Title: The Hunger Games Series Author: Suzanne Collins Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐5/5 Genre: Dystopian Fiction *SLIGHT SPOILERS* Review: The Hunger Games series has always been top tier for me. The books are filled with powerful themes and thought-provoking messages. It's a story about survival, resilience, and the fight against injustice. The characters, like Katniss, Peeta, and Primrose, are so well-developed and relatable. You really get invested in their journeys and root for them throughout. The world-building is also incredible, with the dystopian society of Panem and the different districts. And let's not forget about the action and suspense! The Hunger Games themselves are intense and thrilling, and the rebellion against the Capitol keeps you on the edge of your seat. The deaths in The Mockingjay hit me way harder in the books compared to the movies. The way Suzanne Collins writes about them really brings out the emotional impact. The books go into so much more detail and explore the characters' thoughts and feelings, which makes the deaths feel even more intense and heartbreaking. I absolutely loved The Hunger Games series and would give it a solid five-star rating! Overall, it's a series that combines heart-pounding excitement with deeper themes that make you think. Collins' writing style is engaging and keeps you on the edge of your seat, wanting to know what happens next. This is every bit as compelling as the first two books in the series (The Jigsaw Man and The Binding Room) – if you’re a thriller fan and don’t mind a few gory details, check out this series 2️⃣ My last 5⭐️ read – Goodbye Birdie Greenwing* by Ericka Waller – a gem of a book! This is such a heartfelt read with wonderful characters all written so beautifully. Definitely one of my top reads this year. 3️⃣ A book I keep putting off and I need you to nudge me to read – The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak – I feel sure I’m going to love this one so not sure what’s stopping me from reading it?! 4️⃣ A book that is super under appreciated on here – The Berry Pickers* by Amanda Peters. 🌧️ What This Week ☀️ Happy Sunday dear readers. I thought it would be nice to catch up a bit with one another. What have you all been up to this week? 📕 Reading:- I’ve been somewhat obsessed with the Boys of Tommen series and have read books 3 & 4 this week. I will have to do a review at some point but I may have a little break before the 5th book. I still have a few outstanding reads (my first picture!!) to finish which may roll over to May! Depends how much reading I can go in the next two days! 😆 🎧Listening :- I’ve been listening to Sistersong by Lucy Holland@on Audible as It’s been on my TbR for ages, and my April hopefuls. It’s beautifully written and the narrator is amazing. It’s not quite what I’d thought, with an anachronistically modern take but it’s certainly interesting and I’m utterly invested in the story and where it’s going. I’m getting ominous vibes though and things are going to kick off soon. Music wise I’ve been treating the children to some Mama Cass which we’ve been singing along together!! 🧶 Crocheting :- I’ve been working hard on finishing two crochet blankets I’ve been making for a couple of years alongside other projects and I’m so pleased to say I sewed the last ends in yesterday! They’re gifts for my nieces so I need to organise a meet up with them! My sister lives in Nottingham so Sudbury is a favourite meeting pace for a picnic! 📺 Watching :- using my hands for crochet means I’ve done more watching and listening than normal for me! I’ve watched Baby Reindeer (so many thoughts!!) , The Emma Thompson film Leo Grande (gosh she’s brave and looks fabulous!) and am into a few episodes of The Gentlemen (gangster fun!). 🤩 oh, and in other news I surpassed the 1000 followers mark! Yay!! 🥳 🎉 So I have a little giveaway running this coming week so if you’ve not entered why not have a go!! Chapters Challenge ✨ ✨ I was tagged by @thenaptimewriter in the Chapters Challenge a few days ago and it seemed fun! If you're seeing this consider yourself tagged!❣️✨ ✨ Short or Long Chapters? I like both tbh. I don't mind either as long as the plot is interesting! However, I've noticed that I seem to prefer shorter chapters when it comes to audiobooks. ✨ Chapter Names or Numbers? I like the ones with chapter names! Sometimes they're funny and humorous, and they also give me an idea about what might happen in that chapter! ✨ Multi or Single POV? Depends on the genre but I prefer dual povs in romance books and single povs in fantasy. I'm fine with multiple povs as long as they don't switch between too many characters constantly. ✨ Bookmark, Dust Jacket or Dog-ear? Bookmarks but I don't always use them!😂 Usually I'm able to pick up where I left off easily. Dog-earing is a no-no for me. ✨ What's the latest you've stayed up reading? 6 am😂 Yeah I didn't really sleep after that but I just couldn't put the book down. But I paid the price for that and I don't see myself doing that anymore 😶😂 QOTD : Answer any of these questions!

Title: The Percy Jackson Series Author: Rick Riordan Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Genre: Fantasy Guess who's back Review: This is a new obsession. The story is a very well written adventure. The way Rick Riordan brings ancient myths to life in a modern setting is pure genius. I do not care how old this series is. It is still a wonderful creation. I absolutely love percy (he's kind of an idiot sometimes. Especially in the new show). He's sass is on par with book Harry Potter and I love every second of it. Despite all that i find myself having a more sympathetic perspective towards luke. His actions, while misguided, can be traced back to his deep-rooted feeling of betrayal and longing for acceptance. From the very beginning, we see Luke's desire to prove himself and make a difference. It's understandable how those emotions can lead someone to question their loyalty and make choices that seem questionable to others. Overall, the percy Jackson series masterfully weaves together a tale of adventure, friendship and the complexities of human nature. It challenges our ability to see beyond the surface and understand the motivation behind characters like luke, even if we don't agree with the choices. It's a testament to the depth and thoughtfulness of Rick Riordan's storytelling. As always reading is subjective and I would love to hear you're thoughts on the book and Luke's character. I have been struggling to read but I'm back.
