, Leah is still hurt from a past affair and now has zero trust, even more so now that Cain has to keep 'working late' and comes home smelling of perfume. Leah is in the process of clearing her mothers house, who recently passed away. Even though she didn't have any real relationship with her Mum, as an only child it is left to her to clear out her home. A knock at the door one late evening, Leah opens it to find an 18 year old girl standing there. She claims to be looking for her biological parents. Leah immediately suspects that Cain is the father to this girl, Charlotte but then Charlotte reveals information that only Leah knows, but Leah hasnt got a child! Will Leah's secrets from her past come to light? Will her comfortable life come crumbling down? Personally I didn't like the characters, especially Leah and her constant excuses for Cain drove me mad, Whilst this one wouldn't ever put me off reading another book by Carla Kovach, I cant say I overly enjoyed this one, With thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. 3⭐ *PUBLICATION DATE 15th JANUARY 2024* #goodreadchallenge2024 #netgalleychallenge #readersofinstagram #bookreviewersofinstagram #readingchallenge2024 #onaquietstreet #carlakovach

ON A QUIET STREET BY CARLA KOVACH. PLEASE SEE COMMENTS FOR REVIER, AUTHOR BIO AND PURCHASE LINKS XX BOOK DESCRIPTION Every family has its secrets. Some are more deadly than others… I live on a quiet tree-lined street with my perfect husband Cain. But when 18-year-old Charlotte knocks on the front door, what she says has me questioning just how well I really know my husband. ‘I was adopted as a baby and I’m looking for my biological parents. I was told they live here.’ My heart races as I fear Cain has been keeping a huge secret from me. Does he have a child he never told me about? And has he been lying all these years? I can’t trust anything Cain says. Desperate for answers, I agree to meet Charlotte in secret. But it’s Charlotte who is full of questions: about our lives, our relationship. It’s only when she lets slip the name of the road I used to live on, that I realise how much she knows about me, too… Cold fear floods through my body. My husband may not have told the truth, but his lies are nothing compared to mine. If Charlotte knows my darkest secret, my whole life could fall apart. The plot was like a smashed mirror and I had to assemble the jumbled broken pieces. There was much to sort out in the very beginning but Kovach knows how to hook me and then reel me in chapter by chapter. I thought Leah was very neurotic and both she and Cain were miserable. I suspected something about Zara early on and I was right! Things began to become more clear, especially after the POV changes to another character. It certainly kept me hanging on to every word, but I won’t be moving to that street anytime soon.nor planting daffodils. I believe this is a first for me from this author. It was very different! On A Quiet Street, is anything but quiet... The story revolves around Leah and her husband Cain. They’ve been married for years, but he has cheated on her in the past, and she believes he is at it again. Add to this a death in the family. Then add a young girl knocking on their door, claiming that she is their daughter.... And, well, you have the makings of a great book! And no, you will never figure out the twists and turns in this one (at least I didn’t even come close...) But, unfortunately, there are not many likable characters in the entire book! =0 And, each time I thought we were done, when I looked, there was still several hours left of the book.... ??? So, yes, it was definitely not what I was expecting! Also, there are best friends, floozy’s, elderly neighbors, dogs...pretty much the whole gamut in this one... And, multiple times, I found myself...holding my breath!! Thanks to #NetGalley, #DreamscapeMedia and #BookoutureAudio for an ARC of the audiobook which was already released on 1/15/24. #OnAQuietStreet by #CarlaKovach and narrated nicely by #AnnetteChown. 3 1/2 ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 for me, rounded up to 4. Out Now! #BookReview ON A QUIET STREET @carla_kovach @bookouture @netgalley @dreamscape_media 🎧 Annette Chowan Full Review: bit.ly/OnAQuietStreetJDC 🔗 bio/blog 4 🌟Stars Carla Kovach's ON A QUIET STREET is a must-read domestic suspense filled with twists, turns, and unreliable narrators. With a web of family secrets, lies, and deceit from past generations that converge and spiral out of control with a final jaw-dropping twist. How far will these twisted families go to keep their dark secrets? Leah is married to Cain. Leah has not had an easy past. She had a traumatic childhood. This trauma has affected her throughout her life. Now, her cheating husband wants a baby. She does not. The devious mother, Jane, devised a twisted plan without Leah's knowledge. Now years later, three 18 year old girls (Angel, Charlotte, Freya) who are friends show up at her doorstep, claiming she is the mother. How can this be? Who is lying? From past to present, we learn of Leah's past, Jean, and the Pearsons. Jean, now dying of cancer, reaches out to her granddaughter. Can this young girl believe her? In the meantime, Cain lies and has affairs. Then a mysterious couple interjects themselves into Leah's life. Someone is out to take them down to keep their secrets. A dark, complex, twisty, and multi-layered psychological thriller of family and the lies they tell that spiral down through generations. The author keeps you cleverly in the dark and then throws a final twist at the end. I enjoyed this one, even though it was frustrating at times and did not have a lot of likable characters. Jean was a creepy character, as the house and the creepy daffodil garden grave. My first book by the author, and I'm looking forward to reading more! #jdcmustreadbooks #jan2024books #OnAQuietStreet #CarlaKovach #bookblogger #bookouture #netgalley

I went back and forth between feeling sorry for Leah and wanting to slap her silly. Having taken her husband back for the second time after cheating, she (this is gonna shock ya) suspects him of cheating! The first half of the book is from Leah’s POV and seemed like a straight forward domestic suspense, but it got more intense and complicated with every chapter - half way in I was gripped and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough I’ll take this moment to mention I was listening to the audiobook, which was nicely narrated by Annette Chown. Her accents were great although bff Zara rubbed me the wrong way and her accent just made her more annoying - you know when you just don’t like someone even though there’s no good reason? That was Zara for me 😅 The second half of the book was split into several parts, alternating POVs and it was so intense and exciting I stopped my day and just binged through it. I couldn’t work out who was doing what and why and needed to know! There weren’t a massive amount of characters which I liked, and the mystery was so mystifying, I quickly forgot how unlikeable everyone was and just needed to know At times I wanted to scream and slap a few of the characters silly but in a good way cause it wrapped up so well The reviews on Goodreads are split and apparently author Carla Kovach has a bunch of other thrillers and mysteries that are just as good, if not better! I love a good mystery and would encourage anyone to push through the slowish start and unlikeable characters and grab this book Thanks to Netgalley and Dreamscape Select for access to this arc in exchange for my honest review #QOTD what accent do you love/hate Author: Carla Kovach @carla_kovach Narrator: Annette Chown @annettechown Goodreads: 3.97 Audiobook: @netgalley Publication Date: 01/15/24 #onaquietstreet #NetGalley #bookstagram #bookstagramuk #audiobook #bookreview #audiobookreview

📚📚Books on Tour📚📚 On A Quiet Street Carla Kovach While I am a fan of the author’s Gina Harte Series, this is a stand alone and a good way to jump into reading something by her. There were lies, secrets, misdirections and omissions galore. I didn’t connect or like the characters, but was interested in finding out what was up. Was Charlotte Leah’s daughter? What was up with Leah’s husband and the couple he was trying to woo? And her Mom? And her friend? There was so very much going on. I did for a minute get a little confused with the characters in the middle, but I think that is intentional in keeping me guessing who was in on which part of the story. There was hinting or foreshadowing of where some of the characters belonged. The complex plot is staged in a unique way. First I read the story from Leah’s POV, we then also from Charlotte’s POV. It really filled in some of the details of their complicated relationship and history that second time around and wasn’t repetitive. I did have moment where I wanted to yell at both of them in their poor decisions, but I find I do that a lot in my reading lately. And that last twist I had no inkling whatsoever. Kudos! Annette Chown narrated the audiobook and does a good job with the narration and voicing both Leah and Charlotte. If you’re a fan of domestic thrillers full of family secrets and twists, you should pick this one up. What’s the weather like where you are? It’s frigid here and they keep threatening we’re getting snow and it always goes around us. Please note I am not complaining. #OnaQuietStreet #CarlaKovach #bookouturebooksontour #booksontour #bookouture #domesticsuspense #psychologicalthriller #bookreview #audiobookreview #dreamscapemedia

Book Review On a Quiet Street by Carla Kovach You’ll read this book in one day! Well, one day if your day ends at 1:30 a.m. because you HAVE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS! This was such a complex mystery, of identity, he said, she said, cheating husband, lying husbands, wives, and mothers! There was a stalker, threatening texts, and break-ins. Kovach takes us on a whirlwind quest to find out who Charlotte is, if Leah is her mother, and if Leah did what her mother said she did. There was a little repetition in the retelling from different points of view, but that by no means took away from the horrible truths that are unveiled. A solid 5 stars. This domestic psychological thriller audiobook was well narrated and an attention grabbing listen! This book was full of twists, lies, and drama. There is a surprise biological parent announcement, suspicions of infidelity, and overall shady behavior. Throw in an unreliable narrator and this book will leave you guessing till the end! I recommend this audiobook to any reader who loves a domestic thriller full of drama! Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Thank you @bookouture and @dreamscape_media for allowing me to listen to this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

I loved this book! A story that takes place in Brighton Hills an exclusive community on the Oregon coast full of stunning houses and mix of luxury and natural beauty. It’s a place where neighbors look out for each other and where life is quiet and perfectly normal. But when you start to look beyond the airy open floor plans and marble counters, you start to see it is full of secrets. Some big, some little, some deadly and one by one they become revealed. What secrets will come to light when neighbors start looking out for each other a little too closely. The characters in this book were so interesting and it kept me in the edge of my seat for most of the time. I couldn’t put this book down. • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 stars • #fivestars #onaquietstreet #bookreview #lovedit #bookstagram #bibliophile #reader #booksbooksbooks

Release date: 15th January 23 On a quiet street by Carla Kovach is a stand alone thriller. Cain is a cheating husband while Leah is the tormented wife whose mind is in constant suspicion with everything he says and does. But a knock at the door from a young girl called Charlotte who claims she’s Leah’s daughter is about to turn everything upside down. The first half of this story was a little slow to get going but the second half of the book more than made up for it. Whilst I enjoyed the plot and THAT ending, something didn’t click for me. I found there were a lot of characters to keep up with and I didn’t connect with any of them. Which was a shame as I have enjoyed several of this authors other books. I also grew extremely frustrated with Leah who wouldn’t leave Cain and seemed to make excuses for him and his behaviour. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+⭐ On a Quiet Street by Carla Kovach, an audiobook narrated by Annette Chown is an unbelievably gripping and totally addictive, page-turning psychological thriller with heart-stopping twists! I just could not stop listening. My mind was constantly racing and questions were coming. Who is who and what is what? There are so many unexpected turns in this book that more than once I was left with a loud gasp. When finally all the puzzle pieces fall in place and your breathing is ready to go back to normal, the last twist swipes you down! I didn't expect that at all! So all and all this book surprised me so many times! There are so many layers, and so many twists that will make you guess all the way through! Leah's life is complicated as it is. Her cheating husband trying to convince her that he is loyal to her but Leah just knows this is not true. Leah's mother died and she must sort out her property to put up for sale but returning to the house is a challenge for Leah as bad secrets are buried all around and messing with her head. And as if this is not enough a young lady appears on her doorstep and claims to be her daughter... Soon Leah learns that some secrets must stay hidden but she is not the only one who looking for answers! Annette Chown did amazing narration and once I was sucked into the story her voice just took over, it was like listening to my own thoughts! This is the twisties thriller that I finished in a long time! I am grateful to #NetGalley, #DreamscapeSelect, and #Bookouture for a copy #OnaQuietStreet Publication date January 15, 2024

Leah is getting increasingly suspicious of her husband Cain, his constant late night working, unexpected meetings and text messages that he claims are from an important client, and then there's the smell of perfume when he eventually makes it home and she is convinced he is having an affair, after all it wouldn't be the first time. Then there's a knock at the door and a young girl is stood there saying she's looking for her biological parents and she's been told this is where they live. What other secrets has Cain been hiding from her and does she even know him at all? But when she agrees to meet Charlotte, she's not prepared for the impossible news that Charlotte hits her with and she's desperate to uncover the truth of her past. On A Quiet Street is a standalone thriller told in four parts and from various perspectives. At first I didn't know how to feel about Leah and her suspicions, was she simply being paranoid or did she have just cause, but as the story unfolded I trusted Cain less and less on the turn of every page and couldn't understand why she stayed with him, but she did have far more pressing concerns with the appearance of Charlotte. This was a fast paced read with lots of twists and turns and I really had no clue as to where the story was heading but, as it progressed and the pieces began to slot into place, it all began to make sense and came to a very satisfactory conclusion. This is the first I've read by this author, but it definitely won't be the last @carla_kovach @bookouture #onaquietstreet #standalonethriller #fastpaced #twists #intriguingread #secrets #lies #betrayal #adoption #stalker #bookstagram #books #booksbooksbooks #booksbooksandmorebooks #booksaremybag #bookworm #booklover

⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Leah is faced with a multitude of stress…cheating husband, secretive best friend and a not-so-dead daughter who reappears in her life. On top of it? She’s being stalked. I enjoyed the different timelines and POVs this book utilized but I did find the storyline to be confusing at times. I would never have guessed the ending which left me pleasantly surprised. #onaquietstreet #netgalley #bookouture

There is one secret and/or lie right after another making the web of secretes and lies so thick that no one could get through them. Everyone in this book had secrets and had basically lied about one thing or another. This one started off a little bit slow, but it did not take long for the tension to amp up. Leah suspects her husband, Cain, is cheating on her. All the signs are there, but she can't seem to stand up for herself. This irritated me, but once you learn more about her past, you will more fully understand why she is almost incapable of standing up for herself. To add to all of this tension, Leah is cleaning out her mom's home as her mother recently died, a mother that she had not spoken to in quite some time. I knew there were some deep, dark secrets hiding in that house, but I must confess that I did not expect the secrets to be quite so vile. As if these two problems were not enough, now a young lady has shown up on their doorstep looking for her biological parents. So the spidery web of secrets and lies begins to get thicker. This was an interesting book to say the least. I have to confess the ending left me speechless and wondering what just happened. There are some very unlikeable characters in this story. I despised Cain in every way possible. He was a cheater and a liar and verbally abused Leah. However, Leah was weak and would not stand up for herself. She also made excuses for Cain's behavior. However, as I stated previously, once you get a glimpse of her past, you will more fully understand her timidity in taking a stand. If you enjoy a good psychological thriller, you will enjoy this book because this one will definitely play with your mind. Just give it a chance when you first start it because it will pick up steam pretty quickly, and then you will not be satisfied until you finish it. First read of 2024 is complete! Ironically, when I bought "On a Quiet Street" I meant to buy a different book. Same title, different author. THIS #onaquietstreet is a murder mystery that takes you through several different POVs. It's a little hard to follow with the constant changing with the chapters, and the storyline itself leaves me with many questions about the justice system. However, overall this read kept me on my toes and wanting to read more. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
